Fantastic experience: For a collector of an older video game system, I'm constantly trying to find a video game store that will even offer them. Doc's is loaded with ALL video game systems. This is what a retro video game store should look and feel like. It has something for everyone!

Positive experience: A pretty solid game store. Considering it's Denver, I feel like the 'good stuff' flies off their shelves quick, so they mostly have shovel ware retro games. That's fine, I'd just recommend making it a regular stop in that case. For consoles, though, I think I saw just about everything, and they allow you to check them before purchase, which was really nice. The staff is not super knowledgeable, but they are very friendly and helpful in my experience, maybe a bit too much so - I felt a little hounded, not in a way where I felt under watch, but just that the guys really wanted to chat. Overall, it's a really solid retro game store that I would make a regular stop if I lived closer.

Fantastic experience: I don't understand the bad reviews of this place. I went in with my husband and brother. We were greeted by Nick, who was incredibly nice and knowledgeable. The prices for the games I was looking for were cheaper than I was expecting. They had many titles I hadn't ever heard of before, some games even in different languages. Sure, maybe some of the *mint condition and limited edition* items were a bit pricey. But I feel like they match what their value would be worth with the current inflation of our economy. I don't personally feel it's fair to judge a niche business for trying to survive the dying culture of retro gaming. This was my first time in Doc's and I will continue to support them as long as they're open.

Negative experience: Clearly evident why the other 2 stores shut down and why they have dwindled down to one. Real shame really. Went in today with my son and was greeted with condescending comments from the sales guy. Aging inventory filled with nothing but common titles. Prices were disappointedly way over eBay. Almost felt like I was bothering them being in there. I recommend spending your money elsewhere.

Negative experience: Employees are very condescending and everything is overpriced, they will lowball on trades. They seem to be lacking on percentages and math I asked them what percentage they offer on trade they told me 30% then they proceeded to offer me only 15% on my trades. I addressed this issue and was told “that they are the customers in this situation and can offer what they feel is right”, and If am not happy with the offer go somewhere else. They offered me a price and when it was rung up the offer was changed to 5 dollars less than what was originally given. I understand it’s a business but they shouldn’t lie about what percentage or change price that is offered in trade. Sadly this doesn’t seem like a business that values actual customers that come to them with trades.

Fantastic experience: Awesome little game store with helpful and friendly staff! They gave us a small discount for a small inconvenience that we didn't even mind. They're selection and pricing was honestly really good, too!

Fantastic experience: Bought a Japanese 3ds XL from them to try and get my eshop stuff from a broken system. When the regionlock made that not work, I asked for an exchange and they did it no issues. Even got a nicer system out of it. The guy working the counter is always really nice and they have pretty good deals on cool retro stuff. Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: Went in yesterday to see what was in stock and the selection was amazing! Lots of games I dont normally see anymore in retro stores. Also, the prices are very fair to what current values run. The employees I talked to (I dont remember their names, eek!) were so kind and friendly which was a breath of fresh air. Fantastic experience: Great store and awesome employees!! I bought a ps2 from them about two weeks ago as a gift for my boyfriend. The ps2 I got ended up not being able to read disc's so we brought it back in yesterday(3/28). They tested the one we brought back and switched it out for a new one right then and there!! They even tested the new one for us just to make sure it was working. I did not get the employees names unfortunately but they were so kind and helpful. Truly a great experience and we will definitely be back. Thank you!!

Negative experience: Don’t buy sell or trade here. They will low ball you on selling and trading. All their games and systems are overpriced. Never going there for anything ever again. I suggest to everyone that you go to Gameforce, level 7 games, or entertainment.

Negative experience: I got twice the trade in value at a shop just two minutes down the road than what this store offered, not even exaggerating, double! I don't know why they low ball so bad on trades when they should be welcoming stock in, but they do. Never trade in here.

Fantastic experience: My first experience was great at this place. Friendly staff and great game selection.

Negative experience: I took in two games and a PSP memory card for either trade in credit or cash and Jose (employee that works there) was only trying to offer me 13 bucks cash and 20 in store credit. At first I was going to pass on the offer but I found two DS games that I was going to pick up for my wife. So I decided to do the in store credit, but Jose was only offering me 18 in store credit when he just told me 20 earlier when I got there. I then reminded him about it and he just tried to brush it off and gave me attitude telling me if I’m going to get the games or not. I decided to not take the games because he wasn’t being true to his word. I know two dollars of credit isn’t much to make it a big deal but he already was going to screw me over on how much he was offering me when I know if I took them to GameForce I could of gotten a bit more for Daxter, a PSP 1GB Memory Card and especially for DBZ Budokai 3. Ive been coming here for 5 years and never had a problem but lately that I’ve been coming, Jose hasn’t been giving me a rewards card because supposedly he’s already giving me a discount on my items when he hasn’t and I have the receipts to prove it. Not sure what his deal is but Nick on the other hand, always greets and welcomes me and doesn’t make me feel like I’m being rush to browse without being followed around the store. Nick also gives me a new rewards card every time I make a purchase when I need a new one, or stamps my card to get a discount. I recommend a lot of my friends to Docs, but after this I don’t even know if I still do.

