Negative experience: I stopped by this GameStop location early Friday morning to check their inventory for Pokémon products, specifically Pokémon Ascended Heroes. When I asked the employee at the front counter, Frank, if any were available, he stated that what was in the display case was all they had. I then inquired about placing a pre-order and asked what the cost would be. He responded that he would not know the price unless the item was physically in the case to ring up. This was surprising, as I have visited this location multiple times and have seen pre-orders processed without the product being physically present. It seemed unusual that the price could not be looked up in the system. After finding what I needed, I requested a bag since I planned to visit other stores in the area. I was told there is a bag ban in Austin and that he could not provide one. However, I had received a bag at this same location just one week prior from a different employee. Additionally, I had shopped at other stores earlier that day and was given standard bags without any mention of a ban. The inconsistency was confusing and felt dismissive. Overall, the customer service experience was unwelcoming. The employee’s tone and demeanor came across as curt, and I overheard him telling customers on the phone that he was the only person working and too busy to assist fully. While I understand staffing challenges, professionalism and clear communication are still essential. I hope management reviews this feedback and addresses these concerns, as consistency and customer service significantly impact the overall experience.

Negative experience: The gentleman with the long beard Caucasian man, was pretty rude and short when my card happened to malfunction I told him to proceed with the folks behind me but buddy just demanded I guy try to swipe again. However I was curios about a game they had in stock instead of looking and search via his computer he said they didn’t have it after a 20 mins search in the store I found the game but decided not to purchase due to the poor customer service I was receiving.

Negative experience: I have come to this location about two or three times to do a trade-in and their trade-in machine tends to be broken. I don’t have a car and I have to Lyft over there. I have called multiple times to try to get somebody on the phone to make sure their machine works, but no one picks up the phone. I’m starting to get really upset with this location.

Negative experience: Me and my friends were wandering around the arboretum at like 9:15pm dressed pretty fancy(suits and nice dresses) because we had just had a school dance nearby and were planing on getting dinner at the Cheesecake Factory right next door. And we walked past the GameStop and all the lights were on and there was an employee towards the back of the store so we try to go in, just to look around and maybe kill some time before our reservation but the door was locked so we walk around a bit more and when it’s time to go get our table we have to walk back by the GameStop. As we are walking by the employee, who was still towards the back of the store, flips me and my friends off as he is shaking his head and laughing. Mind you it’s not like we were trying to get into trouble so we ignore him and walk away. But I am utterly disgusted by the disrespect he displayed and I know that my friends and I will most definitely not be shopping at this location ever again.

Fantastic experience: My husband bought a PS4 from a different location & it was corrupted so we came to this store. We went home with the replacement from this store & it didn't work, we called them & let them know & they were so nice & helpful. He told us no problem bring it back & I'll swap it out, the guy that helped us was extremely helpful & had great customer service! He even told us if this one doesn't work he would go through the entire stock until he found one that did. I highly recommend coming to this game stop, they also have a very good selection of games. We will not go to another one anymore.

Positive experience: Went inside looking for a Funko pop yesterday, employees relatively helpful. Got my Funko from the back way after 10 minutes of searching, might be nice to have some signs for organization depending on the show. Otherwise checkout was great and was able to find what I needed.

Negative experience: The employee Frank at this store is absolutely grotesque to “pokemon people” via his words. When I asked for the pokemon box he asked me what I had gotten before? Essentially accusing me of double dipping. I didn’t even know what boxes were being sold. I had not been there before and made me regret waking up for Black Friday for the first time in my life, I was so excited, and he made sure to wipe the smile off of my face really quick. Said he wants to blow his brains out after having to deal with pokemon people all day. Well guess what Frank. I have worked at GameStop and never have I ever talked to people the way you have or openly shown such disdain. I’ve worked the releases and for me I was excited for people. You should work somewhere that brings you joy.

Fantastic experience: I came in with list of around 4 games I was looking to buy. Asked the guys at the front desk for help and they did the absolute best job checking and double checking. Some of the games they didn't have on hand but they provided me with a list of other locations that did have them in stock which was very helpful. Both guys were kind and patient and also gave me some other game recommendations to check out in the future. Thank y'all again!

Negative experience: No greeting when entering or asked if I needed help. The games I was looking for on the shelf for 20 minutes were apparently behind the counter. If I hadn't asked I would of never had the chance to buy them. So when I did decide to buy some of the games the young male began to check me out. I said I have about $9 dollars in quarters or an older $100 dollar bill. Which would he prefer? He rolled his eyes and said really neither. We don't have room for quarters.. What well I'm sure you can find room. Not like I was trying to give him a can of pennies. So I decided to not purchase all the items I was going to because my usda cash was not acceptable to the kid. Just a bad, rude, and unhelpful experience all around. Do better Gamestop. Never have understood the arrogance of the Gamestop employee. Why cause you sell video games you are above everyone?

