Fantastic experience: It’s great that this store has tables to sit and sort through bulk. Seth was a huge help too. Great experience. Lowkey crazy prices on Pokemon packs and booster bundles but I respect the hustle. And I bought some anyway so I’m a part of the problem *gulp*

Negative experience: Took my card collection in. One piece and pokemon. My price chart value is at $296. One of the guys ate crow and told me t9o keep my one piece cards cause they didn't have a way to look em up. Needless to say he disappeared to the back. So the other guy looked at a few of my Pokemon cards and offered me $12 for the bulk of it. Didn't even look at my one piece collection. Ripping people off if you dont pay attention to what you got.

Fantastic experience: "Welcome in!" That statement has become synonymous with incoming costomer greetings nowadays. And yet I was fortunate enough to learn that Josh and Jay embody that greeting! Over the top knowledge and service was provided from the moment I heard that greeting until I exited their store over an hour later.

Fantastic experience: As someone who used to manage a GameStop, I have to say this store and location completely destroyed and surpassed any preconceived expectations I may have had about coming in. I was trying to find a business that would possibly purchase some Magic, Pokémon, and Yu-Gi-Oh cards just for some side money. Many places like Through the Decades were “too busy” or some other poorly thought of excuse to look at what I had to offer. This place however, I’ll be honest, left me speechless. Josh, Allison, and Jenny were not only completely the most professional as someone in this industry could be, they were fun to talk to, actually invested themselves in our conversations, and just overall made me have a good time while in their store and left the most positive impression. I also say impression because this was my first time ever doing business with Game X Change. I throughly enjoyed coming in with y’all, and have no idea how much having fun with hall the brief time I was there did for me right now. Thank y’all so much for just being awesome people and please never let that positive energy die. Also Game X Change, they deserve a raise, bonus, something! The way the conducted this level of professionalism with me WHILE also with others in the store at the same time…….you don’t find that anymore. So Josh, Allison, and Jenny thank y’all for everything, keep up the amazing work y’all do!

Negative experience: Tried to come both Monday and Tuesday , it says they are open at 10:00 am came both days and they are not open

Fantastic experience: Good variety of vintage games, Pops, and other collectibles. This location is my favorite GameXChange location when visiting central Kentucky. The other one is okay just didn't feel as well stocked. I definitely like this place more than the jerks at QuickFlips. Because I need a 200 word review: I found Xbox games, Xbox360 games, Xbox X games, Nintendo Switch games, Nintendo Wii games, Nintendo GameCube games, as well as Super Nintendo, and NES games. They also have Playstation 1 games, Playstation 2 games, Playstation 3 games, Playstation 4 games, and Playstation 5 games. There are several game accessories and they offer refurbished parts for some devices and systems however did not have DualShock3 replacement batteries. I've picked up a few comics here making a big dent in a Cable vol. 1 run. I have also picked up some Marvel Select here in the past. The action figure selection isn't that broad but I don't expect it to be. They do great with games. Oh and they have DVDs and BluRay discs. They do have some sodas and snacks. It's one of the few places I can find Cheerwine in Central KY.

Fantastic experience: Literally the best game Xchange ever, the guy who owns this one and the other ones, dude is absolutely amazing and his staff. My husband and I bought a Xbox 360 last night and unfortunately didn’t work (not their fault it was working at first but then didn’t) but we brought it back and had no problems switching it out. Staff was so nice and apologetic. They truly know how to treat their customers. :)

Fantastic experience: I challenge you to find a cooler more friendly and helpful staff at any retail store. We go here to browse individual Pokémon cards, usually for at least an hour at a time so while there I hear the staff interact with all manner of customers and they are alway 100% awesome with everyone.

Fantastic experience: Jeremiah is awesome. Ever since he started working there game exchange has been more friendly and quick to help when your searching for something or trading in a game. I highly recommend this store for all of your video games or electronic needs. Edit: tonight i went in and spoke to Jenny, Jenny is very knowledgeable and very helpful. Fantastic experience: I went to this store today, and was absolutely blown out of the water. We frequent other Game Xchange locations and have never had a bad experience, but today was the best customer service I've experienced in a long time. When we walked in, all of the employees and the manger were very lively and family-like, laughing and whatnot. My daughter is very social, and when she struck up conversation with the manager, he came down to her level and had a whole conversation. He joked with me and my husband, advised on the questions I had about this store and the other location, and was just so helpful. He also offered my kiddo a few Halloween treats, even though we missed the actual day. 100/10 experience, and i grabbed a picture to show it!! Needless to say, we will be coming back.

Fantastic experience: Have to say richmound rd is the best spot Josh over there help me with cash over for psp games game boy and a skate board for ps1 and ps2 I will be back to that store.

