Fantastic experience: Good shop to go to when you need to get games

Negative experience: Came in to buy the Switch Lite, employee charged me $22.55 for GameStop Pro when I was never asked. She snuck the charge in and only noticed when I looked at the receipt later. Then, I had to go online and cancel the renewal fee— they were going to charge me annually and never tell me!

Fantastic experience: Felix the manager went above and beyond to help my husband and I out today. We had to return a PS5 and swap it out since we had the warranty. They made the process super easy and even helped us out when we realized that we may have left a game inside (we had). Thanks for your patience with is today haha

Negative experience: Came in to use my $5 reward and the manager told me my membership “expired today” and tried to push me into rebuying it. When I said no thanks, she hit me with a snarky “you did save, just saying.” Her attitude was completely unprofessional. This is exactly why people go to Amazon instead of dealing with managers who talk down to customers. I won’t be coming back to this location.

Fantastic experience: I'm an elder gamer, and I still like buying games from brick and mortar stores. ESPECIALLY when you can chat with the employees about games. I went in to maybe buy a copy of COD BO7 like a mindless drone, and this cool person named TIARA convinced me to try Expedition 33 instead and NOW I AM OBSESSED. I will be coming back for Yotei and Squirrel with a Gun per her excellent recommendation. 10/5

Fantastic experience: The store was very clean and was stocked with what I was looking for. The girl with tattoos, T, was really helpful and talked me through the difference between the watch and switch 2.

Fantastic experience: Always a great experience at this GameStop. Tiare helped me the last two times and was so helpful! They clearly play the games I was interested in so it was really nice getting some help!

Fantastic experience: Tiare is the best! Kind, knowledgeable and excellent taste.

Fantastic experience: I stopped by GameStop to pick up a new pair of headphones! There are a few employees here that have tattoos, they were great but specifically TIARE provided excellent service from start to finish. She listened to what I needed, walked me through the different options, and explained the features clearly without any pressure. Her knowledge about GameStop return policies also made the whole process quick and easy. I left with exactly what I was looking for. Great experience and outstanding customer support from Tiare!

Positive experience: Went in looking to buy some cards, haven't kept up with packs in awhile so I asked an employee named tiaday if she would recommend anything from what they had there, started talking about our favorite pokemon and i mentioned being a fan of eevee, ended up finding a small eevee set they had! I'm so glad I went in, I hope to come in again and find more!

Negative experience: Great staff, terrible corporation. Plenty of local shops with no bizarre obsession with memelord vibes

Nathanial Munoz Posted on Google 7 months ago

Negative experience: I went to buy a wired controller and the female employees with tats looked at me like I was a virus - their staff’s attitude are deader than GameStop itself. Went to Best Buy and gave them my business instead. The Best Buy staff reminded me of the good old game buying days… Support local game shops and avoid this location unless you want to deal with a bitter buying experience. Employee attitude is everything.

Negative experience: These people are frauds. DO NOT PRE-ORDER. EVER. They flat out lie to you to get your money and then change things on the release date. Just like they did with the Silent Hill f pre-order. I was told by pre-ordering in the store I would be guaranteed a steal book and now today (release date) I've been told sorry we weren't shipped enough and only received 10. 10? For over a hundred pre-ordes??? Instead of getting a refund I'm going to actually file a fraud claim with my credit card. Because that's what this is, and it's not the first time they've pulled this crap. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if the employees of Gamestop are the ones selling these steelbooks on eBay for close to a $100 and then telling customers they don't have enough to cover pre-orders.For that reason I'm also filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. I don't like being lied to over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over.

Fantastic experience: Felix helped me sell a handful of games, a DS console, and Super Nintendo console and then use my credit to purchase a Switch. The process was super smooth and we had great conversation to help pass some time. Felix was very organized and walked me step by step. I felt Felix was truly doing all they could to ensure I got the best deal for trade in - using an offer for free tempered glass screen cover, letting me know GameStop Pro membership comes with trading in, and making sure I knew what all I was purchasing with the refurbished Switch. Very happy with everything and will definitely go back to this location specifically for the great customer service.

Negative experience: Rude, rude, dishonest and did mention rude. But I smiled and chilled, and was civilized, even though could've been not, so civilized...

