Fantastic experience: Unfortunately, I forgot the employees name this morning, but this guy was awesome. Knew what he was doing, knew what i was talking about with vague descriptions, patient, made the process simple and easy. Shout out to you man, I feel bad not remembering his name. Would recommend
Positive experience: Opens at noon so it's not my favorite GameStop. I prefer to go out in the morning! Sadly this is the closest one to my house, so I buy a lot of digital instead of going to GameStop.
Negative experience: If you’re going to have a promotion only for members, you can’t just add a membership at the end without telling your customers. Can’t just share half of the details about the promotion and then quietly add $15 to my bill without saying anything?? Highly disappointed even after getting a refund. Misleading customers isn’t sales.

Negative experience: Jeramiah took multiple phone calls after saying he would check us out, at least 3 instead of helping myself or any of the large line of customers behind me. We stood at the counter for 20 minutes before myself and 3 other customers behind me left to go to another location. Poor customer service. Will not be going back to this loca
Negative experience: Yo gamestop, I came in to buy a ps5 tonight bought the sick emerald controller too and yall didnt package it. This was the nicest interaction I had with employees with like talks off n on for like 20 minutes about games and anime and im a bit upset that I literally saw them grab it qith the rest of my purchase and its not in the box. If that can be rectified I'll gladly change the review to 5 stars. The workers at the sugar house gamestop are 10-10 btw. Great crew you've got.

Fantastic experience: I've been coming here since I was a kid, mostly because it's the closest game stop to my house, the staff is friendly and every time I went it was a different fun experience, from midnight releases to a smash tournament it'll always be a fun experience

Negative experience: I don’t often write reviews, and when I do, it’s usually to highlight a positive experience. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case today. When I walked into the store, there were no other customers around, yet the employees remained fully engaged in a personal conversation and didn’t acknowledge me at all—not even a simple greeting. I made my way past the checkout desk, clearly browsing for something, and still received no interaction. After realizing I wasn’t going to get any assistance, I decided not to make a purchase. Even as I left, the staff didn’t say a word. It seemed like their conversation about the Steam Deck platform was more important than acknowledging a potential customer. 7/7/25 between 3:35 pm and 3:45pm
Fantastic experience: Xavier saw me waiting in line with sports cards to grade and got things started quickly and helped me out. They are always super friendly when I come in the shop. Mark, the manager treats you like a friend. Sometimes you wanna stop into the store just because they’re so nice.
Negative experience: I’ve never experienced sexism at a GameStop until today, I waited an hour before open for a Pokemon drop, not the new ones just some they’ve already released that they were getting in again, and once I get to the counter the guy said I couldn’t get one because I was with my husband, we told him we’re both collectors, he said he didn’t care and if I wanted one I could go to the back of the line, we were shocked, this has never happened, and we told him we’re not sharing we are two separate customers, he still said no. He told us because we came together he couldn’t do it. He literally then proceeded to sell two products to the men behind us that came together?? That we waited with in line. It was so messed up I couldn’t believe it. There were groups of people that all came together, and I was the only woman in the whole store. And I was the only one he refused to sell to, he sold one to my husband, and all the other men in the store.
Positive experience: Small store - minimal inventory but well maintained refurbish gaming accessories. Price works with getting a used product. Gots happy teenagers.
Positive experience: This GameStop absolutely dropped the ball during the Nintendo Switch 2 launch. They had a single line for everyone, both the people who had already preordered the system back in April (like I did) and those who just showed up on launch day to place a preorder. They were handing out numbered “tickets” for system pickup at 10 PM. This setup completely ignored the people who did their part ahead of time. It basically rewarded anyone who showed up early that day, even if they hadn’t preordered months ago. So if you preordered in April (which already meant standing in line for hours), but showed up at 7 PM, tough luck, because someone who walked in a bit earlier on launch day would get the system before you. In the end, I waited two hours just to pay off my system, and another two hours to actually get it, because there were 132 people ahead of me. And a ton of them had just “preordered” that same day. It was messy and illogical.
Negative experience: Literally saw multiple cockroaches and even saw an employee killing some
Fantastic experience: Looking for a special gift for a handicapped child. They helped greatly to find a place that had it. I recommend this store to all.

Went into purchase Warhammer 40k and the young lady said she would not be able to sell me a copy on launch day because I didn't pre-order and that pre-orders were closed. I have an 80 hr work week and other responsibilities on my plate, so sorry I didn't "Pre-order" the game. I will from now on go give my $75 to Target/Best Buy/Walmart
Fantastic experience: Bought some joycons that stopped working just after I bought them, swapped them out for me quickly, less than five minutes. Also great mood/character from the people working there.
Fantastic experience: I love coming here. The employee with blue hair and glasses is very good at her job. Very cheerful and fun to chat with. Store is clean too and smells nice. Never had an issue with this location.

