If there's a specific game your looking for from your childhood, 100% likely that they have it! Such as Red Ninja PS2, Clock Tower 3 PS2, Haunting Ground PS2 and Rule of Rose for the PS2 what more could you ask for.

Fantastic experience: We've been in a couple times previously and are always treated well. I was trying to hunt down a DSi the other day and had no luck at a few other places. I checked their website and unfortunately they don't have any listings. I asked my wife to give them a call to see if they had one while I continued my search online. To my surprise, they had it! And for $80! They put it on hold and we went to purchase it. I went in and had my DSi within 2 minutes. It was a quick and easy purchase, guy at the counter was nice. It came with a charger and a matching white stylus that EXTENDS! My wife was told that the system was "Marked down due to cosmetic damage" and let me tell you, this thing is nearly perfect to me. It's got a few very small dents, a few tiny imperfections on the front and a small smudge on the back that doesn't seem to want to come off. All of this is to be expected with a 17 year old handheld console that were almost all owned by some clumsy kids. This one was definitely taken care of and it runs games great. Happy with this purchase and will definitely return again.

I was looking through some of my moms old stuff when I found a gba sp, so my uncle told me about places I can get some games and eventually, he told me about this place so I decided to check it out and all the games are in smoothly on the gba except for one but I got a full refund, and all the staff were nice, gave me some suggestions, and where to find specific games

Fantastic experience: This place is FANTASTIC! They have a little bit of everything. If it isn't on the floor, ask an associate, they might have it in back. The employee with the epic beard is awesome. I didn't get his name. I bought a Gamecube and a few games. One of the game cases didn't snap shut and he offered to exchange the case for one that snapped shut. I could spend hours in this place looking at everything that they have. Very nice and helpful employees. I can't wait to go back! Thank you for the excellent prices!

Fantastic experience: Super knowledgeable staff able to answer questions over the phone . These guys had exactly what I needed in stock at a grate price. If you haven't been to the store in person its a very cool place , we'll organized and so many cool items.

Negative experience: Very poor customer service Will lie to you over the phone on a price then when you go in person they show a whole different color game system for the price they told you over phone that was for the original color game system along with the original color machine for a higher price! They don’t like being called out on their phone calls and in person situation but yet try to gouge you on prices and their stuff is constantly too high of a price and they wonder why their inventory is so much by not being able to sell stuff! And will lie and say we can’t give out all info over the phone when answering questions on prices to which exact machines because they are trying to gouge you on your money and that’s all they care about instead of their customer service! They also refused service to me when discussing the prices with someone else over the phone by packing everything up and saying don’t sell to her now since her energy isn’t good so they are lying about everything on their end! Making themselves look better on their end!

Negative experience: If I could give zero stars I would. Absolutely greedy money hungry business. Nasty as heck managers. Don’t do business here. They do not respect anything or anyone. Better service at GameStop. Filing a report to the BBB. Absolutely disgusting place. I was with a witness during the phone call and no threatening occurred on my end which is such a wild accusation. Public reviews mean even negative ones are going to exist. Provide trashy service receive a trashy review. So unprofessional.

Positive experience: I normally don't post reviews, but I have to say this place is great! My first visits, I was a bit cautious because I had read some negative reviews so I went in without expecting a lot. Some of the staff members might not be the best at making small conversation, and don't have much of a humor (a bit cold), but they are very helpful and informative. I'm not the most savvy gamer, but I do love the retro stuff. I've had multiple Pokemon gameboy cartridge batteries replaced, and they work great. I was able to find a Super Game Boy for my SNES and was able to sell some of games at a fair price. Overall, I enjoy going to this place!

Fantastic experience: I really love this place it's what a game store used to be not corporate sanitized like GameStop I bought a couple of games there yesterday. I kind of screwed up and accidentally bought a game that I already owned. And I can't figure out what I did with the receipt so I'll probably just sell it on Facebook marketplace. But regardless that was my fault not theirs I still love their store and will be purchasing from them again soon.

Fantastic experience: Recently bought a ps2 console memory card and some games. System is in great condition. Loads games fast. I had a small issue with one game not loading properly(not their fault disc was in great condition no scratches) they replaced the game no problem after encountering the same issue on their test system. I highly recommend this place. Selection is great. Fair prices and their trade in values are extremely fair as well. I went back today and bought some more games. Hoping to score a original Xbox there soon. Will definitely continue stopping by and seeing what they got

Fantastic experience: Visited this shop today from out of town and was thrilled to find such a huge selection of games, all fairly priced, and very well displayed and maintained. The cherry on top was the exceptional customer service—the woman helping my proactively cleaned both game gear games I selected and then went out of her way to test the GameCube disc (knowing I would be gone before I could check and return it if needed). Great shop, kind people. 5/5 stars!

