The selection is impressively wide- new releases, retro gems, collectibles, consoles, you name it. The store is always clean, well-organized, and easy to browse thanks to clever use of space. The staff really stands out: whenever I walk in they greet me, are knowledgeable about games, and happy to track something down. They even offer repairs in some cases. Whether you're trading, buying, or just hunting for nostalgia, this store delivers. Highly recommend for any gamer's stop-by.

Negative experience: Terrible experience. Took almost 40 mins to literally tell me you couldn't take something. The problem was, over 20 minutes of it, I didnt know what was happening. Just left standing in the store. Then finally when I'm graced with presence, I get the news and that's not anything to upset me but, time of mine is being wasted for something I was told was only going to give me cents. I'm furious that my daughter and girlfriend have to have their time wasted because someone just prancing around, answering a phone call and completely just walking away from our transaction without an excuse!. Why should I have to tell any stranger that I must be somewhere at a certain time just to simply receive decent service. Horrible service, and if I could give zero starts, you bet I would! No reason I have to see tears because employees aren't ready or trained or whatever diligent enough to move with purpose or even talk to me and tell me whats going on ten mins into the transaction; not 25! I know who not to ask if I come back in. August 21, 2025. No difference in service. Called about trading in controllers, came in, was told I can't trade the specific ones I described to the person over the phone from the store. Before I say that's fine and can leave, the man working answers the phone and continues to help the person over the phone for the next ten minutes, whilst knowing I should be able to leave because what's he's checking he's already told me won't be worth much at all. So after I have to wait for that call to end, I become late for my appointment... STEP YOUR WORKERS UP!!!!!!!!!!!

Fantastic experience: I finally ventured in to Video Game Heaven while on the hunt for a physical copy of Kingdom Come Deliverance II. They were unable to help with my acquisition of that particular video game but while I was there I noticed they had a large collection of retro video games. I also happened to have a large collection of retro video games. This felt like the perfect match, and thanks to them I was able to sell all my old Super Nintendo games that had sat unused in a box for the last how-many-ever years. The service was fast and friendly and they paid cash just like the good old days.

Fantastic experience: They were kind enough to resurface some DVD recordings my brother-in-law made for his daughter while he was deployed in Afghanistan. They did this for free. He was KIA on his final deployment and these discs are some of the last recordings of him. Take it from a local guide: You should absolutely be spending your money here.

My parents used to take me there to get Japanese games as a child and when I got older I bought my son's first console from there. I even have memories from high school of me riding my bike to their location in Chesapeake. I've been with this store since the beginning.

Fantastic experience: Honest, honest, honest! I went in there for a trade in and half expected the swindle. Nope! The staff was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The store had a wide variety of new and old video game gear for sale, as well as an eclectic mix of items that made my nerd heart happy. Highly recommend.

Negative experience: I am very keen on shopping primarily small business. I have gone here since they've opened. I came in with PS4, cleaned, all wires and controller. It had a removable skin on it and the left stick "was a little jumpy". So, I was offered $4 in store credit... You're joking right? I could tear the thing apart and sell the parts for MORE. I know the economy is harsh, I sell within this community too. This is absolutely ridiculous, and to do this to your own community at that is kinda a slap in the face. I miss old school Cool Stuff, even when game stop sold lower, they always helped people out. Online I was offered $125 online and they send me shipping. I hope they don't remove this. EDIT: STAFF IS GREAT THEY DID NOTHING WRONG AND ARENT AT FAULT. EDIT: I WENT HOME TO WIPE MY PS4 AND THE CONTROLLER IS NOW NOT CHARGING AFTER THEY WERE THE LAST TO USE IT. THANKS FOR DESTROYING MY EQUIPMENT TOO

Fantastic experience: I have drove by this place forever and keep forgetting about going there instead of GameStop. They were super friendly, bigger selection and the 360 my 11 year old wanted was really in excellent condition at a great price. You can tell the staff there take pride in what they do and I’m sure we will be making this our new gaming location for my son!!!

