GameStop: Reviews
Negative experience: I hope that lady gets fired she was stealing money from the cashier and being extremely rude to the customers and touching people's belongings without the owners permission and saying they got it covered with no extra charges over the phone and then in person they say there is a charge this place is horrible I have nothing nice to say about this location and employees me and my brother Toby walked out frustrated and pissed that's how bad this location is too me and my brother Toby if I could give this location a 0 I would in a heartbeat
Negative experience: Saw a be back in 30 sign, waited for over an hour. I watched 10+ customers walk away at the door. There was an employee who was inside the entire time, some individuals came and said they waited and came before I did (Over an hour of waiting they came and hr prior) Shopped around, came back and the sign was up. The employee was a short, heavy set, black lady with a silver septum and a gold eyebrow piercing. She acknowledged me and the others standing outside, and proceeded to stall for another hour. Get her fired.
Negative experience: This location has really gone down hill. An order I would place for a game kept getting cancelled. I was unsure as to why, and I went in store to find out. Only to be told by Cyra in a rude and condescending way, that they were holding the game for another customer and that it wouldn't be sold to me! Presumably being held for an employee... It was Pokémon emerald, a popular game. They were in a way denying me service, I was there in the moment to purchase the game. And I ordered it twice online on two different days for store pickup before hand! But they refused to fulfill the order to hold it for someone else. Great way to treat a regular! I spoke with employees at the other GameStops to see if it's allowed and was told it isn’t. So the employee(s) who kept canceling my order and putting that I requested the cancellation was not doing their job correctly. I was told that for pre owned games they can hold it for an hour at the maximum. Not two days, or up to the two weeks like Cyra said. Would leave a zero star review if I could. This whole experience felt unwelcoming, and rude.
Negative experience: Not how it was a couple of months ago. The employees are rude.
Negative experience: Lady working was rude, didn't seem to want to help and seemed irritating looking something up.
Positive experience: I never thought I would see the day when I would prefer big-box stores to buy physical copies of games, but here we are. I still like the idea of GameStop, but every time I come here it feels sort of rundown, like I'm almost surprised they're open. I still try to buy new titles here so the physical game industry doesn't disappear, but this place feels like a pawn shop.
Fantastic experience: Really helpful employees
Negative experience: There is one worker there, I am not sure their name, but if you encounter her, you will know…. She treats every interaction like it’s the last thing on earth she wants to do. She is so dismissive, rude, and her attitude is awful. Worst of all, she answer the phone, say “one second”, puts you on hold and never comes back. I’m sick of calling, and her answering the phone. If you are in the Springs, visit literally any other GameStop… it’s a shame because I love the manager, and her careless employe is dragging down business. I hope she sees this and reflects. I would give a 0 star if it wasn’t for the kind manager. I really do feel for her. The sooner that employee is either taught customer service or is fired, the better for her. And I wish the manager nothing but the best.
Negative experience: Tried to go by to verify hours. Nobody answered the phone. So I drove by while it was still open. Door was locked despite being open for 15 more minutes. Guess I’ll spend my money elsewhere.
Negative experience: Asked about a price on their shelf showing a controller for $30. Tells me the price is wrong and it’s $50, but I bet they’ll try to sell this game as $100 price they have it for when it’s only worth $15.00, but they have it priced as the wrong system game (n64). Every time I’ve come here it never fails they “price wrong” or haven’t changed the prices and never honor what they have.
Negative experience: When do gamestop sat there for 10 minutes cause there was a sign that said back in 30 minutes? And we left,
Negative experience: Normally don’t have problems here, We felt very uncomfortable because the 2 workers did not greet or ask us for help. But they loudly continued to talk about Disney with sensual feelings on characters. They did not seem pleasant to see us as if they didn’t like us by the way we looked or that we was interrupting their conversation about Disney and anime character's. Can’t say i look forward to this store i will continue to go to the academy location from now on. The workers treat you like human beings there.’
Negative experience: Stopped by GameStop at 1:37 PM, but the store had a sign saying ‘On break, back at 3.’ I get breaks are needed, but a 90-minute closure in the middle of the day isn’t customer-friendly. I’d appreciate if you guys had more employees so customers aren’t left waiting for that long. Just saw more people walking up and walking away because of the sign.
