Fantastic experience: Absolutely love this place, amazing game selection and what they don't have they can normally order in for you. Amazing staff as well. I do wish the movie/TV selection was organized though.

Negative experience: Bought a third party Wii remote and the guy assured me it was just as good as first party. I took it home it was terrible. The next day they wouldn’t give me any sort of refund. Not doing business here anymore. Also the store is an absolute mess

Positive experience: Good local store. PSA: shop owner rounds up on every purchase. He'll say "I'll price it at $18" and then after you pay, he's put it in at $18.99, cause there's no customer facing screen. Good hack for him. Cents add up.

Negative experience: This store is essentially a museum for retro video games, and not particularly in a good way. The prices are so outrageous that it is a miracle they ever make a sale. Most items are priced 30-50% over comparable sold listings on eBay or pricecharting. If you enjoy looking around at cool stuff, stop in, but I wouldn’t plan on walking out with anything. If you plan on actually purchasing something, do yourself a favor and just buy it online.

Positive experience: Prices are decent but can get a bit high at times. Selection is pretty good as well but the store tends to be a bit unorganized.

Fantastic experience: The owner was very helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable. The store's inventory is pretty impressive and very reasonably priced as well.

Negative experience: I have recently bought a psp 300 from this place and if I am being honest this place wasn’t the best the handheld was set at 69 but I got charge for 79 and then I recently did a shell swap on said handheld and it was dirty and there was dust all over it so that tells me that I have not only paid 10 times what I should have paid also had to pay extra for a charger didn’t include a battery and also they don’t have very high standards for cleaning there consoles everything was also very dirty

Negative experience: Warning for anyone considering doing business with World’s Game Store (Salt Lake City, UT) I recently made what I thought was a straightforward rental agreement with the owner. I asked if he’d be willing to rent me a PlayStation 3, two brand-new controllers, and two copies of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 for a local tournament I was hosting. The agreement was that I’d pay full retail upfront ($168) and he’d refund me $100 when I brought everything back — meaning my total rental fee would be $68. I also traded in a PS3 Slim with a bad disc drive and two OEM controllers, which he valued at $15, bringing my refund total to $115 once returned. The tournament ended up getting canceled, so everything stayed unused and was returned exactly as it left. Despite that, when I came back for the agreed refund, his employee called him and suddenly I was told, “I never said cash, I said store credit.” Which makes zero sense — no one rents something expecting store credit back. Then, instead of honoring the agreement, he offered me $50 cash back total — meaning I’d lose $118 and the PS3 bundle I traded in. After having to NEGOTIATE AGAINST OUR DEAL, he finally agreed to $90 cash back, but he still kept my PS3. I run a small business myself and always try to treat other local owners with respect, but this experience was really disappointing and unprofessional. Just want to warn others to be cautious about doing business here — make sure any agreements are written down and crystal clear.

Fantastic experience: This place has the best collection and variety I've ever seen.

Negative experience: Place was extremely dusty, dirty, unorganized, and extremely overpriced. Me and my 12 year old niece came to the store, and when asking an employee about the price of a game she played as a kid. (Just dance 3 for the wii, Going for about $6-10 atm) they were selling it for $25, (obviously very overpriced) i only had $20 and promised her I would get her a game ( not their fault ) and asked if there was any chance that was an outdated price, the employee seemed frustrated by my questioning and refused to answer, saying prices came from most recent sold ebay listings. I asked my niece if there was anything cheaper in the store she wanted, but it was either out of the price range or not something she wanted. I asked the employee if there would be anyway he would be ok to sell it for $20, and he said he couldnt make that decision without the owner who was out of town. So as we go to leave, my niece thinks she can put on her cuteness charm and asks “pleaaase? Next time i come in i can sell you games of my own” Visibly annoyed he starts arguing with my 12 year old niece saying that he would need the money upfront, and deals would not be made. She was now very disappointed and asking him if there was anyway he could give it to her. And then he snapped. He slammed his hands on the front counter and yelled at my 12 YEAR OLD NIECE. Telling her “its unbelievable you cannot comprehend simple rules, she was such a child, and we needed to leave the store immediately or we would be banned for life.”

