Nintendo NEW YORK: Reviews
Fantastic experience: Many NYC exclusive Super Mario souvenirs and merchandise, some of them are quite expensive but indeed very nice.
Fantastic experience: Just got back from the Nintendo Store and it was seriously amazing. Walking in and seeing the whole Pokémon timeline on display brought back so many memories. I still remember my first Nintendo 64, the first console I ever owned, and how magical it felt to play those games for the first time. Seeing all the consoles, the evolution of Nintendo games, and all the classic characters made me feel like a kid again. It was so cool to see how far Nintendo has come and to relive all those memories in one place. The store really makes you appreciate the history and creativity behind every game. If you grew up with Nintendo or just love gaming, this place is an absolute must see. Walking through it, I couldn’t help but smile remembering all the late nights playing with friends and the excitement of discovering new games.
Negative experience: Was expecting more Pokemon since the last time I came but for the 30th Anniversary of Pokemon, only a small selection of Pokemon merch available. Was easily 3x the amount of Zelda and Animal Crossing. I just don't get it. Pokemon Center NY and Nintendo World were such better stores.
Positive experience: Friendly and helpful staff! The guy who took my photo did a great job. It’s significantly smaller compared to Japan Nintendo Stores. Wish they had more merch.
Positive experience: We were genuinely excited to visit this store and had been looking forward to the experience. After waiting in line for about 20 minutes, we finally made it inside — unfortunately, that’s when the excitement started to fade. The store itself feels like it’s in need of a serious refresh. The space looks dated, and many of the displays appear worn and tired, rather than engaging and inviting. For a place that should feel dynamic and interactive, the overall atmosphere felt underwhelming. One of the biggest disappointments was the number of live consoles that weren’t working. A large portion of them were out of service, and the few that were operational had long lines, making it difficult to actually try anything out. That really took away from what should have been a hands-on, immersive experience. Overall, it just wasn’t the experience we had hoped for. Given the anticipation and the wait to get in, it was especially disappointing to leave feeling let down. We hope the store considers some updates and improvements so future visitors can have a more enjoyable visit.
Fantastic experience: If you love all things Nintendo, then you will love the Nintendo store. They have merchandise for Mario, Pokemon, Zelda, Kirby and so many more characters. Even if you're on a tight budget, you can find something awesome to get.
Fantastic experience: My family (including 3 boys under 10) stopped here on our trip to New York City. The boys and I fell in love with the store. From the new and used Nintendo games, consoles, plush, and statues, this place is an excellent stop for families and gamers alike. The boys especially loved the plush Pokemon figures, apparel and gifts here. This store is ♿ handicap accessible and has wide aisles as well.
Fantastic experience: We went to Nintendo New York for the first time and had a great experience! The store has lots of merchandise for Nintendo products like Pokémon, Super Mario Bros, Zelda, and Animal Crossing. It was so fun to walk around the store to look at the fun decor. There are a few interactive aspects like a spot to play Mario Kart in the store. Highly recommend Nintendo New York!
Positive experience: I've been here twice, and the first visit was awesome! It was near Christmas, so it was crowded, but there was a TON of merch and games available to purchase. My second visit was more disappointing. There was a lot less merchandise, and the second floor of the store had been pretty much converted to a testing space for consoles. However, the Link statue was still there, and that is definitely a highlight. There was a decent range of merchandise available from most of the major names, like Pokemon, the Zelda franchise, Pikmin, and Splatoon. I wish there was more Animal Crossing, but alas, I went before they announced the update. Still a great store, and fun if you're a fan of Nintendo!
Fantastic experience: Fantastic store for any Nintendo Fan. Thrilled to have gone for today's launch of MyMari Products!
Fantastic experience: This is one of the best stores ever! A wide variety of all Nintendo merch. The staff is very helpful with finding certain items. There is an interactive mario you can talk to, switch 2's you can play and a mini museum of merch and consoles.
Positive experience: The store is fun but there are a lot of missed opportunities here like expanding the Pokémon section and including more of the vintage video games in the play area. However if you need a stuffie of your favorite game character, they probably have it.
Fantastic experience: We had so much fun exploring this store. They have a game area where you can play and explore different games. The merchandise is really cool and the staff is friendly and very helpful.
