Lost Levels Video Game Shop + Arcade: Reviews
Fantastic experience: Update: this place is now closed and has relocated to Chino Hills. Great value for the number of games there. Really fun for a kids birthday party.
Negative experience: They moved to Chino Hills and there was nothing that told me that on Google maps. They need to update their information.
Positive experience: Arcade is ok, small and well maintained. Kinda lackluster tbh. Staff is rude and I sense a bit elitist. Went to sell some consoles and was offered $15 lowball below market and store credit... guy who was running the counter couldn't be bothered away from his Daiso snacks and phone. insult to injury- they unpacked my bag with attitude on the counter, and didn't pack it back up- hinting me to get lost basically because I felt $70 store credit for a console in its box, with manuals & 3 games is an insult. All that was missing was the Comic Book Guy dismissal and the tepid experience with this 'establishment'.
Positive experience: Cool spot
Fantastic experience: Exploring Fullerton on a Friday evening, we happened upon a store without a specific intention. Upon entering, we observed its meticulous organization and diverse range of products and games. Despite not making a purchase, after a brief 10 to 15-minute visit, the cashier graciously thanked us for stopping by, bidding us farewell with a warm "Have a good night." I commend the establishment for its exceptional hospitality and outstanding customer service. ❤️
Negative experience: I recently visited Lost Levels Video Game Shop + Arcade with high expectations, only to be let down. Firstly, their arcade section feels underwhelming – it lacks variety and doesn't capture the nostalgic charm I was hoping for. Secondly, the pricing for their games is quite steep, especially when compared to other places. This would have been a bit more justifiable if they had rare or hard-to-find titles, but that wasn't the case. Lastly, if you're thinking of trading in your used games, think twice. They offered me a pittance for mine, and frustratingly, they were selective about which games they were willing to accept, even turning down some of my newer titles. Overall, I'd recommend exploring other options before settling for this shop.
Positive experience: They have five pinball machines!
Fantastic experience: The employee there was very fair with my trade-in offer and he seems very knowledgeable about what would sell and not sell in the store and why he rejected some of my items. Something that not alot of stores do. Thought that was interesting. Very cool Sega Saturn kiosk as well.
Fantastic experience: My go to video game store
Fantastic experience: Love visiting here to see what cool games I can find for my collection. Staff is always super helpful and friendly.
Positive experience: My son loves coming to this classic arcade, highly recommend! $10 per hr or $15 all day.
Positive experience: This place is ok at best, The selection of games are pretty small so I wouldn’t recommend if you are looking for something specific and prices are on the higher side. The arcade is pretty small so your gonna get bored pretty quick 6/10
Fantastic experience: AWESOME. friendly environment, great atmosphere. True enjoyment and positive vibes all around. Needs to be checked out by all walks of life!!!
Positive experience: Decent experience. Went to sell a PS2 Slim Console -they were not interested. Oddly, GameStop had more interest in it.
Positive experience: Small place but not a lot of arcades
Fantastic experience:
Fantastic experience: Hi do you have cleaning disc machine?
Fantastic experience: Their arcade is pure heaven! Their all-you-can-play admission passes are massively affordable compared to the arcades you find in malls, and their games are much better. Staff is very friendly and they've got Guitar Hero, Street Fighter, Pacman, all the classics. Can't wait to go back! So happy to have found my new recreation video game spot. Thank you, Lost Levels–so grateful for all you folks do!
Negative experience: Hate this shop I rather sell games to game stop then these tools. F them
Fantastic experience: Great video game store ever
Fantastic experience: Great arcade and store. Arcade is 10 bucks an hour. All the games for sale and super clean and organized.
Positive experience: After they got rid of marvel vs Capcom 2 and switched to the pay upfront model I stopped coming here.
Fantastic experience: I love it so much. I pay $20.00 for the $15.00 all day playing Arcade and I wear a wristband to play for free. Everyone should be there.
Fantastic experience: Good condition games, and the arcade is great!
Positive experience: Decent collection of games and kind staff.
Fantastic experience: Really nice store. Helpful and kind employees. I look forward to going with my boys to enjoy the arcade.
Negative experience: Terrible I came in with some amiibos they were asking only for store credit never sell here they definitely lowball
Fantastic experience: This place is sooo cool! So many great Used Amiibo and great prices on Retro and new videogames!
Fantastic experience: Came here and bought a ps4 for a friend. I had a small set back but Jesse was such a great help and was able to solve the problem. Love the arcade games inside. This place is awesome. Thanks again Jesse for being so calm, helpful and efficient .
Fantastic experience: Man is this place awesome! I went there so many times and couldn't get enough. If you want retro, this is the place to go! I wish there was something around me right now that I could go to. They had arcade machines up, KILLER INSTINCT!!! My jam. I'd go there during my break and throw a few dozen quarters in to get the blood going. I'm glad it is still there. Go check it out one of these days in you're downtown!
Fantastic experience: My first time going to this place and I totally love it. Can't wait to play in the arcades again.
Negative experience: Bad vibes. Not really family friendly. Okay gaming.