Negative experience: I used to go to this store but their prices have always been inconsistent. I have been a fan of collecting, specifically the toys to life game Skylanders, and when i go to the store, there can be two different shelves, with the same figure same condition realistically worth under $2, but on one shelf its being sold for $10, and the other being sold for $50. For no reason. The display shelf with apparently “more valued items” has the same items worth $1 being charged for $50, as the ones on the “cheap” shelf being sold for $10. While there today I decided to tell the person working there, (presumably owner or manager) kindly, that some of the items in the display case were wrong. He seemed upset and told me that they fluctuate and must’ve been there for awhile when i know those weren’t there a few weeks ago, i asked him how much a figure was in the case i know is worth $3 and he said it was on sale for $60 and that it was a “steal”. I informed him it was wrong and that he had an identical one being sold on the shelf behind him for a measly $7. And yet he told me i must not know what i was talking about and I told him ive been a fan for over 10 years and that im very active when it comes to the market of skylanders and he argues because he looks at recently sold ebay listings (an extremely unreliable source) that he was informed enough to sell at the right price. I tried to give him a good site to price check but he told me to leave his store because he didn’t like hearing the truth. When i continued to tell him that i would’ve been willing to buy items if they were being sold at the right price, he told me i was to leave and not return. This store would have much more sales if it wasnt so overpriced and was consistent with its pricing. They were never welcoming when i walked in never saying hello or anything. I will not be returning.

Negative experience: This place is very messy and cluttered. Plus everything is super dusty. Which concerns me in buying anything in this store. This is an expectation every business should meet no matter how busy one gets. Please take this as a learning opportunity instead of assuming I am leaving a hate review.

Positive experience: Great store, except they do over price stuff a lot and I mean A LOT, my assumption is they do that because “well It would be cheaper if you bought it online but you can get it up front for more money” which isn’t great. The guy at the register is pretty helpful and I’ve been going to this store for about 4 years now and i love it but the over pricing is just such a massive set back.

Positive experience: During a video game hunt weekend we decided to pop into the store to check it out, regardless of the warnings I received from friends and other online reviews. The store on the side is a bit of a cluster in the center of the sales floor, and the walls are also a mix of organized games and piles and piles of random games. Prices are HIGH here, I knew that going in. But I found a copy of Hades on the nintendo switch on their wall for 40$ and decided to ask if they had any wiggle room on it, they were able to drop 10 dollars on it leaving it less then market value on ebay at the time of purchase. Hey im happy with that, the guy running the shop was cool about it so they've earned my business again during my next game hunt weekend.

Positive experience: Fantastic store with a huge selection of vintage (and modern!) games and consoles. The store was definitely cluttered when I visited, but everything was at least organized by console. There's a lot of charm to their decoration and displays anyway, so it wasn't a big issue. The employee I chatted with was very friendly too, asking us if we needed help and talking about games with us. He was just an overall kind guy! Highly recommend this store for all the gamers out there! Even if you don't feel like buying anything, there's a ton to see! Rad place.

Negative experience: Filed a complaint with Utah Division of Consumer Protection after they admitted they said that the Gameboy I bought was authentic when it was in fact a reshell. I told them I wanted a refund and was refused which is very bold after using blatant deceptive sales tactics. I'll still get my money after PayPal dispute though. AVOID THESE SCAMMERS. This experience really soured my mood on buying in stores which sucks cause I love to support local business. But this is inexcusable. Do your self a favor and report these guys to Utah Division of Consumer Protection if you have similar issues.

Positive experience: Prices can be a bit high sometimes but they usually have a pretty good selection, and sometimes you can find stuff floating around in the clearance bins also, I have to give them the fact they are probably one of the last places in salt lake where you can still maybe buy a crt tv

Positive experience: If your looking for vintage old video games, check out this store. They have everything from system consoles, books, to games. Even some movies and collectables. Prices can be high but low for most. Sometimes you can find hidden gems that are worth it.

Fantastic experience: All these recent reviews suck. This place is a dream, I drag my friends that like games down to SLC just to experience the magic of this store. All the prices are reasonable, especially given that you don't have to wait weeks to save $5 from eBay. Respect the hustle, keep local business in business. Fantastic experience: There’s a lot of fake reviews for the World Game Store, but truly is an incredible store. The owner is a sweet, knowledgeable, and kind man. I usually don’t feel very safe in gaming spaces as a woman, but the WGS is my absolute favorite. So many retro games, so many unique finds, and so many consoles!

