Negative experience: Drove all the way here because someone recommended this store to get a used power supply for my console. When I got there they had the used cable but would not let me test anything before I made my purchase. If you need to purchase any used consoles or cables I would just take my business to GameStop instead.

Fantastic experience: Really cool place! I got my wii u repaired here and they had a huge variety of games. Definitely recommend.

Fantastic experience: Only times ive been here is twice. Once to buy my own PS4 (Taken King Edition) which is a system that I still have. Second time I came here was to browse. The shop itself is very cozy. Like you took a trip back in time to like the early 2000s. That’s probably just me though. The area tends to get full because of the school nearby and it makes it a pain for cars to get by. Luckily it’s easily accessible through public transportation. Give it a shot, yo.

Fantastic experience: I needed a repair done to my VIta. Just a replacement joystick. Simple enough. They quoted me one joystick for replaced for $30, both for $40. And I asked if they could have it done in an hour. So I wouldn't have to go back home. I paid an extra $10. I was glad to pay it. Not sure what more you could really ask for. Fast work for a reasonable price. And the staff was really cool as well. Crazy they did it for a decent price when a store down the street was trying to charge me $95 for the same work. I will gladly bring all future repairs into the store. Thanks

Fantastic experience: I’ve always wanted to visit this store and finally stopped by today to make a purchase. The staff member was extremely helpful, respectful, and kind. He made it very easy and effortless!! I wish I got his name, but he was very friendly and personable! As for the venue itself, it is small, but I was pleasantly surprised by all the neat collections they had inside. Definitely made me feel nostalgic. Parking is limited, so you may have to find street parking. Other than that, it’s a great place with great people! Would definitely visit again.

Negative experience: I took about 6 games from year 2022-25 & all I was offered was 2.50$ (in total) when they were worth 7$-10$ easy. My visit wasn't as great as I thought it would be I should have went to GameStop instead honestly.

Negative experience: I bought two used PS2 controllers and they both didn’t work. Wanted a refund but they only did in store credit. If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it’s a scam. Also saw they were selling used Nintendo 64 for $240 and there’s one on FB right now for $100. I get they need money but this is why Amazon is winning

Fantastic experience: Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Good stock. They carry cool merchandise and have lots of regular events. A great local game store that I am happy to frequent. Their website also has all their merchandise so you don't even have to go. You can order for pickup or for mail delivery. They have even fixed my many drifting analog sticks on my controllers. They don't make controllers like they used to. I love this store and have been happily coming for many years. Update: Do I still go to this store like once or twice a month to buy games? Yes. Yes I do. Update 2: This is where I do most of my Christmas shopping. Santa's Secret. Update 3: They also have an awesome store that specializes in import games in Little Tokyo!

Negative experience: Worst experience I’ve ever had. Wasted my time and lied to me on SEVERAL Occasions, do not use them for anything, trust me there are better places. I used this place because it was closest but do not waste your time trust me tried to say I had bugs which is not true. Then took 6 days to fix it. After I called everyday to check in. Terrible

Fantastic experience: I love this place and I will always choose to buy from local shops over big time GameStop anyway. I love the vibe here it's a great Pokemon Go gym. They have the best retro games on sale as well as the new games. They do repairs and they are fantastic! They even sell Dragonball, sailor moon and The Simpsons drinks which is gnarly. They got sum of the best plushies in the game, I always get a Kirby plushie or a colored Yoshi. This is the fire video game spot hands down

Negative experience: Only got 15$ for my ps4 worst experience ever they buy our games for suck a low price and they sell them for a hire price. I don’t recommend anyone coming here to buy or sell your console and games .

Fantastic experience: So far so good. Israel & co are super knowledgeable about game systems and what it takes to repair them. Will update when my systems are repaired! Update!: They fixed all 3 old, broken systems in record time, and the cost was super reasonable. My kids are stoked to get all the old games back in rotation. Seriously a better investment than a new gaming system (which they also have!). Kudos to the team at World 8. Thank you for being great!