Fantastic experience: I bought 3 Hyperdimension Neptunia Limited Editions boxes there off at this game store called Super Smash Video Games at Tacoma less than a week ago. 2 are cib, and the other one is brand new sealed. It was worth the long trip driving there and purchasing all 3 of them. I will definitely go back there again if there are other things that come to mind.

Positive experience: I normally go to Super Smash Video Games to take in and sell old gaming consoles or games I have had lying around the house to get a little extra money here and there. Service is very friendly however stereotyping people these days happens way too often anymore and that normally doesn't make the best of experiences. But hey as long as you know who you are at the end of the day God's judgement is the only one I'd concern myself with!

Fantastic experience: Great people behind the counter very friendly sold them all my retro gaming systems and games and they gave me a very fair price… Madisyn was helpful from the start and had amazing customer service from the beginning and did everything with a good attitude, I think I mostly dealt with the owner he was a great guy and very knowledgeable about all the games and systems I brought to him will come back to the store eventually to buy and would recommend this place to anyone. Fantastic experience: I wish I knew the name of the gentleman who helped me here. This man went out of his way and beyond what anyone else would do to help me!! I left this store with all the money went in with and the broken item fixed! The customer service was the greatest i have ever witnessed!

Negative experience: I hate to have to rate this place one star because it used to be somewhere I loved going, but after my last experience I was shocked. Me and my partner brought in consoles and multiple controllers we collected over years of gaming, the staff were very cold to us when we asked questions about the quote (Like what the price would be if we kept one item, which is something I have asked for at several other game stores which will happily help you figure out the new quote). We were offered 100 for everything, which we felt was low, but when we left we were not given back one of our consoles, only the case. They noticed that we leaving and instead of calling out or reaching us by the phone number they had, they said nothing and it wasn’t until I was in my car that I noticed the missing console, which I was able to sell to another game store for 120, more than this place offered for the same console+2 controllers+3 games. I am mostly just disappointed by my experience because this place was easily fair and friendly in the past.

Fantastic experience: It is like a miniature videogame museum. The people working there were so friendly. The prices seem very accurate to what you would pay online. Some of the items seemed like a great deal. They had imports and bootleg versions of games too. The only complaint I had at first was the parking situation, but figured out I could park across the street at the grocery store. Great place to visit!

Positive experience: There's good inventory alot stuff to browse. Prices higher than market value so I decided not to buy but come back to bring stuff to trade. I brought 4 sega dreamcast games total value 310( price charting ). Then, guy told me 80 I'm like 80 what trade? He said yes. Nah, just gonna keep it .

Fantastic experience: Always helpful, most recently went in because I had a few games that didn’t play very well to get them resurfaced. At 7$ it’s really not a bad deal especially on games that would otherwise cost 40$ to replace, so you can use your own discretion in terms of what games are worth it to save. Decent prices overall. Edit: Recently traded in some stuff I thought was only worth overall a few bucks but was surprised when it was quite a bit more, they could have easily ripped me off but they gave me a fair amount on my trade in, stand up place all around.

Fantastic experience: Great Guys! Fair buying prices. I sold them my large collection of video games and systems today. They gave me more than I expected. On top of that, they returned $500 I had hidden in one of my game cases that I forgot about. Amazing integrity.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely love this place Andy is wonderful, my Xbox One S controller suddenly started disconnecting constantly, it needed a firmware update which would not work at home so I took it in and Andy got it fixed in 5 minutes no problem, happy to say I'm enjoying my game tonight! Highly recommend for any gaming needs!

Positive experience: It's 2024 and you're a collectibles store. Stop using low quality stickers. Prices are also a little steep, but there's always a good selection.

Negative experience: I would say the last couple of visits have been alright, considering the game selection they have to offer. However, they sell defective controllers at almost full price. I have bought two Xbox controllers within the last 2 months and both have had problems with their functionality. The first controller had stick drift that was nonrepairable yet they were selling it at 50$ which is ten less than a brand new controller. I then went back to get another since I thought it might have been just an error. I bought yet another controller at full price and was met again with issues. This shows how unprofessional this business is and how they are just seeking money. I would HIGHLY suggest not buying hardware from this store as they sell broken and nonfunctioning equipment.

