GameStop: Reviews
Negative experience: Omg I drove 45 minutes to pick something up at this gamestop, 1st off the guy was nice, however what the heck is up with the overwhelming stench of cat pee Omg my eyes were watering, nose was burning, I didn't even get a chance to look around as the smell was sooooo bad.. I couldn't wait to get out of there... unbelievable.. I can't be the only one in the past 2 weeks to notice that, right?? Sheesh...
Fantastic experience: They have everything you need from Sega cd to ps5 ...
Negative experience: No wonder all the stores are closing down because they are ripping people off! They are selling this pre owned game for 30$ and it's 20$ brand new at Walmart.
Negative experience: Didn't want to even give 1 star but in order to post this, I had to. I've heard the manager treats his employees extremely poorly, especially if they're women. They don't supply toilet paper and say mean and hurtful things to employees. -100/10, do not recommend and I hope this awful behavior is brought to light to the proper authorities. What comes around, goes around.
Negative experience: I once enjoyed coming to this store. The layout is welcoming and the products they have (used and new) are in great working condition. Today though was another recent example of a poor experience. I came in to complete a trade in for a console, and the employee running the store informed me that the system was down. That would have been okay if the conversation ended there. After all, these things happen and I can understand the stress it can cause. However, after asking a simple follow up question, the employee repeatedly said they couldn't due trade ins. Acting like I was an idiot. When I was a kid the employees here were always so friendly. Now, not so much.
Negative experience: Online inventory said they had 2 of the consoles I was looking for, tried calling 4 times to check with no answer. Drove all the way down there just to be told that no, they don't have any, and that the phones have been on quiet for the past hour. Go elsewhere.
Fantastic experience: Alot of games , deals and options . Not to mention pro membership does do something .
Negative experience: The worst experience i have ever had at gamestop today with Skyler, I have been a pro member for 13 years with no issues till today. I came in for a return on Hell Let Loose that I bought the day before for 34.99$ with the receipt when I meant to buy Hell Is Us. I was only offered a 25.99$ return value just because the game went down even tho the return is well in the window. Absolutely horrible
Negative experience: ⭐ 1-Star Review I recently visited this GameStop location and unfortunately had one of the most disappointing retail experiences I’ve encountered, especially for a specialty store where customer service should matter. What stood out the most was not the product selection or the store environment, but the behavior and attitude of the associate assisting me. From the beginning, the interaction felt dismissive. The associate’s tone came across as rude and noticeably impatient, to the point where it made the entire visit uncomfortable. He repeatedly made sarcastic, under-his-breath remarks that served no purpose other than to belittle questions that any reasonable customer would ask. One of the most frustrating responses was when I asked about missing price labels. Instead of giving an explanation or offering help, he stated they “did it on purpose,” which made absolutely no sense from a retail standpoint and came across as unprofessional and careless. In addition to the negative encounter, the way he handled the items I was purchasing was extremely concerning. Instead of placing them carefully into bags, he simply tossed everything into boxes with no regard for the merchandise or the fact that I was spending a significant amount of money. Because of how rushed and annoyed he appeared, it was clear that he did not care about the quality of service he was providing nor the experience of a paying customer. It is disappointing when an employee’s behavior overshadows an entire store, but in this case, the associate’s attitude completely ruined what should have been a simple, positive purchase. Regardless of how busy a store might be, customers deserve courtesy, professionalism, and basic respect. If an employee gives the impression that they don’t want to be at their job, it reflects poorly on the entire business. Based on this visit alone, I cannot recommend this GameStop location. I hope management addresses the issue, because customer service should never be the reason someone leaves a store frustrated and unwilling to return.
Negative experience: Can yall make sure that you guys actually come back from break when you say you will? Waited outside the doors past their announced break time just for the not to show up. Dude was just sitting in the back with the doors closed
Negative experience: I want to express my complete dissatisfaction with the service provided by this employee, Skyler. From the moment I tried to request assistance, he displayed a completely indifferent and unprofessional attitude, with no interest in resolving my situation. In addition to not offering any solutions, his manner of addressing me was impolite and even uncomfortable. His lack of knowledge about his job and a total lack of empathy for the customer were clearly evident. I believe that a person with that attitude should not be in charge of customer service, as instead of helping, he creates frustration and damages the company's image. I hope they take corrective measures and provide better customer service training.
Negative experience: Salesman wouldn't open the door when it was time, crowd of people standing outside until 11:45. Won't go back....even though he clearly saw all of us, he ignored us.