Fantastic experience: If you’re a Nintendo fan, the Nintendo Store in NYC is absolutely worth the stop. From the moment you walk in, it feels like stepping into your childhood (or your current obsession). The giant Bowser bursting through the wall is an awesome photo op, and seeing life-sized statues of Mario, Luigi, and Link up close was very surreal. They’re detailed, clean, and really well displayed — it doesn’t feel cluttered or gimmicky. The huge curved video wall showcasing Nintendo Switch content was impressive too. It gives the store a high-energy vibe without feeling overwhelming. I also loved the silhouette display above the entrance and the smaller collectible displays like the Mario Kart PVC figure. You can tell they put effort into presentation — everything feels intentional. The merchandise selection was solid. Plenty of Zelda, Mario, and character-themed gear, apparel, and collectibles. It’s definitely more curated than your average retail store, which makes it feel special. Even if you’re not planning to buy much, it’s still fun just to walk through and take it all in. Overall, it’s a really cool experience, especially if you grew up with Nintendo. It’s not huge, but it’s memorable, clean, and well done. I’d absolutely stop in again next time I’m in NYC.
Fantastic experience: It was my first time at a Nintendo store and I loved the experience, you can find products of the Nintendo videogames you like and it's very very fun!
Fantastic experience: Visiting Nintendo New York was pure nostalgia mixed with modern excitement. From the moment you walk in, it feels less like a store and more like a celebration of gaming history. Whether you grew up with Nintendo or are experiencing it through a new generation, there’s something here that immediately connects. The space is packed with iconic characters, displays, and interactive elements that make you want to slow down and look at everything. Seeing how Nintendo’s games and systems have evolved over the years—while still holding onto what made them special in the first place—is really well done. It’s fun without feeling gimmicky. What stood out most was how welcoming it felt for all ages. Kids were clearly having the time of their lives, but adults were just as engaged, pointing things out and reliving memories. The merchandise selection is solid, with plenty of exclusive items you won’t find anywhere else, making it hard to leave empty-handed. Even with other visitors inside, the atmosphere stayed upbeat and relaxed. It’s one of those places where you don’t feel rushed, even though you’re right in the heart of the city. If you’re a Nintendo fan—or just want a break from the usual sightseeing—Nintendo New York is absolutely worth a stop. It’s fun, nostalgic, and genuinely joyful.
Fantastic experience: Fun place! Clean, Nice, Has a lot of stuff to buy
Fantastic experience: Fun Lil gem to see great products and play Wii 2
Positive experience: Nintendo NY is a fun shopping experience. I have been here quite a few times over the last ten years and boy has it changed! It’s almost completely shopping oriented now. Gone are the days of interesting throw back exhibits of old equipment and gaming consoles. There is a large space for trying out a few preset games on a variety of Nintendo Switch models, but turns are set to 15 minutes and this store is almost always bustling on weekends. Was still a great time nonetheless.
Fantastic experience: Very cool little stop if you are sight seeing the city.
Fantastic experience: Clean, well stocked, friendly staff. Cool in the summer when it's hot outside, warm in the winter when it'scold outside. Trash cans inside. Fun photo ops. Also got to attend a special event while we were visiting for Animal Crossings. Small selections of merchandise for Animal Crossing, Mario, Zelda, Kirby, Pikmin and Pokemon as well as Switch and Switch 2 games, and amiibos.
Fantastic experience: Filled with cute and incredibly nostalgic items for all Nintendo fans! There are 2 floors. The bottom floor is mostly merch for Mario-related series and stays mostly the same throughout the year. However, the second floor's merch changes throughout the year for games ranging from Pokémon, Zelda, Splatoon, Animal Crossing, and others. Since those items vary from time to time, make sure to purchase the items you want during the limited time that it's there! Also, the second floor has consoles and games for visitors to try!
Fantastic experience: I love the vibe at the Nintendo NYC store. I do miss when it used to be called Nintendo World, but I get why the change was made. It doesn't affect my enjoyment of the place anyway, so it's no big deal.
Positive experience: If you're a fan, go! Wasn't too busy and a good place to visit when passing. No need to spend more than 20 mins inside, but glad I went
Fantastic experience: ((4.5 stars)) when I am in the Rockefeller Center area, the Nintendo store is often a stop--just cause. even though I barely game...it's just a great put-together shopping experience from the variety of the giant Nintendo character statues to displays of Nintendo consoles and handhelds of the past to non-gaming Nintendo branded merchandise. other than gift shopping for kids young and old, i snagged a hoodie from here that is so well-made and is a one of kind (haven't seen it rereleased since)...quality is never compromised in the items sold at this store even when they are non-gaming items. this store has insane foot traffic and gets crazy busy with tourists and locals alike, but it never feels claustrophobic because of the way the store is set up and the store does manage traffic when it is busy by setting up lines to go in. the staff is helpful and knowledgeable as i have asked for suggestions on gift ideas. anyway, if you're into Nintendo--come here. even you're not, stop by as it might kindle some energy from youthful energy from years long past.