Negative experience: Miserable, dirty little place where the only repeat customers are the hooligans who don't understand how overpriced every single item in the store is. They sell brand new handheld chargers at an 100% (2x!!) markup, and their return policy is fairly predatory. Their customer service is rancid and it's a shame that such a beautiful collection of items is stuck inside this nasty little place. Unless you have very specific needs just go to gamechangerz, game pedler, or retro game wolf. hell, drive out to herriman and go to galaxy of games, anywhere is better than this place.

Positive experience: Love this game store. They have good inventory, and are constantly buying games and consoles from people, so you never know what you’ll find. On the higher end as far as pricing, but the staff are always super friendly and very knowledgeable compared to other stores.

Negative experience: Horrific customer service, I’m a collector of Nintendo items and they scammed me by selling me a “rare” item when really it was just a console with a reskin on it. Me being a casual collector I should not have to look up if something is real or not when the employee TOLD me it was an official product(design and all). Once I asked if there was anything we could do about it they said “my warranty was up” saying I’m pretty much stuck with this $200 item that’s really only worth 1/4 of that price. Horrible customer service, horrible business practices. I’ve spent quite a bit of money with them so you’d think they would try to make it right, but they did the opposite, I would never recommend coming here if you want to enjoy your video game experience whatever it may be.

Negative experience: Went in there for a brand new 1st party ps4 controller. It was brand new but it wasn’t a 1st party one. I ask the guy on the spot if it was authentic and he told me it was. Unfortunately it was not authentic. After use it for a few hours over the weekend I could already tell something was off One of the reason it wasn’t authentic was because it has a 600 mah battery and not a 800 mah. 70 dollars down the drain ‍♂️Great place to buy used games but I would not trust them any longer when buying controllers or hardware now. Fantastic experience: Found some amazing deals on some forgotten games from my childhood on ps2 and original Xbox. Steven helped me and was an excellent help as well as helpful and just an all around solid dude, will return again!

Negative experience: They hike up the prices of the old consoles. If you want a quality vintage game system and not pay an insane mark up go to Game Changerz instead. They take care of their customers instead of taking advantage of them. Edited to add No I'm not a family member of anyone at Game Changerz. We bought a pre-owned GameCube for $150 and it barely works. We went to Game changerz and they had the exact same system for $50 cheaper and it comes with a memory card. This place is a joke, and to accuse me of being a fake review just goes to show what kind of business this is.

Negative experience: Honestly they have some stuff I might be interested in but I can't see any of it! Everything is put on shelves 4 feet behind these brightly lit display cases so I struggle to make anything out, and I don't have bad vision. They have signs posted everywhere saying do not touch ask for assistance. And even if the one employee wasn't busy what am I supposed to do? Ask the employee to put the whole shelf on the case so I can see it? This isn't how you sell your product and run a game store, I don't know how they stay open and sell anything like this. Not getting better deals than eBay anyhow but not knowing what they have or being able to go through anything is the biggest ick for me.

Negative experience: Will never return to this store. I asked about purchasing any of the three 32X consoles they have on three separate occasions and I was told they could not sell them with out the owner's permission. I said that was fine I am interested and if they could call me when they had asked the owner for a price, I would happily return and pay for it. After not being contacted for a month I returned in person and asked about the price again and was told, "you know they are kinda expensive so you probably don't want them anyway." I told them I would much rather buy local than purchase from ebay and I am happy to pay the going rate. They said again, not without the owner. I asked them to contact the owner and they said they couldn't and I should just check back later. I came back a third time a got the exact same response. They are not interested in selling their product. I was not haggling, I was simply asking for a price I could pay and it was impossible to get one. I will absolutely not return to this store.

Negative experience: I highly advise not buying anything from the website. I placed an order and was given no update on it for over a month. When I attempted to email for an update, I received no response and had to get paypal to initiate a refund after getting no 5 weeks of no communication. After grtting paypal involved they said they refunded my order but clearly hadn't after an additional week and I had to escalate the refund request to a case. Finally got refunded after 2 months courtesy of PayPal.

