GameStop: Reviews
Negative experience: Horrible management displace was completely disruptive. They were inconsiderate on a professional level and completely downright disrespectful. I am in awe, by the way, this company trademark store branch treats their customers. Using such fowl language and disregard for how to speak to a human, especially. When i'm here to buy my little son , a birthday gift. NEVER AGAIN
Positive experience: Beware: They can't buy anything with a serial number (they don't have the license). Don't come here if you are looking to sell consoles, controllers, etc. You will have to go to the one in Hollywood. Still, I've been coming to this Gamestop since the mid 2010's.
Fantastic experience: Incredible service, excellent selection. Staff was very helpful. This is the only GameStop I will be going back to.
Fantastic experience: Amazing customer service
Fantastic experience: The staff was great really knowledgeable it was a great experience. Thank you guys for helping me choose my Xbox remote control you guess rock
Fantastic experience: This Gamestop is awesome. The vibe is always on point and chillen.
Negative experience: I was lied to about the Silent Hill f preorder bonus I was told that every preorder would get a steal book case :(
Negative experience: I dont usually leave bad review, But one of your cahsier tried ripping me off by adding the gamestop membership when i told him i dont want it in front of other people. He kept saying it will be cheaper. When it cost more money. Seems like this happened to other people as well. Avoid this gamestop
Fantastic experience: Hoping to see GTA VI here next may
Fantastic experience: Really good spot to bike up all kinds of gaming gems. Staff is really helpful and friendly and this guy Brian was so knowledgeable on what's currently out he saved me tons of research time and money
Fantastic experience: Every time I go there, the store manager and the associates help me look for what I need
Fantastic experience: I went to GameStop yesterday to get some Plushies like pokémon that I was looking for and there was a guy named Brian help me look for it since he a nice person and it was a great customer service. Also you should check it out
Fantastic experience: It has great customer service by helping us yesterday by finding some beyblades that i wanted there and it was a huge help from o forgot who. I think was Jessie Anyways it was awesome by helping me.
Negative experience: Went in to buy a Switch 2 which they had just restocked on and PS edge controller. Was told by the store associate, John (Employee ID 128741) that I needed to buy a 25 dollar Gamstop Pro membership in order to purchase the switch 2. He tried ringing me up for the 25 dollars before I made any other purchase. I called another GameStop to see if that was the case and it turned out you get it for free when you purchase the console. I lodged complaint against him with the corporate feedback team. Absolutely scammer and everytime you go in there, they act like they’re doing you a favor. Terrible service, will never purchase from a GameStop again
Negative experience: Tokyo on switch marked at $15. At the register they tell me it is no longer on sale and that it's $35. Items should be priced properly.
Negative experience: Do you train your employees not to answer the phones?? Ive called 3 different stores SEVERAL times and no one answers. Im trying to make sure a game is available and this is terrible service.
Negative experience: They intentionally ignore the phone. Terrible location
Negative experience: They can’t seem to answer any phone calls
Fantastic experience: Just a heads-up that it's a good idea to call ahead if you're looking for something specific in terms of games or gear, but overall, it's a decent place. I especially like browsing their sale sections. They usually have a great selection of Sanrio, Sailor Moon, Animal Crossing, and other adorable items that would be perfect for yourself or as gifts!
Negative experience: They have lost their license to do trade-ins, please avoid the store at all cost
Fantastic experience: Good customer service. Very helpful. Parking was pretty bad now that they charge.
Fantastic experience: Customer service, for the most part, is really good. The employees are very knowledgeable about the products. Plus, they're also super friendly as well. Would definitely recommend coming back.
Negative experience: I went in there to buy a Nintendo switch. The guy was very helpful. But he said something that truly did not sit right with me. He was discussing some time consuming task he has been given from his higher ups and said “I think im going to have to clock out and finish this work off the clock.” Honestly this is aimed at his bosses, probably regional managers. SHAME ON YOU. That is illegal. And I highly doubt someone would willingly do this if there wasn’t insane pressure from y’all. I doubt he just wants to work for no pay. I am still disgusted by this and will no longer shop with this company and will cancel my membership as well.