Negative experience: Horrible customer service
Negative experience: The phone rings like two times and then it hangs up on you and says all associates are busy. Trash customer service.
Fantastic experience: Paige helped me setup my account and was great at explaining everything to me. Thank you so much Paige! Highly recommend this location!
Negative experience: The worst staff and customer service in town. In any industry.
Negative experience: Very disappointed in this location, I placed a pre-order for a funko pop that was said to be released in January. I didn’t receive a call to notify me on the release to pick up. I called, which was a tooth and nail to get a hold of somebody on the phone. I came in after failing to get ahold of somebody. They looked up my pre-order and said “sorry it’s out of stock and all we can do is refund you”. I’m sorry, what??? I placed a pre-order and NEVER got a call. For somebody who needs my phone everyday for work I never miss calls. No repeat calls or voicemails left for me. Just a simple let’s not reach out to the customer. Not to mention, instead of giving me my money back. They can only refund me back in STORE CREDIT. GameStop needs to do better.
Fantastic experience: Great selection of action figures.
Positive experience: Overpriced, did not have sealed Pokemon product
Negative experience: I looked online and the price for pre owned Switch was $199. It was also marked as that in the case when I got to the store. The woman refused to honor it claiming the price went up to $240 today and she just hadn’t changed it yet. That’s pretty poor- you can’t legally mark something in a case for $199, have it online for that price, and then try to charge someone more for it. When I tried to talk to her about it she ignored me and started talking to someone else in the store.
Positive experience: Kids liked it.
Negative experience: This is the worst gamestop to try and stop by because they only ever have one employee and I think he sleeps in the back or something because he’s always got it locked when they are supposed to be open. 3rd time I’ve stopped by and he’s not there with a sticker on the door on the open sign on.
Fantastic experience: Went there a while back to grab the new mario kart worlds game, the guy working set it aside for me, and was very helpful with the pro mebership renewal
Negative experience: On game release day I called and they said they would be open from 9-10pm. I showed up at 9:36 (as soon as I could get there), and the door was locked but lights on and two employees standing at the registers. I knock on the door and one employee glances at me and the other pretended I didn’t exist. I stood there for over 5 minutes waiting before they shut the lights off without ever even talking to me. I will gladly drive to any other store from now on.
Negative experience: Awful customer service. I wanted FIFA 18 to play the world cup mode on, so I was planning to just order it from their website since they rarely have games like that in stock. However, after checking, the website said that they had the game in stock at this store near me. Still doubting in my mind, I decided to call just to double check. They then confirmed it and said they would set it aside for me when I got there. When I arrived I asked for it and after some searching they pulled out a disk in a paper disk case. The lady there said that since there was no case for it they would put it random dummy case, no worries there at all. However as I was walking out I decided to check the game to make sure I got the one I was looking for. But when I opened up the case the disk was not a FIFA 18, but F1 2018. Oh well, a simple misunderstanding is what I thought at first, so I just went in to return it. However, the employee stated that she had noticed that the game was different and that it just must have been mis-marked and no FIFA 18 was in stock. Huh? Were they hoping I was just gonna walk out of there with a totally different game then I called ahead and asked for? The employee had to have seen the disk at least 5 times after searching for FIFA 18, ( after I called to make sure it was there) and entirely neglected to let me know that it was a totally different game. Even more frustrating was the fact then when I got home to order it on their website it was going to be nearly double the price to have it shipped. I then, not really expecting anything to happen, messaged GameStop's customer service asking if they would honor the price since they assured me that the game was in stock even though wasn't. No response. Honestly I used to like GameStop but this time around there service was so horrendous it makes me never want to shop there again. I mean, come on! At least reply and let me know they wont honor the price. Im not the guy to relentlessly complain about every other thing that goes wrong but Im left pretty frustrated about this. I hope your experience is different!
Negative experience: This was the worst experience I could get at an establishment I called asking to see if they had any power cords for an Xbox one and or a ps4 pro and was told they didn’t have any but no one cared to look or try to help me in anyway even though in there display case they were selling a both ps4 pros and Xbox ones probably with the power cords
Fantastic experience: I have a friend here that REALLY likes this gamestop. Something about being a different person here. I think they meant it as a good thing? Well either way that's one big fat W from me! They REALLY like the employees here. A lot. Good for you guys! Yeah. I also heard there might be copies of Raven's Vindication the Game? Please check that out for me sometime soon if you can...thanks!
