Negative experience: I purchased a refurbished Nintendo 3DS XL console online, upon opening the package I was inspecting the system, overall, I was very dissatisfied with the condition: the screen was scratched up, the bar for the 3D mode was very sticky, and the hinge between the screen was very loose. When I arrived at the store the staff greeted me, I let the staff know I have a return, and the staff said "I can try since my manager is not here". The staff communicated with the manager via text message, told me that the manager have to refuse to return because it was over $100, saying that this came from their district manager due to online scams. The staff gave me customer service phone number so I can request a free shipping label. Prior to coming here, I did spoke with customer service and they said I can come to any GameStop for the return, free of charge, but if I like to ship it back via FEDEX, it will cost me $14.99. At this point, this company is giving me the run around. At this point, I am very disappointed with the store denying my return, I was getting a vibe from this employee, not to take taking returns from other stores or online because that will impact their sales quota. Over the years, this is the first time a GameStop denied a return due a ridiculous excuse. There's no way that they can be scam if the employees were trained to inspect the return item before accepting them. They won't even give out their District Manger's contact information, was told I have to call customer service to get a hold of their DM.

Negative experience: I went to this store to pick up my pre-ordered game at 11am the time they were suppose to open. No one came in to opened the store which I waited 3 hours for and just gave up an left. I have came to this store many times and there was always a issue. They never call you when a pre-ordercomes in and they don't give you the bonus merchandise you should get when you make a pre-order. I will no longer be going to this store after this and will cancel all future orders.

Negative experience: It is impossible to reach an agent or store representative from the game stop location on Brookhurst and Chapman to lift or answer the phone. Even if the store has no customers in the store at the moment, the employees will never answer the phone for potential clients. I have parked outside and called when no customer is in the store and they won't answer their phone lines. It might explain why Gamestop is going out of business.

Negative experience: Was ok asked if had trading cards only to be told that he ( a staff member) buys them all before go on shelf and keeps things to the side whatever he wants. I would not reccomend coming here to buy things as wont get what you would think would have as your looking at only things the staff dont want it seems.

Negative experience: Some of the worst customer service iv ever seen no one made eye contact or even glanced at me for 10 minutes as the only one in the store while they faced the TV and watched Netflix. Iv never seen such incompetence. We have been here 3 times today and been told to come back later. Now we can't get our games by tomorrow unless someone emails them back?

Negative experience: You know, I have a bit of history with GameStop. Not just having shopped there for years - in the 90's when GameStop merged with Funcoland and EBGames, of course I was big into being a shopper then. I don't mind that things have changed. I do have a history of reviewing particular GameStop branches, however, and I found that this one in Garden Grove is not one of the best. First, the two (!) guys that were there were rather unhelpful. They ran out of PS4 controllers which is not a big deal, but I was also interested in a third-party Nintendo Switch controller that the signage pointed to having 30% off. But when it rang up as regular price, the folks in front were not even interested in walking over fifteen feet to read the sign. I mean, GameStops aren't large places...Additionally when I moved to check out, the guy in the front was yelling at me, saying "what is that you're going on about?" when I was explaining I had to use a gift card. Now, I know it is a bit of a drag to work on holidays. I always appreciate when people work on holidays, and that folks would rather be with their families. This New Year's Day, though, the folks at the front desk might still have been thinking about last year. Finally, while I hate the hard sell of the GameStop Pro membership, I understand why it is done, but the staff insisting that I sign up for the Pro membership is just icing on the cake of three horrible customer service red flags to begin with. There are so many other GameStops in SoCal. It might be better served for you to go somewhere else.

Negative experience: There is customer service and then there is whatever that just was. I understand you are probably tired of hearing questions regarding PS5s but it's your job as the middle man to inform your customers on policies and updates. The person with red hair was short in response and told me to camp outside whenever I feel like it.... Extremely rude since Ive been a customer of this location for over 5 years. Just changed my original review from 2 years ago.

Fantastic experience: As with all Game Stop's that I visit this store is well stocked with games for just about every platform. I search for PS Vita games brought me here, my local shop, which was only a couple miles away. I was pleasantly surprised to find that they had a small but nice selection of Vita games to choose from. I left this store very satisfied with a great purchase for a game platform that is not all that common anymore. Customer service was immediate, with other people also being help with questions and purchases. They also have great prices I most definitely recommend this store and will be visiting again.

Fantastic experience: Well organized location. I found games in alphabetical order. Clearly their workers take time to re-organize when needed. The workers are courteous and quick to help when there is a question. I would recommend this gamestop if you want to find your game easily or if you have questions.

Positive experience: I went in to pick up Nier Automata and was out in less than 10 minutes. Line was pretty fast even though there were a number of people in front of me. Store itself is rather small but it's more than adequate. Only thing that could be better is parking because it's right next to subway and other small businesses. Overall it was a good experience.

Negative experience: This place is ridiculous. Tried to return a game my daughter got for Christmas still sealed brand new with the original receipt and they would not return it or exchange for something of equal or lesser value because it was past 30 days. I get it if it's opened but for a game in original packaging with receipt should get a better return policy. Won't be back again.

Positive experience: Very friendly place. When i game shop (which i do quite often) i like to feel like a person not just a customer, Of course they greeted me upon walking in but they took the extra initiative to me and my family about our top fav games and even went as far as talking about the expo and our future plans game wise. So the experience was like talking to a few of my friends rather than the person Im handing my money to.

Fantastic experience: I went in yesterday and both of the gentlemen that worked here were super helpful. When I get their names I'll edit the review to include it but for sure they know their products. It's crunch time when it comes to getting my Xmas shopping done and they sure helped me make the proper decision with their input. I asked a grip of questions and they answered every one. While browsing I overheard them helping out a mom that wasn't as "gamer" savvy and they also helped with all her questions.

Positive experience: I have gone to this GameStop and they took over an hour for me to trade in three games I also purchased a game there once and as I was leaving the parking lot I looked in the case and the game was not there. I personally do not recommend purchasing or trading games at this destination

Positive experience: I had put in preorders before at this location. Services were always excellent until I happend to pre-order at the Westminster Mall for the same item. (2 boys) At the mall, I got my "preorder extras" that came with the order and the cashier informed me the company always sends extras for the preorders for their customers. As I picked up my other order at this location, the cashier stated they didn't receive anything with it. As I was leaving, another cashier was there and they were looking at a box full of the extras I was able to pick from at the Mall. These guys were digging through looking for 1 of each -as one of the guys stated. How dare this Garden Grove location's management not know what's going on. I put in my complaint and STILL they haven't attempted to resolve this issue. Will never do my preorders here again. Spread The Word!

Negative experience: Guy here told me 3ds was in high demand and good luck finding one. Went to another gamestop not far and they were stocked just fine. When asked about high demand they told me "not really.." That guy wouldn't even call and check around and I was the only one in the store! I used to work at gamestop and id of been fired if I acted that way! Terrible!