Negative experience: My excited 11 year old son walked into this store today to spend money he has worked hard to save. I was sick and waiting in the car. He came back out less than a minute later upset because the person working there said “hey little girl, you can’t come in here without a parent.” And kicked him out. He was heart broken. I went in to see if there was a sign displayed saying kids could not come in without a parent and there was nothing. I asked the person working if she had a sign and she told me no, but that it’s store policy during the holidays. Absolutely ridiculous. Real great way to break a kids spirit who did absolutely nothing wrong and just wanted to spend his hard earned money. We went to a different game store instead where he was treated with kindness and will not be returning to this location.
Fantastic experience: One of,if not the best, location. Super friendly and their customer service is beyond perfection. I couldn't recommend this location any more than I already do. S tier for sure.
Negative experience: the one woman who works there didnt seem to know how to do her job. told me she wouldnt ring me up, yelled about how her boss wouldnt replace the computer, and then started yelling into the phone about it and ignored the rest of the store. waste of time to go to this location, i ended up going up the street to target instead. i wasnt going to wait around for this nonsense in the middle of the day.
Negative experience: tall lady ,dark hair working there a few days ago was obviusly not having a good day, but thats no excuse for her behavior... yelling at people and using curse words with children in the building...... shameful. i cant believe this was allowed. surely their are other staff who would put a stop to this?! she kept yelling about how it was everyones fault but her own..... company fault... customers fault....... not hers though. i do not write reviews but i know my grandchildren shop here too...... i hope they are not their when this lady is..... i dont want them hearing any of this..... being yelled at for things they didnt do...adult language....this isnt appropriate for children or adults!

Positive experience: I don't love GameStop. They've never offered a very good value and it's only getting worse now that digital is becoming the primary way people purchase games. Used games only get marked down if they're shovel ware otherwise you're getting a couple bucks off. That being said if you are looking for physical games GameStop is one of your best bets. The staff are almost always helpful in my experience which is especially impressive for how little they get paid. You can call ahead and see if they have what you're looking for in stock or.just.go to your nearest one ask if they or other stores in the region have what you're looking for and snag the game you're looking for. As long as you're informed you should have a fine experience.

Negative experience: I'm very upset with my pre order. I was promised a zelda plaque and of course they didn't follow through. You can't promise an peice and not deliver. We showed up the morning of the 12th witch is what is says to do online everywhere but they gave them away the night before to people who didn't pre order. I'm very upset will not be shopping with game stop. Best buy will be getting all money from now on. Because they fulfill deliveries properly. We are a huge gamer family so this is a big bummer.
Negative experience: Overpriced their payouts for games you sell back sold
Positive experience: The parking is a bit cramped as they have a movie theater across the street, but on the most part, they are helpful and friendly. I've had a few trade-ins, and they gave me an okay price. They sometimes won't have the game I'm looking for in store, but they will often tell me or even call other stores to find it. Over all a pleasant experience.
Positive experience: Smaller gamestop BUT it has a majority of video games and not that other random stuff that this video gamestore usually has piled all over. So that is a plus over other locations. Also it has alot of games to choose from. The ps5 section isn't huge but they did get a shipment of consoles when I was in shopping.

Negative experience: I called and had them hold a few games for me. Drove across town to find the doors shut and sign saying the employee was out on break. Guess they don't want my business.
Negative experience: We went into the sugar house store today to trade in a Nintendo switch and some games. The girl that was working was very rude and demanded that we pay for a new joycon grip for the switch since it didn’t come with one. Then she wanted us to open it so it would be “used”. We were confused because it didn’t come with one when we bought it and didn’t know why we would have to buy one to sell it. She got very upset when she was trying to explain why we had to it this way. We decided not to sell the switch and she told us to leave the store and never return. We did go to the store in sandy and they had absolutely no problem trading it in without it. He said we didn’t need it. As long as it has the cables and it works. I will never buy anything from the sugar house store again. We have bought so much from that store only to be treated like this.

Negative experience: They are selling pre owned controllers for full price One of them looked like it was already 2 years old scratches all over it I didn't want to take it out of its packaging in fear that they won't let me return it. Which makes me wonder what else they're doing ♂️.
Negative experience: Had to come to this store for Christmas gifts all the way from Bluffdale since they was the only ones who had the games in stock. They had two employees working a guy and girl. The girl was being super bossy and passively aggressive rude to the other worker, and after she found the games I came for she just threw them on the counter with a little disgust. I know it's a stressful time of year and being in retail the customers can be snarky and rude but you shouldn't take it out on your fellow employees and customers who were being patient and understanding.
Negative experience: Hours posted outside the store said it's supposed to open at 12pm, which aligns with the online posting. However, they were not open. I waited until 1pm with some other customers and they still were not open, so I, and the other patient customers just decided to leave.