Negative experience: I called over the phone asked for a game and ask if it has a box to go with it , i was told yes by a worker, i dont know her name but she had alot of tattoos , i went in person and there was no box just a lose game, very lazy worker and her saying she was like an assistant manager there is very unprofessional , she could of just checked when i called and i could of saved the drive / gas / time. When i went in store i waited in line and 3 people ahead of me, asoon as it was my turn she went to the back room and disappeared for about 10 mins without saying anything before attending me. This gamestop useto be good now its washed down with lazy rude workers. Save your time and go elsewhere.

Negative experience: I’m beyond disappointed with the customer service I received today. I went into GameStop to purchase *MLB The Show* for Switch—clearly marked with a $39.99 sticker price. I was also picking up a used game for my daughter. When I got to the register, the employee claimed the price tag was from last week’s sale and refused to honor it. That’s not just bad business—that’s deceptive. As someone who’s worked retail, I know the law requires stores to sell items at the advertised price. The sticker was right there on the product. The fact that the employee shrugged it off and wouldn’t take responsibility is infuriating. I didn’t argue in the moment, but let me be clear: I will never buy from GameStop again, and I won’t allow my daughter to either. If they can’t be trusted to do something as simple as stand by their own pricing, then they don’t deserve our business.

Eric Seales Posted on Google 11 months ago

Positive experience: You don't get much for your trade in for your games, and most of the time, they don't have what you want also, they used game prices and ober price

Gev Posted on Google 11 months ago

Negative experience: I will never understand why people saved gamestop form bankruptcy, it's the worse game store around. They all are, not just this one. New products are NEVER sealed and they refuse to give open box discounts, their excellent used items are scratched to hell, game boxes broken, they lied to some dude and said PSA returns are 45 days when rn they're 5 months. And they never have deals, ever.....I don't get it. I just don't

Fantastic experience: Just finished at the GameStop store after trading in my Oled switch, Xbox one, and taking 30min to decide on cash or credit… clearly I went with credit and got the meta quest 3 Personally I see a bunch of reviews saying how the customer service is but the great energy I came in with I received right back. Not only were the employees cool to me but also with other customers. John & Tiaday were amazing the entire time. Tiaday helped me with the trade in and took her time to make sure everything was accounted for. Personally I would definitely come back to this store for all my gaming needs in the future if needed. You can’t trade in the meta quest so it will be sometime before that but overall thank you both

Negative experience: Customers service at game stop has gone downhill in ther last 10-15 years. It's everywhere not just this store. Maybe there not doing as we financially but that not an excuse. Went in to store today and was reminded why I don't shop there anymore.

Fantastic experience: A childhood favorite for all who play video games. Great place to go and get whatever video game you need.

Frank Renovato Posted on Google 1 year ago

Negative experience: Customer service is too good. Every employee is trained to steal candy from a baby. They will automatically add insurance to any purchase and pretend like it's added automatically when confronted. Nice, try. They're just looking to catch people not paying attention. This is not the only location that does it, please be careful and don't let your kids shop alone. I have seen them add insurance to a child's purchase when they're parents do not speak English.

Negative experience: Don't waste your time here if you want new games. Had to wait 20 full minutes starting as the only person in line (till it grew) because the lady was taking a console trade. Totally understand that that takes a while, and I was okay waiting, but she avoided eye contact with me the entire time, never greeted me or asked any questions. If she had I could have just asked "Do you have a copy of Monster Hunter or Yakuza?", which she already knew the answer to. But I had to wait the full 20 minutes to finally ask and get a very bored and unapologetic "No, we don't". Both big releases that came out 1 and 8 days ago respectively, and they had zero copies of either, and seemed surprised I asked. No offer to check other stores, nothing. Might have still come back despite the rude unhelpful employee, but it seems like this will be the norm going forward for new releases. What is the point of a game store that doesn't sell games? Should rename the company "FunkoPopStop" Hate buying on Amazon, but what else am I supposed to do if I want new games physically? Not coming back, and letting my 17 year old power up pro membership expire.

Fantastic experience: Thanks Anthony for the DKC Returns HD promotional, very friendly and professional. Good experience, good costumer service.

