Fantastic experience: Went in for the GameStop card grading service. It was less than 5 minutes - and loved sharing the cards I was sending in for grading. Super fast - would definitely do this again should the opportunity arise.
Negative experience: Misleading advertising and bad service. They wouldn't honor the trade-in price from their own "weed money" ad for my PS5. The staff member I dealt with was rude and lazy didn't even pack my items back up. Avoid this store if you're looking for fair trades or decent service.
Negative experience: Called to reserve a copy of Tomodachi Life and they confirmed the copy to me over the phone, denied the need for a name on the order after I offered to give them mine. Drove to the store and they said they had no more copies left and part of the issue was that I hadn't left my name. Guy working there named Bryan was completely unhelpful and said he promised the one copy to 3 different people.
Negative experience: Worst gamestop ever not wven open always has a sign that says be back in an hour. Every time I go there. Nobody is there. Avoid at costs. If they don't know how to manage within operating hours then shut it down. Stop wasting people time and having false information saying open .
Negative experience: The store associate that works here put up a sign saying that they are stepping out for 2 hours and today’s date is February 18th 2026. They should have got someone to replace the store associate before leaving for that long. I had to drive 20 minutes to get here

Negative experience: WHAT ARE WE DOING
Negative experience: Customer service here is just a straight up lie. Got in line an hour early for the Switch 2 release because a few days earlier they had told me they would have about 70 extra consoles on top of preorders. Maybe I’m dumb for believing them but when they finally got close to opening they told us they had 0 consoles for non pre-orders. Either lied to be cynical or were just plain dumb. Go to another company or at least another gamestop, do not recommend.
Positive experience: GameStop is now got a little better now you can drop off your Sports Cards to get graded my PSA at most locations.
Negative experience: Just showed up on site at 11:50 and at 11:55 the employee comes out and puts up a sign that says “be back in 20 min.” And this location opens late as it is at 12pm instead of 11am like most others. I can’t wait 20 minutes I got here on time to do a return a purchase I got at this GameStop. And this location is 30 minutes away from my home.
Fantastic experience: Derek who works there is awesome! Very friendly and helpful, and you can tell he actually cares about his job unlike many others who work at some of the other Charlotte locations. Thank you for the help!

Fantastic experience: Jacob and Derek were absolutely phenomenal - I came in for a trade in of an Xbox One Series S and walked out with a new console the same day due to their recommendations and expertise. They went above and beyond to ensure I had a great experience that day and resolved all previous errors with my transaction. I cannot thank them enough for the help I was given!
Negative experience: I ordered a graded card online and tracked it back to this store. It must’ve been a miracle that this card survived the shipment with it’s inadequate packaging. I have ordered graded cards from GameStop before they come nicely packaged and safe. This store is the outlier, if it was the first one I ordered I would never order again.
Negative experience: It’s funny I see comments below about break time. same thing happened to me yesterday, I live in concord but work around this area, so i ordered a game for pick up, show up at 4 on my way home. a hand written note said will be back at 5:15. Headed there now during my lunch break,let’s see if any basement dwellers are there working.

I asked him if I got here before 8, before they closed, then why couldn't I pay for my game. He said it's after 8 now so I csnt buy it??? I asked him if I was supposed to cut in front of the 10 people in line and he said I don't know??? What!? I got in the store and in kine before they closed and I wasn't allowed to purchase my game

Fantastic experience: Called the South Blvd store this evening inquiring about an item that was showing in stock for another store I visited in person earlier. Carson answered and after physically looking for the product( not relaying on the computer alone) he confirmed that it wasn’t in stock. I know this happens quite often with the inventory systems and was very grateful that he saved me 45+ min trip during rush hour. But it did not end there. Carson then made it a mission to find a store for me that had the product I was looking for. He used his personal phone to contact multiple other locations while on the company line with me. He was also targeting the stores near the area I told him I was calling from. After 10+ attempts he finally found a store that answered and that had it and he arranged that the product was held for me in Matthews for an hr. Hands down best customer service in years!!! Employees like Carson should be cherished every day and rewarded for their commitment and outstanding service!
Fantastic experience: Carson has the best customer service. I was too busy reading my Bible in my car and he waved me in to show that the store was opened. Carson greeted me and listened to me explain about how my left Switch controller wasn't working. He helped me buy a refurbished left controller and took in the defective one and gave me some helpful information on my switch. Definitely the best GameStop experience that I've had.
Negative experience: I was supposed to pick up a game from this store, it says they open at 11:00 am, but it’s almost 11:30 am and is still closed, with no sign or any message explaining why. They need to be more serious about their work

