Negative experience: I tried to sell my 1st Gen Nintendo Switch here with all the original wires and accessories. They offered me $60. Walked out and sold it same day on Facebook marketplace for $150. Honestly, just go sell your stuff somewhere else. Their % rates are garbage. 2 stars because the guy was chill and didn't make a fuss when I asked for everything back after the offer. Might be better off trading in at gamestop.

Fantastic experience: I needed a new controller due to mine having lots of stick drift so i decided to come here. upon arrival i saw a huge catalog of games/ consoles, but not only that they had 3d prints funko pops posters and more random but interesting things that might catch your eye. I ended up leaving with a brand new controller, gengar controller stand, and a keychain. definitely the best place to go for video games things related!

Negative experience: They take advantage of their local Pokemon community by buying collections at 80% or under and reselling some products as HIGH as 25% above market. This shows me that they not only do NOT understand the Pokemon market, they do not care about their community of customers. We don’t need companies like this in the community, and let’s be honest, this is a great opportunity for new competition to capitalize on what this company fails to grasp.

Positive experience: I checked this place out this past weekend, and picked up a couple good N64 games. Nice staff and a great spot!!! I look forward to revisiting in the future. I'd like to remind everyone to stop selling your old games to GameStop, and support your local retro game store with inventory, they'll likely pay you more for them as well. **Revised** I returned to this location after they moved into their own brick n' mortar location outside of Glitch Gaming. It was a nice store, and pleasant to see an expanded inventory from my previous visit. Pricing structure and even "attitude/vibe" seems to have change from the locations humble beginnings, which makes me sad.

Fantastic experience: I did a huge trade in and the owner and workers were really kind and worked with me. I wasn't exactly prepared with the trade in but they worked with me and gave me a good price for the items I traded in

Positive experience: First time visiting this store, and I was impressed with their good selection of retro games. I found some great deals on NES, Sega, and SNES titles. The only downside was the manager, Ray — not the friendliest person, to be honest. If you can overlook the attitude and focus on the products, it’s definitely worth a visit. Prices are reasonable overall. I also checked out their new Eastlake location, and the experience there was much better. Although they had a smaller selection of the games I was looking for, the customer service was outstanding — the young man working there was very helpful and made a big difference. No comparison to Ray, the manager at this location at George Dieter.

Negative experience: This place has the worst owners you could have for a place like this. It feels like the staff knows more about games and consoles than the owners themselves; it seems like they only care about money and not the satisfaction of the customer.

Negative experience: Editing this to add: according to Texas law if a business sells an item that’s already damaged they cannot charge a restock fee. When I called today to bring this to their attention the guy who answered was flustered, said he’d call back and hung up. I then got a phone call from a very rude woman telling me to just come in and get the cash. So we go in, they have my BF sign something stating that they offered things other than a replacement, and instead of cash it was done electronically so now he has to wait two more days for his money. This business is shady, ensure you test games and systems before leaving. So Sunday 09/14/25 my BF and I arrive here after seeing it on tik tok, the guy working was super polite answered any questions we had. We were looking at a Xbox series S. They had three on the shelf, the guy stated that two had issues and one worked perfectly. We purchase the working one, and two games for the Nintendo 64. Get home and the Xbox does not have sound and the resolution is sometimes distorted. We try 3 different HDMI cords, two different TV’s and nothing fixes the issues. We bring it back to the shop today and the same guy from yesterday immediately asks where the controller is for the Xbox, it didn’t come with one in the first place. Told him and he looked at the receipt and said oh ok. Hooks it up to the TV and there’s no sound, try’s a couple apps and finally accepts that it’s messed up. We ask for a refund due to being sold a broken system, we are then told that we have to pay 30% restocking fee because of asking for a refund and not an exchange. I proceeded to ask why we have to pay a restocking fee when they sold us a faulty system and the guy tried saying he told us that it was faulty, which he did not. Then he said that’s just how it is or we can pick from the other systems. So we lost 60$ on a restocking fee because this company sold us a broken system. I will be filing a complaint with the better business bureau about this as well, we shouldn’t have lost out on money because the store sold a faulty system, while stating that there were no issues.