Fantastic experience: Very good gaming store
Negative experience: Don't shop here. I figured the total at the register was higher than it was supposed to be; a disc warranty was tacked on to my purchase without any mention or permission. I caught it in-store on the receipt. I asked why the warranty was tacked on, asked it to be taken off and was refused a refund. Was given some lie about discs getting destroyed easily and how it's a required purchase.
Negative experience: If the cashier is Charles, run. He tried to sell me tons of extra things, every single one of which I said no to. Later, I realized that he charged me for a protection plan that he somehow never asked to sell to me, and when I called GameStop support, they were unable to give me a refund. Charles also made fun of the item I was buying, which was pretty annoying. Don't trust Charles, and just go to a better store.
Negative experience: Asked the employee if their own price could be price matched since a Switch version of a game was more expensive than the PS5 version and was told very rudely that they do not price match. I explained that I was really asking since it’s their own price and was met with the same exact rude response. Floor is dirty and the shelves are half empty. The used game stock is abysmal for Switch and PS4. Honestly I’m surprised this store is still open.
Negative experience: Traded in a ps5 for a ps5 pro. I was told a gamestop membership was free, but saw a $25 charge for it on my receipt. I was not asked if I wanted a protection program, but found a $75 charge for it on my receipt for it. The “new” ps5 pro I later discovered upon inspection to have already had the box sticker seal cut upon examination, so it was previously opened. Then i got an email saying i was enrolled in an auto renewing membership which took some work to cancel. Opened new hardware is not returnable, so basically i walked out of the store having purchased a new device that i can’t return. Avoid this store and gamestop.
Negative experience: Rude and persistent sales clerk.
Positive experience: A lot of games to choose from and used game systems
Negative experience: rip off on trade ins and long waiting times before being helped
Negative experience: Call 13 times no answer and then they were rude and nasty when we drove out there don’t go to this gamestop
Fantastic experience: Go to shop for games. Great helpful customer service.
Negative experience: Game stop is not the same when I was a kid and a teenager they suck and don’t sell them nothing they going to play you
Fantastic experience: Goy a Gas mask from them
Fantastic experience: Nice place to get video games. was shocked to get a video game I was looking for for a long time. After not being able to find it, other places well priced
Negative experience: I bought a controller yesterday, the employee told me the controller was programmable. It is not programmable, went to return/swap it out today and they told me since I opened it I’m out of luck. The manager was there when I purchased the controller yesterday, and today he tells me there’s no way for him to verify what his employee said. Goodbye forever GameStop.
Fantastic experience: This GameStop and honestly most as a whole are going downhill, but I have it five stars cause the employees at this store are all fantastic and work really hard and don’t get the credit they deserve, keep up the good work ladies/gentleman I only come to shop here to talk to you!!
Negative experience: Over all I like GameStop. But I was not happy that the person working at the Greece Ridge Mall store would not answer the phone btw 10-10:30 am New Year’s Eve day 12/31/22. So I drove to store- no customers were there, it was not busy. But the game I was desperate to get was NOT actually in stock, even thought the internet said it was available. If he had answered & told me, I wouldn’t have wasted my time.
Negative experience: Went there for PS5 trade in, ask over the phone what items need it together, went to the store and they say they need also the stand for the PS5, and they dont even have available for sale! What type of game store is this??? Staying with computer gaming!
Fantastic experience: Hi! This is Kevin Didas here! Just wanted to say that the man who answered my phone call was incredible! He answered mine and my friends questions and made us confident on our future purchases! Anytime I need to purchase a video game or tech product, you bet I'll be calling in! Thanks so much, and I will be Pre-Ordering "Suicide Squad Kill The Justice League"! -Kevin Didas
Fantastic experience: Great place for games, and advice.
Fantastic experience: Very good personnel thank you
Positive experience: Always friendly service
Positive experience: Always friendly and helpful
Fantastic experience: Fun store, helpful staff. I will continue to shop and bring my kids here as it's always a great outing.
Positive experience: Regular. Maybe a bit on the small side.
Fantastic experience: It was good I just went there to return a game
Negative experience: I'm still surprised that GameStop is even a company still. Went in looking for a game that comes out that day.unless you pre-order it don't think you're going to find it. And that's a joke as far as I'm concerned. Do yourself a favor download the game yourself and make sure you can help GameStop go out of business
Fantastic experience: Cuantos vídeos juegos tienen.
Fantastic experience: Great selection of games and Funko's
Positive experience: Buena, pero a veces no tienen los juegos nuevos
Negative experience: Don’t answer phone then they unplug their line.