Fantastic experience: It's a smaller gamestop but it's still a great place and all the employees are super friendly and make each visit personalized. Online ordering is great with the website and that store does a great job on quickly getting your stuff ready for pickup. Been going here for years and travel out if my way to get stuff from them.

Negative experience: Very disappointed in GameStop I bought a Nintendo switch with the extra controller two games one used one brand new and a case I wanted to return it and instead of giving me my full refund they took me the new game was used and would only buy it back for 17 dollarswhen I paid 50 wouldn't take the case back and would only give 40 for controller I lost 120 dollars on the deal very disappointing will not be doing business with them ever again
Positive experience: I think this is the last GameStop left in Salt Lake City proper after the gateway location closed a few years ago. Get your new and used games, though consoles are still hard to find.

Negative experience: When I went to return something that was sold to me, the WRONG thing, I wasn't given the price that was CLEARLY marked on the package. The person handling the return shorted me $20 on the item that was not what I was supposed to be getting. The person that sold it KNEW it was the wrong item, and the person who took the return SHORTED me for the first person's intentional blunder. People just don't listen to you at this location, and don't really care about personal experiences. NEVER going back to this location again!

Negative experience: Terrible, girl was not very sharp,ran my credit card three times stated it didn't work went home and checked guess what? Three charges, called the store they had me call customer service,two hours later no one knows how to fix problem so I was forced to dispute charge,my advice go somewhere else.
Positive experience: Clean store friendly staff. On 12/23/21 I purchased a glass screen protector for a Nintendo switch. The alcohol screen cleaning swab. Was bone dry, and the glass brittle. Just removing the plastic for install cracked the glass. Don't by screen protectors here. Appears to be very old stock. Te games and other accessories are good so far.
Positive experience: I like Gamestop but would NOT advise ordering online! I ordered 2 games for the Switch I got my daughter for Christmas. That was on Black Friday. I was supposed to have them by the 6th of December. I never got any updated info other than a message saying it had been shipped. No tracking info or anything. On the 8th I finally called and was unable.to get much help although she told me that usps or ups would be the carrier and I may have to contact them but first should contact customer service. I liked that there was an option to not remain on hold and you wouldnt lose your place in line and that they did callbacks. The guy was friendly basically just said I should have received a tracking number from FEDEX (not usps or ups lol) and that he felt it was strange I hadnt received one. He gave it to me and basically told me to follow up with them and was of not much use beyond that. ... After being delayed and updated with a delivery date of the 12th, I heard nothing more. FINALLY the system updated with 5 emails back to back including one saying it was delivered today . December 17th. It was an aggravating experience. Next time I will save a headache and just buy in store full price!

A bit small and cramped when more than 5 customers are inside the store at one time, but staff are super friendly and helpful when you aren't sure what you want to get. The game selection for Nintendo Switch and Playstation is huge, and they have lots of new and used games to choose from. I reccomend this store if you're looking for something new or a game you can't find at other game stores.

Negative experience: Do not shop here. I personally witnessed one of the associates ask another customer 5 times in a row if they "were sure" if they didn't want a protection plan until he finally gave up and paid for it because it was so ridiculous. There's a lot of other places to buy video games that aren't predatory to their customers. Probably other gamestops too.
Positive experience: It looks smaller than I remember but it's cool tough to find xbox series x controllers new in the store and systems are impossible at the moment but they have other cool stuff.

Positive experience: Positives first: Staff are friendly, driven and helpful. Fair selection, good service, decent prices. Negative: I'm not sure how frequent this is a problem. After all, I did just catch them the day after a big sale. But twice while I was there the manager had to tell customers that they had no hardware in stock. I would suggest calling in before coming in if you're looking something specific; the first time I stopped in their website said they had a game, and the box was on the shelves, but it turned out they didn't have it in stock. Still, the positives outweigh the negatives. It's also the most convenient video game store in Salt Lake City, and they have access to the entire GameStop system if you want to make pre-orders or pick a game up there; as usual they also accept trade-ins and offer cash or credit.
Negative experience: Really not happy with this game stop. Placed a pre-order, was never told I would get a call when it would come in. Went into the store on release date and was told they don't know when it will be in and they'll let me know which would have been nice the first time I came in to order it.
Negative experience: Im shocked by the prices. Their used games cost as much if not more than brand new ones at Walmart.

Positive experience: I love Game Stop but the guy put year protection plans on without asking first and since I'm shy and have anxiety I couldn't really ask him to remove it. I'm glad they aren't pushing preorders as much anymore, but I feel like in a place where a lot of socially awkward people may go should not have the business practices that I encountered there. Plus the guy seemed in a rush even though it was only me and one other couple there.
