Fantastic experience: Got exactly what I wanted for a Xmas present for my son. The male employee on duty was very helpful and nice.

Negative experience: Went to this location because they had the game my son wanted. It's not near my house at all. The store sign and website said open at 10AM. I get there a little after 10, I see people but the door is locked. No one comes and says a thing. I wait a few minutes and call to see if I'm misunderstanding the hours. They answer and say oh we are training and not open yet. No signs up. No one comes to the door just suppose to know. Then they say we will be open in about 15 minutes. But go to another store if you can't wait. WHAT? Do you have any idea how far I came to get this stupid game So I know how much my son wants this game so I wait. 10:30 I go back and door is unlocked so obviously youripen right??? WrongI was told can you leave for 10 mi ites we still closed. THEN WHY IN THE WORLD IS THE DOORS UNLOCKED??? Service, people everything about this location is terrible. Go elsewhere if you can. So disappointed.

Negative experience: Was looking for a game and was told one of the 3 stores on Capital had it, so I started heading here as it was closest. Called them 6 times to ensure I was going to the correct place. 1st call, nobody picked up, 2nd call I was left on "hold" for 20 minutes until I hung up to try to call them again. Next 3 times nobody picked up. Then finally, as I pulled into the parking lot and was completing my 35 minute drive I got a person to answer my 30 second question and gave me the correct address of where I could get the game, which was another 25 minute drive. I get to that gamestop, and there was no game that I was looking for. I'm out around 2 hours of travel time. I never understood why people hated Gamestop much until today. Just don't go to this store, or even Gamestop anymore.

Fantastic experience: I haven't been into a Game Stop for several years to buy or trade anything. Today, I did just that and had the pleasure of being assisted by Grady. I had an old XBox Kinnect with many games that I wanted to trade in. Grady explained the options to me as well as answering my questions about current gaming systems and how they work. I was happy with the overall experience and suggest visiting this location for your gaming needs! Thanks Grady and keep up the awesome personable informative approach as it made the difference!

Negative experience: Purchased a PS4 there in August 2023. The hard drive is now fried by no fault of mine less than 6 months later. They offered zero help. Not even a discount on a replacement.

Negative experience: I travel all over the country and go to different GameStops whenever I'm in a different state I was shocked to see a sign on the door that said (out to lunch be back in an hour) I've never seen that any other retail GameStop locations,Needless to say I was unable to make my purchase.I won't be returning here again.

Fantastic experience: We recently went to all 3 local GameStop locations in the same day. My son who is 7 and just getting into games, wanted to look at EVERYTHING before he spent his Easter money he received. Every location had a friendly staff but the Capital Blvd location goes above and beyond. Not only are they very knowledgeable but really talked to my son on his level about what he liked to play and not just to me, because I was the adult. I appreciate that and I think my son did too. I enjoyed the interaction and kindness. This location will be our go to spot from here on out. Thank you.

Negative experience: Stood in line for half an hour on the release date for the ps5 and was told if I preordered a game they would call me and let me know when the next ones were available so I could get one. I called today a month later and they told me they weren’t honoring their agreement. Thanks for nothing.

Positive experience: Very solid gamestop! Even amid all these shutdowns they are still running strong! This place has a good stock of games and used games! The store also has trinkets and other stuff that kids would really enjoy buying and even adults could enjoy if they are into that kind of thing! Overall the location is convenient and since tiger direct is not in this area anymore, this is basically the main place in the city to find tech or game tech!

Negative experience: Prices too high even for preowned. Video games have become big business with huge profits no longer about fun but about massive profits for the industry

Negative experience: I’ve been in the store twice and both time Blake insulted my likes on games. The sad part about it is that he been having problems with customer for the longest as you can see that all of the bad reviews are from situations that Blake is involved, and the store ain’t doing nothing about it.

Paul was working, and even though he had a good sized crowd in the store and the phones were ringing with questions, he managed to hear exactly what my son was interested in and talk with him about it. My son loved the attention and the topic - he was asking to go back as soon as possible during his bedtime routine. Thank you Paul - you really made his day, and I appreciate it.

Negative experience: Got a warranty on a switch controller at this location and had to use it (I wasn’t sure at the time that I could go to any location. I don’t normally purchase warranties). Blake was less than accommodating. In fact, I’ve never had any game stop associate act the way he did. They didn’t have any used controllers in stock and when I genuinely asked him what we could do he told me I could drive to other locations. Come to find out, not only can they ship from other locations but they were also able to return the controller and put it towards a new set. Im sure glad i ended up going to the other location down the street or I’d just be sitting here with a broken controller and a useless warranty.

This location is super convenient for me to visit when I work for the Starbucks location next door (which isn’t often, as it isn’t my home store but...details. ‍♀️).

Positive experience: I was denied service because I didn't have my I.D., I should've had it on me but I wasn't driving and I'm definitely nothing close to a child. I'm 24, and my partner is 25. When he asked for I.D. I said "oh man, I don't have it but I mean..I'm 24..and it's kinda obvious I'm not underage.", which he responded to with "you have to have your I.D no matter what, or come back with your parent." My parent? I don't even live in the same state as them. And I said "Well, my girlfriend is right here, she has her I.D. and is 25." Still he said no...this is absolutely ridiculous. I didn't get mad, I just said I'd go to a different store, which I did, and had no problems...because I'm obviously not a child. It's not THAT big of a deal, I get it, you're doing your job. But c'mon man, I was around the same age as the person behind the counter. And you just lost business, I would've totally bought that game at gamestop. (Bought it at target instead) I don't know, it seemed very unnecessary and was a little insulting cause I mean...I'm 24, man! The staff wasn't all too unfriendly, definitely a weird vibe though. Go at your own risk, and don't forget your I.D. ;)

Fantastic experience: Blake and Lauren provided the best customer service I have had in ANY business. I called to inquire about a Negan's Lucille Bat; they held it for me without question. When I arrived two hours later than anticipated to purchase it they were literally waiting for me because they were excited that I was able to make someone's birthday really awesome. Blake updated my GameStop rewards card: Lauren let me know that they can ship special orders to my home in Wilmington. These GameStop associates provided great customer service to someone they just talked with on the phone, site unseen, held the item I needed and were really fun people to talk to. Really. Seriously. I will be back and I will recommend this particular GameStop to my friends in Raleigh.