Fantastic experience: The gentleman was very helpful
Fantastic experience: Knowledgeable staff always in stock and local deals
Fantastic experience: I got great customer service here, a game I wanted was too expensive for me new. So they found it used at a much lower price at another store and held it for me till I got there
Fantastic experience: Good prices
Fantastic experience: I̤̮ B̤̮O̤̮Ṳ̮G̤̮H̤̮ A̤̮ P̤̮S̤̮4 A̤̮N̤̮D̤̮ I̤̮K̤̮E̤̮ 3 G̤̮M̤̮A̤̮E̤̮S̤̮
Positive experience: Games games and more games. I personally feel its cheaper to buy on line. But great place to see whats new if you are a gamer.
Negative experience: Service was slow... I had to find someone to get a item that I wanted to purchase
Positive experience: They had what I needed. I always call before going.
Fantastic experience: Theres still no PS5's...
Positive experience: Decent selection of all your basic gaming wants not a huge variety but staff helped me find what I needed and where I could look for what they didn't have
Fantastic experience: Great service and good people.
Fantastic experience: It feels sad to think about even bothering to review a GameStop store. This one is in a mall, and has hung on a bit longer than the other local stores. GameStop is going away because physical game cartridges and discs are goin away, as more and more games sell titles online, and consoles have big hard drives now. There is only one reason to continue selling physical games, and that is for resale. Used games. Which was ironically, a big part of GameStop stores a decade ago. You can't resell a game you downloaded. But you sure can steal it. I heard. This store is a Game Stop. They barely sell games. They are a pop / nerd culture retail outlet. GameStop is now Hot Topic for the kids with parents who live together. What?!? That's a good joke. And I'm a Hot Topic kid. My kids are not, but I am! I have purple-silver hair and an eyebrow ring as I type this, so calm down. You should go. To GameStop. Because they're going to all be gone soon, and you'll be sad. I'm sad I didn't savor my last trip to a Blockbuster. I didn't know it was the last time! It was a different time! Not really. I was less than 20 years ago. Nevermind crying about Blockbuster. Lesson learned. Now is the last chance to see a video game, t-shirt, and dolls for adults store you may ever have. So go to the mall. Get a Rick and Morty coffee cup, the newest Mario game for Switch, some Magic the Gathering and Pokemon cards. You go sit in the foo court with all that stuff and start a nerd flash mob event. There arent tons of outlets so encourage fully charging laptops and phones before arrival. Godspeed nerds of today! You're inheriting this place, which is a nightmare. So please: go enjoy some games before it all burns.
Negative experience: The store has a poor selection, prices that are confusingly marked.
Negative experience: Don't have much in stock which they hardly stock up on items.
Positive experience: It was alright not a whole lot to choose from from different game consoles bit it was alright
Positive experience: Still no PS5 consoles
Fantastic experience: My place
Positive experience: Smaller than other games stops ive been to, so the selection isn't that big when it comes to games and other stuff, it also leads up to it being busy and seems claustrophobic at times
Fantastic experience: Excellent job
Positive experience: I apologize to GameStop for incorrectly voicing my experience about them. My original review was for another store my child and I visited on the same day. That said, both GameStop stores we went to were clean and organized with a variety of selection of Nintendo games with add on accessories as well as other unique future collectors items and gifty stuff. If you love Mando, go here! The sales associates at both stores were friendly and helpful in checking their inventory for the specific item we were looking for but were unable to find. I give 3 stars not 4, because it really stinks as a consumer that they never know what they are going to get, or when they are going to get it. Maybe this fault is on the supplier, but even special orders are not an option because of this. Nice way to break a kids heart.
Fantastic experience: Great place to buy your video games from.
Fantastic experience: Had what i needed warranties need to be boosted
Fantastic experience: One of my favorite stores, great prices and exceptional staff
Negative experience: I originally went into the Greece Ridge mall location in person this morning (5/19/21) at 11am to inquire about the availability of a yellow nintendo switch lite that was appearing in stock online. However, both associates that greeted me were adamant that there were none in stock and that I could order one. I told them about the website saying one was in stock, to which they said absolutely not there is nothing available. I kindly said thank you and left, sat in my car and ordered it online for in-store pickup. I instantly received an email confirmation. I went on an errand as I waited for the email that my order was ready (I expected an email saying there was a mix up and there wasn't one available) When I got that email approximately 45 minutes later, I contacted the store by phone to confirm. They said yes it was ready so I drove back (20 minute drive) to pick up my order, which was miraculously there! Perhaps the associates were trying to hold it for themselves? Or maybe they were just too lazy to check the inventory. Either way, I was not happy with my experience with these associates.