Tim Premack Posted on Google 1 year ago

Negative experience: The employees at this store are unprofessional clowns to say the least. Slow, rude and always trying to upsell you the membership. Especially the employer named John. I saw a line of five people standing behind me while another employee was helping me at the register. John just kept scanning stacks of games for like 10 minutes while poor customers waited in line. There is no smiles or friendliness here, just broken people mad at the world that they work at gamestop. I recomend Glendale or Northridge locations. They are nicer there.

Monica Adj Posted on Google 1 year ago

Negative experience: Brought in a console to trade in. Employee roughly handled it and pulled parts apart and ended up breaking it resulting in $0 valuation.

Negative experience: Worst customer service ever!! Manager so call Tiare has no customer service experience along with coworker Dylan everything you ask he has no answer to it all he does is ummmm let me ask. Manager gives you attitude Dylan didn’t know what to do when i told him i want it the money back and yes i have my receipt and i was deny my refund by manager Tiare she said it was company rules and they were both trying to give store credit like no i paid debit/cash. When i ask to see company policy Tiare started giving me attitude and laughing at the customer like if this is the circus! She didn’t want to provide her name she had to think about it! She definitely refuse to give store manager name. Anyways never coming back to this specific location with workers that don’t know how to treat a customer! Worst Experience Ever!

Thank you both, I’m sorry I didn’t ask for your names!

Negative experience: Idk what her name is it start with a "T" but I came in today for the deal on the collectibles with my mind on buying 2. They were locked up where you can't even see them and she told me she can't unlock them unless I buy them, are serious? So I can't see what I'm about to buy?? Ridiculous. It's not right to treat paying customers like that. Literally drove 40min to get 2 items but only got 1 cause I was mad she didn't let me look at it. It was just anime figurine that's $28 not even expensive. Terrible experience

Negative experience: I came in on Tuesday June 18th and it was busier than usual given that it is summer. I came in the get Animal Crossing Happy Home Paradise for the nintendo switch which should have been a simple 5 min run. There was 2 people working that shift and the one that seemed to be in charge was preoccupied with a costumer. The other was standing at the 2nd register (let’s keep in mind there is a line and I am apart of it) and not assisting any costumers. The person on register 2 seemed out of it just standing there, they didn’t assist any costumers for a couple minutes. I didn’t know if she was high, disabled, or just out of it at that current moment. (not to be rude. just an observation)The girl on the 2nd register announced that she was open so I went towards her. I stated “Hi just this” as i gestured to the card that was labeled $24.99 for a downloadable game. She started saying devices and trading in and was just rambling random things associated with trade ins. I was so confused. I gave her a confused stare and laughed slightly in confusion and then stated “I’m sorry I’m confused, I am just trying to purchase this”. She looked at me and asked if I had a phone number and I said no. She asked if I had an email and I said no. She than proceeded to raise her voice and say “You can not purchase anything here if you do not have a number”. I got extremely anxious as I felt as if I was being kicked out and all for me trying to PURCHASE an item. I started to look around in confusion and look at the women on register one, she came over telling the girl that was helping me that she cannot refuse service to a paying costumer. She than proceeded to take the girl that was helping me to the back. I stood there in confusion and in some slight embarrassment as I literally got yelled at for no reason. They took about a minute or two and came back a little refreshed it seemed like. It started to go well and she finally started to understand what I wanted, at this point I did realize the was not fully there mentally so I had to be patient. She asked for my number AGAIN which was irritating but whatever. She finally got the item rung up but I noticed it was $19.80 something (again the card says 24.99) before I paid, I informed her how it was lower than said amount on the card and I wanted to make sure it was right. She got irritated and proceed to say “this is what you wanted right?” than went on to telling me how it was right. Okay fine I pay cautiously. I get my receipt and behold it was for the 3DS instead of the switch. I stand there and so she asked if there was anything else I needed assistance with so I explained how I wanted it for the switch and pointed at the logo of Nintendo so she can understand. She than started rambling and started saying something about returning the item. I said “if that is easier for you than yes I would like to return this digital game for a nintendo switch” she than went ahead with attitude and proceeded to get agitated and upset with me. She than tried having me pay a dollar for what ever reason and I look at her in confusion and she stated “you wanted a refund” still in confusion I looked down and she than proceeded to ask if I wanted to donate for charity, when I skipped the donate button she raised her volume again and said “I can’t believe your not donating $1 to help selfless puppies” in a super judgmental tone. FINALLY the manager decided to step in after helping 3-4 people before me and told the worker that her attitude needs to calm down. If she needed to go to the back again, to go. She ofcourse said no and the manager started to help me and figure out the problems the young girl started in the system. The manager explained to me how she was going to make me a standard account just to refund me. The young girl just started going at the managers ear and saying “i can’t believe you are doing this without her consent. petco never did this” This entire time she had a rude tone. Made nasty comments under her breath and just was overall bad customer service. She can not be up front with customers!!!