Fantastic experience: We visited the Nintendo Store on December 30, right before New Year’s, and yes, it was very crowded. There was a line outside, but honestly, don’t be scared of it, they let in big groups and it moves pretty fast. The store has two floors. You can buy games and merch, and quick tip: the game boxes on the shelves are empty, but at checkout they give you the actual game, so that’s totally normal. The second floor is really fun, you can actually play and test games on TVs and even huge wall screens. Such a cool experience. There are cashiers on both floors, and the second floor checkout was faster for us, little life hack. Staff were super polite and helpful. Also, I really recommend getting their store bags, they’re great quality with strong handles, and prices overall felt reasonable.
Fantastic experience: Visited Nintendo NEW YORK and it was an awesome experience from start to finish. The store is packed with nostalgia and energy, whether you grew up with Nintendo or are discovering it for the first time. From classic characters to the latest games, there’s something around every corner that makes you want to stop and look. The displays are well done and interactive, and the atmosphere is fun without feeling chaotic. Staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and happy to help without hovering. The merch selection is great too—plenty of unique items you won’t find everywhere else. Even if you’re not planning to buy much, it’s worth stopping in just for the experience. A must-visit spot in NYC for any Nintendo fan.
Positive experience: A bit limited in merchandise, not as spectacular as I expected. There was really no "wow" factor when you walk in. I liked the kiosks with various Nintendo Switch games running , allowing anyone to play. Maybe an arcade room with more game kiosks, ( old & new), better displayed making it exciting and thrilling experience!
Fantastic experience: Cool store. Waited maybe five minutes in line to get in. Store is two floors. Wish they had more Mario and Luigi merch. Overall it was fun, but we didn’t buy anything.
Fantastic experience: If your in NYC this is a must to stop! You will have to wait in a line but it's worth it. When you go up stairs look for the statue of Liberty Pikachu plush. And they have cool Kirby merch. You can also try out the new switch games.
Fantastic experience: The Nintendo New York is an absolute must-visit — whether you’re a lifelong Nintendo fan, a casual gamer, or visiting New York with kids. This place is far more than a retail store; it’s a full Nintendo experience. From the moment you walk in, the energy and nostalgia hit you. The store does an incredible job celebrating Nintendo’s history while still feeling modern and exciting. From classic franchises like Mario, Zelda, Pokémon, and Donkey Kong to newer titles and characters, everything is beautifully displayed and thoughtfully curated. The merchandise selection is fantastic. You’ll find exclusive items you won’t easily see elsewhere — apparel, plush toys, collectibles, accessories, pins, home items, and gifts for all ages. Whether you’re buying something small as a souvenir or hunting for a special collector’s item, there’s a lot to choose from. The quality of the products is solid, and the exclusivity makes purchases feel extra special. One of the highlights is the interactive gaming areas, where you can try out games and consoles. It adds a fun, hands-on element that keeps both kids and adults engaged. Watching people of all ages enjoying the games together really captures what Nintendo is all about — fun, creativity, and shared experiences. The store layout is spacious, bright, and very well organized across multiple levels. Even when it’s busy (and it often is), it doesn’t feel chaotic. Everything is clearly labeled, and it’s easy to move around and explore without feeling rushed. Staff deserve a special mention — they were friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely enthusiastic. You can tell they’re fans themselves, which makes interactions feel authentic and enjoyable. They’re happy to help, answer questions, or just chat about games if you’re in the mood. Yes, it can get crowded, especially during peak hours or holidays, but the experience is still absolutely worth it. This is one of those places that brings out your inner child and leaves you smiling when you walk out. Overall, Nintendo New York is a top-tier destination in the city. It’s fun, immersive, nostalgic, and incredibly well done. Whether you’re shopping, browsing, or just soaking in the atmosphere, it’s an experience you’ll remember. Highly recommended — and definitely a place I’d happily visit again. ✨
Fantastic experience: Just another Nintendo store. Don't forget to pick up your Statue of Liberty Pikachu and one of the special New York-themed T-shirts. Note that this store doesn't link your purchases to your Nintendo account, so there are no bonuses like we were used to in Tokyo. (New Nintendo policies?)
