Negative experience: Rude Staff and Awful Service -Never Going Back I had one of the worst retail experiences of my life at Stuff 4 Geeks. I wanted to inquire about whether a game was just the case or included the cartridge/disc, but I couldn't get any help. The store door was apparently kept closed (I guess to deter criminals), and I was left standing there waiting. If another customer hadn't pressed the button to get in, I would still be standing there waiting with no way to even ask my question. When I finally got assistance from a male employee, he was incredibly rude and dismissive. Instead of answering my simple question about the product, he repeatedly told me I "shouldn't buy" the item, which felt like a judgment about my financial status. When I tried to estimate the price, he actually laughed at me - clearly mocking my appearance or perceived ability to pay. The only person who actually helped answer my question was another customer, not an employee. I even heard the woman who let me in tell the rude employee to be "more active" and help customers instead of just socializing. I left after about 30 minutes of this treatment, feeling embarrassed and disrespected. The staff's judgmental attitude and complete lack of customer service skills ensure I'll never return to this store. I'd recommend anyone considering a visit to save themselves the time and humiliation and shop elsewhere.

Fantastic experience: Ring to get let it! They have everything here! Plenty of games, cards, systems. The owner of reaynice, he helped me out with a GBA whose button wasn't responding, he used some Windex on it and it worked fine. I later cleaned the contacts on the board properly with alcohol and qtips. He sells at market price, which seems fair. I'll definitely come by again to take at look at all the games he's got.

Positive experience: The owner of this place is rude, offputting, and weird. Only reason I still check this place out is because his wife is so nice and sweet, complete oposites. Work on that attitude buddy.

Negative experience: Came at 3pm. Google says it’s open, the neon sign that says open is on. I ask the owner (I’m assuming) if they’re open as he is standing outside, he says they’re closed. I’d stay away from here. Go to Bros Game Shop up the street instead.

Negative experience: Terrible store. They lock the door behind you on some false imprisonment. The employees were uninterested when I walked in today at 12:55pm and they just kept on with their conversation. They completely disregarded me or asked if I needed something. I asked for a single n64 to which they said it was unavailable in a very snappy manner and did not offer any other games instead. I was unimpressed by the service and decided to maybe come back another time until I got called a waste of money and time by the uneducated gentleman managing the store today. Terrible store. Small space, very overpriced and claustrophobic definitely avoid.

Fantastic experience: This is the best game store EVER TLDR: You looking for a old school game shop shop? Go to Stuff4Geekz, be respectful, and enjoy. Stuff4Geekz is a gem in a era where local video game shops are slowly fading away. Ive been a repeat customer since they set up shop in 2021, and every time i walk away feeling amazing. They have everything i need as a fan of nostalgic videogames, from console accessories, dope 3rd party controllers, to custom video game cartridges. On top of that, they offer modern games along with collectibles and a great addition of Pokémon boosters for those who cant find in this scalper filled hobby. The shop has a fun atmosphere walking in and holding a conversating with the owners is always a delight. Knowing the past difficulties this business had with theft, im glad they've upped their security letting folks in. Side note, they do offer an online shopping experience with shipping for those interested.

Negative experience: This is a video game store that does not sell video games. When I rang the doorbell at 2pm or so (I.e., not lunch time, normal business hours, no “closed” signage, etc), I was very pointedly told that “we’re not selling video games today.” But… I see a bunch of games inside… is this not a game store? Anyway, I left, which freed up more time to explore the far superior Retro Games Plus up the road.

Fantastic experience: Great service the owner is really nice person I bought a Xbox one in great condition and a good price the store is awesome

Negative experience: Went in to check out some video games and we haf questions about purchasing some products. My feiend asked the man working some questions about a game but he was telling him that he does not sell the video games here. That we needed to order online. And he seemed very uncomfortable of having us in the store for some odd reason. We were a bit confused onto why we could not buy anything. And the owner then proceded to tell us if we were ready to leave the store and escorted us out. I was very unahappy on how we were treated here. All i wanted to do was buy a video game console and some games for myself that i enjoyed playing as a kid. The man even mentioned they sell on ebay , my friend asked what the ebay account was so we could order and look at some items. Then he did not want to give us his ebay account. the whole transaction very confused. Im now wondering is it based on the way i look? did they profile me and my friend ? im so lost

Fantastic experience: I’ve been going to Stuff 4 Geekz since 2023, and I still come back regularly because I genuinely love this place. Every visit feels like a good experience, whether I’m just browsing or actually buying something. The staff here are incredibly kind and welcoming to the point where they don’t just feel like workers, but more like family. Over time, I’ve actually become friends with them, and that kind of connection is rare to find in a store. They always make you feel comfortable, remembered, and appreciated. Most of the things that I own in my collection of anime/videos games and consoles came from here so I HIGHLY recommend this place.