Fantastic experience: HUGE variety of all the fun stuff. A decent selection of gaming consoles, controllers & accessories, games for all consoles, smartwatches, and headphones. Besides the electronics, there's a literal wall of funko pops, a great selection of other figurines, and cool character/model building sets. Comic books, graphic novels, more single Pokémon TCG cards than I could go through, and boxed sets of MTG & other card games. DVDs and Blu-Rays galore, plus they're currently BOGO free! I love the variety of tshirts, memorabilia, and decor, plus fun Japanese drinks & candy - like ramune sodas. Definitely decent & competitive offers from them, if you're selling to them. I've go to go back with some Star Wars collectables and boxes of Legos that are just gathering dust. Very chill, friendly, welcoming atmosphere, especially coming from the store manager and assistant manager. I guarantee that if you go in and take some time to really look around at everything, you'll find something you "need" each time you go.

Negative experience: You just lost a long time customer. One of your managers decided it was appropriate to impress their political leanings onto my autistic child. This was a place she loved to come to, but I will no longer support this business.

Negative experience: This place don’t have good experience because when you try to sell something there they only want to give you in return is a penny or even only a dollar for a lot of items they rip people off by doing that and even when you try to sell any a collectibles,figures and cards they still rip you off by paying you only a penny or even just a dollar when I tried to sell a couple of Disney infinity figures they was gonna pay me just a dollar for one of them so don’t go to this place to sell something I rather sell them on eBay for a high price it’s good to buy games and everything thing else from game x change but selling stuff there try to get a higher price isn’t recommended

Negative experience: Quick service, everything seemed nicely organized and displayed. Employees seemed not very friendly over the phone and in person. Employee said "We're just doing our jobs." which seemed like a dismissive, defensive, and annoyed response regarding questions about store procedures and pricing when selling items to them.

Positive experience: Amazing staff. And amazing collections of movies and tv shows. For a game exchange the game part is a little lacking but I found what I wanted. And a huge funko pop collection! I never understood funko pops but what I do understand is gunpla! 4 stars just cuz I noticed the expanded funko collection and shrinking gunpla collection recently. But that's just me.

Fantastic experience: The staff are wonderful here and the selection of games and accessories is top notch. Any issues that I have had are down to the corporate owners and not the local staff. If you are looking for retro games or even current generation games this is the place to go.

Fantastic experience: I posted a review for another location which mostly applies to this location as well they have a ton of up-to-date modern games as well as everything going back to the Atari which the further you go back the fewer games and accessories there are with the exception of the NES there is a ton of stuff. You can get started on just about any retro System including adapters video cables controllers and games going back to the NES all the way up to the PS5.

Fantastic experience: Great store with GREAT EMPLOYEES! Bought a Gameboy Sp that wasn’t up to par when getting it in hands but returned it and got a 2ds that is all that! Super great customer service and a great place to shop for games and merchandise in Lexington!!! Would recommend to anyone who is looking for retro games and consoles!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Negative experience: Was told over the phone they had a bunch of copies of the OG Time Splitters for PS2 and the price was $15. Drove 38 miles from out of town (same day, same location called) for my gf to be told the price is now $19, and didn’t even come with the original case. We drove off without. Not doing business with a sketchy store.

Fantastic experience: Game X Change in Lexington, Kentucky is the best place to go get video games from new to old ones. They have a wide range of video games from gameboy, PS3,4,5, Xbox 360, Xbox1, New Xbox and more. They have comic book and a huge selection of Funko Pops with CDs and records and more. I highly suggest Game X Change over Game Stop and go check them out yourself and see.

Fantastic experience: Great service and aways great prices, I once walked in and was short a few bucks and the salesman I can’t remember his name but he took the tax off of it since they don’t sell guitars very often and the guitar is in perfect condition I still use it to this day and it’s a quality brand name Stratocaster!!

Negative experience: The prices for bulk pokemon cards were not displayed so I asked the clerk. They told me three prices (common, uncommon, rare), I spent over an hour sorting and selecting cards based on this information. When I brought my selections to the counter they told me there was an additional charge for holographics that they had not mentioned originally. This made my selections unaffordable and could have been avoided if prices were displayed. Many of the bulk cards were in a condition unworthy of sale and had food stuck to them.

Fantastic experience: I was a one time GXC regular and felt very passionately about the store for a long time. Unfortunately, from 2021-2023 the quality of the products and service plummeted, the negative energy from staff was palpable, and the general disorganization made it unshoppable. Therefore, I altogether stopped coming in over a year ago. HOWEVER today I returned after looking to sell some odds and ends and decided to give GXC another shot, and let me tell you, it’s a world of difference there now. It seems like the newest manager in charge, Daniel, has really put a lot of love and hard work into the place, and it truly shows. I was blown away by his patience and grace in dealing with a busy store, and the care he showed to each and every customer he spoke to. Genuinely a series of some of the best customer service interactions I have ever been witness to, and as corny as it sounds, it honest to god warmed my heart to see. The store is cleaner and more organized than it’s ever been, and the selection has greatly improved from my last several visits a year prior. It seems Daniel deserves a lot of credit for turning that store around, and it’s certainly made me want to become a return customer again.