Negative experience: It amazes me how passive aggressive and defensive the owner is in responding to these google reviews. They clearly have no interest in improving their store. Instead of taking the negative feedback personally, why not take the feedback to try to improve your business? The games are priced well over market value, the store is a mess, and the staff are dismissive and rude.

Positive experience: A few years ago, I left a really bad review for World's Game Store. Now, I must update this. I recently went into the shop, just to see what they had in stock. I am not sure if the store is under new management/ownership, or if they have made improvements based on the negative feedback they were receiving. Their prices are still a bit high, but they are much more reasonable then they used to be. The service in the store is also much better. The 2-3 times I have been in there, it was the same guy working. He is welcoming, he is helpful, he is really nice...but he also gives you your space to shop and look around. They have a really extensive collection, their service has greatly improved, and their prices have become a bit more reasonable. Thank you for improving, and now you have earned my business.

Positive experience: I stopped in today to check out their inventory, huge selection but just about everything else is lacking. The mark-ups are pretty high, according to them it's because it's both quality based and due to higher buy in pricing (eg: diablo 1 selling for 179 versus 100 on average). I usually don't like to bother employees over little things cause work sucks n stuff but you have to ask them every single time to see a game cause they're behind the counter lol (my eyes suck skill issue I know). Not organized well but it's cause they basically have 2 stores in 1. Definitely a collector oriented store, wouldn't recommend for casual gamers when there's better options out there.

Negative experience: I tried to buy a original Xbox here a while back and the dude behind the counter said they didn't have any, there were several with price tags on them sitting on a shelf in the back right corner next to the ataris. Don't know what was going on with that guy seems like he just kind of didn't want to get up. The prices were decent, and the vibe was chill but that one interaction turned me off from the whole place.

Fantastic experience: They have a good selection of retro and current, some things they don't have like game manuals.

Negative experience: Me and 2 of my friends went to 3 gaming stores in the same night too try too add too our collections. The staff did a very good job of letting us check out their games and helping direct us where some would be! But the reason for this review was pricing, every game that you would want as a collector was 20% - 40% higher than in any other store in that area. But the excuse I have seen is the fact that they have very cheap low dollar games with buy 2 get one free. Out of the 3 stores we went too they had the best selection and rare games, BUT I didn’t buy any of their high dollar games from there collection cause of the over pricing. I found multiple games that I have bought in the past for my collection that were in worst condition and priced much higher than they would ever be priced. If you are interested in collecting I would not recommend buying from this store unless you are buying very small titles and cheaper games. As a game collector I was just laughing at the thought of this store believing that there pricing was correct and fair, I hope they fix there pricing cause there collection is awesome but the selection of pricing is ridiculous. Edit to respond to the owner’s comment: (Firstly this is an account that has been active since 2020 and yes this is my first review the reason for this review was because I was majorly disappointed with my experience at your store. And secondly the fact that you have been so aggressive in your response makes this even more of a reason to not want to comeback to your store again. Every review I’ve seen that’s negative or talking about the same problems people have with your business model you pull down and try too discredit them. Then finally your yelp rating speaks for me I said myself the staff was great and the selection was also but the pricing is unbelievable and every bad review I have seen is about that.)

Negative experience: Couldn’t tell you what the store is like on the inside because they don’t bother to update their Google hours and now I’ve wasted a trip during a pretty normal time for a business to be open 5:45 PM. Paper hours on door has clearly been posted for a while, so it didn’t change yesterday….

Positive experience: This place was like a dream to us when we went inside. It's like everything from my childhood looking at gamestores was here. It was some amazing eye candy and nostalgia, but once that wore off, I started to notice how overpriced everything was. Almost all the PS3 games I was looking forward to picking up was $10-50 more than they normally would've been in other game stores or online. We didn't end up buying anything here because of the prices, but I would love to go here again and experience the scenery.