Negative experience: This place is a scam of a store. Their 30 day back money guarantee of a defective console isn’t even upheld 30 hours after you spend $120 on the consul and then run around for the next 24 hours buying adapters to see if it will work. In the end we spent $250. We have tried to get this working on 3 different tv’s. All different kinds of tv’s. But it will work on their tv in the back that is 20 years old and no larger then a 20 inch screen plus non smart tv. They are willing to replace the defective cord we brought back to them 12 hours after this was bought. But when it comes to refunds they say they will not stand by their merchandise and do not do refunds just 30 hours later. After asking them to solve the issue they threw in another adapter, after getting it home, guess what it still doesn’t work. So we are out $250, stuck with a console that doesn’t work but we can keep spending our time and gas to keep having them replace it. We can get store credit too. Oh yay I should jump up and down for store credit of something I don’t want?! No I wanted a video game console that worked! I don’t trust this place. It may be a shot that some things work but their “guarantee” is worthless. I asked the employee, “what if the next one doesn’t work?” His answer was, “oh well, idk.” This place is no more reliable with their merchandise then buying a “real” diamond ring off of Temu. Again don’t trust this place. Response to the store. The console does not show up at all. Not even a black screen. No signal on all three TV’s. This would be the fourth time returning to the store. Are you willing to pay for our gas and time because the console doesn’t work? It would be expected maybe returning once but not four times. It gets old especially After buying $250 worth of stuff to make it work. That includes the “free adapter” they gave us to make it work. After four times I just want our money back so we can go somewhere else more reliable. And the refunds signs are up for defective products. Our product is defective. Period. Black and white.

Positive experience: The service was great, the sales guy was very knowledgeable about every game we asked questions about. However there wasn't a lot of Nintendo switch game choices, which was the reason we went in there. Also I got sold a faulty C.O.D modern warfare game that won't load on the PlayStation... So that sucked too. But they had a lot of retro game consoles, and games which was nostalgic.

Negative experience: Bought a Wii U from them and once I got the unit to play some the accessories were missing (sensor bar and stand) yet still charging full price and due to return policy would be unable to return "no satisfaction guarantee" not to mention how filthy it looked once I got it out of the box

Positive experience: Great store! They have a nice selection of games, and some rare ones in excellent condition. I picked up a Final Fantasy 8 CIB (complete in box) in excellent condition for an excellent price. I'm looking forward to finding more in the near future.

Negative experience: Thought it was a cool store until I purchased a PS3 controller for $40 which is outrageous price took the controller home and my PS3 stopped working went to get my money back 15 mins after buying controller and wouldn't even offer my my refund back only store credit!! Which is ridiculous if you purchase a item and return the same day you should be able to get your money back they was very rude about it will never return there again.I suggest game force they much better and actually work with you.

Fantastic experience: If you’re looking for classic video game systems, like the NES, SNES, Dreamcast, etc… or actual games for older systems; Doc’s is one of the places you should call/visit. This is one of their two stores within 10 minutes of each other, and between the two stores you will likely find whatever you’re looking for - depending on what that may be, you may have to check in often since they do depend on people trading/selling games or systems to them. Aside from games, they also have movies, awesome looking arcade machines, toys/collectibles, and posters/wall scrolls. I’m not a poster collector; but most seem special and unique. The store associate who was there when we came in was also awesome, patient, knowledgeable, and super helpful. Lastly - be sure to ask for a punch card if you spend $10 or more; every $10 gets you a stamp and every 5 stamps gets you $5 in store credit.

I asked for a game and when he didn't have it, he called the other store to check their, and then suggested many places to check. He's also very knowledgeable on a bunch of different genres, so that's good when browsing.

Negative experience: Update: Went here on 5/20/21. Will not be coming back! Was a different guy that day. Got there at 11am when there supposed to open. The worker who eventually open the store was in his car on his phone for a good 10 minutes before opening late. Was never told sorry we opened late got bad service will not be returning Went here on 4/19/21. Really like it here. Lots of movies to choose from. Good amount of games as well. Vic, helped me out. He was real knowledgeable, answered all my questions. Super nice as well. Will be coming back! .