Fantastic experience: Incredible staff!!!!!
Negative experience: Don't bother coming here for pokemon cards it is a waste of time, especially if it is release day they will give product to someone else even if they don't have a gamestop account ready they will start the set up process put what they want to the side and if it's the last one tough shit for you.
Fantastic experience: Great customer service, honestly one of the best experiences I’ve had at a GameStop. I recommend this GameStop!
Negative experience: Rude trashy employee, won’t be back
Negative experience: Went in the to buy some games. Got 4 games for the 4 for 40 deal and 3 other games i liked. Got to register and price on one game for 4 for 40 changes by ten dollars making it no longer eligible. I state this to cashier. She says i can give you 10% off. This does not cover the 50 dollar price increase from game 1 increasing in price and not getting the deal. I state this and she says i cant do anything . This is why gamestop is going down the drain. It was hard enough to find 4 games under 20 for the deal but the system doesnt even honor the deal
Fantastic experience: Paige and the team she works with at this GameStop deserve a massive raise. They actually care about the customers as people and when I needed a bit of out of the box solutions to solve for my Kids Pokemon birthday, Paige came through for me and made me a birthday hero. I cannot express enough how amazing and kind this store is. I will never go elsewhere while they are around.
Fantastic experience: Great experience lots of games plushes shirts funkos controllers and many more staff was great respectful helpful and efficient
Negative experience: The two female employees that were there had no idea what customer service means.
Negative experience: Sales clerk was condescending and annoying throughout the entire purchase process, but he did help me save a few bucks.
Negative experience: This location is the absolute worst at answering their phones. I called a few times in a couple of hours span and nobody ever picked up. I drove to the parking lot, called just to see and still nothing. I went in and there wasn’t a single customer and both employees that were there were just standing behind the register counter eating food talking to one another. Terrible customer service.
Negative experience: Close at like 6pm not 9pm
Negative experience: Came in today 12/13/24 at about 730 pm, store looked closed as the open sign was turned off, I think the employee turned it off, as he's attitude suggested I was interrupting he's cell phone scrolling time, I asked about demon slayer merchandise and he said absolutely nothing at all, just kept staring at he's phone, I asked a question about an item without a price tag on it, and again he seemed upset he had to get off he's phone and answer a customers question, and to top all things off the store was a disaster,
Negative experience: The sales guy is too slow
Negative experience: They had a lot of products with the wrong pricing on them Thats false advertising i will be contacting corporate Customer service could've been better they're more focused on talking to each other than customers The store was a hot mess boxes everywhere I didnt even know where the register was with all the trash on the counter
Fantastic experience: Great service helped my kids with there games they wanted
Fantastic experience: Great
Negative experience: 6/26/24 2:45pm I walked in the door with a stack of games I wanted to trade in and when I walked in the lady hanging headsets on the wall told me hello to which I replied hello!. I set all my games on the counter and wait for her to come over and help. After 20 min and standing at the counter and watching her get down grab more stuff and stare at me then go back up the ladder I said thanks for you’re help and left. If this is how you treat customers I’m not surprised about GameStop going out of business
Negative experience: Gamestop was very boring. The wirkd did not know about any new games coming out. And thet did not try to up sell me.
Negative experience: Well did give it 4 stars 2 years ago and has been my go to until low and behold they gave away my pre-order. Nothing for the inconvenience just sorry, was the new person.
Negative experience: Very hesitant to continue going to this location. Before preordering some Funko Pops I was explicitly reassured I would be called when they came in. Sure enough they were out on the sales floor when I went in, no call. Having managed multiple Gamestops for many years, this is unacceptable. Its a shame to see how far this company has fallen.
Negative experience: I waited over half hour for the rep to help other customers that came in after me just because the previous person had messed up my buyback. I finally had to tell the guy that I needed to leave and get the situation resolved. He rang in many controllers and kept getting lower priced controllers in exchange for one that I paid 54.99 for. I ended up with a used controller that was valued at 39.99. I will find a more competent team to work with in the future
Negative experience: Will not honor their exchange policy on my console
Fantastic experience: Always love coming to GameStop always very nice and informative about games
Negative experience: I bought a refurbished Xbox series s. An a Xbox one controller came with it.