Negative experience: Super disorganized store. I drove 1 hour to fix a faulty game. Was assured by them on the phone they could do it simply & quickly. Arrived to be told they didn’t have a technician and couldn’t guarantee he would be able to fix it if they didn’t have the part. Total waste of time.

Staff was just ok I said I wanted to take some photos inside for my reviews and they said no for whatever reason so I have to rate it lower than I wanted. The sister shop world 8-2 was far more friendly and accommodating. That one is over in little Tokyo

Fantastic experience: just got my gameboys advanced sps repaired, quick and cheap.

Negative experience: The man at the front desk laughed and called me cheap for asking for a discount on a game cartridge that was clearly DAMAGED. The conversation went like this: - You're from Brazil, right? - Yes, did you notice because of my accent? - No, it's because you're cheap. At that moment, I had already paid the full price for the game, so that was completely unnecessary. I felt very humiliated. This happened at around 2:30 PM, on a Wednesday.

Negative experience: Staff is incredibly rude and unwelcoming I will never be back here. All of them working today made me so uncomfortable and they didn't even say hello back or ask if I wanted to look at anything. Rolled their eyes too for no reason. RUDE as hell. I went down the street and bought from the sweet lady working by herself. The 3 weirdos working today around 3pm cost y'all so much business and they should be working at McDonalds

Fantastic experience: Really nice people that work here. Had a great conversation with the workers. We visited 5 retro game stores while in LA and this one was by far the most friendly. I really liked these guys.

Fantastic experience: Friendly, knowledgeable, and insightful gaming store. Even though they didn't have what my 11 yr old was looking for, they gave great suggestions and ideas where to find some old gaming titles for the game cube and wii. I will be coming back here for sure!

Negative experience: I come into the store and everything was fine till I ask if I could test the game on my GBA. The guy helping says “absolutely not” and talks about how I’d take up way too much time trying to test EVERY game. I go ahead and purchase the game and go to my car to test the game. Turns out it doesn’t load… I go back in and he blows on it and says that’s normal. It turns on but now 2 weeks in my game does not turn on at all. Pokemon Ruby GBA

Negative experience: They over charge for old systems that aren't even used anymore and are used that you can get cheaper at GameStop and other sites games are over priced as well .

Negative experience: This place used to be amazing for everything 2 years ago but moreover customer service was top-notch with relatable easy-going friendly dudes. Total chads. Now they have a woman there with short hair and face piercings who loses her patience and temper quickly. Very dismissive. If the pricing were still good here I’d tough it out, but all in all GameStop actually has better everything now sadly. This place used to put GameStop to shame, now it’s quite the opposite. Sad because I used to love coming here.

The nostalgia factor is great and their diverse collection of items that just aren’t available at your big box Target or Gamestop is great. It’s tough: The competitive market of Amazon makes the price point here a bit high, but supporting local businesses with a real commitment to classic gaming requires investment. I was glad to purchase but wish I received a warmer, more savvy interaction

Definitely a must visit game store if you’re looking for something less cookie cutter than GameStop! They’ve got tons of eclectic game titles and even titles for retro systems.

Fantastic experience: Nice and courteous employee there. I wish they had more Famicom and Super Famicom titles. The parking lot entrance is very steep, so go really slow unless you want to damage your bumper or the bottom of your car.

Negative experience: Good selection of items but poor customer service. There is one employee who loses patience quite easily and has consistently shown a bad attitude toward clients. Once pre-orders are available for pick-up, they will notify everyone on their pre-order list regardless of actual inventory stock. To make matters worse, the store also fails to notify customers when the first batch of inventory has sold out and as a result, it causes many people to essentially waste their time traveling to the store in the first place.