Fantastic experience: Their collection is immaculate and reasonably priced. They have a lot of hard to find games and consoles…especially for discerning collectors who want complete in box (CIB)

Negative experience: This location has to be one of the laziest stores I’ve encountered. The owner wanted to focus on moving the store around more than help customers find cards they needed even though there were two other employees working and they said they had the cards in a box in a case behind the counter. From there unless you’re looking for $1-3 cards from sword and shield era there is not much of a selection to choose from in the counter tops. As someone that goes store to store hunting for deck building materials as well as cards for the collection, from Mission Viejo to Burbank this has got to be one of the worst shops I’ve encountered customer service wise.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely adore this place. The owners are the kindest people, very passionate and knowledgeable and welcoming. Great prices, amazing stock, and everything is tested and cleaned! I love the modded 64 games and the collectibles. Coming here is an exercise in healing my inner child, and it is a perfect example of why retro gaming is the best.

Fantastic experience: Best experience I ever had, they helped me get a n64, showed me each game I was getting running perfectly and recommended other games I didn’t even know about. Even if it was an hour after closing they helped gather everything and packed it very nicely as it was a gift. I honestly recommend this place if you’re looking for retro games as the staff will show everything on screen. BE PATIENT, I only saw two employees and I had to wait for my turn. You can’t expect them to attend to you quickly if it’s busy as they help other customers but if you have the patience, this place is awesome to go to.

Fantastic experience: Stumbled on this store unexpectedly and thoroughly enjoyed visiting. The owners are very personable and knowledgeable and they take an interest in what you're looking for. They seem to serve collectors and know their customers well. Their games are well priced and they have a lot of emulated games for sale as well. The shop has a small footprint but they've packed a lot in there -- not just games either, they also have consoles and figurines.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been coming to Stuff 4 Geekz for a couple of years now, and it’s always a great experience. I genuinely enjoy stopping by just to chat with the owners. They’re awesome people, super friendly, and passionate about what they do. The store is packed with cool stuff for all kinds of different collectors and fans like anime, gaming, figures, cards etc. I always get Dr. Squatch products when I’m there. Every time I come in, I tell myself I won’t buy anything then I find something I have to get. It’s so hard not to impulse buy there. Highly recommend checking them out if you’re in the area or just want to support some really good people doing something they love.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been coming to this retro video game store for the past three years, and not once have they ripped me off or sold me a defective product. They always clean and test everything before putting it on the shelf, and it really shows in the quality of what they sell. Every time I walk in, there’s always something new, whether it’s rare finds, uncommon gems, or just solid classics at fair prices. They never overcharge or try to upsell you with ridiculous markups. Plus, they let you inspect and test out the games or consoles before you buy them. You’re not just handed something sealed and told, “Good luck.” They truly care about their customers and it keeps me coming back. Easily one of my favorite spots for retro hunting. And let me tell you, if there’s a specific game or item you’re looking for, just ask them. They’ll go out of their way to find it and get it in stock for you. I’ve seen it happen, and they’ve done it for me. That kind of service keeps me coming back. What really sets this place apart, though, is the vibe. I’ve hung out and talked with the owners until closing, and sometimes even an hour or two after closing. That’s how cool and genuine they are. I honestly consider them close friends at this point. They even host awesome gatherings with multiple vendors and a ton of cool stuff to check out. If you’ve never been to one, you seriously gotta go at least once. It’s a blast every time. This store isn’t just a shop, it’s a whole community.

Fantastic experience: Fantastic store run by pleasant folks! My kiddos LOVE going here–and why wouldn't they! They always leave with stickers, candy, and/or delightful anime character goods. They just got those popular Lububu things in stock, and their prices are the most reasonable I've found in the whole South Bay area. As for their retro games, they're great. Good selection + fair prices. You don't often get both in a retro game store these days. I saw a complaint about "stickers being on the cart" but I've never had an issue with this. First off, they're quite easy to remove, and second, they're typically on the body of the cartridge rather than on the label. It's also worth noting that many of their collectible games don't have stickers on them and they will instead be priced at the register–common practice given how wildly prices fluctuate these days. The fact that they're closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays has never really bothered me. It's a small family operation, and I don't really need to blow a ton of money on my retro game habit more than once a week :P If you care about geek culture and specifically about retro games, this is the exact kind of mom and pop store you should be supporting. When [major corporation] doubled down on retro during the pandemic, what did they end up giving us? Generic boxes. Ridiculous prices (well above charting). And the most inconsistent availability you could imagine. If you don't support stores like these, that's all we're gonna have in the future T_T

I was kept waiting for a long time ..and ignore ... really bad service the worker they're kept talking over me and ignoring my questions

Fantastic experience: One of the best repositories of retro games I’ve ever seen in SoCal. I’ve been collecting and preserving games for fifteen years and this is my premier goto for collectibles. Unlike other stores that treat retro games as a mercurial enterprise the staff here are not only passionate about retro games but are a bulwarks in preserving the magic of retro games for years to come for all generations. If you are a SoCal collector this is an absolute mandatory stop on the pilgrimage of retro gaming.