Negative experience: I have 2 xbox series X/S games and a Samsung Galaxy Gear4 watch I was trying to trade or sell. They wouldnt take any of it. Gamestop is a JOKE.
Negative experience: It just kills the customers time and doesn’t accept trade in for the most stupid things.
Negative experience: If I could put zero stars I would the employees are extremely arrogant. Truth be said the owners are losing more money than making with this location.
Fantastic experience: Sorry for gender assuming but the girl working 5/13 afternoon was doing a tremendous job! I had to pick up an order and she informed me she'd only been there 3 weeks. With such a busy release weekend and Zelda fans flooding the store somehow she was staying afloat with a gentleman who'd only been there 3 days. I did not catch her name but keep up the great work and thank you for the great attitude, 2 thumbs up!
Fantastic experience: Polite, friendly, and courteous as always
Fantastic experience: Had exactly what I was looking for. Very pleasant
Fantastic experience: I went into this store because I was having an issue with a manager at another store. I was trying to buy my wife a game she has been wanting as well as buy myself some birthday presents for myself and the first location and believe it or not the manager at this first location made it extremely hard to spend my money and by the time I was done at this store I didn’t want to purchase anything for myself and wanted to leave. There was also another employee at the store his name was (Cole) he was just helping the store manager at that location for a few minutes and then returning to his regular store. His regular store is this one that I am reviewing and giving a 5 Star review for. Cole saw that I was upset at the situation at the first store and told him I was leaving the first store and not buying anything because of the problem I was having with the manager (I had a problem spending my money on a birthday present for myself) Cole told me that he was leaving and going back to his store and if I wanted to meet him over at his store he would do his best to help me out and get me taken care of. So I went to this store that I am reviewing right now and met Cole here and he proceeded to take his time and help me pick out everything I was looking for and then some! Cole I appreciate you taking the time to help me out and changing the outcome of my day. I am sure if you go to this store all of the employees here are great and if you get the opportunity have Cole help you out. Thank you once again!!
Fantastic experience: Good customer service.
Negative experience: Let me order a game via the app showing they had a single copy. Called the store around 3:30pm 4pm. Associate said she get to the online orders since they were swamped and they would be ready by 6pm. Get to the store at 7 to pick up the order that was supposed to be ready. Ask about my order in the store, Associate tells me my order has to be decline.
Positive experience: Un buen surtido de productos
Positive experience: Good deals!
Positive experience: Barebones stock and cluttered. I see ads online for all the merch they carry now and went in to do some Christmas shopping for the kids, but they are still 99% used games. The shirts they had were just stuffed in cubbies and I could only find 2XL sizes. Barely any merch
Positive experience: Nice store, super friendly and helpful employees, lots of games and gaming-oriented merchandise to choose from.
Positive experience: Not a bad store just too busy.
Negative experience: There are many employees I have seen here that have been full of themselves and have given bad customer service. I’ve also had multiple occasions where I have pre-ordered a game and they did not have my pre-order. I am sad to say that I will not be returning to GameStop and will be taking my business elsewhere to get my pre-orders on time.
Fantastic experience: Not bad. People that work there are nice.
Fantastic experience: Great customer service! Super nice and helpful gamers
Positive experience: Good service was checked out no problem had to buy a PlayStation card and they were very helpful?
Positive experience: Had the pre-owned game I wanted and couldn't find on my console "store"!
Fantastic experience: Josh is one of the best retail workers I have encountered! Great store. Great staff.
Positive experience: Just another gamestop. i came to sell my old xbox and got exactly that done cant really say the service was outstanding but then again i didnt expect it to be.(in general my experiences with gamestores/electronic stores have been kinda meh)
Fantastic experience: I came in and David was here helping out. Ended up going to another store later that day and he was there too! He was amazing and really helped me find what I wanted. Expert advice and ran the store by himself while it was super busy
Fantastic experience: Good little store to find Pokemon items. My grandson loves it and has no trouble finding what he is looking for.
Positive experience: Ordered a game online and they had it ready when I came in. Knocked a star cause the place smelled like farts.
Fantastic experience: Great people. Very helpful.
Fantastic experience: Good selection of new & used games, merch, & collectables. Clean store, customer service is .
