Formal Customer Service Complaint – Ticket ID 1828456, Carrollton TX To GameStop Customer Support, I am writing to report a very disappointing experience at your store located at: GameStop 1906 E Belt Line Rd Carrollton, TX 75006 Reference: #1828456 I visited the store with my son to pick up what was supposed to be a birthday gift for him. Unfortunately, the interaction with the employee working at the time made the experience unnecessarily stressful and uncomfortable. When we arrived, the employee appeared irritated from the start. I explained that the purchase had been made online and showed the receipt to confirm that the item had been purchased through GameStop and that I had been in the store previously. Despite showing proof of purchase, she did not appear willing to listen or review the information I provided. Instead, the conversation became dismissive and confrontational. What should have been a simple verification turned into a situation where I felt disrespected as a customer. I want to be clear: I am not writing this to ask for someone to lose their job. However, the level of dismissiveness and hostility we experienced — especially in front of my child during his birthday week — was unacceptable. Customers should feel respected when they walk into your stores. I believe this situation would benefit from customer service coaching or management review so that other families do not have a similar experience. I would appreciate someone from management reviewing the situation and following up. Sincerely, Jerod Williams

Fantastic experience: Been recently going to this store to grade my cards and have never had a issue in the past 3 months. Very kind and friendly staff everytime I go. Its usually only one employee. Doesn't hurt to be patient if its busy in there.

Negative experience: Called the store to get some help with why my sons Xbox had a black screen and the nice gentleman said he could test it and see if it was an hdmi issue or a power button issue and tell me if it was worth fixing. Showed up and the guy behind the counter was going to check and a woman came up with a disgusted look on her face and told the guy he wasnt allowed to do that only of I was selling it could they look at it. I was willing to pay for them to check but she just gave me a snooty attitude and said it was a hard no. Wow... Just wow. Ill be takimg my business elsewhere. Even if it was against store policy she could've handled it alot better. Gamestop has really gone down hill. They used to be so helpful.

Fantastic experience: Sean is an excellent and patient employee. After months of failure trying to fix my son's PS4, Sean was able to fix it in less than 5 minutes. He was full of knowledge and told us other things about the consoles we didn't know. Ask for Sean amd he will take care of anything you need. Thanks Sean!!

Negative experience: Extremely disappointed with my experience at this GameStop location. I waited over 2 hours in line to purchase the White Flare ETB, only to have my time wasted by an employee named Sean. This store had a known limit of just 28 ETBs, yet the line was managed inefficiently. Sean showed little regard for the people waiting—at one point, he stopped helping customers entirely to take a phone call that lasted nearly 15 minutes. Despite seeing a line of people who had been waiting patiently, he chose to prioritize a phone inquiry over those standing right in front of him. The lack of urgency and consideration was frustrating and unacceptable. If you value your time, I’d recommend calling ahead or visiting a different location. This level of customer service is not what I expect from a major retailer like GameStop.

Negative experience: I don’t know if it’s a GameStop policy, but Ruth made me surrender my wallet when I asked to see the condition of a disc for a game I was interested in purchasing. It’s never happened at any GameStop I’ve ever shopped at and made me incredibly uncomfortable. I purchased the thing I came for specifically, but I don’t believe I’ll be shopping at that location very frequently.

Negative experience: If I could do negative stars I would. Ruth and some other joker would not honor the sticker price even when asked three times. I came in looking for a riffmaster guitar which had a sticker price of 109. Ruth took off the sticker on the guitar and told me “she gains satisfaction from peeling stickers off.” Then rung it up at 129 I asked why they weren’t gonna honor the 109 price. They gave me the excuse that they haven’t gotten around to it and so they weren’t going to change the price. Terrible service and zero accountability for their mistakes. GameStop, you need to do better.

Fantastic experience: Outstanding service! I came to pick up my PSA-graded card, which was graded through the store. Shoutout to Ruth (I hope I spelled her name right!)—she was awesome! Not only did she help me retrieve my card, but she also offered to check its estimated trade-in value for me (I had no idea GameStop bought PSA-graded cards!). The whole experience was smooth and hassle-free thanks to her. 10/10—highly recommend coming to this store.