Negative experience: So I bought a couple games from this store, the two Sega games I bought doesn't work on my new 3 in 1 system, showing a green screen. Before purchasing I asked one of the employees about returns, he said I had 7 days. There was a display that says store credit only. The fine print is left out. I asked about exact exchange but none the same, I saw on receipt store credit is per manager's approval. He did show it was working on his system which was different from me, cleaned it with a q tip that shows how dirty it was. I asked him why sell merchandise if it's dirty, I know other businesses would clean them when games get traded in. He said it was unrealistic to clean every one. I would highly recommend not buying high priced items from this store because you would not get your money back on it. Especially for a game power blade 2 trying to sell for over a 1,000 when can be found for 20 to 40 dollars online. Anyways, if you are buying from them, ask them to test the games in front of you first before buying. I attached their return policy which wasn't shown at their register in full, fine print left out they probably will post it up after seeing this. Or buy a cheap item, see receipt they send through texts to read return policy before considering to buy high priced items. Buying from a multinational store is better off. Response: I asked if you had a return policy, you said had 7 days, did not say anything else regarding that. Also, . No way holdding hostage, just explaining experience and how you were vague with policy but now it's posted here so people can be aware of full policy beforehand instead of what you have displayed...

Negative experience: The place felt off to me. Kind of sketchy. My family and I came in to look around as my 11yr old son wanted to look at switch gamesbto buy with birthday money. He settled on an assassin's Creed ezio collection for 20 bucks. Supposed to get all three games for that cost. On checkout the guy comes back and says it only comes with one because the other 2 were downloads and it doesn't have the code. I asked if there was a discount for him finding this out and he said the price was set. I asked my son if he really wanted to buy it and he said yes. The clerk snickered and said something like "okaaayyyy" and shook his head. After completing the purchase I got the feeling that the guy was trying to steer us away from the sale but didn't come right out and say it. He knew I was letting my 11 year old son lead the transaction and still didn't say anything. Shady. I Looked on a popular Seattle companies website afterward and found brand new editions of the game with download codes for $23. Don't think we will come back here.

Positive experience: Nice store, great selection. Staff were helpful. Pricing is somewhat steep depending on the game. Some are fair while others seem to be overpriced, but I get it you have to make money to keep the lights on. The parking can be rough depending on the time of day so be prepared for that.

Fantastic experience: Traveling from Portland with my brother and came here to look at the selection. We were blown away by the selection of games on display. We ended with nearly a tower of games that we have been looking and at an amazing price. We will definitely comeback next time. 10/10

Negative experience: I've bought ps1 games from multiple locations of retro gaming stores I got games here that don't even boot up look at disc and it looks like they were rubbed on hard wood floors I mean damn guys you don't resurface or anything that's hella disappointing

Negative experience: It kinda sucks to go to this location after having been to the Olympia location so many times. I pass by this place often and the last couple of times have taken it off my radar. I always feel unwelcome in this store when I walk in and really avoid most of the employees because of their lack of customer service and poor attitudes. They have a couple good ones but I always seem to be a bother to them. Pricing also seems rather inconsistent between the two stores with this one being around 20-30% over the other store. I love the Olympia store and have spent plenty of time and money there but I usually am wanting out of the Tacoma store minutes into walking in. EDIT RESPONSE: I didn't have any particular issues today. But every time I'm in it feels as though your employees are cold and uninviting. There is one gentleman in there a younger guy with medium straight black hair that is wonderful. Im not sure his name but he helped me out today and was extremely helpful unlike the other gentleman who has longer curly black hair and I believe glasses. I purchased a copy of Iron man on the PS3 as well as monkey ball touch and roll on the ds and at checkout I asked if you guys would be willing to do 15$ on the iron man. The younger gentleman didn't seem comfortable offering the discount so he turned to the other guy and asked him about the discount to which he replied in a cold tone with the exact words "prices are set". I'm not sure that is at all welcoming or even a kind no to a challenge on price.

Negative experience: Wife bought me a 2ds xl and when I opened it, it had dust particle underneath the front screen. This device was previously opened up and repaired badly. They would not let us return it and offered to buy it back for way less than what we paid for. Shady business that never disclosed this and will not be coming back. There’s a better store on 6th ave. Avoid this place at all cost.

Fantastic experience: I love this place. I hadn't been for a while and since the last time I had been there they remodeled, everything is laid out really well, and the games are really well priced. The staff are super friendly and willing to answer any questions you have about anything. I will be coming back.

Fantastic experience: We went for Wii games. They had a huge selection. The prices ranged from $5 -$30 for games. The console for $95. They had games from Japan. They have other selections like Nintendo 64. 7 day return policy. All games consoles available.

Fantastic experience: Hadn't been in for years before today, but it was as great an experience as it was then. Games are organized alphabetically and everything is well-defined. Selection is phenomenal. Prices are amazing. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful. I went in looking for a PS2 game and a few replacement peripherals for it, and the staff helped me get the quality products I needed to enjoy that experience again. I am infinitely glad that this shop is still around, and hope that it continues to stick around for years to come. Negative experience: Bought Paper Mario……Got the box an the booklet!!! But, got Super 64 Mario cartridge instead of the Paper Mario; really disappointing, because I really enjoy coming and seeing what they have and I travel a long ways when I do plus I spend good money too!!

