Negative experience: Walk in here and first thing that smacks you in the face is the disgusting ODOR. My god this place smelled HORRIBLE. Only reason I’m leaving two stars is because the selection is decent, but prices are also pretty steep. Bring a mask and nose peg if you wanna shop here I guess.

Negative experience: Every time I go to this business, I feel unwelcome.

Fantastic experience: Amazing experience with this store. Trade service was excellent and the guy working at the counter is extremely helpful and friendly. Will 10000% be coming here again to buy games, even if it is out of my way.

Fantastic experience: Love this store! Great selection and so much cool stuff to see! We have bought numerous games and had multiple consoles repaired by Jay. He is friendly and awesome at what he does. He goes above and beyond to make sure things are right. My old NES from childhood was a particularly large pain in the butt and he kept after it until it was working correctly. We appreciate it!

Fantastic experience: Had a very good experience here. Jay helped me out with replacing the internal batteries of pokemon emerald, ruby, and sapphire.

Positive experience: Edit: 4 stars given a legitimate response from the owner. Still have my reservations but they seem upfront about my concern. They have some cool stuff but I personally can’t support any gaming store that sells reproduction games. I understand that some games that are reproduced have become overpriced in the reseller market but when a store sells reproduction games, that gives off a strange vibe to me. To be fair to the owner, they are clearly marked and priced as such.

Fantastic experience: I had a fantastic customer experience. I brought my snes in for repair. Jay tried to fix it but my snes was too far gone. But he didn't charge me and helped me buy another set up. I also found a few old snes games I used to play with my brothers. Overall I couldn't be any happier with the experience.

Fantastic experience: Jay was very helpful and friendly. He replaced the screen of my husband’s old gameboy color and even cleaned it up for him. He was so happy to be able to enjoy a piece of his childhood again. He had some great game recommendations and the store had an excellent selection of games to choose from. Jay really took the time with his customers to make sure that they were helped in a positive way. Jay is truly an asset to this store and company. Ps, thank you for the discount on the Barbie game, our friend’s kid will love it!

Negative experience: Don’t shop here if you’re a woman by yourself looking for games for your kids! The man that was working there, Jay who is the regional manager, was extremely rude. Yesterday was the first time I ever went to a used game store to try to buy some games for my two young children and I had some questions about some items. I had over 8 games in my hand and wanted 3 others that were in the case and behind the counter. He was extremely rude and belittling and when I asked him why he was being rude he completely lost his mind ripped all the games out of my hands and told me he would not be selling me any games and kicked me out of the establishment. Jay was extremely rude, condescending, and sexist. All I wanted was to purchase some games for my kids who recently got Nintendo switches gifted to them and I had to come home empty handed. Jay being a regional manager is very scary for the owners as I can guarantee I am not the first person he has done this to and has caused lost revenue for the company. Owners should truly consider the type of people they have running their business for them.

Negative experience: I had some questions about a game and the worker (he refused to give his name, beard and glasses) was being hostile and very short with me. I said ‘hey sorry if you’re having a bad day’ and he started fighting with me and asked me to leave

Negative experience: DO NOT SHOP HERE!!! I came in Friday to see if I could get my PS5 pro in good condition traded for a used xbox series s, the manager at this location asked if I had a box I said no, he said that should be fine the used ps5 pro should still cover it. I came back Sunday with console in hand he checked it out erased all my stuff. Then told me it was only worth $250 saying nothing in the whole process. I said to 250? What do you mean? He said: $250 thats how much it is worth. Keep in mind he already gave me the insinuation it would be a fair trade. I said I thought I could trade it for the series s he said: “I thought we had this discussion already.” Then proceeded to smack my ps5 pro and controller on the glass case just to make noise like a child. I left without saying a word very unhappy with this establishment. I WILL NEVER GO BACK! I wish I could give The gaming zone a lower rating. They need to hire better help or do better business. They have unprofessional business practices that I could imagine many people would not be a fan of, save yourself some time and skip this place.

Fantastic experience: Hands down the best retro game store in the great metropolitan area. I drove an hour from Peoria just to go here. Totally worth the drive. Jay helped repair a GameBoy Advance I modded. The service I received was second to none. If I could give 6 stars I would.

Fantastic experience: My husband and I had an amazing experience at this location! We were thrilled to find the game Skate in great condition—it was the only location that had it available. We also brought in a PS3 controller to be checked and went in expecting to pay a lot for repairs, but Jay was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. He took the time to explain the pricing, thoroughly cleaned the controller, and made sure it was in perfect working condition before we even paid for the repair. Since this was our first visit, he walked us through everything and gave the same excellent attention to every customer who came through the door. Even though we live 40 minutes away in Avondale, the outstanding service made the trip completely worth it, and we will absolutely be returning in the future!

Fantastic experience: I took them a gamboy color to get a back light for it, they also replaced the screen and gave me a new back piece for the batteries. They did a good job on it and finished it sooner than expected. I also purchased some games for it too. Definitely going to them again for any of my gaming needs.