Fantastic experience: 4/24/2024 They are now buying back retro games. My fear is fake carts will sip through inventory. Staff are not trained and paid enough to be able to really good reproduction carts from the authentic carts. 1/14/2024 Bought some 3DS games. It's not displayed, so you need to ask if they have any old or retro games.
Fantastic experience: Went in today to get some plush toys. Very friendly service and helped me find all I needed. I loved the selection of items. There was Pokemon, Minecraft, WOW, Mario, Hello Kitty, Naruto, Dragon Ball Z... The accessories of all different colors. Leo and Bryan were very helpful in finding all that I needed. They were knowledge on the gaming items. The store was very well organized, which made everything so much easier to find. The store itself had a very friendly and exciting atmosphere. Made me want to try all the new games. Even the others customers were very knowledgeable an passionate about the games. Would definitely go back just because I felt very welcomed.
Negative experience: "Beware! GameStop's Money-Hungry Tactics Will Empty Your Wallet!" I recently had the displeasure of dealing with GameStop, and let me tell you, it was a nightmare. From the moment I walked into the store, I felt like I had a target on my back, and the employees were ready to pounce on me and drain every last penny from my wallet. First of all, the prices for their used games are absurdly high. I could practically buy a brand-new game for the same price elsewhere, but GameStop seems to think their scratched-up, beat-up copies are worth their weight in gold. It's like they believe their used games have some magical powers that make them more valuable than anywhere else. And don't even get me started on their trade-in system. They claim to offer you a fair value for your games, but in reality, it's a highway robbery. I brought in a stack of games, some of which were practically new, and they offered me a laughably poor amount of in-store credit (which you cannot use on the same day; you gotta visit again and spend even more money to get that credit discount applied). It's as if they have a secret mission to make sure you leave with as little money as possible. The cherry on top of this terrible experience was the pushy sales tactics. The employees kept trying to upsell me on unnecessary warranties and accessories, almost like they were desperate to meet some sales quota. I felt like I was being harassed rather than assisted. If you value your hard-earned money, steer clear of GameStop. There are plenty of other retailers and online options where you won't feel like you're being taken advantage of. GameStop's eagerness to snatch every penny from your pocket is downright shameful. Save yourself the frustration and find a more customer-friendly gaming store.
Negative experience: a guy outback sold me a cat and I brought him home and this is the first thing he. and the store kinda smelt like piss and baby wipes and I couldn't play the xbox games on my playstation for some reason.
Negative experience: Since when did yall start closing early?? I called before and told them I was coming when I arrived at 8:45 the doors were locked and gate closed no one would answer the phone. I’ve been to many game stops this isn’t normal.
Negative experience: Guy behind the counter was far more focused on upselling the customer in front of me for several minutes than willing to do my 15 second transaction. (1 game and 1 collectible) Another worker in the store was walking around tidying up, trying his hardest to look busy, I asked if he can ring me up. He wasn't rude at all but he said "Sorry, somebody has to be on the sales floor at all times.", So the clerk walked around with the other customer trying to get him to buy something, anything, while I waited there for a few more minutes with my guaranteed purchases. In the end I did not buy anything. This is how my experiences typically go at GameStop and only GameStop. Sorry but I think I'm not gonna try to go back anymore.
Negative experience: THIS STORE REALLY NEEDS TO BE CLEAR ABOUT THEIR POLICIES! So came I in there earlier today to try and trade in my switch lite, and the guy told me they couldn’t take it cause it was missing the power adapter. I told them okay I’ll come back later that evening with everything. Fast forward to this evening, and the chick pulls out this ridiculous excuse about how they could no longer buy consoles because their license two years ago. I don’t know what is going with this GameStop, but they need to be really clear about their police’s cause they causes me a great inconvenience today.
Fantastic experience: Had a good experience there about two weeks ago. The employee who assisted me is very kind, and the overall experience went smoothly.
Positive experience: Staff is friendly and helpful. They also close late but this is not the best neighbor hood and parking can be limited.
Positive experience: Variety of video games and if youre into collecting items like figurines it's a great place to get them. Overall a great place. Discounts could be a bit better.
Fantastic experience: Great people working here who know what the store is all about customers always get treated appropriately when helped
Negative experience: Well I was trying to see if they had a game that says it's there online but I know the online availability doesn't always match the actual in-store numbers. However they don't answer there phone and I don't want to drive 45minutes for a game that might not be there. I've called four times (once every two hours) giving the benefit of the doubt that it might just be busy. But it's clear now that they just don't answer the phone at all. I doubt the customer service in store would be any better.