Negative experience: Went there at about 3:30 when it claimed to be open until 5:00. A paper sign was outside saying “on break will be back soon.” I saw a employee who claimed “we’ll be open in 20-25 minutes” after waiting about 20 minutes while the store was meant to be open despite him closing it down to take a “break” during open hours, he refused to help me when I got inside. Very disappointing.
Negative experience: Just stopped by Game Stop and was told by the one employee there to come back in 20-30 minutes because he was on break. The store is supposed to be open from noon to 5:00 pm, but he said: “Sorry boss, I’m on break. Come back in 30 minutes.” Game Stop, you have lost my business forever.

Negative experience: I was in this store 10 minutes looking at games, not once was I offered help. Bad enough I didn’t get greeted, but for two employees to act like I wasn’t there. The black male employee came over to help a customer that was there before me, all he had to say was “ I’ll be back to help you after I finish with this customer “ but nope I got nothing. The white employee didn’t say anything either, not even as I walked out of the door. Definitely won’t be back EVER!!!

We are empowered to disrupt legacy thinking with innovation and agility, create powerful experiences for our customers, take risks and trust each other on the decisions we make" -Gamestop Core Value Statement They failed in customer service and showed lack of Integrity: l preordered a game from them and spoke to the manager (Malik) at the time and asked his advice about which game version I should get he said you should just get the regular game version without a season pass or the deluxe if I wasn't collecting the merchandise from the game franchise. I said ok perfect. Then that's what l will have. As we are about to preorder which requires you to put in exactly the type of game I am wanting, he then asked me to renew my membership because he had expired after my experience I felt great about doing more business with him so l did. A few days later the game is out and l am unable to be there to pay for the game and pick up the game on pre order day so l.called the store spoke to a young lady and asked if l could send my mom to the store to pay and pick up my game. She said as long as she had my Membership number aka my phone number that would not be a problem. This is where integrity was not shown: My mom is no gamer and definitely wouldnt know her way around a game store she had never been inside a Gamestop before 1/16/2020. She walks in and here comes Maliek the store manager to take advantage of my mother. She is supposed to go in simply by the game that I pre-ordered which cost about 59$ -10$= 49$. She comes out tacking on close to 100$ on the game franchise on that one visit. TOTALLY DISGRACEFUL!! My mom is 67 years old. I get home unaware that my mom had been taken advantage of by the store manager. She mentions the bag is in my room. I look at the receipt and see almost 100$ spent. On what was supposed to be 49$ How??? Maliek saw my mom didn't know anything about games to he asked her for a 3$ warranty then to purchase a season pass deluxe AFTER I TOLD HIM I JUST WANT THE REGULAR. ( His name is on the receipt and I remember him from out conversation). Another $30. And because of this they failed in making sure the customer has full and complete trust in business transactions. This type of store is built on customer relationships and customer service. I am upset because when I called to address this he hangs up on me bc l question him about his business ethics taking advantage of my mother in this way. If he had just said I am sorry that wasn't my intention come in and we will take care of you then I would not be spending my Saturday to write this and go to the store and correct his error. Another chance to demonstrate customer service failed again: l go to the store and tell him plainly he has betrayed my trust as a valued customer.. having spent 1000$s of dollars in that store over the years. He then proceeds to not even apologize for the mistake tells me he doesnt know who l am. I which tells me he doesn't value each and every customer who walks in that store. Or he is overworked.l could tell by the look in his eyes he knew who l was because I spoke to him for a good twenty- mins and the traffic in that location is minimal. He told me I was talking out the side of my neck and that he didn't care if l.cancelled my membership or not. I have never been treated so miserably by an employee at this franchise. I hope he uses this as a teachable moment. He shouldve recognized that my mom did not know what she was purchasing he had my number he could.have called.me.like he did the day before to tell me the time the pre orders would.be in. He saw an opportunity to make extra money but in the end he loses a customer bc of his lack of integrity. You can't pretend to value customers and act in this manner.
