Negative experience: Me and my son came in here today. No one was in the store, but the store clerk he looked at us twice didn’t even acknowledge us or say hello. May I help you Nothing so after walking to the counter with him and he still didn’t speak to me, I boldly said hello, and he looked at me startled like I was out of place for speaking to him. I can definitely say I will not be back to this GameStop ever again customer service here is nonexistent.

Fantastic experience: Everyone at this location is ALWAYS so patience and kind. My boy's love gaming and I am completely clueless on how these systems work nowadays so this is my go to store for their gaming needs!

Negative experience: I usually visit this GameStop, as it is nearest to me but the Customer Service that I witnessed today was HORRIBLE! I entered the store to do an exchange and walked into an employee named Ivy arguing with a customer about paperwork that he was requesting. I stood in line patiently while she was fussing with a customer telling him 'why don't you just go to another store!", while he was trying to explain to her that he needed paperwork printed. The employee, Ivy was clearly frustrated and at no point did she care that she was yelling at a Customer while there were other people in the store. Then she was upset that the printer was moving slow and voiced that! It made everyone there uncomfortable! The Customer was calm and even at one point said "Ma'am I don't understand why you are going back and forth with me, I just need my paperwork". He wasn't being aggressive or even raising his voice. Again it was very uncomfortable. When he finally received everything that he needed, he said "thank you ma'am" and proceeded to walk out of the store telling her "Happy Holiday's" and she said nothing back to him! She continued to voice her frustrations about him out loud right in front of me even after he clearly left the store. As I finished my transaction with the other employee, I said to Ivy, "excuse me, I feel like it was very unprofessional for you to tell a customer to go to another store while you're trying to help him all because your frustrated and then to do that in front of other customers." She then got upset me and stormed off mumbling under her breath. I haven't witnessed unprofessionalism like that in a long time and especially during the Holiday's!! People come in to spend their hard earned money and to witness and experience Customer Service from her so poor like that is unbelievable!! I hope I never have to run back into her and her bad attitude IF I ever even decide to come back to this store.

Positive experience: 11/26/2025 Been standing outside for 25 minutes past the time they are supposed to be open, and the store is closed. And according to Holiday schedule, it's supposed to be open normal hours. Supposedbly this isn't the first time this has happened, another customer walked by and said that he's been dealing with stuff like this as well. Not sure why they don't have a sign that says later opening time. But it sure gets a little irritating waiting. Overall service is good. Time management could definitely be better. Update, waited an Entire hour and not a single update, post, anything.

Negative experience: Was just in GameStop in Newport News where I was told I couldn't exchange a shirt that I just bought for the exact same shirt in a different size. I was informed I was free to buy the same shirt for full price if I wanted but to reiterate couldn't exchange a shirt for the exact same shirt in one size smaller. Other than that it was just a peachy experience.

Negative experience: What is wrong with this business? I’m truly dumbfounded. I brought in a brand new unopened Xbox controller that I bought two days before with a receipt and asked for a refund. The employee named David then opened the controller up and tried to test it on an Xbox they had in the back. After failing to test it because he forgot to put the batteries in he then stated it was defective and “looks like it’s been used”. Then David denied my refund when I simply wanted to exchange it for a PlayStation controller for my cousin as he does not even own a Xbox. So now I’m stuck with an Xbox controller I have no use for. So thanks David for “using”my controller. The icing on the cake was when David then tried to offer me $20.02 for the brand new Xbox controller as trade in value. It was hard for me to stop myself from taking him up on that offer. David has earned his bonus this year at GameStop where they promote their employees for belittling the customers. GameStop will end up just like blockbuster at this rate. I can’t wait for this company to be gone.

Negative experience: I brought in an item for trade in, It was in excellent condition, No scratches, It powered on, etc. The guy "looked over it" and LOW balled me just to offer $7.00. They considered it as "damaged" Prior to coming into the store for the condition it was in the offer online for trade-in was higher. I know it's not always guaranteed.. However, whoever was at the register that day placed it as a damaged Item when it was not. I went to another location to make sure I wasn't overracting and got offered the amount that was listed online. I found that suspcious so just be cautious.

Fantastic experience: Really great experience with employee Duckie. First off, she was the only one in the store with a few customers already, but out of 6 stores in a 20 mile radius only she and the young lady at Fort Eustice even answered the phone. When we got to the store Duckie had everything I’d ask for over the phone ready for me and she was able to suggest additional products. I spent over $400 in the store but because of her I feel confident in my purchases and the price is justified. I was in and out in less than 10 minutes. Management, please give her some type of recognition.

Positive experience: Staff on hand was helpful, fast and courteous. I placed an order online to pick up online, once I arrived there but the item in question wasn't exactly ready to pick up and go so my wife and I had to wait. On top of that they seemed to have some type of system malfunction, that extended our visit to about 20 mins. No gripes really, just things that can and do happen. I'd shop at this location again.

Positive experience: Bought a game there for me and my husband and thought it was multiplayer (not online but like you can both play it together on the same console) but there was fine print on the back that said you needed one copy of the game per player. So we returned it, the manager seemed really irritated that we returned it and didn’t understand why we could play it together so my husband told him to read the fine print, and then it seemed like the manager was mad bc he didn’t know about the game he was selling. We said “have a good night” and he said “mhm”. Basically the manager was rude, and didn’t know about his own inventory.