Fantastic experience: Duuuuude! They have the Simpsons game I spent so much money in my youth playing this game in the arcades so nice to be able to play it I'm actually playing it now with my boy That's a fun father son Bonding experiencedlto play those old video games with him they also have a pretty well taken care of guitar hero which I am not good at but man do I enjoy rocking out to some guitar hero they've got pinball machines and pinball machines or super fun so if you're in the area go go check this place out it's it's neat also the dude that works there is pretty friendly so why not just go support a local business.
Positive experience: I really loved the place one of the best arcade + game shops only a little arcade machines but 4/5 the willy Wonka of arcades
Fantastic experience: cool little arcade but it is a little pricey for the hour but supporting small business is worth it. cool merchandise too
Positive experience: Great experience. They have a small retail section full of classic games from original NES all the way to XBOX 1. The rest is a pay by hour arcade with some great retro cabnits, pinball, and awesome arcade fighting games. Staff was super cool too.
Positive experience: Good quality of video games. Worker/employee attitude need to work on it. Doesn't look friendly when I approach them.
Fantastic experience: Good assortment of classic video games available to buy. Good arcade games to play for a very reasonable price. Staff was very friendly and welcoming.
Fantastic experience: Friendly staff. Good customer service. Reasonable pricing. Location is a small but great environment for any age.
Negative experience: We visited from out of town, and we were super disappointed in the small selection of games available at this store. Not only was there very little games to choose from their prices were so jacked up that we could buy from our local store for cheaper with 20x the selection in our small little town. I expected more from a bigger town.
Fantastic experience: This place is awesome, I really enjoyed being there, we really had a good time, management & staff are so pleasant & very professional, I will definitely be going back
Fantastic experience: Nothing but a power up ️ from when it started!
Fantastic experience: Staff is super knowledgeable!
Fantastic experience: Really good place prices are not high
Positive experience: Took my little sister here. The machines are well functioning and has a nice atmosphere. Pretty small venue but service was good
Fantastic experience: I love this place, reminds me of some of the old buy/sell/trade spots that used to be around. I went here looking for a Wii-mote & nunchuck to play some of the Metroid games that I missed out on from the Wii era and was able to find several options here, even though no other stores are carrying these anymore. Unfortunately, the nunchuk stopped working a few days later, but Lost Levels still gets a 5-star rating because when I went back, the manager (or owner?) just gave me another nunchuk free-of-charge. So far, it seems to be working fine & I'm enjoying Metroid 2.
Fantastic experience: Pequeño acogedor y bien surtido
Positive experience: This is a fun arcade. Mostly well managed. There are a few machines that need repair overall, and some of the others need to have controllers and buttons replaced. But overall a great place for coin-OP fun.
Positive experience: Nice little place to play arcades but do not sell your items here. Sell them on ebay or Offerup. The manager tried to buy my stuff for way way less than expected. And I am a collector! Lol
Fantastic experience: Super cool store and girl that helped us was super nice and helpful. Definitely will be back
Fantastic experience: Let’s take it way back Way waaay back haha Just the perfect place for your retro gaming fix 2 thumbs up .
Fantastic experience: Four perfectly maintained pinballs and an assortment of arcades...$10 unlimited play for an hour. Gloves provided, mask required for now. Did a non-trivial pinball fix in 15 minutes to get me back on a game. Awesome!
Fantastic experience: I've always come to this place when I was going to Fullerton College after my classes were over. I would pop in, slide a quarter in, & play a game or 2. Most of the time I would just wonder around the vast collection they have from the NES, Genesis, GameCube/Boy all the way over to the current systems like the Switch or PS4. The owner is pretty cool to don't let his quietness get to you, he talks more than you think lol but we've always gotten along since he first opened up his shop. I used to like the old style better where you would just use quarters to play but the new system is cool too were you can play all the arcades for 5 bucks for 30 mins or 10 for all day( I'm pretty that has changed a bit so don't get mad at me if I'm wrong). Anyways go support this local business because its cool to have a blast from the past!
Fantastic experience: Dope place
Fantastic experience: Retro gamer heaven
Fantastic experience: Wonderfully entertaining! My only gripe is that I wish I had more time to spend there. Definitely would want to return with friends and spend at least an hour playing gauntlet.
Fantastic experience: Love this place.
Fantastic experience: Friendly service and great selection of video games and their prices are great
Fantastic experience: Thank you for keeping the old video games alive. This place is fun just go there and spend some money. Free play pinball and 80 arcade machines. Take a date but respect the machines there older than you.
Fantastic experience: Nice clean place. 4 pinball games the rest are video.
Fantastic experience: Dope place to go Super Fun pinball selection and classic games
Fantastic experience: What a great spot to spend a few good hours playing some classic games in their original arcade format. So going to come back for more!
Fantastic experience: Discovered this place with my friend. Amazing experience for the small price. Definatly a must go to
Fantastic experience: Didn't really have an experience here because we came to look to buy games. But I'm sure it would've been amazing to play some games. I purchased some Mario games and it was amazing. Thank you guys for the help and great prices.
Fantastic experience: Friendly staff. They sell retro video games like 64, nes, and snes. There's a really cool arcade.