Fantastic experience: Anyone who shops here should look for Tristian. He’s very helpful and knowledgeable, but I think I was just lucky to get his attention because he was running back and forth with stacks of games and from what I saw, doing a lot on his own. When he was in between I guess his duties, he stopped to ask if I needed any help or had any questions, and he gave me a bunch of great suggestions. If there was something he didn’t know, he didn’t lie, but stated he wasn’t too sure but would find an answer, mostly it was for the older systems specs, which he specified was “way before his time and more of in his dads age.” He was polite, patient, welcoming and made sure to check the games before I left. The one thing that caught my eye, is a worker who doesn’t bombard you with questions the minute you come in, it’s a change in pace from most stores. Thanks for all your help, will shop again in the future.

Negative experience: Do not purchase from here! My PS5 controller had stick drift so I decided to stop here after work for a new one. When I got home I attempted to use the controller only to find out the L2 button did not work. I then brought the controller straight back for a refund. Upon returning the controller I was asked if I swapped out the controller (understandable). Obviously my answer was no, but then it started to feel more and more like an interrogation. It wasn’t till after asking me the same questions over and over again, checking the cameras, and constant back and forth walks to the back of the store that they finally agreed to give me my refund. They took the product back but It’s been over 2 weeks and I still not have received my refund. This whole experience made me feel so uncomfortable that I immediately went to Best Buy and bought a $200 remote with removable thumb sticks so I never have to deal with this again. I do not plan on going back since they obviously don’t plan on giving me my refund, however I will be filing a complaint to the Better Business Bureau. This business has left a sour taste in my mouth and I will no longer purchase from any small game stores ever again. Being a US Army soldier with no criminal background I have no need to make a quick buck and to the store I’d like to say that I don’t appreciate being accused of being a thief. I was simply trying to help the local community by purchasing from a small business.

Positive experience: It's a nice place to find retro games, for any console and everything in between. My problem with it is that it has lost its charm. I bought from here first when they were still in the glitch gaming center and it felt special because it was like a mini store and like something that only you knew of. It was special due to its catalog of classics from all eras, and now it's lost that charm. It feels like your basic big franchise game store, and the selection is now very saturated and overwhelmed with titles no one has really heard of or cares for. I still like this place as it's one of a kind here in El Paso, and I wish the owners and workers there well and I understand why they choose this direction, but it does feel a lot less special now.

Negative experience: Look out for these scammers on Offer Up! Very shady experience here. I was selling a gameboy SP and GBA game through Offer Up when I got a message from a reputable seller named “David”. David told me to come to his store that he owns with his brothers (Trophie Gaming) saying they are open from 11 - 8pm. I came in around 4pm and the employee there (wasn’t greeted by anyone by the way) said they don’t know a David. I was confused and showed the employee the message that said to come to the store. They were apparently confused as well but said they could take a look at my Gameboy regardless but that they wouldn’t be able to offer me as much as “David”. This was the red flag as how would they know how much I was selling for? What raised another red flag was a previous review here talking about dealing with this business through Facebook Marketplace and getting ripped off. I would advice if anyone else is dealing through offer up or Facebook market place and they tell them to come here to steer clear from this place. Update: this “David” person changed their name to Miguel on offer up after I said I was reporting them. Also changed his pfp to a black 3ds with super Mario bros 2 on the screen. Just a head up for anyone on Offer Up. Edit: Response to Owner 1. The “Miguel” guy (who also happens to have the same name as someone who is mentioned as working here in a review at least 3 months ago) has over 70 transactions with 48 5-star ratings since Nov. 2022, sounds like a decent business man for someone with mental/social challenges creating ruses to a game store they have no association with. 2. First of all, the employee I showed the messages to wasn’t even the same person that made the comment about not being able to offer me as much as “David/Miguel”. At no point did the two employees discuss the price I had on offer up. I was right there and listening the whole time, they were only discussing who this David person could be and if I was able get him to respond. They didn’t mention a price, the other guy just said “we can take a look at your stuff now that you’re here but we can’t offer you as much as (D/M)” which seems like an odd way to begin a transaction BEFORE even having looked at the condition of my gameboy SP and Pokémon Ruby game I brought in or knowing how much I was selling it for!! I had it in on me the whole time it was right after that was mentioned that I handed my gameboy and game for him to see and I almost immediately took it back after I started to put two and two together and told them that the situation just seemed too sketchy for me to continue with a transaction. 3. The benefit of the doubt wears thin when given the first impression of service I was provided as a potential new customer. No greeting at the door, there were max only 3 other customers at the store, I went almost directly in front of the employee (owner?) at the counter who didn’t even give a glance of acknowledgement. I even asked the other customer standing nearby if they were in line loud enough for the worker to hear and hopefully get him engaged but nothing. I had to go up to him and introduce myself for service. Do you blame me for thinking the worst about the practices of this business?

