Fantastic experience: Really good deals even after when my xbox original that i got from them broke they fix it up for free and gave me a free game with it. Also when I saw that the games I wanted were scratched up they polished the games and fixed it. This is one of the best place to get games. This placed is better than other retro store that sell games for high price

Fantastic experience: I've been aware of this store for essentially half of my life at this point, and been in periodically to check out the selection of modern and retro games as well as various accessories. However, I recently, by my own idiocy, damaged my condenser microphone, detaching the usb port from the motherboard. Most places quoted me a price higher than I paid for the mic, but A&J quoted me an exceedingly fair price and fixed it to full working order. They are well known for their quality (and thus are busy) so it may take a week or more, but you can expect honesty, quality work, and reasonable prices that make it all worth it. Go patronize this store not just for your current and past video game and collectible needs, but also for any repairs or other servicing needs you may encounter for hardware. Great folks, and an institution in the community.

Fantastic experience: I had an old Pokémon gold gameboy game that would no longer save progress—-I took it in to A&J games and within 10 minutes I was out the door with a completely fixed game! Super fast AND very friendly service!

Fantastic experience: I originally stopped by just to window shop, but I was blown away by the amount of retro games they had, it was like stepping into a gamer's paradise. As I was about to leave, I spotted a Pro Controller and was offered a great price for it. It was like new and in excellent condition! Not exactly retro, but still a great find. I love visiting local shops like this, places that truly appreciate gaming. Definitely worth checking out!

I traded in some of my consoles here, But overall this place is FILLED with games, They have every single game probably known to man, i come here from time to time to browse and buy. Fantastic experience: Can’t recommend this place enough. I’ve been popping in here for a few months now. Every game I’ve picked up here runs perfectly. The staff have always been super friendly and they’ve always had a good amount of cool stuff in stock. I recently picked up a Wii U here— hardware that has started to become a bit obsolete and tricky to work with, and they really went the extra mile to set me up with a console that runs well and looks sharp. If you’re in the area, stop by, and if you aren’t, drive in. This is one of those stores where you’re likely to find a holy grail just chilling on a shelf, and at a fair price.

Negative experience: 1. Place is a mess, picture a video game hoarder that had a storefront. Voilà! 2. Their staff if it’s not Gary the owner, are clearly distracted from watching reality TV. This is a big no no, you greet the customer politely—it’s considered running a good store etiquette. 3. The video game cartridges are not priced, thus are at the discretion of the staff. This is a red flag according to Metal Jesus Rocks (watch his YouTube w/Kelsey Lewin). 4. They use Game Dudes’ printed, pricing charts and are too lazy to use any type of pricing-labeling system. They have a lot of loose carts, consoles, PCs, etc for sale. Judging from looking at the other negative reviews of their repairs is obnoxiously painful as customers who get their consoles back with missing parts? Wow, evident in the facade they pose as a repair shop that’s an abhorrent mess from the inside and the outside. Shopped here once, & that was enough for me. Better off shopping at Game Play nearby

Positive experience: Nice owner. Lots of common games across many systems. Not many rare games or CIB games from older systems. Worth a visit if you aren’t looking for something rare. Prices are reasonable as well.

Fantastic experience: I took an old GameCube here and got parts for it replaced. It works perfectly now. Thank you so much for fixing it and for transparency on the price. I think I should tell readers that when it comes to older hardware, things could take a while. A month, or 2, or 3. Parts for older materials like a GameCube are not readily available and can take time to ship, and the owner is likely working on other projects and repairs as well. By himself, it seems. If your goods are older then you will probably have to be nice & patient, and it is not anyone's fault. Any other store would have the same issue, or worse. It's just how the shipping, supply & demand, and materials work. Newer hardware like a PS4 could be better suited to a quicker repair. Within a few days, according to other reviews. I also got a copy of Xenosaga: Episode 1 for dirt-cheap here. It is a notoriously rare find, and I encourage you to give this place a try. There's plenty of vintage stuff and maybe even other valuable, rare things to get here. Go ahead and see.

Fantastic experience: I was too sure about this place until I walked in it was amazing. All the gaming systems old and new from my childhood to my adult hood is in this place. Brought back memories. I went in to repair 2 PS5 controllers because the drifting on them were extremely horrible (Sony if you're reading this) they only took a day to repair and they work brand new. I also brought a refurbished controller from them and that work like brand new. I'll alway go back to this place. Highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: Came in last week looking for old school GameCube games and he had exactly what I needed! I ended up buying Mario Kart Double Dash, Mario Party 4, and Crash Bandicoot, the classics. Reasonably priced as well. A week later I finally got around to playing the games. All worked perfectly except for Mario Party which had some disk read errors. I brought the game back to the store, told him about the issues, and he happily took care of it. He resurfaced the disk and let me test it right there in the store. The game works now! Couldn’t be happier with the service. I’ll definitely be back for my GameCube needs.

