Negative experience: Waited in line outside the store for hours for the switch 2 preorders. Got mine preordered and all good to this point. I had to go out of town the week it was released. I called and asked Gabe the manager if it would be ok if I could pick it up the following week since I wouldn’t be there. First he said no because they have a 48 hour policy which I get that’s not his fault. Asked if he could maybe make an exception and he said he could hold it until Wednesday which was when I was supposed to be back. Got called the day after it released and spoke to a woman who was giving me the notice that I had until the end of day to pick it up. Told her that I spoke to Gabe and she confirmed I was ok to come pick it up Wednesday like we said. Had some family stuff to deal with which was the reason I had to leave, but I ended up coming back today (Sunday), which was three days before the agreed pickup date. I come in and got told it was sold already and that I was supposed to get a call to inform me that they couldn’t hold it because their DM got involved and didn’t let them hold it. Never got a call or anything. Someone dropped the ball there. But I also didn’t have my money in my account which is weird because if it was supposed to be canceled why wasn’t it processed? I know that maybe they couldn’t hold it and that’s not their fault, but if they would’ve called me back to let me know I would’ve done everything in my power to get someone to go pick it up for me or something, and if I couldn’t then it would’ve been my issue and this review wouldn’t have been posted. But it was negligence. It’s the fact that they royally dropped the ball and all I get for that is sorry. I get it I work retail too and these things happen, but I wasn’t offered any solution at first until I pressed for it besides a refund, no sort of workaround or compensation for my time wasted standing in line for literal hours for a preorder that I now have to wait and see when they hopefully get more stock in. So I wasted a lot of time for nothing and now I don’t have the console I preordered. I hate that I’m making this complaint against them because I’ve worked with them before and never had an issue. But like I said I literally just got back from out of town (12 hour drive) and the first place I went to was here even before getting home because I was aware about the timeframe and wanted to be proactive. The whole way GameStop and their systems work is stupid. I shouldn’t be punished for not being able to pick up my console that I already paid for in 48 hours. It’s not like I put $5 down, I paid the whole thing off and have the receipt for it and everything. Just sucks to have wasted so much time waiting for the preorders to not have what they already took my money from with no issues there of course. Do better.

Negative experience: I love this store but I recently had a bad visit, I was sold a counterfeit Xbox game, not sure what to think. Tried to return it but it was too late. I think the store should at least try to check if games are real. Simple as looking if the holographic seal is there or not

Negative experience: The worst service every watched me and my son stand outside. While the store was suppose to be open at 12pm and where were there at 12:15 and made us stand for 15 mins. As he watched us. Luck my son wanted the game will never go back.

Negative experience: Called in a few weeks ago and asked if they'd have an early release for a game, they said there would be one but when we went on the day and time we where supposed to get it they said they'd had no knowledge of an early release and I went home empty handed, last time I'm pre ordering stuff there

Fantastic experience: Maaaaaan, these guys really came through. My son bought his pre-owned NES Switch online (shout-out to my boy, saving his own money for dang near 2 years! Lil Hustla EARNED them Benji's!) and had issues with one of the joycons. Just got the thing, waiting and saving for so long, woulda really sucked to have to wait to ship it back. Took it into the store, and the guys on staff were super helpful! They tried to get the thing to work, took the time to figure out the issue, determined it was defective and hooked us up with a direct exchange in rapid time. Super friendly and helpful, I've not had that good of service anywhere in the entire state of Kansas. Really great guys!

Fantastic experience: The worker, Nathan, was super helpful! We bought a Switch Pro controller and ordered a game they didn't have around town to be shipped to us. My son had gift cards from Christmas to use and one wasn't working, he helped us figure out how to redeem it. We will definitely be back to this location!

Negative experience: Bought a cheap game and the guy tacked on a warranty without asking. It's not about the price, warranties on games are cheap, but it's dirty to put that on without permission. GameStop as a whole is just a garbage company.