Fantastic experience: This store is basically my 2nd home. I'm there basically Monday through Saturday trading games and there prices are the lowest I've seen for all older generation game systems. If you haven't been to a game exchange I advise you to check out one closest to you. I promise you won't regret it.

Positive experience: I have mixed reviews on game exchange. Of course some games are expensive, just because of how rare and old they are, but they are better than other places in Lex. Recently I have wanted to purchase some games and when I go to buy them I'm told that they are in bad condition and they can't sell it to me. I'm like??? Then why have it out for purchase?? Or they don't even have the game in stock, but the have the case out to buy it. Really freaking frustrating. But I still find many great games at a decent price, and the one near Richmond road is definitely the better one. The people who work there are always nice and polite, and ill definitely be going back to that one

Negative experience: No concern for customers. Display their Funko pops so nobody can see what they are without pulling them out. Stand around talking to each other instead of helping you locate anything.

Positive experience: It's a small store with a lot of potential, kind staff, and great prices on used games, dvds, and interesting side items.

Negative experience: Bought $60 worth of used DVD’s for my kids for Christmas, 1/3 of them are scratched/skipping. I have called multiple times and nobody ever answers the phone. Will definitely never buy DVD’s here again.

Positive experience: Nice staff, traded probably 700 dollars worth of collectibles because I didn't want to fool with eBay. Only got 220 dollar. Rough times. But it did help. I know the staff has no control over this. The kids that work there are nice and clearly doing this because they enjoy it.

Negative experience: The store was absolutely immaculate, all the way from the selection of video games and display.The reason that I am rating it two stars is that I purchased a copy of Super Mario World for the GameBoy Advanced, and it does not even play. Please test your games before you sell them to customers!

Negative experience: Really bad coustmer service. I was buying another oled switch for my daughter who is 6. She asked to use there bathroom as we were checking out. With almost 450.00 dollars worth of merchandise. The guy looked at her and said no we don't let coustmers use our bath room. She said she couldn't wait, he still said no. So we left went next door to subway. She used the bathroom and we went to best buy and got the switch.

Negative experience: Was going to purchase movies, but you’re the only location we’ve been to that doesn’t offer the buy 2 get 1 deal. Seems dumb to not do that, and perhaps management should rethink the policy. We’ll shop at the other locations.

Everyone is very friendly & knowledgeable ...wellllll all but 1 lady she's always in an off putting mood but even she can not damper your mood when your here. There's too much to take in :)

They only gave me $25.00 for 20 game's & couple were brand new never opened. But, if I were to buy those same game's from them. I'd have to spend over $125.00 for those game's!

Almost ALWAYS find just what I'm looking for when I stop in. Every time I venture to Lexington, I consider this a must visit store.

Fantastic experience: I actually love this place I haven’t been in a bit but the one thing you want to do is call ahead if you are looking for something specific at the time of typing this there is new employees in the store i only mention this because so much good stuff gets sold to them and they hold it for employees so that feeling that there’s the same stuff there after months of going well that’s the reason but other then that I got a ton of stuff from them that works perfectly only downside is selling rare and high value items to them I saw a def jam fight for New York in the display case at the register for 160$ I already have one thankfully that I purchased from another store for 137$ now the difference between the two is mine is a complete game it has the case and manual as well as a working disc now go back to where I said they get first dibs well that game they have is only the disc and it’s the second copy I’ve seen the first was for the OG Xbox and it didn’t work they were selling that for 80$ so my guess is that disc doesn’t work and when you take it back don’t expect a refund so make sure to have all and any game tested if they say they can’t ask if you could come back with a console to test it on trust me it’ll be worth it to save yourself as well as someone else from buying a broken game

Negative experience: I would give it zero stars but they wouldnt let me. They were being really rude simply because I asked them to check the price of a system. They seemed like they didnt want to work. Will not go back. The male who worked at the time I was there had an attitude and made an, Im just gonna say a customer unfriendly comment. Go to the one on Tiveron Way!

Fantastic experience: My favorite game store, love how they carry vintage games and systems and new stuff. Not to mention they have collectibles too.

Negative experience: Literally just gamestop with retro games you can buy a game from them for a $100 and then if you would try an sell or trade in the same game they would rob you just like gamestop and give you little to nothing for your item and they definitely don't test the games I purchased MLB Slugfest03 and it never worked.

Positive experience: It's very similar to GameStop, but has ALL games and consoles, not just the new and recent ones. Great place to go if you're still using an older console.

Fantastic experience: Seriously, this is what GameStop used to be like. Unbeatable variety and fantastic prices. Find me another store where you can walk in with $20 and walk out with 8 PS3 games that are quality best-sellers and in perfect condition and I'll bet you're also showing me Game X Change.

Negative experience: Had a good selection and good prices but they clearly don’t test their games. One of the games I purchased had sustained too much damage to be read by my GameCube and I was not told that this would be the case. Overall it’s okay, but don’t always expect your games to work

Negative experience: Quit partially due to improper Covid protocols. A bunch of previous employees fell sick and had active workers with positive covid in the store during hours. Rip their customers off on items. Would not recommend.