Positive experience: Disappointed that they only carry a limited number of the exclusive nintendo nyc t shirts with the japanese Nintendo On them. Was told by staff that they do get new stock in daily, but they have no idea what sizes they will receive until the day off making it Dif Return another day to see if they have the right size. Needless to say, they have plenty of the XXS and XXL shirts, but don’t expect to find any of the more common more popular sizes in between. apart from that, anybody who grew up a fan of Nintendo during the 80s and 90s like I did well obviously love the store, but I was surprised at how underwhelmed I was with the variety of merchandise available. We definitely still managed to overspend and I am grateful to now have a brand new Christmas tree ornament from the store, definitely worth a visit for nostalgia and photo opportunities, but expect it to be quite busy and be prepared to be disappointed if you want to get one of those exclusive shirts, which, of course you cannot buy online or anywhere else.
Fantastic experience: Best place for kids and adults.
Fantastic experience: The staff are very kind, the store is very neat, the stock rotates every so often, there are places to play games with your friends or family and it's near a bunch of other areas to visit and eat. Also, you won't find pokemon cards here. You will find pokemon merch and other cute Nintendo merch featuring Mario series, metroid, legend of zelda, Kirby and Pokemon.
Negative experience: We went December 21, 2025. Very underwhelmed!! Glad we didn't have to wait in line longer then 10mins. 7 year old was very disappointed and he said its a two thumbs down. There was a lack of themed displays. The few large character displays were inaccessible. Save your time and go to the NBA and MLB stores nearby.
Fantastic experience: Fantastic store. Cute statues and even video games to play upstairs
Fantastic experience: Nintendo NYC = a gamer’s dream ✨ Friendly staff, endless Nintendo merch, playable demos, and iconic photo ops everywhere. A must-visit if you’re in NYC! Follow me on YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, Tiktok, and Bluesky @Spacemermaid3 for more gamer content
Negative experience: Let me preface by saying that I am the Guinness world record holder for largest Zelda collection. I stopped by for 3 reasons. Get some Zelda merch, talk with staff about my record (if anyone should care it should be these people) and make an offer for the the link statue. After talking to a nice employee for a few minutes, I threw out my offer for the statue (with no expectations, basically for fun, but still a real offer) and he said he would get the manager. When the manager came out, her attitude was VERY sour. I was trying to mention my record and love for Zelda with her and she treated me me with so much disdain it was palpable. Maybe it was because of me trying to make on offer on the statue? I was in good spirits before this interaction but I pretty much felt like garbage after 2 minutes in her presence. You would think if anyone would be excited to talk to someone that has a world record for owning the most merchandise that they sell for a living, it would be the manager of the Nintendo New York store. I left soon after that interaction. Nintendo, hire management that actually cares about your product.
Fantastic experience: Dec 10, 2026 Update! ⭐⭐ -> ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I'm not sure if they overstocked for the holidays or took some advice but the store has so many more items than before with substantial Animal Crossing, Zelda (with koroks!) Kirby, Pikmin, Mario, and Pokemon areas. The holiday decor was super cute and I was happy to see the big display active with families snapping pics and enjoying themselves. I was really hoping to demo Kirby Air Riders, but it's still "trailer only" in the demo area. Still, definitely worth the visit! ---- Real bummer. Large store with a ton of space and really no selection. When we went today there we two Kirby items (two simple plushes), one Zelda plush, a few AC plushes (Hamlet, Fauna, and a couple other boring ones), and slightly larger sections dedicated to Pokemon and Mario. For so much space it's pretty boring and not much to shop. I went in assuming I'd have to curb my shopping and I ended up leaving with nothing!
Fantastic experience: So much cool stuff! If you’re shopping at Rockefeller or 5th Ave you must must stop here, very small to no lines, great photo ops and all that sweet sweet video game merch you can’t find anywhere else. Was very satisfied with the quality of my items and the in store experience.
Fantastic experience: I visited on December 6th. The window display and interior were full filled with a festive Christmas atmosphere. There were lots of holiday related items featuring, and I especially loved the scarfIt looks really nice! The rest of the store was just as great as always!
Fantastic experience: Nintendo was super fun to visit, this one comes with a huge screen where you can play Switch and also has tons of merchandise. I particularly loved the exhibits of all the older consoles throughout the years.
Positive experience: A great place to stop if you are a videogame nerd/fan. They have a lot of displays on the second floor to try out the Switch 2. Unfortunatly the day I went, I didnt find any merch that I wanted and found the selection to be quite limited. Did pick up some plush toys for my niece and nephew.