Negative experience: Look, if you want to find older games fine. Want to repair a system okay, but don't leave a game in the system if you can avoid it. Had to call repeatedly for progress on repair and the game in the console disappeared. Still waiting on my replacement to show up and they keep losing my contact info.

Fantastic experience: A great game shop. For starters, they have an excellent selection. A wide range of Consol titles, and consuls themselves. They also have good customer service. In addition they also have some other great knickknacks; like toys, records, and old televisions. I was also impressed that they have pretty good prices on their video games. It’s always nice to see a shop that doesn’t inflate their prices to match what you see on eBay. All in all a great cozy shop that makes you want to go again.

Negative experience: Opened 30 minutes late. Sign said "Ill be back in 5minutes" I ended up waiting outside for 33 minutes exactly. Guy told me to come back with a new internal hard drive and he would help me out. Came back with one and he didn't know what he was doing and told me "Yeah I'm honestly not too sure man tbh". Ended up leaving with no help whatsoever.

Fantastic experience: I'm so glad local games shops like this still exist. The store is absolutely lined with new and old hardware everywhere you look and the nostalgia factor alone is worth a visit. Friendly staff and good repair service to boot. They've been around for over 2 decades and I hope they last many more. My go-to games store for sure from now on.

I brought in a non-functioning XBox 360, and though he wasn't quite able to fix it, he did give me a discount on a refurbished model, while also accepting several of my old Sega Genesis and Nintendo games in trade. Negative experience: DO NOT GO HERE FOR REPAIRS! Great store to browse and Purchase from, do NOT Recommend for Repairs If you want your item back in good shape. Had a Sega Saturn with a disc reading issue that was apparently quite hard to diagnose. They never told us what the problem actually was, just that they had to get a 'professional' to come in and look at it, and then we had to wait almost two months (after being quoted a week) for the repairs to be done because of the time it took for parts to be shipped. This is fine, problems come up during repairs and I understand that, what I don't understand was the complete lack of communication regarding these issues. I had to call the store on a near weekly basis to get an update on the status as they made no effort to keep me informed of the progress. It took so long to get repaired that I had to leave the system with them while I moved to a different city. To their credit, they did ship the item to me though the mailing was at my own expense. The Saturn arrived today... and the disc read issue I sent the console in for IS fixed now, so the job was technically completed, but the system came back to me with MISSING PARTS that I sent it in with. The back battery cover is now gone, and the system wasn't even properly screwed back together, coming to me in Two Halves without a word of warning that they lost the screws. I understand the battery cover, mistakes happen and sometimes things get lost, but how they could FORGET TO SCREW THE TOP AND BOTTOM HALVES OF THE CONSOLE BACK TOGETHER, I don't know. It was immediately apparent when I lifted it out of the box, and they had to do far more with it than that: Assembling it, Testing it, wrapping it in bubble wrap and mailing it off, and yet they somehow didn't notice? I find it hard to believe. There was no explanation for this either in the packaging or over the phone when they did the shipping, just a 'It's repaired, what's your new address?" There wasn't an invoice, notes on what was repaired, a thank you, nothing. No communication whatsoever. I used to love this store, browsing their selection is great and they do have fair prices, but I could never in good conscience recommend them for repairs in any capacity after their lack of communication and sending the console back incomplete. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm off to spend another 25 bucks to replace the NOW missing parts on top of the 130 I spent on the repairs... at this point it would have been cheaper for me to buy a whole new console instead of getting it repaired, and given everything else I'm not confident that it won't just stop working again in another month.

Had been having an overheating problem that crashed the system off and on the last few weeks, and had been having the "jet engine fan" for even longer than that. Brought it in on Saturday, got it back on Monday, and its running practically whisper quiet! (fingers crossed this will last). Gonna run it through some intensive games and see how it holds up. But for now..GREAT JOB A&J!

Fantastic experience: Great local game shop. Fair prices considering it's a seller's market right now. They also have some books, movies, comics, toys etc. A couple people asked about various repairs. From what I heard, the prices were pretty good and the repair times seemed pretty quick. I'm sure it depends though. They're pretty busy during the day, so expect to wait a few mins for service.

I don't know what to make of this place. Clearly other people have had it work out for them, but my experience has left me wondering how this place is still open.