Fantastic experience: For the vast, while I have had a problem with my PS3 60GB (pictured) not being able to play PS1-games. So after taking this in the wonderful people told me that a laser was inefficient thus, causing the errors. When I got home, I was mad at the fact, it wasn't working again!! Thankfully when I picked it back up, the first time, Kat (a great person) informed me of the 30 day policy to return, such a thing that became previously operated on, and they'll reexamine it, free of charge. Turns out, that a "factory default" laser (I think... if I remember correctly) was THE exact error, on this time around so after going back, the second time around to pick it back up, I made sure the system worked correctly as possible. So Kat (once again, bless her soul) helped me as I, inserted the discs (because during the defaulted laser phase no disc whatever could work at-all, for-your-information everybody reading this) her turning on a television. So not only did a DVD began to work, so did every variation of in-which that system could load-up. They did all they can to make it work, & all were very, helpful, indeed. I highly recommend their services. (Shout-out to Curtiss for being the majority of communications as I was going through my dilemma.)

Negative experience: They Had my console for over a month, end up telling me that the update for Microsoft for my Xbox wouldn't let the picture display for some reason, Contacted Microsoft and let them know of my problem they informed me that there updated had nothing to do with displaying the picture and that i needed a simple repair. Long story short there just a wate of time/money and seem to have a lot of excuses for why they couldn't work or fix my console but they definitely wanted to buy it from me for some reason. Probably have better luck at gamestop

Fantastic experience: Real friendly employees. Pretty reasonable prices to be honest, I got a genuine LeafGreen cartridge for a price that's slightly less than what you'd "buy it now" for on eBay. If you frequent vintage games stores you know that's an uncommon experience. Obviously the vintage stuff they sell has been hot lately so it might be hit or miss if you're looking for something specific. Either way I really enjoyed spending a few minutes here.

Negative experience: Have had problems with this store in the past, but nothing big to place a bad review. They sold a moded GameCube which they did tell me was moded, but didn’t disclose it was originally Japanese moded to play American games. Some games recognize it’s a Japanese console so language comes out Japanese and some games don’t play at all. Overall if they would of informed me of this before purchase I wouldn’t of wrote this bad review.

The staff is helpful & kind, take there time to call you and update you on your console repair & other issues they find while it’s there. Took my kids Nintendo Switch due to a bad charging port while there they also fixed the controllers. They stand behind there work. Decked out in old systems, with walls adorned with gaming regalia, it blows any GameStop I've been at out of the water. The repair itself was quick, cheap (the $10 diagnostic fee covered the full repair), and my console was as clean as when it first came out of the box. Really glad I decided to give this place a try, and I hope you check them out too!

Fantastic experience: These guys are the greatest but most of all they have a honest working team. You can get your system cleaned out if it's making that humming noise. Like most people's do very fair average cost $40 but that includes a diagnostic test.. great technician that does the work highly recommend this place

Negative experience: So I went with my mom and when I took my ps4 they said that cleaning was going to be 40-50$ and then repairs over 100$ even tho I told them what’s wrong and the repair was supposed to be around 50$ at most. Also the cleaning part didn’t make sense to me because my ps4 is clean they said I had roaches in the console...Here’s the thing When my ps4 broke 7months ago I cleaned it and kept it in a locked clean box.. I went home and open my ps4 to see the bottom cover had a bit of dust only.

Negative experience: INCREDIBLY pretentious workers. If you own a video game store or any store for that matter you should be able to offer knowledge on your product or at least try to help. Asked for help and was basically told that "this is a retail store and he was too busy to offer help or knowledge on a video game, and that he had people in line" if you have people in line then maybe put me on hold and deal with your customers then try to help a potential customer who politely asked for help not for some halfwit to be pretentious and condescending. For sure not ordering here anymore. Spent hundreds, close to a thousand here because we loved it so much the last time we visited, but whe I was met with a pretentious attitude and condescending tone when I asked for help on a video game it definitely locked in my decision to not shop here anymore. I've worked retail for years and alot of it was with art, collectables and video games and I can truly say that I've never turned down someone who needed help on a product or had issues with progress on a game. If you are a good worker and someone who actually cares about gaming culture and the people in it you don't act like you dont have the time or inclination to help the. Wack af