Fantastic experience: Trophie gaming is one place where you can likely find items you need. When they were a "kiosk" in the shop next door the management was great. Now, in their own store, you can expect a larger category, Modern + Retro games, friendly staff, and a good view of consoles. Truly a good spot for games, check it for yourself! Listen.... they get Guitar Hero / Rock Band items sometimes and last I was there I saw a day one PS3 (backwards compatible w/ PS2) so.... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I remember as a kid I always wanted a place like this that had all video game everything (that wasn’t GameStop) and here you can literally find anything. My favorite is all the collector editions they have of various products. I went in and traded in some items and was given a very good amount of store credit. I was able to get a PlayStation Portal and an elite controller. Thank you for being the store I always wanted. Hope you guys stay in business for a while!

Negative experience: Very terrible service. I went there twice to buy an internal ssd and a game and both times that I went, I was ignored and not taken seriously. As soon as I walked in a guy asked me if I needed help finding anything. (He was quite polite). I simply replied "let me look around first and then I'll let you know when I'm ready" then he left and went to his office. Later on I was then ready to purchase a game so I waited in line for 20 minutes and the store was dead. 20 minutes in line with a store that hasn't even been a big hit is unbelievable. Being patient is one thing, but waiting in line when the store is dead while there was 2 people in a office (look like there were inspecting trade in games) and another guy who was at the front desk who chose to stock games instead of attending his only customer that he saw waiting in line . The guy at the front desk (and I don't know if this is the owner) was completely rude the two times that I arrived to the store and the second time I came, I didn't even purchase anything due to him stocking games that could have been easily done as soon as he was done attending me. The customer service was SOOOOO bad that I ended doing business with a guy I met walking out of the store who showed up to sell his games for the store. We became friends as soon as we started talking about games and exchanged eachothers social media , to later find out that he said they low balled him for his games and sold a couple of them to me Instead. So if yall want to do business with other people for a good experience, I would say your better off trying your luck on Facebook marketplace or offerup.(everyone from the community lists there items there and you don't have to get out of bed just so you can realize that your going to be ignored once you arrive to a store (Ep trophie gaming))

Fantastic experience: Saw this store on Instagram, I’m an avid collector so had to check them out. I planned on getting just one game to test a console I was repairing and ended up purchasing 5 games as they had great prices. The guy there is super nice. They repair consoles as well so it was good to talk to them about that after buying a broken Xbox from them to repair myself. Overall great experience. A big red flag for these type of stores is price charting (no price tags to fluctuate their prices in the moment). This place has price tags on all their games which is how it should be. Great location, will definitely recommend!

Positive experience: Visited this store over the weekend and was pleasantly surprised with the amount of older games, consoles and accessories they had. The staff was knowledgeable and I appreciated their honesty when it came to the authenticity of GBA cartridges. Items are well priced and I will definitely be back in the future. The only reason I am giving this place 4 stars is because I think they could do a better job having the consoles/games/discs somewhat cleaned and older tags removed before they're sold.

Fantastic experience: I was getting chased by seven wild hyenas outside this location, the owner saw this and swiftly took action. The owner came out with a calm demeanor and walked up to the rabid animals while they had me cornered and with one steady raise of his hand commanded them to heel. It was incredible, it was like they were being mind controlled with the flick of a finger. He commanded them to leave without breaking a sweat. Truly grateful I had the fortune of being near the owner when this happened. If I could give you 1000 stars I would.. Thank you.