Fantastic experience: Stopped by to check it out as i was doing some shopping for retro games, this store brings back so many memories and nostalgia. I can’t remember the name of the guy behind the counter (sorry!) but he was super helpful and we had a great conversation. I’m jealous that he gets to work in a place like that!

Fantastic experience: I come in here once every few weeks/months and the shop is always clean and tidy. The prices are reasonable and I usually snag a game or two for my Nintendo when I’m there, sometimes games for other systems, too. I have also made trades in the past and have sold some items there. Today I picked up a loose SNES Classic that was priced more favorably than what I’ve seen on eBay and at other gaming shops. There is an employee named Jay that is there quite often, at least every time I go in. He is knowledgeable, friendly, and professional. Today he gave me some good advice on making an offer and purchasing a GameCube bundle from a friend, and also about modding a GameBoy with a backlight. We probably talked for about 30 to 45 minutes. He is patient and will answer questions to the best of his knowledge. It appears he can also help with repairing some game systems if you have faulty items you’d like to fix. If you are in the Gilbert area I suggest popping in and checking out their inventory and talking to Jay if he is there.

Fantastic experience: Amazing little game store! The manager Jay helped me set up my new Analogue 3D and treated me like family the whole time. You don’t get service like this anywhere else. Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: We brought in a 3DS that had been dropped. Fortunately, the damage was external, but made the devise flimsy. Jay was able to reassemble and stabilize the hinge and even shaved down some of the plastic to help it close smoothly. I was impressed by his ingenuity and persistence. I highly recommend this store.

Jay (J) went out if his way to help us out as we are preparing for a retro video game birthday party for each of our sons. He helped us get the best price and the best equipment for what we wanted. Fantastic experience: This place has WAY more than you could ever expect. Especially with all of the older generation consoles and games - it’s like stepping into a time capsule. Plus, the staff is extremely knowledgeable and willing to help with any questions you have. My husband and I have only been here twice so far, but definitely plan to be regulars. We had the pleasure of talking with Jay while we were there, and he was very helpful and kind! I definitely recommend this place to anyone who even remotely likes gaming. Negative experience: This store was very rude to me for just asking normal questions about selling my Xbox 360 to them. Went to 1up games instead afterwards they are nice and friendly. Go to 1 up games instead of here

Fantastic experience: I came here to have my Xbox serviced after the disc tray stopped operating. Jay being super helpful walked me through what was wrong with the device and got it back and running again. He also helped me with an issue I had with a ps2 slim av port. Sadly, it ended up being a capability issue with the Samsung tv/monitor I was using but Jay took the time to help identify the issue which I appreciate.This is super cool place with a nice selection of games, consoles and wonderful staff. Highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: Came in for retro 64 games, and had all sorts of questions about restoring non working cartridges. Owner was knowledgeable, and I left happy with 3 nostalgic titles. Great store would recommend to anyone into the scene.

Fantastic experience: Man! I stopped by Sunday early afternoon looking everywhere some old school Pokémon games. Called around what felt like the whole valley, no luck with anyone. Right when I was about to call it quits I call this store. Jay was super helpful and knowledgeable. I go by the store and I was blown away, the store was organized , had massive inventory, and someone who was ready to help with the best attitude. Fantastic experience: 10x better than "Amazing Discoveries" who are worse than scalpers. These people were great, super friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. They didn't overcharge or overpriced anything and I was able to pick up a few singles [thanks for the smeargle!!] And pokemon packs at 6$ each. Even pulled 3 hits out of the 10 packs I purchased. They have an abundance of board games, D&D and others. A great shop that will definitely be receiving a lot more business from me. Very ethical business!!

Fantastic experience: Me and my kids love this little shop! So many cool games, comics, and collectibles. The mystery bags are a definite favorite. Jay is always so friendly and helpful. He really knows games! He was able to swap out a faceplate on our old Wii in no time and showed us the how to get to a secret level in the original Super Mario game.

Fantastic experience: I met one of the regional managers Jay and he hooked me up! I brought in my N64 that was no longer playing any of my games, did a quick diagnostic and fixed it right then and there! Then he taught me how I could clean the system and games for the future! All of this for free! On top of that he was able to switch out a piece of hardware to make it possible to play Japanese games, sold me super smash bros, and I was on the road. Definitely appreciate the extra mile he went! Definitely will be returning for any more of my retro gaming needs!

Controller and very fortunately, the gentleman who helped us was very educated, not just on the controller, but on the history of the controller and the history of the problems of with certain controllers, they have a lot of cool stuff in this store. Negative experience: Guy told me to come in with a broken controller saying he could return it thru the serial number on it due to me losing my receipt. I came in the next day trying to get a replacement. Some kid working not even working was on his phone non stop and he told me I couldn't return it because it wasn't showing up in there system. He was very non verbal and on his phone texting. With a ridiculous hat on. So over these kids with terrible customer service running a shop on there own.