Fantastic experience: This place is awesome! It’s like a stepping into an 80s arcade! Got my girlfriend to finally play videos games here and now it’s a tradition whenever we come into town to come here. Perfect for a date night or just hanging out with friends. The staff there is super nice as well.
Fantastic experience: This place is awesome! Old games are the only video games my boyfriend can get me to play... I’m the one dragging him here. Perfect for a chill date night
Fantastic experience: Chill place. Has MVC2 which is hard to find these days! 5 bucks for 30 minutes of freeplay, not bad at all.
Positive experience: Worth going. Very good prices
Fantastic experience: They have great prices and are very helpful and they know what they're talking about.
Fantastic experience: best place ever,
Fantastic experience: Love this place. Keep ur eyes open, sometimes you will find amazing retro gaming treasures!!
Negative experience: Went I came here, the arcade game selection was very barebones. The photos uploaded onto Google show a variety of interesting cabinets that was just not present. There was no DDR, there was no pinball, and there wasn’t even Metal Slug, which even mom-and-pop stores will sometimes have around. The only arcade game worth playing for more than five minutes was a light gun game, and it wasn’t even something with production value like House of the Dead, just something cheap-looking with digitized sprites. Instead, over half of the floor space was taken up by game consoles hooked up to TVs, and half the controllers were third-party ones. Even the Street Fighter II here was the SNES version. If I wanted to play Super Mario World or Donkey Kong Country, I’d do it at home so I could at least save my progress.
Fantastic experience: Fun
Fantastic experience: 3 years of this store being open and it is still an amazing place to get your fill of nostalgia! Definitely a staple in Downtown Fullerton that every local and SoCal visitor have to experience.
Positive experience: The game choices were very limited and no pinball machines which is what I was looking forward to. They said they had gone to a convention and took a bunch of the games with them. Yet they charged the full price to play. We still made the best of it but this place has so much more potential.
Fantastic experience: Amazing experience! Can't wait to visit again!!!
Fantastic experience: great selection
Positive experience: Great place to kill time
Negative experience: Disappointed, no pinball when we visited on 6/25/19, fair selection of old arcade games, the retro NES / SNES "living room" area was cute.
Fantastic experience: We got the 10 dollar all day pass and had a rad time. Token free we were able to beat house of dead 2.
Fantastic experience: Love this place. The selection of games for sale is smaller compared to most other spots but the titles and condition that everything is in totally makes up for that. Besides, the best part is the 30 minute unlimited arcade gameplay for only 5 bucks! Really cool guys, super friendly!
Positive experience: Nice easy going place with an arcade. I frequently pop in to examine their discount games. I've been over charged several times (check your receipt!), but they're good about fixing problems. Prices are a bit higher than some other local retro game shops, but the ambience and staff make up for the difference, and they're usually pretty close to market value.
Negative experience: I was extremely bummed when I drove 45 minutes from my hotel to come play some pinball here as advertised, only to arrive and find there were zero pinball machines.
Fantastic experience: Awesome place for nostalgic video games. Arcade is cool.
Positive experience: Staff was kinda rude. talking to himself rather that helping/cleaning up. Youll also need to pay $5 for every 30 mins. Not worth it.
Positive experience: Sometimes closing at 10:00 means closing at 9:15 and awkwardly staring at people trying to come in. Other than that it's a cool spot.
Positive experience: pricing kinda sucks
Positive experience: Cool setting but I was really disappointed in the selection of used games. Ever since Games for Less closed down there is nothing in the local area for true retro games.
Fantastic experience: It's like a comic book store, but for video games
Fantastic experience: Great small arcane locale. Had DDR, Ninja Turtles through Time, Guitar Hero, and Crazy Taxi, plus many others. A lot of fun for a small group!
Positive experience: They keep changing up the style in this place and I never know what to expect when I go in.
Fantastic experience: These guys are great! I had an old super nintendo that needed fixing and these guys helped me out. They also have a stellar assortment of arcade cabinets. 10/10
Fantastic experience: Love this place! Reminds me of TRON 2. Need more games for sure!
Fantastic experience: Great place to spend an hour. They change up the shop often. But you will always find arcade games and a lot of vintage (that makes me feel old) video games. It's not a ton of things, it's more boutique setting. Instead of having hundreds of cheap old Xbox games they have some rare 100$ Nintendo games on display. So you know this is for serious collectors or the curious.
Negative experience: This place is horrible when it comes to the nrw rule they implemented where you can only play if you give them a minimum of !5 to play you just wanna stop by and play a game for 5 minuted well that's not the case anymore no rule exceptions not even willong to take $3 for 5 minuted they reject business and turn away customers regardless the fact the entire place is empy bad business culture and pathetic way to reject customers that just want to walk in for 5 minutes..
Fantastic experience: I love that this place, I just started to go with my hubby. Walked out with a Nintendo 64 and worked great!
Fantastic experience: Friendly staff
Fantastic experience: $10 AYCE gaming on all machines. 3 modern Stern pins available. I wish they had more pinball tables available.
Fantastic experience: I had a blast there
