The service tends to be perfectly fine and the stock is pretty good but it seems to constantly be understaffed and locked up whenever I’m looking to stop by, a vague note saying they’ll be back without any hard times listed which is annoying and unhelpful. I want to leave a better review but sadly this is a serious issue

Negative experience: Strange place. Went in to make a purchase. they were more concerned I buy powerup membership. And more concerned I buy a warranty. And more concerned that I spend way more than wanted to get a slight discount and a powerup card. Im a gamer, I know what I want to get. Just give it to me. Instead the clerk made it awkward and painful. kept saying "wow your crazy", "how could you not want that?" "No? seriously? wow"....... This is why Gamestop wont be around much longer. Next time Ill just use Walmart as its less painful. Walk in>Purchase>Leave>Home.
Negative experience: Place is supposed to be open over an hour ago and they are still closed. Not the first time this has happened. Save your self the headache and go somewhere else.

Fantastic experience: I stop here maybe once a week to check out the figures. There isn't much, but the selection has been better than wall mart lately. I redeemed some points and put them towards a box of Killer Klowns From Outer Space cards. Well, I had my monthly $5 off, and the broad that checked me out, applied other points I had from buying random crap that I don't need. I remember it like it was last week. It actually was last week, so I remember it correctly. They showed me the new undisputed boxing game and it looks incredible. They seemed bummed that I didn't pre order anything. Probably as bummed as I felt when I stepped on my favorite pet fish and squashed it. I remember there was this cool fish called a red tail shark. I was looking for him or it... one morning... and my big toe squashed something slimey. Yeah it was traumatic cuz I was like 8?? Anyways, yeah, Gamestop.

Positive experience: I've been to Gamestop less often since they shifted their business model to carry more game-related trinkets and fewer, well, actual games. That came to bear during my recent visit to this Howard Road location while visiting family. They were out of stock of a game that released only a month and a half before my visit. Maybe if they didn't devote so much store space to Pikachu plushies and those hideous Funko Pop figures, they would have had shelf space to carry the products that established their business in the first place. The single employee they had working there was friendly, but needed a second employee there to help him with multiple customers in-store at the same time as us. Additionally, Gamestop's central computer system was glitching during my visit, as he was unable to process a "ship to home" order for the game that wasn't in stock. He was able to process a pre-order for another game, so I guess that's a .500 batting average for this visit. As evidenced by this visit, Gamestop's model of carrying more random merch than games isn't going to bode well in the long run. Because what's the point of seeking out a Gamestop when their game selection isn't any better than Wal-Mart or Target?
Fantastic experience: So glad I buy all my controllers for XBoxone here. Great customer service, and the warranty is worth it. Game prices are affordable. And they carry many games and very knowledgeable.

Negative experience: Just the worst experiences. lie through their teeth and completely just sucked all the excitement and enjoyment out of me. "we have preorder bonus for everyone who preordered, don't worry" turned into "oh, we gave them all out earlier". "come around 11" turned into "oh, we all sold out at 10". Don't believe a word they say and just shop somewhere else if you want anything other than used games or overpriced merchandise.

Positive experience: The Nintendo Switch we bought had multiple issues... granted it was a used console they still promised/ guaranteed it was in great condition. The Joycons are extremely loose, the left one has a hard lag to the right when playing racing or first person games. Also there was no charging cord in my bundle package. We returned the mario kart 8 game we bought there too bc it wad over 14$ cheaper at the store right across the street. Overall it was a poor experience for someone just looking to get into gaming.

Fantastic experience: Took my son to get a controller and a new headset. The sales person didn't try to oversell him but rather helped him pick out the best ones for his needs. He was super friendly and very knowledgeable. The staff usually is when we go. This is our favorite location.

Negative experience: (Sunday) Tried to trade in my PS4 having just found out the extra trade in promo deal ends today. They would not accept without the cords. Drove 30 mins home got the cords, make my way 30 mins back out as they are the only store open late, with 40 mins till closing time, get pulled over by the police for speeding, cop lets me go, make it there with 10 mins to spare. The guy says there no way he will have time to process me with 6 other customers in the store and only 10 mins. And turns me away. I will never be going to this store again. Talk about ice cold customer service. - 1000 waste of what little extra time I have, waist of gas.

He searched boxes, did internet research and found out they were delayed. He then called me this morning (I didn't leave my number) to give me more info he found on how I could preorder and the date Gamestops are now getting the item. Dan went way out of his way to help me and was nice about it the entire time! Thanks Dan!!!

Fantastic experience: I just wanted to say that the employees at this GameStop are top notch true to the lifestyle professionals. I'm 42 years old and have been gaming since first game ever Pong on Atari and owned pretty much every system ever made since then and probably beaten or 10's of thousands of games by now. The people here are so knowledgeable about any question I ask, very impressive.

Fantastic experience: During this covid mess my daughters headset broke (it was warranted) so i didnt want to just buy another one. I spoke w/james at the Howard rd store. He explained everything & i was able to drive there , stayed in my car & get a new headset - it only took 5 minutes. Awesome job James-
Negative experience: Greece ridge gave me a broken used ps3 and told me no other store had one to replace it with my 1 year warranty so I go to chili ave and they end up having one when guy at greece said no one had any in stock. So guy at chili replaced it and now there's another problem with it. Smh I'm over gamestop are they not checking these products before selling them? I think they dont really care if they are selling broken or messed up items

Negative experience: Bought a switch that came out of the box cracked and missing pieces. Exchanged it for another that won't take or hold a charge. Dont spend your money here. The employees are polite enough but the corporation is scum and should not be supported.

Negative experience: I attempted to describe the item I was looking for on the phone. Salesman kept putting down the phone before I could even finish telling them what I was looking for, which lead to a MUCH longer conversation than was needed... Had they stayed on the phone for more than 5 seconds when I tried to describe I was looking for a USED XBOX, they would have had the answer for me. I heard the guy in the background say "oh but that one is used"... That's when I was able to tell they weren't even listening to what I was asking for, because when he came back on the line, I told him "I'm not looking for a bundle, i'm not looking for new, i'm looking for used". He told me he'd go looking in the back for it and the guy in the background said "we don't have it". That's when the salesman came back on the phone and said: "I'm sorry, it says we have one but we lost it and don't know where it is, we tried to find it yesterday but can't"....

Negative experience: The person working at this time was EXTREMELY RUDE. She was literally herding me out the door as id i was cattle right as 9pm hit. At other gamestop they wait for the people inside to finish and are patient while not letting anyone else inside. Here, the lady herds you out like your cattle yelling over everything "Okay im closing NOW!"

Negative experience: I traded in a PS4 system for a newer one. I accidentally left a brand new game in the system but by the time I discovered it, they were closed for the evening. I called the next day as soon as they opened and they said they were too busy to look at the time. I went in later that day and gave them my info along with the reciept for the trade in. They could not find the system at all and said they would speak to the guy who did my trade in. They were supposed to call as soon as they spoke with him. I waited 5 days before deciding to call them myself. She said they found the system and there was nothing in it. Either 1 of 2 things happened: the kid that did the trade in took the game for himself or they never even looked and bs'd. I know the game was in the system. I was a loyal customer to this particular location but I will no be spending my money here or possibly at any gamestop in the future due their dishonesty and lackadaisical attitude toward my claim.

Positive experience: Had a good experience here this time, poor customer service in the past. They had what I was looking for and were able to help me check out quickly. They didn't offer additional help to another customer who was not satisfied which surprised me because the other locations often offer to call and locate specific items at other close locations and are super friendly.