Fantastic experience: Happy to of visited last time I came was over twelve years ago and I remember seeing the Gameboy from the first gulf war. Purchased a few wonderful gifts. I was so happy to visit again after more than a decade! It brought back memories of seeing the Gameboy from the first Gulf War. I picked up some absolutely wonderful gifts. ️ Highly recommend! ✨
Fantastic experience: Nintendo NEW YORK was very fun. I loved the animal crossing section. I also liked the Zelda section too. There were many products, some a little expensive, but were very cute and even stylish. I bought the Tom Nook wallet and a animal crossing key chain. I would recommend this to other visitors If you are a gamer. 10 out of 10
Fantastic experience: Nice little store with merchandising and gaming consoles.
Positive experience: Went there looking for exclusive items, found the store lackluster and plain, no amiibos, just 4 franchises displayed: Splatoon, Zelda, Mario and Pokémon, mostly clothing and the second floor half of it empty for no reason. A Few years ago it had much more variety.
Fantastic experience: I have always wanted to come here and since we were driving through we decided to spend the day in NYC. This was the first store I went into and it was everything I thought it would be. I lived seeing all of the statues and merchandise. They also had a area up stairs where you could play some games. I ended up spending about $200 bucks here but I walked away with some pretty cool stuff for me and my family for Christmas. My favorite was Pikachu plush dressed as the statue of liberty. Can't wait to come back!
Fantastic experience: If you like Nintendo, you’ll like the store. It has many cool pieces of merchandise. I wish it had more stuff exclusive to the store and also wish it had more historical display pieces like it did when I was here over 15 years ago. I’m sure those are in the Nintendo museum in Japan now but still very cool stuff :)
Fantastic experience: An amazing store for any Nintendo fan! Surprisingly affordable items, and fun decor. Definitely worth a stop!
Fantastic experience: It's a nice experience and comparable to some of the nice Pokemon Centers in Japan. The selection is good and people appear to be having a good time there. The location is great for tourists as well.
Fantastic experience: I like to come to Nintendo New York every year when my family comes to the city around Christmas time... I was in the city earlier for a different event and this was my best visit yet! The shelves were stocked, it wasn't too crowded, and there was a bunch of new merchandise for the various sections. They like to move the Amiibo around a lot, but their selection stays the same if that's what you're looking for. They added a huge section of Pikmin stuff, which was pretty cool. Checking out, I met a cashier named Omar, and he was super kind and helpful. I bought a couple Legend of Zelda items and he told me some fun facts and made nice conversation over it. I asked for directions and he offered to pull out his phone and help. All in all, a very nice visit. Will return around Christmas!
Fantastic experience: It was awesome. I wanted the Bowser hoodie, but maybe next time. Found tons of Zelda and Metroid stuff and some cool Animal Crossing stuff. You guys do a great job of keeping the store clean and in good shape. Appreciate your helpfulness and attentiveness!! Hope to see you all next year!!
Fantastic experience: I mean c'mon. It's Nintendo New York. You have to make time in your Manhattan Trip to stop here.
Fantastic experience: Friendly and surprisingly good prices for the merchandise. I love the appreciation for lesser known pokemon as well as the popular ones. There were some casual clothing with subtle hints to the game series which is awesome for someone who doesn't like wearing 'out there' clothes. Would recommend going at least once!
Positive experience: Cool store. Lots to look at and the second floor has Switch 2 consoles to play on. Other than being a 5th avenue store- its just Nintendo. One floor of mostly Mario, then a bunch of the other game merch like Pokémon and Spatoon etx
Fantastic experience: The Nintendo Store in New York is a really cool place for both kids and adults to dive into the world of Nintendo. When I was there, they even had Pokémon cards in stock which, as far as I know, doesn’t happen very often unless there’s a special release. The price-performance ratio, at least for the Pokémon cards, was great. I paid about $15 for three booster packs and a promo card, which is totally fair. I can’t really comment on the game prices since I’m not that deep into the Nintendo scene sure, I’ve got a Switch at home, but I’m not a hardcore player. There’s also a huge selection of plush toys and merchandise from various Nintendo characters, with lots of Pokémon items too. Spread across two floors, it’s a fun experience for all ages just make sure to bring enough money!
Positive experience: Very small, kind of warm. Is a quick browse of merchandise and play a 10 minute switch demo then leave. Has a Pikachu statue and a Bowser statue.
Fantastic experience: As a super nerd, it was an absolutely AMAZING experience!
