Fantastic experience: The best retro gaming shop in town, run by an owner that is a pillar of the community. Not only do they have a fun selection of old games in great condition but they also adopt a high number of cats through their store. I've also done sell/trade-in through their store of my old gaming items and they have the fairest prices in town. I'm glad we have a place like this in Albuquerque!

Negative experience: I hate to make reviews like this, as I was a loyal fan for years. But, recently it's been rough with a certain blonde employee, I had inquired about selling some of my games and consoles, and mentioned that there were clear scratches but nonetheless working fine. And they gave me a quote, and said it would be okay. I had brought it in after the buying time due to work, and said it was okay to return tomorrow and the quote would still be valid. I went in the day after and certain blonde employee shut me down even though I had explained that another employee had said the console was fine to be bought. I wouldn't be writing this, if I hadn't been treated rudely or ignored as other customers were in store. I come from Los Lunas and after getting off work the last thing I want to do is drive all the way to the east side of albuquerque just to waste my time.

Fantastic experience: If you're reading this you better get your butt to Games anonymous!! They have the best selection of old games in all of the Albuquerque area. The most Sega games I've seen in one place since 1994. It was crazy. Staturn. SNES. GBA. PS2 and 3 and 4 and 5 and maybe some 6 in the back? Never know. Wii. Turbografx. (Who even knows what that is?) I was beyond over the moon here. The staff is super duper friendly and the trade in values for games was fair. I promise I was not paid for this review, but I wouldn't mind a kick back. I've been many times now and it's always a treat to see what they have. This place is better than any place in Texas I've been to. I might move here just to come here daily or get a job here if I'm lucky

Fantastic experience: Gamers Anonymous is hands down one of the best gaming spots in New Mexico. The setup is awesome, the equipment is well-maintained, and the atmosphere is welcoming whether you’re a casual gamer or really competitive. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely cares about making sure everyone has a great experience. Events are well run, prices are fair, and it’s a great place to meet other gamers. Highly recommend to anyone who loves gaming!

Fantastic experience: Great place, great prices, I just wish they opened earlier.

Negative experience: Usually have a decent time here, but as other reviews have said one of their employees - seems to be the one girl on staff, has been extremely rude and difficult to interact with. We were looking to sell some of our games today, and we called ahead as we live in Santa Fe and needed to make sure the drive would be worth it. She picked up the phone, we made our inquiries, everything seemed fine. We were told that they'd be good to look at our stuff until 6pm and we let them know we'd get there asap but close to that time. But we got here around 5:45 pm and were told they ran out of cash, and then sassed by this same girl saying "we only accept resells til 6" which obviously no duh Sherlock that's why we got here before that. Additionally, running out of cash and not having a policy to take callback numbers in case of this type of scenario is quite frankly very short-sighted and disrespectful of people's time, especially when we'd let them know during the phone call that we were from out of ABQ and would need time to get to the store. Again, this exact employee reassured us that we'd be completely alright to do so, only to be extremely rude when we got there instead. Not worth the drive, not worth all this hassle.

Negative experience: Bought 3 consoles Xbox PS5 Nintendo, they all had mad dust and roaches. When i called with complaints the employee "Mo" said who cares?! Huh?!

Negative experience: I went in to find a game for my kids and I wasn't greeted. Just told "they don't have it" When i asked for Mario Kart. I actually found it. And she said "they're too busy to know". Super rude.

Fantastic experience: This place does disk resurfacing for cd, dvd and blue ray for about 2.50 a disk. And did mine on the house after going around town. Thank you.

Fantastic experience: I went in looking for a Charging cable for a beloved Game Boy Advance SP. They had a good selection of games on sale, but of course the older and more rare a game is. The more expensive it is. The store is situated in a strip mall, so there was plenty of space. Though they only have 2 registers, so of the store is busy, be ready to practice patients.

