Negative experience: The store layout is awkward - it’s somehow both cluttered and bleak which I don’t think is unique to this store. They just definitely need a rebrand. Whoever was working this morning was taking his sweet time and making everyone wait way longer than necessary. He would spend minutes trying to peer pressure you to getting a membership. There should never be only one person working that’s mismanagement. I’m sure his managers are pressuring him to get as many memberships as possible but what they don’t factor in is how awkward it is for the customer when after you turned down the initial offer for the membership they proceed to pressure you another four or five times until they finally give up.

Negative experience: Wanted to get some cards but cashier was ignoring me and on the phone, he greeted other customers when others came after us . Its nice to know they buy graded cards though. Might try it out and hope its a better experience.

Negative experience: Don’t get here when they open. We got here at 10AM (opening time) and the guy inside wouldn’t open the store until 10:12. There was a line of about 10 people waiting to get in.

Negative experience: Meh. Went today to celebrate my daughter not having to have surgery on her broken arm and dude working seemed bothered we were in the store, not the friendliest when asking a question. Oh well, there are other GameStops.

Negative experience: I went to the store today to buy my son a stranger things figurine. I bought the box for $19 & left the store & then decided to return it. The staff initially agreed to return it but I didn’t have my physical card on me so he said I could get an exchange. My son brought another box but I told him “what if it’s the same as this one”. When the staff heard this/ he assumed that I had opened the box & started to treat me like I was a criminal. He treated me very rudely & said it can’t be returned because I think you opened it. Irrelevant of whether I opened it or not / they did not tell me when they sold the product that it is non returnable of opened. I was very upset for being treated like a criminal at the counter. I wear a hijab & I wonder if this prompted this kind of a discriminative behavior. I called them & filed a formal complaint that they should have told me when I was buying it that it cannot be returned if opened. I am just a mom trying to buy a toy for my kid & it becomes a crime to try to return a box? I didn’t know buying toys for your kids could be so traumatic at GameStop. I left the box & the receipt at the counter & walked out in protest. They said on the phone that why didn’t your read the receipt. Well? Don’t your get the receipt issued after “you buy” the product. These boxes are such a scam of game stop for young kids. They want kids to spend hundreds of dollars in search of their favorite figure. Who does that? What if the company has the evil figure of Vecna in every other box so the probability of buying the unwanted Vecna goes up? Is there any accountability? This is such a corporate scam & naive parents are getting ripped off their hard earned money just like that. I told them I don’t have drug money. It’s my hard earned money. Seriously!

Negative experience: Terrible customer service. The female manager that was there today at 4pm was being super rude and after I purchased some trading cards and asked for a simple top loader or a small baggie to put the cards in, she refused to provide any for me. The gentlemen helping me was trying to find a bag for me to put the cards in and she was getting mad at him telling him not to give any of these bags away as if it came out of her paycheck. At the end I walked out without even a bag for the cards I purchased. Considering I pay for the GameStop premium subscription service after experiencing such terrible customer service I’ll be getting that cancelled ASAP. You guys need to train your managers to actually be nice to the customers, and have atleast a drop of kindness in their hearts.

Negative experience: DO NOT PRE-ORDER (or even shop) here!… I preordered borderlands 4 here after talking to the guy trying to see about a steelbook edition. They did not release a steelbook edition but he told me about a GameStop exclusive borderlands mask that’s comes with most expensive version of the preorder ($135) I wanted the game already but he talked up this exclusive item (otherwise I would have just bought it online and downloaded it at 12:01 and played asap) so I decided I will get the mask with the most expensive bundle had to wait for them to open to get my game and was then informed that they don’t have the masks the cashier did not seem apologetic nor to care and told me to to call them thru time. This was September 12th it’s not September 19th I just got off the phone with someone who told me they probably won’t even get the masks at all and didn’t seem to care that that’s a problem. They won’t refund the item AND I DID NOT GET WHAT I WAS PROMISED

Negative experience: If I could give 0 stars I would, they talked me into some big preorder because it has GameStop exclusives I go to pick it up they said they’re having difficulties and won’t know when they will be getting the exclusive and told ME to keep calling and checking, I asked if I could just return it because I don’t want to support a company that can’t organize a simple thing they refused and said I couldn’t return it, I leave the store and hear the CD bouncing around inside the sales case overall terrible experience nothing redeemable and the cashier dude was slow or something because he just didn’t see the problem why would I drive 20min out my way to get something I coulda bought online and had within seconds I only did this for the exclusive items and they didn’t even have those nor had a time period of them getting them

Fantastic experience: This is one of the cleanest GameStop locations. Love the cartoon-themed graphic tees. They were well-stocked with games. I also liked their selection of colorful headsets and play equipment. Accessible entrance and accessible parking mall-front.