Positive experience: As a Nintendo fan who lives in NYC, I’ve visited the store periodically for many years, especially for game release events. My recent visits this year haven’t been as exciting as they used to be, and I’m writing this in hopes things improve somewhat, especially for game launches. I just visited for Pokemon Z-A, and while the display they did have was cool, it didn’t feel like as much love went into the whole experience as it did years ago, with promo materials sold out quickly, and the Pokemon merch on the floor not new or tailored to the game or its starters. I loved the midnight launch events they used to do, and wish they’d bring those back!
Fantastic experience: It's a really nice store but extremly pricey. The selection is not as big as it used to be but is worth to check.
Fantastic experience: I have been here a few times and it's always fun to check out the stores and just walk around. There are 2 floors. Staff is helpful. Enough cool stuff that makes it hard to choose. I love the big shoppers, i use them all the time for groceries.
Fantastic experience: Very cool store. Some items were decently priced. They even had a giant screen on the 2nd floor with mario on it and if you walked up to him you could talk with him. It was so fun!
Fantastic experience: Cute store, well stocked, nice staff. Lots of space and not crowded at all if you go on a weekday morning
Fantastic experience: Such a fun shop for Nintendo lovers. Lots of unique merch (it is a bit pricey) and some fun photo ops and displays. If you are a Nintendo nerd, make the time for a quick stop while you are here! And maybe grab an adorable Statue of Liberty Pikachu plush.
Fantastic experience: Alot to offer especially for a kirby obsessed kid. not a big variety of youth sized shirts.
Fantastic experience: Lots of fun for those who love Nintendo products! And for those not familiar with Nintendo. They had plenty of Switch 2s to try out with their TVs. 2 stories of merchandise. Kind and helpful staff. Clean store.
Fantastic experience: Best place ever. If you ever played a Nintendo game you need to come and visit this place. 10/10
Fantastic experience: Large flagship store for all of your iconic characters like Mario, Luigi, Bowser, Legend of Zelda, the whole Pokemon assortment and more. Lots of New York specific attire and even Liberty Pikachu plushies. This is a two story building with lots of great photo op spots next to your favorite characters. There is lots of foot traffic walking in here to browse and shop. Staff are busy everywhere around the store but seem helpful and knowledgeable with their products.
Positive experience: This place has gone downhill from when it was the Pokemon Store years ago. Some cute items but overall limited selection, not even a Pikachu plush available. It feels sterile and empty, more like a showroom compared to how lively the HP store is. Not sure why Nintendo did this to one of its main stores in the US.
Fantastic experience: The Nintendo New York store has got to be one of the best stores that any gamer can visit!! This store has a lot of amazing video games that people can buy or try out at the store!!! The store also has a lot of amazing merchandise based on Nintendo's popular franchises such as Super Mario Bros., The Legend of Zelda, Pokémon, Animal Crossing, Kirby, Metroid, Star Fox, Donkey Kong, Splatoon, and a lot more!! I’ve been visiting the store since I was 10-years-old and I was very impressed and excited to see the interior of the store!! Ever since then, I’ve always loved to visit the store every time I visit NYC!!! If you're a gamer (especially a Nintendo fan) like I am, then you have to visit this store while you're in NYC!! Game on!!
Fantastic experience: Definitely a must stop shop. Even if you don’t buy anything, it’s very nostalgic and cool to see some of the items they have and how the store is set up. It’s two floors and on the top floor they have an area where you can test some of the games and play some of the Nintendo Switch Nintendo switch two games. A lot of places don’t have that where you could demo the games, so that’s pretty cool. Of course since it’s a brand store, you could expect to pay higher brand type prices, but if you are a Nintendo fan, a Pokémon fan, Animal Crossings, all those things! You will definitely enjoy the store and find at least one thing to buy. Everything from keychains to jackets to a Nintendo encyclopedia. There are something for everybody. Definitely recommend stopping and even if it’s just to see and take some cool pictures with, Bowser, Mario, or Luigi. Depends on the set up.
Positive experience: Only loses marks for stock issues and lack of quality 'Nintendo New York' items. Great experience and helpful staff
Fantastic experience: This was one of our must see spots while visiting NYC. Pictures give you a little taste of this unique display. We ended up buying several souvenir shirts and ended up taking home some cool shopping bags that are definitely collectable.