Fantastic experience: Super awesome store! It's such a cool environment with a helpful and friendly staff and they pay GREAT rates for games. I recently went in with some old games and equipment. I thought, optimistically, that maybe I'd get $200 for it all. I ended up leaving with more than DOUBLE that! Maybe I could've made more online, but with 50 times the time and effort that I got by simply trading with them. Can't recommend highly enough.

Fantastic experience: Very knowledgeable staff and helpful. Asked about the SNES Mystical Ninja (very unknown game) and they were, to my enlightenment, familiar and agreed on its rarity. Got an unopened boxed Gameboy and they have a fun game where you guess the video game song to get a discount. That made the experience so much more fun! I felt like I was in some sort of anime show. They haven't done that the last few times I've been though... Bring it back!

Fantastic experience: Was gifted a old xbox 360 from my brother and in turn wanted some old games I used to play on ps3. They had what I wanted and it was also fun to browse around the other systems and the games.

Negative experience: Up visiting Washington from Oregon, went to this game store for the 3rd time, all 3 times we were ignored. This time we stood at the counter and waited infront on the register. 5 workers just moving around. Wasn't bothered about that until a worker walked up to the register and started talking to the people behind me, even lifted his head to look around me no high how you doing nothing

Negative experience: Made a long trip to visit this store and found a lot of games I wanted, however they do not consider “CIB” as actually complete. They also have a very limited return policy and do not seem to test all their games. I purchased wii play and didn’t test it immediately considering I have never had issues with a game store selling games that don’t work. Their return policy of no exceptions after 7 days means I wasted $40 on a wii game that doesn’t work. I don’t think I will be making the trip here again. Edit to owner response: your information is incorrect. I was not offered to have the disc resurfaced without the receipt, I was told I would need to bring back all the info with the disc. Also, as a retro game store, you should understand that not all consoles are hooked up for gamers at all times, you should test all games before you put them on the shelves. And finally, as I discussed with your employee, the disc itself has no scratches and a resurface would not be sufficient in fixing the game. I should be given a new disc as the guy who sold me the game said “we have a dozen copies in the back”

Fantastic experience: Went here a week or so ago to get a charger for my DS rather than Amazon and I was surprised by the amount of games, came back today and picked up a couple of games for my DS to use for trips instead of my Switch. Staff are friendly and the place is clean and organized. Will definitely come around again once I’m through with these games and pick up some more!

Fantastic experience: The “Super Smash Video Games” store & their employees are beyond amazing. I go to this location pretty often & not once have I ever had a bad experience, nor have I ever left the store feeling ripped off/upset in any manner. Their trade in prices are extremely fair in my opinion, they have huge selection of games, and if they don’t have what I am looking for when I go on the staff goes above & beyond to help me find what I need elsewhere or put me on a list to call you if someone else brings that item into them. A lot of stores would just tell you “oh sorry we don’t have it, keep checking back” because they don’t want to give competitors the sale, but these guys have given me multiple other resources to find the parts I need. Anytime I bring something in that they cannot take, they always make sure to explain to me what the issue is & how/if it can be fixed. They are super knowledgeable about the business they’re in & they don’t seem to mind giving advice/help when asked. If they don’t know how to answer my questions they will ask other coworkers for their opinion & will look up what I’m asking if no one else knows around them. Every time I go in to this location I come out with more knowledge & feel confident that I am being given accurate information. I have always been treated with the upmost respect when I go in & I would 100,000% recommend SSVG to any friends or family with confidence that they will be treated in the same manner. You guys + the young lady who works in there are ALL amazing people & I can’t thank you all enough for all the help/advice you have given me!(:

Fantastic experience: One of the best retro gaming stores in the area. Huge selection and very nice employees! I visit everytime I'm nearby.

Negative experience: Huge inventory and great selection. I will never give these hustlers another dollar though. Sold me a GameCube controller that had its joysticks replaced by what I assume is someone using a fork and a bic lighter to do the soldering. PCB contacts broke when joystick was pressed down, entire controller is trash now. These guys knew I was new to the system and passed this off on me with a one minute trial run. Saw me coming a mile away, they knew exactly what was inside this controller.

Fantastic experience: The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. The main thing I noticed is how absolutely impeccably clean and organized the store is. There wasn't a single cartridge out of place

Fantastic experience: 2021 12 Has a lot of everything Nintendo anything, Sega stuff, PlayStation whatevers, XBox things, and handhelds. Saw lots of merch for sale and it's not just posters but plushies and extra accessories options to buy buy not necessarily needed. Enough employees and they let people in and keep the door locked. They have the most stuff I have in a retro store!