Negative experience: Cashier chose to talk to another customer about donkey Kong rather then ring me up. I was ignored standing behind the guy the cashier was talking too for 5 minutes and when I went to put the product back he yelled from across the store. " Those are 30 bucks each by the way!" Like I know bro I was more then willing to buy them, I'll just use Amazon instead.

Fantastic experience: Honestly this is one of the best gamestops I've been to and it's all because of the staff. Every time I go in they are always super friendly and helpful. They treat customers very well and actually try to build and maintain relationships with their customers. They have helped me more times than I can count find games and merch that I'm looking for. I usually end up buying more than I originally planned to because they have a recommendation or 3 based on what I'm looking for.

Fantastic experience: After a terrible experience at another location in Tempe, these guys have redeemed GameStop for me. As soon as I walked in I was greeted and asked what brought me in. Immediately after the associate got to asking questions that would ultimately save me money. In the end I left with more than I originally went to get at the previous location, AND I paid less!!! This location knows what they're doing. Highly recommend! Stay away from Arizona Mills location and come see these guys!

Negative experience: My son stopped in tonight with his friends and their mother to buy a pack of pokemon cards. He was asked multiple times at the counter if he wanted to sign up for a $25 dollar membership. He's 12 years old. He politely said no, he just wanted to pay for the pokemon cards. He was continuously asked several more times (about 5 times too many) about purchasing the membership after he pulled out his wallet and the guy behind the counter saw that he was paying with a card before he was able to pay and leave. He left the store and went back shortly after because he pulled a card that he wanted and wanted to buy another pack to see if he could pull anything else. He was again, asked quite a few more times about the membership now being told he gets free this and that and he will get free pokemon cards by signing up. HE IS 12 YEARS OLD. SHAME ON YOU. Learn and pick your audience better and stop targeting young kids to earn your commission or whatever you get for anyone that signs up. He will not be allowed to return to this specific location.

Negative experience: I am absolutely appalled by the abysmal service and complete lack of professionalism at this store. Not only was the staff incredibly rude and unhelpful, but they also seemed utterly clueless about their own products. When I called the corporate phone line to lodge a complaint, the representative had the audacity to say, "That's how we do business." This speaks volumes about the company's pathetic standards and total disregard for customer satisfaction. Save yourself the frustration and avoid this place at all costs.

Negative experience: I recently visited the GameStop at Chandler Mall on a Friday night, anticipating the release of a new game I had put on hold and already paid for. Unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory due to the incredibly slow service. There were consistently around ten people waiting in line, yet only one associate was working. This poor associate was running back and forth, trying to manage the crowd and fulfill all the requests. She tried numerous times to go back into the storage to look for my game, but with so many people lining up, she had to keep running back and forth. The choice was either to look for my game or see unsatisfied customers walk out, or worse, products walking out along with so many people being in the store. This situation raises questions about the management and scheduling at this location. How can they justify having only one associate on duty on a Friday night, especially when a new game is being released? It’s an obvious peak time that requires adequate staffing to provide decent customer service. I feel bad for the associate. She was so nice and did her best under the circumstances. I hope the management takes note of this issue and ensures better staffing in the future to prevent such unpleasant experiences for customers and employees alike.

Negative experience: My wife purchased an item. Was it what I wanted? I had already had it so she returned it. We were told we would get a refund within 3 to 5 days. It’s been over a month and we still have not got our refund. I’ve contacted GameStop customer service multiple times keeping told my refund will be given in 3 to 5 days, like I said, it’s been over a month and GameStop has still not giving me a refund

Negative experience: This place is a scam. They sold me a copy of Megaman Battle Network Legacy Collection brand new, but the plastic film was off and the cart in a cd case. I can't get it graded, it gets none of the warranty of a new game and its a stupid scummy tactic. Please, let this company go under.