Fantastic experience: I was only visiting the area for a few weeks but hit this place up both Saturdays and had a wonderful time of my visits. Lots of good games to choose from and for reasonable prices. Not gonna be able to come here anytime soon but definitely recommend

Fantastic experience: A frequent stop for me! I don't live in the area. BUT there's always some really cool finds at this location. I came in for a GameBoy Advanced SP charger. Priced below $20, fit my handheld. Service was quick, easy, and knowledgeable. I'd check this place out of you're looking for a used console as well! They definitely have some older models of PlayStations for collectors and even some newer ones at a decreased price (fairly) vs new ones!

Fantastic experience: Fun Place with endless games. Its an online Venue so Take your Gaming profiles and sign in Information for a seamless integration. Easy going , provides snacks and drinks. Host's events for kids, Son loved it. Again take your sign on information youll need it for Digital Account Pairing.

Negative experience: over the past 3 years the price on games has been ridiculous, I use to go get a bunch a games for like 40 50 $ thats not the case now. I recommend buying ur used games online and not get scammed by this people. Its a shame I use to buy from there alot they just became like noble at this point .

Fantastic experience: Came in recently while on vacation and left with games I'd been searching for for years back home but easily found here. The store has a great atmosphere as well and the staff was great, complimenting the selection of games my husband and I bought. A few days prior to my trip, I called in asking about their selection of imported games. The lady on the phone was very friendly and suggested we try a different store in Los Lunas that specialized more in what I was looking for, but I made sure to come to Gamers Anonymous and give them my business as well and I'm glad I did. Highly recommend.

Negative experience: This store has always been a great experience but lately everytime were here the lady there always makes its a bad experience, an we always buy expensive games here an drop money, so just her making it bad everytime we come is just rude, sadly we are cutting ties with this place. They are not kid friendly a they make rules as they go I don’t see no signs of rules other than no backpack or large bags. Other than that the other workers were a bliss an helpful. And they did not have. Problem with us.

Positive experience: It’s kind of a hole in the wall place that’s very claustrophobic feeling and they get all these cool demo things up, but none of them are plugged in or working given it kind of like a seedy look. Staff was incredibly friendly though and helpful and displaying a large inventory they didn’t have I was looking for which was disappointing.

Negative experience: The system I bought was dirty and the store was to hot and uncomfortable. Service was ok but thinks need to be better for the prices that are charged.

Fantastic experience: I bought my ps5 from them a few months ago , it’s perfect no issues whatsoever just the charger didn’t work but it’s no biggie lol i never went back so it’s on me but i totally was nervous buying pre owned but i love my console and for a great price i couldn’t be happier !!!!

Negative experience: Every time i walk into this place the staff makes me feel like im a criminal. So i justed walk away with my money and spent 1000$ at noble collectible instead.

Fantastic experience: This store is awesome and they are so helpful. I brought in two PlayStation 2 games for resurfacing and one was noticed there were some bad scratches on the top. The employee said he had very little hope that it would play but was willing to try. Both games came out looking great and he didn’t charge me for the really bad one since it was probably too far gone. I was super impressed with the service and good spirits. Really an awesome store.

This is the reason I am a loyal customer and if they had some sort of loyalty or points program I'd sign up in 5 seconds. Fantastic experience: This store allowed me to relive my childhood through its nostalgic environment and its blast from the past gaming inventory. The staff was very knowledgeable and helpful in answering all my questions. I was able to play a gameboy color, and "Wow!" I was relieving my childhood. Overall, it's an amazing store with retro gaming as its focus. In the words of the T-800, "I'll be back!"

Negative experience: Mid store at best. Annoying loud gaming music. The store smells terrible. No restroom until 1400 but you have to use the potty next door. Unorganized games. Severe lack of quality games such as Silent Hill, Parasite Eve, Metal Gear Solid, etc. Good thing is that they have really clean and affordable retro consoles (PS1/2, GameCube, N64, etc).