Negative experience: It’s really a shame for Nintendo compared to the stores in Japan. I’ve been to the ones in Kyoto, Osaka, Tokyo, and also visited the one in New York two years ago. The quality of the clothes is much lower than in Japan (the fabric is thin and worn out, and it looks really cheap). The variety is also much smaller — to give you an idea, they only had three Zelda shirts and two Pokémon ones. The store itself is really small compared to the ones in Japan (the Zelda section was just a 1-meter-wide shelf), and the stock is practically nonexistent. Of all the shirts I was interested in, about 6 or 7, none were available in sizes beyond S and 2XL. Pretty shabby and disappointing overall.
Fantastic experience: The Nintendo store is a must for any Nintendo fan in Manhattan. You have your current merchandise such as systems, games and amiibos as well as Nintendo exclusives. There is clothing, shirts hoodies, kids and adult sizes as well as plenty of stuffed Yoshi's, Mario's and many other. Plenty more collectibles that change throughout the years and some large statues of Bowser, Luigi, Toad etc. A fun place for adults and their children.
Positive experience: If you’re a Nintendo fan, it’s pretty cool. But don’t expect to be blown away. It’s a retail store with relatively limited inventory selection. Staff is very nice and it’s a cool little visit for about 15 mins. Then you’re like…welp. That’s that. And leave. lol Still recommend!
Fantastic experience: Nintendo lovers must visit this store in NYC. Located at Rockfeller Plaza, this is conveniently near Times Square. Times Square is a 10 min walk away. Best way to get here is following signs. Can get merchandise, buy systems, games and clothing.
Positive experience: The classic Nintendo store in the Rockefeller centre. They could really have some extra sales associates. I went into buy the Nintendo Switch 2 but no one was willing to guide or help. There was some event going on upstairs and the associates were busy chit chatting amongst themselves. I could have just bought it from Best Buy but the whole experience of buying it from the Nintendo store is unparalleled.
Fantastic experience: A total blast for gamers of all ages! The Nintendo Store is a vibrant, interactive space full of nostalgia, energy, and iconic characters. From Mario to Zelda, Pokémon to Animal Crossing, every corner of the store celebrates the magic of Nintendo. The displays were fun and colorful, with plenty of photo ops and exclusive merchandise you can’t find anywhere else. Whether you’re shopping or just exploring, there’s something exciting at every turn. Staff was friendly and kept the energy upbeat, and the store was clean and well-stocked. We could have spent hours there—and honestly, we almost did! If you’re even slightly a Nintendo fan, this place is a must-stop while in NYC. ⭐️
Fantastic experience: So, I wrote about the Nintendo store in Kyoto and was comparing. I feel like Nintendo store Kyoto is much wider and spacious than NY but the New York store has 2 floors to make up for the lack of width. It is also not located in a mall and NSNY is literally on Rockefeller center which is pretty cool. We went here to purchase a switch 2 bundle courtesy of the warp pass. We went during opening and it was a huge line. We decided to leave and get brunch and by the time we go back, the line outside was gone and we waited about 10 mins in the line inside and everyone was super nice and chatty as they knew how everyone was so excited and happy to be getting a switch 2.
Fantastic experience: This is one of my “needed stop-ins” when I’m in the city. The store’s displays are always changing and the inventory is also kept fresh. There’s tons to look at. If you have kids, plan to take a while to look at everything (and keep an eye out for hidden details). There are several places for selfies/pictures with Nintendo characters.
Fantastic experience: stood in line for a Nintendo Switch 2. Only place i could find one. Took a little over an hour but was well worth it. Smooth experience thanks to friendly staff. I've come here quite a lot before as well and easily one of my favorite stores in the city. Biased though as a Nintendo fan boy
Fantastic experience: Iconic place. I expected more items to purchase though, limited stock. I wish they expanded the store somehow and made some more interactive exhibits. Its still special and really cool. You can get free coins for your Nintendo account for visiting and upstairs is a mini museum, you can test a few games on the lastest system and they rotate showcasing different things i.e. one time I went they had all the supersmash bros trophies (like pre-amibos) and some like sized items like cap. Falcons helmet. this time there was nothing. I like the big sculptures and they have decent prices on some things. Staff is nice. A safe place for a nerd. Store music is Nintendo. Lil museum on the second floor and a DK charging port barrel
Fantastic experience: A great visit for all Nitendo fans. Their is a lot of games station to tryouts games. At this time they feature de new switch2 with the donky kong bonanza. Lots of merch and photo ops with the multiple statues.
Fantastic experience: The Nintendo store in New York has a wide variety of items related to Nintendo properties, including Mario, Zelda, Kirby, etc. The decor is fairly impressive and spans both floors. Visiting during busy times might make it difficult to navigate the store and view all the items.