Negative experience: I sold a bunch of games that are worth about 10 dollars a piece and they gave me 15 dollars for all my games and the prices are outrageous 140 dollars for a game boy color

Positive experience: Edit: Added star for improvements since last time, thank you store owner for listening. Extremely cluttered and inconsistently over priced, and poor customer service. Explanation: First of all the massive collection of retro games is cool, but it feels like you’re in a garage sale full of dust and cob webs. The store clerk asked me if I needed help and I said yeah and asked for a specific game, he said it might be in the pile of games over there, I looked and couldn’t find anything. So my advice to the store is please improve your inventory and clutter. Then there’s the overpricing, they got what the man calls shrines of collections such as Pokémon, Mario, and Zelda. These so call “shrines” have overpriced games that will be cheaper from even other local competitors, and amazon and eBay are extremely reduced. I’d recommend the store set fair prices for the items they sale and be consistent with pricing. The customer service is very poor. Being friendly doesn’t mean it’s good customer service. Being willing to actually assist someone who’s navigating the boxes of dusty materials is. Another note is don’t lie to a customer, it be easier to be honest with us. If you would rather keep your prized shrine collections from being purchased just say so or remove it from the sales floor. I’d recommend bringing in a professional consultant to give the store a better customer experience plan. Negative experience: They sold a "completely functional" GameCube which had a sticky open button so the disk tray wouldn't close, I had to take it to Game Changerz to get it fixed which they then called me saying they opened the Game Cube and found several dead roaches inside! Considering I paid nearly $200 the poor quality is unacceptable. Not to mention when I asked if the price on the GameCube meant it came with everything (wires, controller, etc) and they said yes, but was charged $40 extra for the controller. The system was not cleaned as well and there was dirt in every crevice. When I took it back they told me I had to return it in 24 HOURS if I wanted to exchange it. The policy says if it's faulty then you have 30 days but according to the manager the disk tray and dirty console "wasn't faulty or defective". IF YOU WANT GOOD QUALITY STUFF GO TO GAME CHANGERZ!! They charge a fair price for clean, working consoles. Not to mention Game Changerz actually offer to repair faulty devices where as World Games store doesn't, even if they sold you a faulty/broken console.

Positive experience: Not really organized but has a lot of games to browse. I like to come to look for SNES and genesis games. Staff was helpful when I visited.

Positive experience: Definitely recommend this place for good quality controllers. The employees let me test out some N64 and GameCube controllers before I bought them! The controllers were the same price I’ve found on eBay, and I have had experiences with paying higher prices online and then finding out the controllers didn’t work - you won’t have that issue at this store. One other comment I would have is that the store appears crowded and difficult to find things. It seems the games are organized in sections mainly by console with additional sections by popular game series; however, it took me a few trips around the store and I still felt I wasn’t finding everything I might want. Still a great store and definitely recommend getting your controllers here!

Fantastic experience: Was having trouble with my SNES and Jeremy had me bring it in so he could troubleshoot— he was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable, and answered every question I had. Great atmosphere as well!

Negative experience: Staff was absolutely horrible. Went on Saturday with a friend. Given false information In regards to TV/AV set up, game prices etc. Their prices are also absolutely ridiculous!! agree with the other reviewer on the outrageous price gouging. Also treated like a homeless person they didn't want there and wanting to poke jokes. I'm also no where near homeless nor homeless looking. I have a lot of money and would have still paid the crazy high prices but not after that.

Negative experience: Pros: -the selection of games is really wide and there’s a lot of options to choose from for all console generations new and old, so you’re bound to see some good selections Cons: Pretty much everything else. -The lighting in the store is awful. It’s either too dark that making out game titles on shelves is nearly impossible, or games in some of the cases are backlit by incredibly bright light fixtures facing outwards to where it’s blinding to look in. -The general organization of everything is a mess. Generally a selection of a console’s games will be together unless it’s a big franchise, then it might be on the other side of the store. But there’s also a lot of bins just sitting around with lower quality/desired titles just haphazardly thrown in, sometimes with discs just sitting exposed. Most things are on the shelves behind the counter so anything you might be interested in has to be requested to be looked at which is incredibly inconvenient unless you are going in knowing what you want. -The prices are obscenely high. I can only imagine the benefit of the wide selection the store has is for people who either don’t know how to look up/order games online via eBay or Facebook marketplace, or who just generally are clueless about games. Some of the prices are closer to their online value for more disposable titles , but many items in their store that are older than the 7th generation of game consoles (Wii, Xbox 360, and PS3) are 200%+ the value you can find online easily. There are other stores in town or even pawn shops that sell these games for closer to the value you can find online. EDIT: In response to the owner’s response. No, I am not a competitor. I don’t even know what competitor this particular store has outside of Gamestop or the few sporadic stores in the area that sell old games. That being said, of all the places I’ve been to, this was the lowest quality outside of the selection. I compared the prices with those you can find on Ebay and elsewhere because, for example, selling a $20 valued game you can get practically anywhere else for $50 online or physically if it’s available in the area for being ‘vintage’, as you put it, is ridiculous. It also fails to address any of the other complaints about the organization of the store itself. I visited the Sandy store a few times before it closed and I would have given it 3 stars for at least being somewhat more organized and not having loose games sitting exposed in a bin. This location feels less like a store and more of a haphazard way for someone to show off their collection. It’s also, in my opinion, unprofessional how many of the other negative reviews and my own are handled by the owner who doesn’t seem to handle criticism well.