Fantastic experience: I love this place! We found what we were looking for. Purchased a console and decided it wasn't going to work for me and they gladly exchanged it for something that i knew would. The transaction was easy. We will come back again! I recommend this place for anyone looking for retro gaming consoles/games! :)

Fantastic experience: Truly a great videogame store. It's always a pleasure to walk in and look at their stock. Staff is super friendly, and they have a wide selection of modern and retro games/consoles. I have been to other stores in the area but GA is the one I keep coming back to.

Fantastic experience: I had a box full of childhood games and consoles that I took in to sell. I had the pleasure of working directly with the owner due to the amount of things I had. He was beyond knowledgeable and extremely transparent with everything that they were able to buy. I left there with my expectations exceeded by 110% as a seller and with more money than other stores had offered. The staff is friendly and attentive, truly cares about the gaming industry. They are quick to answer questions on inventory over the phone however they are always stocked with new items when I stop in. I bought my family a used ps5 console and some games and have had zero issues. Keep up the great work! Thank you.

Fantastic experience: Great little retro game store with some modern as well. Prices are decent and they typically have a nice collection of consoles as well available. As of writing this review it looks like they are doing some remodeling on the interior as a heads up however.

Fantastic experience: By far the best store for retro games in Albuquerque. They have a smaller selection, but it is high quality and often has the games I'm looking for. In terms of consoles they usually have more than just the most common varieties. Where this place really shines is customer service. They are helpful, knowledgeable, and curteous. Over the last decade, I have never had any issues with rude or dismissive employees. This store has a local charm that is very difficult to come by in a video game store these days. I highly recommend!

Recently, I purchased a PS4 from them, only to discover very sticky buttons on the controller upon use. Considering we are all human, I completely understand how busy they are, so this was most likely a mistake made with checking the quality of the controller before pairing it with a console. Fantastic experience: Service was amazing. I went with a ps vita because I thought they did repairs but they didn't and they were so nice in reassuring me and were extremely helpful. Totally recommend going. It's so great you don't even need to bring money, it feels great to just look around and play the little games and read the magazines. Overall great place and I love the staff.❤️

Negative experience: Scammers, liers they nitpick anything wrong with a trade, and tell you they can only take it for parts or can't get full value for it, and low ball you ridiculous. Then put it on the shelf for full value. I sold them a $110 game they said it had a flaw and only offered $10 I took it not wanting to sell a broken game to someone. I saw it on the shelf and confirmed it was my copy they were selling it for $90. This has happened multiple times and I can not continue to do business with this shady company.

Negative experience: Not a great place the staff just do not care when I asked questions they just have short responses. I would rather take my money elsewhere and the sad thing is that I was looking forward to going to this place I wish I was better just go to 8 bit is Santa Fe or noble games this place is not it

Fantastic experience: Great place for pre-owned PS2 and PS3 games with reasonable prices! I bought a PS3 game there for only 5$. Whereas someone was trying to sell that game online to me for 10$. Only cons is, they don't have a big selection of games.

Fantastic experience: Was sold a Gamecube controller with a right trigger that wasn't pushing down all of the way and so wouldn't register the command. Called, told them my situation, told me to come in. I came in the next day and they gave me a set aside Gamecube controller they had as well as my reprinted receipt (as I had lost the original). The process was instant and the lady at front was extremely nice and professional. TLDR; excellent customer service

Negative experience: This place used to be good like 10 years ago... the workers are rude, schedule something and make you go down that way to find out they can't do what they scheduled you for... better off going to Noble or online for Retro games this place ain't it no more

Negative experience: This seems like a cool place but their repair section needs some work. I took a console for repair months ago. I had to repeatedly call to ask for status, each time it seemed like they were just rummaging around in some back closet filled with unmarked consoles. I had to explain the request each time again over the phone and each time I was told I would hear back within the week, of course I never did. I eventually went back in person months later and at first they tried to give me some random other console that had been sitting in their backroom that somehow got a post-it note with my name put on it. Guys... just make a spreadsheet or something. ANY sort of process would help.