Fantastic experience: For Nintendo fans, this place is a true paradise. You can explore the latest consoles on the main floor and take a nostalgic trip upstairs where the history of Nintendo comes alive with smiles from the past. The staff are friendly and attentive, whether you’re shopping for consoles or picking out some cool apparel. A must-visit for every Nintendo enthusiast!
Fantastic experience: Amazing place and very nice and clean, i got the switch2, zelda totk and 256GB, thanks the man who was at the right counter at 1:08 pm the 28, amazing service, thx.
Positive experience: Fun place to shop. Lots to choose from. Pretty expensive but great selection. Lots of consoles to play the new switch 2. Worth a stop if you’re walking by. Some cool history and artifacts here as well.
Negative experience: The store itself was kept clean, well organized, and was magical for our son. My husband found it for him because we only had about 7 hours in NYC before our trip, and as we landed in LaGuardia, our son said, "wow, I'm going to live here someday." Seven hours later, he said, "well, 7 hours was enough," (and that's mostly because the smell is so noxious outside, rotting garbage just sits there, do they have city leadership? That should be their top priority: sanitation. I was here 24 years ago with my parents, and it definitely didn't smell like that). But, the two stars is for this store, in particular. One employee was particularly rude, given their business mostly relies on children. My son said, "thank you," to him, and the guy just glared at us. The most pleasant employee was the man checking the receipts at the door, and he was actually nice. Consider putting him on the register. I will say, we enjoyed fantastic gelato, and encountered some really kind residents here, and we are patient, kind customers. But, I would gather that the only reason this store thrives is because it's so niche, being only one of two in the entire country.
Fantastic experience: Had so much fun visiting the Nintendo store! I came for the pikmin merch. The store has two floors and has different sections like animal crossing & Zelda. They also have a wall of Switch games and plenty of game character plushies.
Fantastic experience: Nice store for gamers. Able to play some games on third level, though some items were not working. Lots of merchandise is that's your thing. Giant Bowser statue, stuffies, shirts, etc.
Positive experience: It was a place my son insisted we visit, but honestly, it felt pretty average once we got there. The store layout wasn’t very impressive — not as fresh or exciting as the one in Tokyo. But you know how it is, for true Nintendo fans, it doesn’t really matter… just walking through the door is enough to make them happy and excited. We tried out the Switch 2, which was decent, though it didn’t have the same wow factor as when the first generation was released.
Positive experience: I don’t know if we just came on the wrong day last week but having wandered round to pick out a few gift items we queued for 20 minutes (well 19 as I timed it) whilst one person served on the one open till steadily working their way through a queue of about 15. In the interim various others looked poised to maybe open another till several times (maybe they had IT issues or something). Anyhow the long delay kind of zapped my enthusiasm and will to live from what was a reasonably well stocked and laid out store, although if you want fun and packed with interesting things to see while you shop try the LEGO store round the corner (there were a couple of figures in the Nintendo store and in the window but it was quite underwhelming compared to Lego or FAO Schwartz), where incidentally we only had to wait a couple of minutes to check out.
Fantastic experience: Amazing experience, specially during the Nintendo Switch 2 launch. It worth swinging by here, and feel the vibe of Nintendo world in NY.
Positive experience: Well organized store. It was good that people can try the games. But I really wish there are some chairs or benches for parents or the ones who want to wait for their company.
Fantastic experience: Stepping into the Nintendo Store in NYC is like mainlining pure joy directly into your eyeballs! Seriously, it's less a store and more a warp pipe to a dimension where everything is adorable, nostalgic, and makes you want to shout "It's-a me, Mario!" at the top of your lungs. I half-expected to see Link swinging from the chandeliers and Kirby devouring the display shelves. If you're a fan, prepare for your inner child to do happy cartwheels while your wallet simultaneously weeps tears of inevitable, yet totally worth it, defeat. Go, and let the good times (and your credit card) roll! It's worth every penny!! P.S. Their prices are actually way better than anywhere else in NYC selling Nintendo items.
Fantastic experience: If you love anything Nintendo you’ll love this place ! Loads of Plushies, branded clothing, games. Photo opportunities in the store too. Just a cool place to see and look around. 100% recommend a visit.
Positive experience: This place was very neat to experience all the characters you played with as a kid or adult all in a great big place to see as 3 d status or figures it a pleasant time with my son we bought alot of goodies, had a blast.