Negative experience: The store manager has made lame excuses not to help my friend to trade in games on Fridays twice. He is special needs individual who loves this store. But yet keeps getting poor service. World game owner we are gonna to get a hold of you .This terrible way to do business.

Negative experience: The place is cool. The staff is friendly. They have lots of games from a variety of consoles. Youd think it will be a positive review, but the prices are absolutely horrible. I have no idea how they are still in business. Everything is a 30%-50% markup on ebay prices. If you want a cool atmosphere to hang out in goo ahead and check it out, but you sure arent gonna buy anything.

Fantastic experience: I honestly can't believe this place has such rough reviews.. it's actually a really awesome game shop with so many pieces of random awesomeness.. it's so fun and honestly someone complaining about how they have consoles set up for you to play and test out gear?! Are you joking!? It is freaking awesome! Keep it going!

Fantastic experience: This place has just about any game/gaming console you could possibly want to play with. Game prices fluctuate with the market so some things were a bit expensive but I knew what I was getting. They let me test the game before I bought. Great place 10/10 would buy from here again.

Fantastic experience: Staff is on the lookout for reproduction games. There are so many good counterfeits out there that I’m very hesitant to spend money on retro stuff anymore. The shop does sell repro carts, but they are clearly and honestly marked. They were kind enough to show me how to spot fakes. Inventory may be priced higher than eBay sellers, but you absolutely won’t get that kind of customer service, and I’m tired of getting burned by dishonest sellers. The shop has an impressive inventory. You can walk into this store with the expectation of finding a popular game, inspecting it with your own eyes, and being confident it’s an authentic piece. That’s worth a premium to me. Screw eBay! My only criticism is I’m not often greeted when I come in. It makes the staff seem disengaged and unknowledgeable, which is not true! I think the guys are just a little socially awkward (as game nerds tend to be). A simple, “Hello, welcome to World Games! Let us know we can help you find anything” will go a long way.

Fantastic experience: I am glad that this place sells skylanders. Skylanders was my childhood favorite game and I am very excited to see them here

Negative experience: I'm gonna be honest when I say this place had the coolest stuff out of any store I went to. However, you gotta to have good prices to go along with that cool inventory, and unfortunately World's Game Store doesn't have those good prices. I would go as far as to say that these are the worst prices for games I've ever seen. The only decently prices stuff was their weird wiiu GameCube style controller. As far as I know they don't have any sales or discounts. I wish you good luck in finding decent prices! EDIT: Apparently they do buy 2 get 3 free sometimes on their games? I haven't ever seen it but the reply says that they do so I'd do your own research.

Negative experience: A lot of good stuff…. If you can find it. If you’re looking for systems… they’ve got em all. Games seemed very disorganized. Some bulk stuff alphabetically organized in SOME AREAS that stink…Sega games scattered throughout. It was like shopping at the DI. Or a store that kept GameCube games on four different sides of the store. Who goes to a game store and wants to see only Pokémon on all platforms in a display case? They had systems set up for you to play, but it was obnoxious. Wanted to turn them off…GBA incredibles and Super mario world playing in the background…I’d rather go to game changerz.or game peddler. Didn’t buy anything and probably won’t go back.

Fantastic experience: A great place to find rare and obscure games and consoles. Found some stuff I didn’t know I was looking for! Not seen a store with a bigger selection of retro games in a very long time!