Negative experience: Be careful because they completely rip you off. Son went in to get a wwe game that had one price on it and when scanned it came up more expensive. Husband showed where it said it was cheaper and they stated they “forgot to change the price”

Negative experience: I order a ps5 here but didn’t want it anymore I tried canceling the order kept saying error so I tried to call this store no one would pick up I called 6 different TIMES! So now I had to call customer service and they told me the store had to do it but he told me they CLOSED 5 HOURS EARLY! So I had to wait until tomorrow and after the store closed on there official time they sent me a email saying ready for pick up. I was pissed because I no longer wanted it and I went to pick it up and to return it but they had a system error where I can’t return it and told me to go back to customer service. I just want my money back!

Negative experience: I've been shopping at this location for the past 2 years and never have I ever once had a problem up until recently. The little short, blonde lady that runs the store just north of here has been in more often, and I haven't seen the other guy with the glasses lately, Juan I think his name was. I normally shop at this store to avoid the blonde lady because she's so rude to her customers! I was in earlier, and i saw her literally kick this family out of the store just for having a large stroller and that the mother was breastfeeding. Of all the ways she could have handled the situation, THAT was not the way to go. She will always try to talk over you, and when you only come in there for one item, she'll pressure you to buy something else before leaving. Would not recommend shopping here just to avoid her.

Negative experience: We went in to pre-order a game and were practically harassed about this yearly membership thing you would pay for. When we went in to pick up our copies of the games at the midnight release, we were turned away because we didn't confirm with the store earlier that we were picking up the game, though the employee we purchased the games from never told us this. Negative experience: Brought in 3 unopened items to return, along with the receipt from purchase, etc. Some corpulent lummox waddled from the back to tell me that their policy is to not return new items, but that I should open them, and then go to another store and just tell them that I didn't like it. Explained that it was a "new policy for the holidays to prevent losses at stores." I proceeded to call another store to ask them what the return policy was. They told me new games only, if they were opened, they could only do the buy back pricing. I called corporate, and they told me, in no uncertain terms, that what the manager had stated was categorically false, and that I definitely should not have opened the items. I'm not sure if it was incompetence or laziness that informed the store's actions, but either way, make sure you insist on them showing you what the store policy is and don't trust them at face value.

Negative experience: Worst experience ever! Girl working front desk white lady very short kicked me out because my baby 1 year old was not wearing a mask! & asked my daughter very rudely to not touch the windows because then she would have to clean them but the other little boy (caucasian) was opening and closing the doors! I drove 12 miles to this location because another location said they had the playstation I was looking for and before I told her thats what they told me she cut me off and told me she sold it. She was beign very rude to me (hispanic) and amazingly nice to other people (caucasian) that were there! I have never gotten treated this way! Gamestop you need to do better hiring these kind of people. This happened 03/11/2021 at around 6:00pm. I bought a brand new playstation 4 else where. This deserves less than 1 star. Do better!

Negative experience: Horrible attitude from white employee taking a hour+ “lunch break” I had been waiting with my dad for 40 minutes already and when she gets here she opens the door then closes it back up again. Man next door from Joes pizza informs that she’s always rude with customers and unnecessary long breaks. Negative experience: Your blonde staff worker is extremely unprofessional. I pulled up to visit the store. The woman yelled from her car "we aren't open" (in a very rude tone as if I knew she was the staff worker). 3:20pm on a Thursday. I asked if there were any other staff workers inside since the lights and door was unlocked and she rudely told me : "I am the worker. I just got my lunch from McDonald's. I just getting back". This is a coaching opportunity at the very least. Very disappointed the way she spoke to me.

Fantastic experience: I came in to buy my daughter a present for Christmas and Brittanae was so knowledgeable! (I didn’t know one person knew so much about Animal Crossing) The line took a while with only one register up, a lot of customers in front of me were upset about lack of inventory, but Pedro and Brittanae did an amazing job at directing them where they could get it!

Negative experience: If I could give less than one start I would ! the girl who was working front couldn’t do a return on a online purchase didn’t even take her time to see my email or help me with the return. I guess she was more busy eating not even the point as customer service you should at least try to help them out not just push them out the store to other GameStop.