Negative experience: Unhelpful, inattentive, unprofessional. I could list few other “qualities” of the associate, but I’d spare me the time. Without even verifying Joanna stated buy 3 get 2 free is online only deal. I checked online before coming, so I showed her the promotion online. I guess, that ticked her off. Because she wouldn’t “find” the game even if it says available in that particular store. Finally, Natasha (manager/mod) found the games which 2 of the other SA (including Joanna) couldn’t “find”. The store is well organized, but needs some serious attention from the management. The tags are wrong (SA wouldn’t honor it), total unwillingness of looking for products if they’re not on display, not “finding” the dvd when u find the case from display, gossiping or chatting with each other while guests are in store, asking each other to ring the customer while standing idle. Most of the stuffs can be done with attitude adjustment & attentiveness of the management. As a pro member & shareholder of GameStop, I’m truly & utterly disappointed at Joanna’s behavior & the store as a whole
Negative experience: Worst service ever. I was a fan of this GameStop once, but had the worst experience with them today. I try taking assassin's Creed Valhalla that I bought yesterday didnt work and was a new game. First of the dlc code was missing someone steal it, also game was made in Mexico and game was open with no rap around sealing it just a tape. They try to get a diffent game didnt it in atite and told me, they could order it and could get it in 3 to 4 day, but last time i did that it came in a week to 2 weeks Also didnt want to give my money backi am done with them and report them. DON'T EVER BUY FROM THIS SCAMMER I KNOW I WELL NEVER SUPPORT GAMESTOP EVER TO THINK I WAS A FAN FOR 20 YEAR TO GET THIS TREATMENT NEVER HAD THIS PROBLEM SO GOODBYE NEVER TO SUPPORT ANY GAMESTOP EVER
Fantastic experience: Very friendly and knowledge staff working in this location ...5 star is not enough 50 star service is provided ... if you need a game to enjoy than visit this location ... you'll not regret it .
Negative experience: Well, that was weird. I went to the store to get Undernauts: LoY for Switch at the release date. The box said New but they sold me an open box copy at full price with the price sticker on it. Also, they put a seal-sticker which just ruins the box mint condition, because it’s super hard to remove the glue and not left marks on the box plastic. Technically, I bought a used “good condition” copy at the full price. That was my first and last purchase at GameStop.
Fantastic experience: Great customer and patience to deal with my teenager lol making hard decision in the time of them closing. I appreciate there extended time for him to decide what he wanted.
Fantastic experience: I went to a few to try to find the red xbox series X controller. Both of them were very helpful. The first one asked if we wanted to know we're we can get a red one. He led up to this one. Here at first they thought they did not have any. But they checked the back and had a fresh shipment of 11. So if you are trying to find one right now this would be the best place to go.
Fantastic experience: This store has a large diversity of game titles, more than other i checked before, with the pandemic in course the store is limited to 5 guest only, so be patient and wait outside until your turn, when you are inside you wil be attend by nice associates, they really know about the games and they will give their personal opinion and suggestions. Very good place.
Negative experience: Do yourself a favor and avoid this store, terrible work ethic. Their motto should be the customer is always wrong, because that's how they'll treat you. Inbred employees and customers.
Positive experience: Only reason I gave it 4 stars because of parking. You have to park underground and get validated but only get 30 min. But beside that great service and clean and organized store. I live about 20 min away but I still will come to this store to buy and talk to associates.
Positive experience: Good selection of games and toys, new and used. Free 30 minute parking in a nearby structure. It's also right near the Red line so it's super accessible. Lines can get really long pretty quickly so try to time it right.
Negative experience: The games and the items are good but it's just really really not cool when you walk in, your looking for games and the manager and her co-workers make remarks under their breath, they look at you and when you look at them back they turn around and continue working, I don't like feeling like that in a place where I thought I can feel comfortable in.