Negative experience: I've been to this store before and all of the reviews are correct. The store is pretty dirty and unorganized. There are some chase items for sale if you can spot them but it feels like a pawn shop. It's hard to tell what's trash and what is available for purchase. When I was at the store I noticed Pokemon reproductions for sale which is illegal. My chief criticism of this store is apparent in the owner's response to reviewers of their store. Never owns up to the problems that patrons call out and turns it back on the customer instead. I'm avoiding this place despite it being local. Edit: the owner flags bad reviews so they get taken down. This is not a fake review by any means. I’ve lived in the SLC area for a few years and stand by everything posted.

Negative experience: Overall just not a great experience, they have a lot of inventory so may have what you are looking for, but we purchased a few things from them, it was all super overpriced and nothing was even cleaned! We were in a bind, otherwise we would have gone elsewhere. The shop is super cluttered and dingy and dirty looking, and literally no care is taken to make the items they are selling actually worth what you are paying. We had to bring everything home and clean it off, all it took was a Clorox wipe, that is the least they could do! We also purchased a remote that ended up not working at all and had to go back. Probably won’t go here again unless we are in another bind. Had a much better experience with Game Changerz on 3300

Negative experience: I have been into this store a few times. I try to support local shops whenever possible but I can't support this store anymore. They are consistently above price charts by sometimes as much as 100 percent. They may claim it is because the quality is different but I decided to buy something off a reputable seller on eBay and buy the same item in store. The eBay item was of better quality in all ways and lower price with shipping and tax included. They sell used items for factory sealed collectible prices. The customer service experience is something akin to asking a question is bothering them. You ask them to grab something off a high shelf behind the counter and they act as if you have asked them to move a mountain. Adding to this they very clearly and openly sell reproduction items. The store is cluttered with limited done to organize, things are kept in something close to alphabetical order but buried behind the counter so you can't quite see what they have. The stuff that isn't buried behind the counter might be placed so high on the shelf that you can't see the price sticker. The final straw was the pure unacceptable prices they are charging for current generation items. I understand that the demand for things like PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X consoles are high but seeing them behind the counter marked up over MSRP by hundreds of dollars is just shady feeling. It plays into price inflation. This isn't to say they don't have a good selection of stuff it just feels like that small victory can't stand up to the other issues anymore. Cool you have some rare stuff, but it isn't so rare I can't find it anywhere else with a bit of effort that and I would rather not reward bad business. There are other stores in the Salt Lake Valley that are better on just about all points and I would sooner buy from a seller online at this point. I have made edits to this review after the owner left a reply to better articulate my issue with this store. I've had to rewrite this after the owner had my review flagged. This was after they left a response that was aggressive. You can see other responses were they call people names, imply someone has a mental health disorder, imply someone is "generally unhappy". Keep in mind that is the kind of business you are supporting. Also know in a few days when this review vanishes it is because they flag all one star reviews.

Positive experience: Great store has lots of vintage games and consoles and brand new stuff, it's basically a gamer's Paradise. I've been reading some low reviews and it makes no sense to me, if you buy something that is vintage a lot of times stuff missing what a shocker... and there's no real set price for it because it's not in production anymore it's funny how they they say will never shop again but will go back and keep posting lol. It's on you to check everything when you purchased vintage or used things. Here's a thought have you ever thought of negotiating price..? (just saying) anyway... otherwise it's an awesome place I had no problems with manager or staff friendly and helpful. I will make this store my gaming store for sure.

Fantastic experience: Was not what I was expecting in the best way possible. Went in to see what they had and walked out with a few retro games for my collection. Had plenty of items to choose from. I'll definitely be coming back.

Negative experience: Absolutely terrible, wishing I could put the lowest star. My husband and I are from out of town and we were prepared to drop money on a set of PS2 guitars. Not only was the long ponytailed dirty guy rude right when we came in but told us he didnt have any guitars for that console. Then we spotted two guitars in a half opened box on the floor, obviously we wanted to check them out before purchasing we lifted the box and he ran and yelled from across the store saying we couldn’t open. We said sorry and asked him if he could take them out to show us since we wanted to buy it. The said he saw us on the camera accusing us of opening and damaging the box which was already open. We ignored his lying comment and I proceeded to say we wanted to buy it and he said it’s not for sale anymore. Mind you, we are grown and spend crazy amounts of money on consoles as a hobby just to enjoy these maybe once every three months. We take care of things especially since we were going to buy overpriced guitars at this ugly place. This guy was extremely rude and disrespectful. OWNER OF THE STORE, if you want to sell fire this guy, he has no clue what you have here, worst costumer service ever.