Fantastic experience: Stopped in at this location today and bumped into one of their employees that I knew from back in Pennsylvania when the person was at Just Press Play. I knew right away the store was top notch and run with care. While I didn’t buy anything on this trip, I will certainly return. Lots of stuff you don’t often see in their selection, including a Fatal Fury Special for Sega CD that I haven’t seen a copy of in person since it originally shipped. Wow! Prices are reasonable and most importantly, displayed on the product so you know what you’re paying. Highly recommended!

Fantastic experience: I love this location as much as the other one! Very cool selection, the prices are pretty good. I wanted to take a second to dig into pricing specifically, because I've collected for a long time. Some are higher than street value, many are lower than the average though. But, that's kind of how the reseller market works and I'm not going to ding the store over it. If the store was empty of best sellers it would be less interesting! A good example, my wife grabbed a crochet Yoshi amiibo for about ten bucks less than eBay. A win in my book. Also, it is SO important to remember that retro games inflated really high over the last few years. Again, I think VG Heaven isn't milking that and is just trying to move product at a fair price. You WILL get a better deal (and not wait for shipping) in most cases. Deals are fair on things like Pokemon, but even second hand Pokemon is all over the place and has been for a bit. That said, there are different items at each store. This one had a TON of Gundam compared to when I went to Chesapeake last year. Both are pretty figure heavy and plush heavy. And both stores obviously have a different selection of games and I think gacha games as well. I recommend visiting both and then if you want to get overwhelmed with OTHER cool things go check out Cool Stuff. I'm not a local but visit yearly and I always make it a point to check these stores out.

Negative experience: they do not even deserve this one star i brought in a 3ds xl and they tried nd tell me it was worth 12 dollars because the joystick was broken but when i asked her to show me she tried to change the subject i took it directly to 2 more video game stores and they told me nothing was wrong with it and it was worth 250-300 and paid me 175 so unless your buys something stay away they are just trying to get one over on you and try and sound smart but cant back up their accusations

Fantastic experience: Everyone is always willing to help with your current and vintage video games and consoles. Don't forget all the posters and memorabilia from animation to gaming. I personally have purchased over 75 vintage Nes games and all work perfectly. Don't forget to get a free membership for future savings if you haven't already.

Negative experience: The prices in this place are so high, I legitimately found the same games I wanted on DK Oldies for considerably cheaper. Used Wii joycons for $2 less than new retail, vintage nes games for almost double everyone else and systems priced like they were special edition when they are the basic unlimited editions. We went in and all the employees were too busy talking about something on the computer screen and catering to one customer who was making a huge $10 purchase. What happened? They used to be so much more reasonable. I understand using inflation as a reason like literally everyone is but they still pay the same if not slightly less that they used to for stuff.

Fantastic experience: Matt the manager here was extremely friendly and helpful , he solved my issue we with no problem whatsoever. Every time we come here the staff is always amazing. If you're looking for anything gaming, use this store!

Positive experience: TO BE CLEAR THIS IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE LOCAL GAME SHOPS. Great selection: You will not find the collection of items the have in one place anywhere else locally or online. Rare games, consoles, figures, and more. The quality is always great and never had an issue with an item not working. Way overpriced: You will absolutely get good deals here. Although, some consoles and standard games can be purchased cheaper in other places or online, if you want to invest the time. Don't really know about their other items as I don't purchase those too often, mainly for the kids.

Positive experience: Awesome store but a little pricey. You can get most of the items here cheaper on the internet, but you're essentially paying a premium for the experience. Definitely worth it.

Fantastic experience: Incredible selection of games at a reasonable price. I was super happy to find Digital Devil Saga 1&2 in great condition, with their cases and manuals. They also have a nice figurine collection, if you're interested in that!

Negative experience: Stopped in to check out the N64 and PS2 games and while they had a good selection, the prices were out of this world. They had most games priced for $40 over the amount they should be. Please save yourself the trip!