Negative experience: This place closes multiple days of the week and even on days they’re open I get greeted by a sign saying “back in 30 mins”. They stamp their stupid sticker on the games themselves and are difficult to get off, the most anti collector move you can make. The name of the store makes me embarrassed to go there and owner is out of touch. Decent prices and selection but I hate this place. It’s a shame because I’d like to support local stores but if this is my options then I think I’ll buy online

Fantastic experience: I came to this store with not a lot of money and was looking for a older handheld and the owner was able to set me up with a psp 2000 and a game. the owner and his wife are noting but nice and always ready to help you and the prices compared to other game stores I have shopped at are much higher for not as good quality. The part is there rarer items or collectibles, they have a lot of brand new sealed items and consoles at some of the best prices beating local and online resellers. Fantastic experience: We stopped in here just by driving by and I am so glad we did! We are from Arkansas and stopped by a bunch of anime/gaming stores in cali and this was by far the best one we came across. Super friendly staff and very helpful and reasonable prices for some awesome finds! We had two young kiddos with us and as we talked with the owners they were super sweet to our boys in making sure they were comfortable. Swing by here you won’t regret it.

Negative experience: Great place but, if you're not about buying (CASH) then you can forget about trading in any games or consoles, I've traded 2-3 times (I guess they hate store credit) and last time I asked if I could trade in a XSX they left me on read, I live pretty far so I had to message them. I do appreciate those times they took in my trade ins but if they see you're not buying enough and you're only using store credit they'll deny your trades, they talk hella negative about gamestop yet they're already worse than them, it's been a year since the last time I have gone...gamestop for the W!

Fantastic experience: This store is really dope! and the owners Steven and Susan they are super nice down to earth people. They have a lot of cool things in here for the space they have you'd be surprised. I ended up buying my daughter a game for her switch from here, I'd much rather give my money to small business owners than big corporations. Also I seen they had this cool nostalgic Pokémon card machine in there its pretty eye catching, definitely will be coming back!

You can get quality Pokémon cards at reasonable prices ..and on top of that, Dr Squatch at amazing storefront deals!! Fantastic experience: I love coming here for their Pokémon/Yu-Gi-Oh TCG. Jogun always keeps a wide variety of cards in rotation every week. Also, this place just happens to carry all the classic games you wouldn’t be able to find any where else. If you’re a Dr. Squatch fan, this is your one-stop shop. Customer service here is their best attribute combined with the best products. It’s a family vibe open to regulars & new faces. I stop by here extremely often because of my first-time experience!

Fantastic experience: I've been a customer of Stuff 4 Geekz since the Galleria mall days and have loved coming back because of the great customer service I receive. I've recommended them to a lot of friends who have also become repeat customers. Susan and Steven are very knowledgeable in the gaming world and Jovi has super cool Pokemon cards among other things. Their store is like Disneyland for gamers. I love that the store's always stocked with awesome inventory for everyone, so best place to buy gifts... They're all super helpful and I always enjoy my visits there. Definitely highly recommend. They are hands down the best family-owned local gaming store.

Negative experience: I went to this store and its my all time store the guy there selling pokemon cards i ask him if i can see a card 10 bucks only he hold the card so tight wouldn't let me see it thinking i would take it fell uncomfortable about it MY WIFE EVEN FELT UNCOMFORTABLE BECAUSE WE ALWAYS LIKE 2 GO TO THE CARD SHOPS N SHOP AROUND N I always go 2 frank and sons n other local card shops and THEY have trust in the pokemon community feels like stuff 4 geeks dnt it was ashamed i had 2 walk out was disappointed that will not be coming back here bad experience and mess up me ever recommending a friend to come here if hes gonna get the same experience i did . DISAPPOINTED !

Fantastic experience: Amazing store with great prices, great selection, and fantastic service. You can easily browse and see every game visibly which is an amazing feat of organization. It's super clean, everything is tested and warrantied, and the owners are great to chat with. I got a Sega Saturn, two controllers, all cables, and two games for great prices and I was able to test everything right there at the counter. Can't wait to go back next time we are in town!!!

Negative experience: The owner is nice I've shopped here before but now I hate this place they have employees who threaten people online on offerup. Once they lowball people online they come here to sell the item. People like Retrotoysandstuff,zeldafan and toy fanatics. They told me to meet them at the parking to fight (pull up) I'm not a gangster I was just trying to sell my old toys online. I don't recommend this place if they employ people like that.

Fantastic experience: This place is my go to for everything video game related merch. They range from Video games (obviously) to toys to anime figures. Not only are the prices fair, but they have AMAZING customer service. They don't treat you like a Walmart customer, they treat you like a friendly neighbor. They get to know you and have a nice chat while deciding on your purchases. Not only that, they also started doing a little side business selling snacks, sweets, and drinks incase you need a quick snack. This cute little business is called "Shhh." Whenever I come here I always leave in a good mood. Highly recommend, would shop here again.

The customer service is AMAZING! The owners Steven and Susan are very nice and honest and they make sure to show you that the video games and systems are clean and functional.