Positive experience: Not a bad, or good, experience for me, it was my first time being in there in years, and we were only there a few short minutes. The employee was decent, we only asked her one question, she answered and that was that. We were looking to buy a Nintendo Switch and of course, being so close to Christmas, they were all sold out Can't blame the store for that, only my own procrastination!

Fantastic experience: This store is by far the most helpful, pleasant gamestop I've ever been too. My store closed at Kellogg and Greenwich and after calling another store he wasnt sure how to handle a warranty so i called this store and I'm glad I found this gamestop. There's one closer to my house but I'll drive the extra block or two. Thank you!

Fantastic experience: My daughter likes to buy those scary dolls that come out of a box. My son likes to check out the games. I tried to pick some good games out that I would love to have played with them, but apparently I've got bad taste. Except for the Lego Xbox games that we always enjoy. Used games, zero scratches, and affordable for the poor people such as myself :)

Fantastic experience: I have had rather mediocre experiences here in the past and have usually only given them a three star rating. On this day however, I was helped by a gentleman named Nate at the location on 29th and Rock. He was very helpful and helped me locate the charging cord and rechargable battery packs I was looking for that goes to a controller for my husband's Xbox one x. I am not a gamer of any sorts and do not know anything about any of this stuff and had been on a hunt for these battery packs for a few days and had tried online and Walmart already with no luck. I bought these and took them home and since they were after market my husband was trying to put them in and said they were the wrong ones and they wouldn't fit either. I took them back to Nate along with a spare controller and an old battery and he stopped what he was doing and took the time to show me how the battery packs go in the controller and that they do actually do fit but there is a slight trick to them. Nate is now my new go to guy when I need answers to gaming stuff because he doesn't make me feel stupid for not knowing about it. Thank you Nate!!!!!

Negative experience: My wife and I went to game stop, and one of the workers (Gabe), told us we couldn’t stand somewhere while he was helping a costumer, acted like we inconvenience him while returning a game, threw the game, and then slammed our money on the counter. During this he was mumbling under his breath. It was not a pleasant experience and we will not be going back to this location.

Fantastic experience: I like a kid in a candy store. I can be there for hours looking at everything while asking a ton of questions an the staff is some of the world's best people. Trading games, you will get double the points for it an they have free give aways everyday. Used gaming is the way to go an if you needed a warranty no problem. Returns no problem. Walking in an seeing the staff smiling at you no problem. If it wasn't a store I would move in an rent a back room:) pro members membership is they way of the future an you can build your points up.

Fantastic experience: Friendliest and most helpful staff I have ever seen in any store across the US. Huge selection of games and game consoles. If a facility doesn't have what you want, they will call and find a facility that does. While people feel their trade in values are low, they have trade in specials that will double or triple the earned cash or store credit, so be on the lookout for that.

Negative experience: Went in to trade in my wii u and xbox one. Got the right price for my wii u, didn't get the right price for my xbox one cause it had some dust on it. Brought up the deal about the nintendo switch going on, that was valid thru today. I cleared the dust off made it clean, still would only offer me 100 dollars less than what the deal says. Wanted to trade both those towards a switch and spend money for games and etc, but nope. Decided to keep my xbox one and going to sell it to someone else. Why put deals on the page when your stores don't abide by them. Never had so much issue before with any other gamestop. Go to the one at the mall the staff there are awesome and really work with you.

Fantastic experience: I'm not much of a gamer -- that's hub and boy's arena, but I went in to trade a ps2 and get a game, and not only did Stefan make it a totally painless experience, but overall it was fun. He was really helpful, and both he and the other guy who's name I didn't catch were extremely tolerant of my poorly behaved 6 yr old. Great customer service!

Fantastic experience: This is a great Gamestop location. The manager, Isaac, is extremely nice and knowledgeable about games and enjoys talking games with you. He will actually listen to you and recommend games, based on what you like. I actually drive out of my way to come in here to get my games because of him and the great people there.