Fantastic experience: Visited the store during my family vacation in Albuquerque. Instantly greeted with genuine smiling faces right when we walked in and were asked if I was looking for anything in particular. I was browsing so replied accordingly and their responses were still incredibly upbeat. Definitely 5 stars for the two employees. The store was nicely laid out with solid inventory. I only ended up buying 5 stickers and a PS2 game but the prices were reasonable, especially the CIB Sega Saturn they had for $190...I almost pulled the trigger and bought it. Overall it's one of the better gaming stores I've been to, I highly recommend it to anyone.

Fantastic experience: I very rarely write reviews but my experience with Gamers Anonymous was so good that I felt compelled to! I sold some old gaming collectibles/ statues here and Kitty was incredibly patient and kind. The prices they offered were very fair and the whole experience was very pleasant. Plus, the store is SO cool inside! Definitely give this place a visit.

Fantastic experience: Gamers Anonymous is a good store for finding used Ps2 games and for getting technical services done, such as laser replacements at a decent price. Thanks to Jimmy the Genius, I can now relive old memories and play my ps2 because he diligently repaired it with a new laser to read the game's.

Fantastic experience: So today I tried to go trade my sealed copy of animal crossing to game stop and they would not take it because it was sealed. So I googled game store and found this gem. Let me tell you they were super kind and extremely helpful. This place literally made me feel like I was a kid again in the game store. They have an awesome collection of games and they give you a very good value for your trade ins. I will never go to gamestop again now that I have found gamers anonymous. Please don't go to gamestop go here instead these guys rock! Thank you to the guys working on Sunday the 12th at 530pm I didn't catch your names buy thank you guys for making me enjoy going to a game store again!

Negative experience: Ok place to buy games, terrible place to sell games. Only sell here if you want to support a local business but expect around a 75% mark down as apposed to ebay or other online retailers.

Never had a problem with anything, all of my games and systems have worked PERFECTLY! Prices are definitely the best in Albuquerque. And I would also like to give a compliment to a certain employee "R.B." for his outstanding customer service! R.B. has always gone above and beyond to help me find what I'm looking for, and he has been polite, patient, friendly, and professional. It is employees like him that make a shopping experience great!

Positive experience: Loved this shop! Everyone working here was very friendly. Loads of cool gaming nostalgia, plushies, and gear. I enjoyed seeing locally made gaming artwork on the walls. Unfortunately, they were lacking cardboard for SNES/Genesis and I didn't see a Dreamcast section. The place was a bit disorganized at first glance and hard to really find what you're looking for. If they're busy then you're kind-of on your own for finding what you want, which is a struggle to say the least. Overall, still a cool shop to peruse gaming nostalgia!

Fantastic experience: Stellar selection across all consoles. If I lived in Albuquerque this would be my main game store but sadly I was just visiting and window shopping on my visit. They had so many in box amiibos, several rare consoles, a bunch of cool figures on display, and a lot of strategy guides if those are your thing. Their service was great and the two people I spoke to seemed knowledgeable about the products, which is always appreciated.

Positive experience: This place is still run by cool people but prices are all over the place. Import games are definitely over what they should be but not as bad as other places I've been. Most Xbox/Playstation prices are pretty decent but for the uncommon games they go off of months old pricecharting listings (Phantom Dust has no reason to be $90 still, same with Gunvalkrye at $40 in a rental case with a beat up manual). Nintendo prices CAN be pretty egregious, with some titles going for double their price charting listings. I get that they can't have their prices like they used to with how volatile the market is right now, but I wish an effort would be made to fairly maintain them. Every time I go in it seems like there's more games than when I came in last time, telling me that they're getting a lot of trades from people trying to strike while the iron is hot, but not enough people are buying from them to keep a balanced stock. I hope this changes because this place has been an Albuquerque institution for years, I hate to see it in it's current state but I'd hate it even more for it to go under.