Fantastic experience: Great customer service
Fantastic experience: Recently went in the store to find classic Halo CE for Xbox, you know, the original one. I ripped the games off the shelves, sweating, praying I'd find my dear sweet Halo Combat Evolved! Panic was rushing through me, and I felt dread dripping on my brow. I was positive that I must've looked like I had been shot I was in so much visual anguish. I collapsed on my knees, wheezing. Never again would I host an incredible lan party, as the boys and I would run around as Master Chief and talk about Cortana's feet... I was heartbroken. It was at this moment, a calm voice arose from behind me. "Excuse me sir, do you need any help today?" The voice, angelic in tone, soft and supple, with a firm hand that reached out to me, symbolic of God sharing his love to man. I looked up to see a handsome, well groomed chap with long brown hair, and perfectly shaped glasses. "You look like you need to find something" I was shocked. How did he know I needed something? In a Gamestop no less! He helped me to my feet, and before anything could escape my lips, he smiled and said. "A Lan party gamer, right? Boys nights?" A smile cracked through my tear stained cheeks. This man, he knew what gamers wanted, and needed. Without evening saying what I was looking for, his other hand slipped behind his back and he revealed a classic Xbox version of Halo CE. He smiled at me, a smile that stopped time. "We keep an original stash in all Gamestops, just for dedicated gamers like yourself." My jaw gaped, I was in disbelief. Before I knew it I was at the counter paying an incredibly low price for an industry shattering masterpiece of video game culture. "Whats your name?" I would stutter still in a state of disbelief. "Chase" He responded, cool and composed. "Have a great lan party!" I left the store, and haven't forgotten his name since, this moment a piercing bullet through the lobes of my memory. Every Lan Party with the boys, we pour one out for this Gamestop's greatest unsung hero, Chase. Thank you, my friend, for letting gamers, be gamers.
Positive experience: Small store. Friendly staff.
Fantastic experience: This is the nicest guy we ever met at a GameStop. Tim has been nothing but kind when we call and or come in to visit. People like him I would like to see on undercover boss as he’s so passionate about his job!
Fantastic experience: Love this store! I hope they expand further! Very relaxing when the whole world is falling apart. Always great service!
Fantastic experience: Arek went above and beyond for me! he was an amazing person and was very patient with me thru my struggles trying to figure out my account! thank you so much!
Fantastic experience: Great customer service. Go preparing to wait a little while they answer the 100 questions each customer asks (I was one of them.) They were super helpful and explain everything in detail without sounding at all condescending.
Fantastic experience: Great customer service and wonderful products. Wish I had bought stock last year...lol
Positive experience: The gentleman with glasses and red hair (there on Monday at 3:30) has amazing customer service.
Positive experience: I used to actually like going to GameStop before but it’s not worth it for me. This location had great people working here over the years that have come and gone. But as times changed so did how I have felt about GameStop in general.
Fantastic experience: Ordered online. Picked it up. Super easy!
Positive experience: They what a gamer needs
Fantastic experience: Good vibes
Fantastic experience: Max is awesome very helpful! Really nice dude I appreciate the care he puts into his job!
Fantastic experience: Are was really helpful
Fantastic experience: These guys actually know stuff about video games and this is usually where I go to get advice because most places the employees just try to push the newest biggest AAA games the fact that I actually got recommended a few older games know for quality is really awesome. Also the store looks fantastic they remodeled the actual gaming stuff takes center stage and the extras are off to the side it's like I'm actually going into GAMEstop.
Fantastic experience: Great service, always helpful
Positive experience: Best one in town for selection, cleanliness and customer service.
Fantastic experience: Knowledgeable staff who love games and provide great customer service, we will be back!
Fantastic experience: I went into this store on Easter and spoke with Arek about getting either a Wii, Wii U, or Switch. He took the time between customers to explain the differences and pros and cons of each. When I was ready to buy, I came back in on 5/25 and bought a switch, plus five games, a controller, and all the warranties for a six year old lol. I had a few more questions and Arek again was super helpful and knowledgeable. He also knows how to juggle multiple customers well in such a busy store. He is super helpful and will gladly come back again!
Fantastic experience: There is an employee here at gamestop with glasses and blonde hair he is hilarious and such a fun employee to talk about videogames with.
Negative experience: The smell was overwhelmingly BAD!