Positive experience: Game Stop over Game Dude. Well Game Stop doesn't usually have what my son's look for in game's or console's. But really like that they buy old games and or give you credit for them. But I would recommend Game Dude instead.

Fantastic experience: In the face of unruly customers w/ invalid returns and exchanges that I witnessed - Mark really kept his cool and professionalism. He eventually helped me out w/ my console trade-in & purchases, and I was also happy to recover my National Parks water bottle that I had accidentally left here several days ago (thanks to the staff who kept it safe!). Overall a great experience w/ Mark who kept up casual conversations as he helped me out. 10/10

Positive experience: I learned a lot from GameStop, Did you know that Burbank's, Game Stop, can take your fingerprints, even though it's not a Bank / Police Station nor Pawn Shop , I was told..... So, No one will bring in "Stolen Property"( said with a straight face) While I traded in two used games,( therapy, for me ) I bought from them, less than a month before, both valued @ the price of the cheapest game of the 2 games( store credit card) Name of Store should be Renamed ( Game Gougers, Pirates of BS). Is this a New Standard, for Businesses, I wonder what their, Audit Books look like, (Creativity at it's Finest),

Paul Delgado Posted on Google 3 years ago

Negative experience: for this store being small it actually has a good selection HOWEVER the 1 star is due to the workers, i dont know if this is the store where all toxic workers are sent but every time i visit this store the employees are, passive aggressive, condescending, mean, and over all rude, not sure what it is but something needs to be done to re train the people that work at this location, ITS EVERYTIME i visit this store, hasn't happen to me or else i would mention it to the worker but i do see other customers get treated really bad

Kazuya Max Posted on Google 3 years ago

Fantastic experience: Busy place I love the people who works there and the best deals.

Jesse Smith Posted on Google 3 years ago

Negative experience: Called and was told by the employees at this location that i would be able to pick up the new Resident 4 remastered coming out today at 9pm. I arrived at 9pm just find out they are closed by another former fan waiting as well. To top it off theres an employee hiding inside knowing that i came to pick up what i paid for. He was waiting for me to leave, as i walked back to my car he tries to exit, i return to find out why they are closed after confirming earlier that they were going to be open at 9 for this game release. Before i got a word out he ran back inside the store like if i was going to rob him....but in fact i got robbed..if i could give this location 0 stars i would. I hope someone reads this and understands the frustration i went through. Unprofessional acts from the staff.

Negative experience: 0 starts 12 people are waiting outside for this game stop it’s a Thursday and is suppose to open at 12pm it’s now 1 ….. this is awful.

Annalisa Olbrych Posted on Google 3 years ago

Negative experience: While some employees on certain days can help, other days they are incompetent and poorly trained. I understand most of this is a problem with the company as a whole because the customer service is severely lacking with no escalations department to assist customers. They make online returns a nightmare. And my most recent trip to this location the employees tried to make me and my husband feel as though we were crazy for not wanting to leave the store without a receipt for a high ticket item and were shocked that we wouldn't just "take their word for it" every company issues a receipt after a return. I don't know why gamestop thinks they are above providing this basic service. This is not the first time we have had an issue with online purchases and returns, so we were rightfully leary of the situation because again there is noone the customer can talk to on the phone and most in-store employees can't help. Buyer beware for online orders.

Carlos Rodriguez Posted on Google 3 years ago

Positive experience: This GameStop shop is very average and very small. They usually have some good stock but the staff tend to be lazy when it comes to helping you. They are really friendly though and if you get on their good side I have seen people just have chats with them about games. Nothing special about it but it ain't bad.

Luna Moon Posted on Google 3 years ago

Negative experience: By far the WORST employees in America. Not sure where they hire these people and if they get trained at all but they are extremely lazy, rude, impatient, unknowledgeable. The responses I’ve gotten from them baffle me, I’ve never been talked to like that at ANY store. You will most likely walk out of there empty handed and in a terrible mood. Save yourself the hassle and go to Best Buy.