Negative experience: If you are okay with paying a little bit more then I would recommend giving this store a visit. They do have a wide variety of retro games selection, however I feel like they overpriced it unlike any other retro games store I’ve been to. Their figurine and other kawaii things such as anime figurines are priced reasonably though. I buy figurines myself and prices can be very expensive. I also saw they had the Pokémon blind boxes and it’s one of the cheapest prices I’ve ever seen, hence why I gave 2 stars.

Positive experience: Update. Misinformation was given to me by an employee. The young lady who sold me this game unit told me you can buy games and use them in this unit. In fact you can not do that. Not sure I would have paid $100 knowing that. A bit disappointed and frustrated. Had to lower my star rating. Please know what you are talking about before we spend our hard earned $ @ your establishment.

You guys were exceptionally patient and welcoming with not only us, but all of the customers that entered the store. There were a pair of customers that complained and accused them of refusing service and prioritizing other “things,” but that is just not the case - we were there and saw what happened. They clearly informed the customers that they were currently in the middle of a trade in and that it would unfortunately take a while - almost close to closing time (8pm) & offered them a solution by directing the customers to their sister store “Cool Stuff” as they close at 9. Amanda and Mandy were truly wonderful and professional. Will be back again for future selling and trade-ins.

Negative experience: This location promised me a deal. Once I arrived the older gentlemen that worked there refused the deal. I contacted the owner "Jim" and he was just as helpful. I was a little upset at first but figured it could be worse. I could be 45 years old working at a video game store. - In reply to the owners response, that's simply not true. I never thought I was entitled to any deal. I always called prior to visiting to see if they had X amount of copies and if they could do it for my asking price. I didn't just show up and demand they give me all your prized copies of Quarter Back Club '98 for a $1 each.

Fantastic experience: Wow! There is an employee who went above and beyond for me today. As a collector I’ve been to numerous video game stores and not one of them ever gave me the experience like today. I came in with a beat up copy of F-Zero on the GameCube and I wanted it re-surfaced, this employee was not only extremely helpful but she was EXCITED to help and did. After the first attempt, no luck. The disc did not work and I figured it wouldn’t. I was ready to give up on it but it was her idea to give it another try in the resurfacing machine and long behold it worked. As she was doing this for me she was also slammed with other customers and phone calls as well. Clearly stressed she never once showed it and kept a smile on her face. This is what retro games are about, loving what you do and making money while doing it. If you plan on going to a retro game store in the area, this is the one to go to. All the other employees have always been helpful as well as well. But give this girl a raise lol

Fantastic experience: My new favorite store. Came in to browse the ps2 selection and get an old disc resurfaced as I'm just getting back into collecting/playing ps2 games. The staff were friendly and efficient, but also knowledgeable about what they were selling. I came in and saw every single game I had planned on buying thru amazon, a RARITY these days. I picked up a couple new games and had my disc resurfaced, but I will be back time and time again for the AMAZING game library, awesome trade values, and friendly gamers who actually seem to care about what they do. 10/10 HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

They have movies, board games, and animals stuff.

Negative experience: Store was clean, and the selection was alright.The staff were crowded around one of the check out terminals loudly yelling and playing a game. Difficult to really hear above them, and seemed a bit irritated when we had to interrupt them to ask for a game.

Negative experience: Was told that they could gix my xbox one x. Gave very descriptive details of multiple error codes and they said it would be fine to repair. Wasnt untiall after nothing got fixed and apparently warranty voided for a sticker that got rubbed off did i have to go out to the repair facility and have them tell me they couldnt fix certain codes if they appeared. Just hardware. So false advertising and failure to repair device after 2 seperate attempts. Do not trust them with repairs Wasted time and money

It’s small but they make great use of the space and I called ahead to make sure that they had some games I was looking for which they easily put aside for me. There are several well-stocked glass cases on the walls for all the console systems with used games for sale as well as accessories. I was able to get an Xbox 360 Kinect for $9.99 as well as 4 games I was looking for all for less than $50! The gals inside were helpful and it was neat and tidy with some little new items up front for collectors. Easy in and out from Lynnhaven Parkway just a few blocks from Lynnhaven mall in a strip mall with loads of nearby parking.