Positive experience: A shell of what it used to be. A surprising lack of used games on the wall compared to what I remember being there. On top of that the connecting corridor to Barnes and Noble seems to be permanently closed. Employee was kind and friendly though.

Fantastic experience: Bought a defective headset at this location (right before their change in return policy), other locations near home sent me away without taking it back or even trying to help. This location was extremely understanding and willing to work with my situation. They were able to take back the headset and exchange it for me. Staff and management are very friendly and professional. Will definitely be making the extra drive to shop at this location!

Fantastic experience: This is the best video game shop in the area. Sarah is fantastic and super helpful. I was in a few weeks ago, and she asked me if any games were coming out I was interested in playing. I'm newer to this, thanks pandemic for the new hobby, so I had no idea. I checked out, she told me about a number of them, and I came back today to preorder Elden Ring on her recommendation. The shop is clean and well-stocked, plus they are keeping everyone safe by masking up and having headcount limits. 1000000/5

Fantastic experience: Crisp, clean, didn’t smell funny. One guy was off the clock I heard over conversation, but was still helping with a couple small tasks with customers. Negative experience: Tricolored hair Karen is super lazy. I came in on pro days, a day advertised to make you spend money. She had a line of 0 and was super not helpful. They unfortunately had none of the games I came in for (death stranding and Nioh 2) and was unwillingly to help find them (they can see stock at other stores). She wouldn’t call the sister store to verify or help, which would be fine if there was a line or a crowd but there wasn’t, she was just lazy.

Negative experience: I know retail is different these days, but if you are going to only allow 10 people in the store at a time please put someone on the door. I waited in my spot to come in the summer heat three people came in the store right in front of me. The employee did not ask them to leave but after my 2nd attempt to enter after 3 people walked out they told me to wait outside again. COVID changes many things, but if you are going to maintain a different standard for occupancy please have a plan, communicate the plan clearly, and maintain order. You just cost yourself a 500 dollar sale today. Thanks.

Negative experience: I was sent an email that the store was closed so I couldn't pick up my preorder. Come to find out they sold my preorder with out telling me that I could come and pick it up. You have lost a supporter. I will not purchase a thing from GameStop again.

Negative experience: I went with my partner to pick up a pre-order Animal Crossing console and found out they didn't have any left. Apparently this store didn't receive enough to complete their pre-orders. I might be wrong but that kind of defeats the purpose of a limited number of pre-orders. The employee was kind enough to look up inventory and call another store to see if we could grab one of their extras showing up, but their copies were on hold for pre-order pickup... "But at least you got fifty dollars?" No, that's fifty dollars plus tax that your store borrowed without interest. My partner might be back for future releases, but I know I'm personally not putting money into this location anymore.

Negative experience: The staff at this location was nice but unfortunately I had several issues. They were unable to locate my PS model in their system so I was unable to trade it in at that location despite the website saying I could. Additionally among the several preowned games I purchased one was slightly scratched and covered in a sticky material. Unfortunately I did not play the game right away and did not notice this issue until it was to late to return the game. Despite extensive cleaning the disk struggles to eject and will constantly freeze rendering it unplayable. I am very disappointed that the company didnt do a better job at checking and cleaning their preowned games.

Negative experience: After speaking to an employee from this location, I will NEVER go here. I called this location because I am a new hire and I was just curious as to how much the employee discount is to purchase a console. As soon as the lady answered the phone she was very unprofessional and she completely assumed that I was a child and informed me that she will continue to call back until she know that it is not a prank. I called her back once again and she was very rude informing that she have caller ID for the phone I pay for. I would never treat a customer like this, that is the lack of integrity and customer service and if I could report this to someone higher I would it really puts a bad name on the company.

Negative experience: All GameStop locations seem to have extremely poor customer service. Even though this is a larger store and connected to Barnes & Noble, the service is still terrible. One employee in the entire store, trying to slowly help about 8 customers. I sold a used console and was assured they would wipe it before resale. Lesson learned. A couple weeks later someone spent several hundred dollars through my Xbox account using the console I had sold. The store managers was like “Huh, wow sorry to hear that.” So yes, from now on I will do a complete system wipe before selling consoles as opposed to the faster, limited wipe option. And I won’t go to GameStop.

Negative experience: By far the worst experience I have had at this location. I had questions about exchanging a defective title that was purchased less than 4 days ago during their buy 2 get 1 free promo. The associate was new to the store and was unsure of what to do, so he spoke to his manager. The manager was talking on her cell phone while walking through the store, and would not look up long enough to try and answer his question. Instead of trying to assist the customer for possibly 5 minutes, she informed the new hire to have me go to a different location to see if they had the title in stock. Needless to say, I won't be shopping at this location ever again.