Fantastic experience: I wandered into this store as a last resort. My Ebike had just been stolen at the plaza and I needed to find a scooter to use in the meantime. Reese honestly told me he didn’t know much about scooters so he called his boss. He said he was sorry for the theft and then went over the warranty etc. I then bought the scooter that was actually on sale. It was his courteous and affable manner that made my day better. GameStop is very fortunate to have an employee with this traits. Thanks again Reese.

Negative experience: Horrible customer service. Used 3 cards from 3 different institutions to try to order a $7 game. All rejected orders. Used paypal, the order registered and I was told I have to wait 24 hours for the order to finish processing. The following morning I see it was cancelled. I called up, the rep said it's a problem with the fraud processor. I asked to speak to a supervisor, and they told me their busy in a meeting but will back. After 6 hours I called back, and they told me supervisors don't have the ability to call out. They told me to go into the store. I asked for the name of the fraud detection company so I could clear up whatever problem they're having and they said they don't know. At this point I've used 4 cards from different major financial institutions all under my name/address, used my email, installed an app on my tablet, tried a different browser, used my PC, gave them my phone number, used my paypal account, I think that's more than enough to prove my identity. They provide no other option to fix this other than to find a gamestop store. So for some reason I'm effectively banned from online and they don't know why. They still think I'm trying to cheat them out of $7*2 game. Way to make a customer feel like a criminal you're a poor excuse for a retailer!

Negative experience: They never answer the phone and when they do. Your on hold the entire time. I can take a 14 minute drive and they'll still not answer.

Negative experience: Ok

Christopher Bisente Posted on Google 4 years ago

Negative experience: Slow service, even slower associates. Go somewhere else for your games. Let GameStop die.

Positive experience: Small store and their selection isn't great. Customer service is very hit and miss, mostly do to corporate policies that won't let them serve their customers

Gabriela Jimenez Posted on Google 5 years ago

Negative experience: I bought a ps4 from here not so long ago maybe 2 - 2 ½ months ago and its already not working? Wont turn on but the button to eject disc beeps, I wasn't touching nothing when it started beeping out of nowhere. Why do you guys sell the ones that don't work correctly maybe the previous owners told you guys the problem and didn't care. Why do that? This hurts because it all came out to 350 dollars

Fantastic experience: It has all the games I like and it's been really great going and getting games I want. The pop figures are my favorite because they're really cool to look at and I have a collection of them!

Negative experience: I wish I could say I had a good experience but I got told to leave since my 'face cover' was not considered a mask. I love Gamestop and I know this is just a California thing but damn you could of at least ignored it like the other stores do.

Fantastic experience: Love this store. Great customer service

Hottesome (Quintin Ellis Jr) Posted on Google 5 years ago

Positive experience: A great geek paradise of all things novelty and of course video game. This store is a little smaller than other Gamestops, but the service and the selections are great.

Negative experience: Not to many game selections

Ms. Salazar Posted on Google 5 years ago

Negative experience: Usually the don't pick up their phone you gotta go and drive out there, which could be an inconvenience during this pandemic. The plaza where this store is at is very congested.

Fantastic experience: Always enjoy shopping here. They always have nice employees I enjoy talking to with similar interests outside of video games.

Negative experience: The sale person on weekend (big white guy) is rude, unprofessional and disrespectful. He doesn’t know how to treat Cosumer with respect and dignity. He doesn’t know how to communicate with people. Time of operation is confusing with out update. Time stated that they are open, but he doesn’t even open the door for you. Stay away from this place.

Alan Cox Posted on Google 5 years ago

Positive experience: They sadly did not have what I was looking for and the prices were off on alot of their games, but the staff are awesome and made it a great experience with no regrets, will definitely go back!

Antonio Garcia Posted on Google 5 years ago

Negative experience: Directly support your gaming company by preordering your games digitally. Don't waste your time on a company that does not support global releases for the legit same price and to "leak" the game within their employee's. The cd and digital copy share no differences. Same memory spent.

Fantastic experience: There was a line due to COVID, but other than that it went smoothly

Elmore Posted on Google 5 years ago

Fantastic experience: Always polite. They call when your preorder comes in.