Fantastic experience: GameStop is a nice place to buy some game. Wondered if they have some new games that's why I visited this shop. Wasn't disappointed because they have new stuffs in their shelves. Not even that, they also have some classic old games in store. It is so eye catching. Spent 2 hours walking around the shop since there are a lot of nice games to pick. When inside the shop I feel like I'm a kid again. It was so nostalgic. I remember my childhood when I see those classic games. Not only that, they also have card games to play with friends. Will be going back here for more games, maybe some card games this time.
Negative experience: Lazy service. Requested different options but hesitant to help. Felt like I was treated differently and after I saw some acquaintances are welcomed. Not going back ever. Try different stores. Another game stop employees are way nicer. Please!
Negative experience: Lyin bad mannered carter wants to try and give me a bad time cuz I’m returning a used game, what’s your deal bro ? Curious to know if this how the employees are trained to give you a frown when you’re returning something, sure I didn’t have my receipt but I called prior and asked if it was ok, I get told one thing over the phone and another when I get to the store smh, I ended up putting my refund amount towards one of my pre-orders, something the happy employee should’ve convinced me to do as he was explaining to me why he couldn’t refund my purchase instead of giving me attitude and a frown the whole time, lucky this place doesn’t exactly depend on customer experience to survive
Positive experience: Some of the staff can be a bit snappy if you don't really know your stuff. But it's a solid location good selection, great place to pick up pre-orders. Nice merch too If you're nervous or need help seek out the lady with purple hair.
Negative experience: BEWARE | BAIT & SWITCH Waiting in line I see the store boss give a cryptic transmitted look to the other employee. I shook it off. When I go to pay I am made aware that my account is basically "no good" no discounts can be applied, etc. I get the pitch to move into a better upgraded account for a low price, that will be paid for by the lower price on the games I was buying. Fine, felt right. After looking at the receipt I see a $15 charge for a subscription of magazines I never discussed with the employee. I told the guy to be transparent. There where 3 people behind me otherwise I would have had an ethics discussion with the two of them. Sad how at such a young age these 2 gentlemen are already being bred to compromise with their ethics (aka lie) to move store numbers and subscriptions.
Negative experience: Bought stuff from here before I knew better. Prices are a lot higher compared to online, even the used stuff. They buy used games for a just a few bucks and turn around and sell it for $15-24. I had to return a used game to them that didn't work, so check those discs.
Negative experience: Waited over 15 minutes in line to be helped when there were 3 customers in the store and 4 employees. The employee working the counter even decided to take out the trash and replace the trash bags instead of letting me check out - all while I was standing waiting in the empty line. After receiving no attention, I put back the $65 PS4 controller (which costs $43 on Amazon) and left. No reason to shop here.
Negative experience: I went to ask for a controller price and the guy in front of register was distracted on his phone texting. I wait for 1 min, and manager told him are you attending the customer. The guy then spoke to me in Spanish and I told him I ask you in English. So I left didn't buy anything. An you shouldn't be on your phone check text you should be working.
Positive experience: Didn't have much of an option. One of the to employees said they had what I wanted in stock. But when I spoke to another, they didn't have any? They offered a "better" version. But was twice the amount I wanted to pay. I waited this long, but it's took $500+ Settled for just 1 game after instead of two. Went down to $348. Left feeling more regretful than eager to play my game. Might return everything soon.
Negative experience: Very slow services. On average have to wait for 10 minutes in line just to either ask a question, or purchase something, when I'm the second person in line. Its almost impressive how slow the staff can go. Items on shelf are always "out of stock" And I've sold them games, and they paid me .25 cents for something they turn around and sell for $7.00. So long waits, and felt pretty screwed over.
Fantastic experience: clean and good place to drop by casually. employees are nice; they inform events that i could miss everytime i visit here. no wonder they take long time if you're up to pay for the games, because they take time to inform their every single customers even if it gets busy. i understand why they take so long to take payment so i never get tired of waiting in line in this store. it's a friendly store i like shopping here.
Positive experience: Not the best place to go. The people working there spend more time talking with the customer about personal things instead of help or at least try to help all the customer. Dont go here if you are in a hurry to buy anything. Bad bad bad customer service.
Positive experience: ive been here so many times. and i honestly dont have any complains, except for one. the line is too freaken looong. oh and beware if you plan to stick around a bit. i had this homeless man folloowing me around trying to chat, only to find out he wanted money. hehe. a dollar wont hurt but he kept on nagging. BEWARE!