Negative experience: Usually these type of places are a good experience but this one was awful. The employee was not helpful and doesn’t know anything. The store is a complete mess with stacks of game boxes about to collapse. On top of all that I tried to look at an open guitar hero box to see what was inside and the guy is accusing me of tearing up and opening the box. Lame store with horrible customer service.

Negative experience: So I got excited when I read the profile review description about how they have a GREAT Selection of games and it sounded cool. I show up after rushing to get here so I could make it in time to take 2 minutes to pick something old school. I such up four minutes before they close and the clerk says I can't be provided service. He gave me several different reasons why I couldn't, and the gave me another final excuse that on Tuesdays he has regular appointments he has to make. Which I understand we all have those, but if it's a regular thing. Then either maybe have a guy that worked with you who CAN provide service during business hours as stated, or update the online hours to read open from whatever to 5:55pm instead of 6:00pm. I may try this place again in the future. It does sound cool, but for this first experience their getting ONE star.

Fantastic experience: Anyone leaving negative reviews should re-evaluate their expectations. This store is gloriously packed with random oddball stuff most people have never even heard of, much less actually seen or know anything about (Vectrex, hello!). It's definitely a gaming nerd's paradise, and I've never had a bad experience here. Recommend!

Fantastic experience: 15 years ago, my 3-year-old brother snuck into my bedroom while I was away. He grabbed my favorite Anakin Skywalker action figure (the one that swings his lightsaber when you squeeze his legs together), and he chewed on it until it was almost unrecognizable. At the time, that was the worst day of my life. Luckily, the swinging function still worked, so I cherished it and kept it on me at all times going forward to prevent any more incidents. A year later, I lost the figure while on a trip to Montana. The day I opened my bag to find that Anakin was missing, then took the title as the worst day of my childhood life. Years went by; I never found the figure. Then, one day, on my way home from work, I stopped in this store. I was in awe at the collection of games, movies, and toys. Some of which I hadn't seen for years. While browsing the isles tucked away in the corner of the store, I found two Anakin Skywalker action figures. One of the two figures was THE Anakin I had been missing for all these years. Except this one was in great condition. It looked like it had when I took mine out of its box a long time ago. Now, the toy is in my house, and I'm never letting my brother hold it, no matter what.

Negative experience: I have bought a console from here before. I asked the worker if it had any problems if I can return it and have a refund, he said I had 30 days. Well, it ended having defects. I took the console back with the receipt about the 5th day after purchase within the 30 day return period. And the worker was rude and refused to give me my fund back and acted like I was lying about the consolesproblems.. never again will I purchase anything from here, they have bad service and they treat you like your crazy. It's okay they can keep the money and guilty conscious.

Negative experience: They had the rare game I was looking for. But the controller that came with the Sega I purchased and the extra controller I bought didn’t work. Pretty big let down. Edit after owner response: I live over an hour away, normally I would still bring them back in for replacement, but most of the buttons didn’t even work on both controllers. This gives me the impression that they had never been tested at all. So the drive hardly seems worth that level of quality control. Plus I bought that day to play on the holiday weekend with family. Edit #2: (lowered to 1 star) ordered new controllers online. Turns out, not only were the controllers defective, the Sega’s controller port on player one was defective. So besides the game, the rest didn’t function correctly.

Negative experience: Went in on 9/19/21 and the guy working there was unhelpful and rude to me and a few other people I saw him begrudgingly interact with. The prices here are on the high side but that would be OK if they wanted to help you find what you're looking for.

Negative experience: Amazing stock of games, but terrible customer service. Don't expect to go in and have a cool chat with a video game enthusiast... They don't even care that you walked in the door. Edit: after looking at other reviews it seems like maybe it was a problem with the employee that was there during my visit today.