Negative experience: I don’t normally write reviews, but I’m pretty upset about this one. I came in to buy a couple shirts for me and my boyfriend because they were having a sale, and the lady at the front desk convinced me to sign up for their rewards programs GameStop Pro. My card was already in the card reader before I could see that it costs $25 to join their rewards program, which she had never communicated to me. When I saw my total ($60) I said “don’t these shirts apply for the sale”, to which she replied, “yeah, one of them is 50%”. So she intentionally avoided addressing the extra $25 that was being charged. Pretty scummy if you ask me…

Fantastic experience: Finally came to this location and got to say, Ethan is the best at what he does. He greeted me very nicely, and asked if I needed any help finding a certain game. He is the most chillest, most thoughtful, respectful & nicest dude, and he gave certain recommendations on what I should check out. I also asked for other games if the store had them, however, the store didn’t have them but Ethan manage to tell me another location which had that game for PS4 which I truly appreciated! This location is great as well as they have plushies too! He also was great at getting my uncle’s kid Pokémon cards when he didn’t understood which pack to get. Think I’ll be back again soon!

Negative experience: Was there 4/21/23. To exchange a game . Standing there didn’t even say the simple “ hello “ at least … Krystal was very rude . Didn’t greet us ( like I said ) during the transaction she was just aggressively doing it so ( manager you can check the cameras ) as she proceeded to ripped our receipt in half because of how annoyed she was and how just aggressively her body language was . If you don’t like working there then just quit . Why be soooooo rude to customers paying into your paycheck . Unbelievable!

Negative experience: Very dissatisfying to walk into a store needing assistance and the female clerk with blonde hair is on a personal call with her friends ignoring customers. That should be handled elsewhere. No greeting, and being in the phone is considered rude. Even after her very loud inappropriate conversation, she refused to greet any customers the entire time. Negative experience: My family and I just left this location. Spend your hard earned money at a place that speaks to all customers when they walk in. This review is specific to the store visit 05/03/2022 at approximately 5:30 pm Mtz. The male staff member saw us come in, but didn’t bother to greet us. Instead he stopped what little work he was doing, to come behind us and straighten up “miscellaneous” items as we were viewing the game selections. Not even 2 minutes after, new customers came in and he gave a big WELCOME IN to those customers. But still said nothing to us after standing behind us for however long. Game stop, train your staff better than this, or better yet, hire people that deserve jobs.

Negative experience: I went in their yesterday to buy 3 pokemon card booster packs and first, the Person at the Cashier was very rude, and second, The total came up $12, i gave im a $20 bill because thats all i had, he Only gave me back $2 and 10 cents when it should have been at most $7, But not only that, the $2 he gave me were both ripped, but one of the Bills was not only ripped to the center, but the store tried taped it back together with crystal clear scotch tape like nothing happened. I wanted to complain, but i just didn't feel like it was worth it..

Waited for a call, they employee did state it would take a week or two. Called back about two weeks later to find out the employee never even put my information in for a replacement request.

Fantastic experience: It was a good experience. I bought an xbox series x today. The only concern is that the smashed portions of the box did not damage anything. I requested a non-smashed box but it was stated there weren't any. Later I saw a non-smashed box sold to another customer. That was not appropriate or appreciated.

Negative experience: Waited in line for well over 2 hours to pre order a system, that they said would have in stock, turns out they only had 5 to pre order so I guess they get there inventory out of the back of someone's car. EVERY gamestop around them had a min of 8 so I guess 3 employees got to claim prior.. and in top of that the manager who distributed the "golden ticket" saying you can preorder didnt even follow the one per household, he just walked out and gave the first 5 ppl the reservation. 2 of the people in line had matching chairs w shirts... so wow

Negative experience: Terrible place with WAY overpriced items. Wife bought a game there new for $45. It was normal priced $20 everywhere else including Target and Walmart. Took the game back for a refund, was denied because they didn’t put it in a sealed baggy when they sold it to her. So it was now considered used. But it wasn’t put in a bag when we bought it, they gave us the one that was on display. Company policy was to offer trade in value. Can’t help but feel like my wife was hustled since she was shopping with her mom, wouldn’t be surprised if GameStop has a policy where if it’s a customer that don’t look like gamers to not put the games in new packaging because they don’t know the stores lame policies. They’re guaranteeing themselves that money then. I can guarantee you I and everyone I know won’t be shopping there after hearing this story. Recommend shopping literally anywhere else, Amazon, Walmart, Target, anywhere!!

Fantastic experience: My son and I went to find a new game today. When we arrived we didn't know what to really pick out. After going through several games, the clerk (Katy, I believe) gave us helpful suggestions, based on us wanting to play together. It all turned out to be a wonderful experience. Thank you

Fantastic experience: Nice location with friendly staff. My only gripe is that they don't carry a wide variety of collectibles and its more of just an abundance of one item or one brand but other than that the selection of games is large and selection of hardware for any console is moderate.
