Experiencia fantástica: Easily one of the best GameStop experiences I’ve had. Jayden and Greg are awesome. They worked with me on a refund and made it completely painless. No back and forth, no weird friction. Just genuine help and a clear focus on making sure I walked out happy. Every time I’ve gone into this Lake Forest location, they’ve made it feel welcoming. These guys actually know games and give real recommendations on what to play next. It never feels scripted or salesy. Just honest conversations with people who clearly care about what they do. It really sucks that this location is closing because Jayden and Greg are exactly the kind of people that make going into a store worth it. They’re knowledgeable, friendly, and just good dudes. The type of guys you could easily grab a beer with and talk games for hours. Huge shoutout to both of them. Wherever they end up next is lucky to have them. If you’re nearby before this store closes, definitely stop in.

Experiencia fantástica: I went in on a Saturday with the intent of getting a few items for the kiddo and maybe picking up a Backbone. Greg and Lydia GREETED US when we walked in. Legitimately acknowledged our presence and asked how they could help. That seems so rare these days at any store. Store was clean, well organized, didn’t have empty boxes on the floor. Kiddo got some great stuff and they talked me into a Raptor 8 controller which is cheaper and dare I say BETTER than the Backbone. I’m glad I asked and they were both very knowledgeable about the product. Even opened up the box to let me look at it before committing to a purchase. Greg and Lydia also treated my kiddo like a person. Very polite. This is “my” new GameStop going forward.

Experiencia negativa: DONT GO HERE, Just took my family in here. Asked if they had switch two in stock, the employee GREG said no they are sold out, Then the people that came in after me came in and asked the same thing, then he gets one out of the back for them, (no they didn’t have it pre purchased or reserved) I also asked if they had pokemon cards, he said no, then I found some. lol To top it off, when I went to check out, he acted like my money was fake even tho it passed it little scan test, This guy needs to be fired. What a joke.
Experiencia negativa: Just witnessed a crash out over Pokémon cards because the shop manager gave out vouchers the night before a release; was kind of insane and sad knowing GameStop hadn’t stuck with their policy regarding product release dates and preordering.

Experiencia negativa: When it’s 8:43 pm on Saturday night and you want to take a moment to grab something, never come here. Lady had the door locked and their fence/gate already down. She just ignored me. Maybe this is tradition for GS employees but closing 15-20 minutes early to do slow “restocking” is GS begging me to steer clear of them.

Experiencia negativa: I came to this gamestop location seeking assistance and was refused service because the employee didn't want to to go pass 9pm as he doesn't get pay for it. Mind you what I needed to do would take less than 5 mins and he still refused and told me the system would shut off at 9 pm and I need to come back.
Experiencia negativa: Guy behind the counter literally threw a fit when I had a trade in and informed me how much he hates doing trades. So sorry to give you business in a store that is slowly dying. Don’t worry, I won’t be back to bother you again.

Experiencia fantástica: I’ve been to this GameStop a couple years ago and had the same great experience as the time prior. The lady was super informative, very polite, and extremely customer driven. It’s always a treat to see what things they have stocked and see if I can find any hidden gems.
Experiencia negativa: Extremely poor customer service. Excitement of a pre order turned to major frustration due to a flaw in THEIR system. I ordered for home delivery a game, paid for it in full at 8am and by 4pm never got the game. I drove TO the store after being told by an employee that I could just pick the order up, only to be turned away by the manager stating that "He cannot release the game to me or it will be shown as missing" . I was told I have to wait for Door Dash to pick up my order from them and deliver it to my house. I find it a bit ridiculous that if I paid for something in full, and I am AT YOUR STORE, that it is out of the store manager's control to give me merchandise I have already paid for. Ridiculous and asinine policy , and the manager could have cared less to help solve the issue.

Experiencia negativa: I am absolutely astonished by how one location can ruin my order and my day so easily. I had a preorder for Fire Emblem Engage Divine Edition at another location further south. I moved up to McKinney, so I went to this local GameStop to transfer my preorder of the copy. It went pretty smoothly (so I thought), and I patiently waited for the release date of the game. Fast forward to January 20th. The game is out, I'm looking forward to it all day while I'm at work. I leave as soon as I can to go pick up my copy. I get to the store only to realize... they transferred over a normal edition of the game. The stores only get as many copies of the special Divine Edition as are ordered and available until sold out, typically sold out well before the release of the game. They had no extra copies of the Divine Edition that I was expecting to get and the employee who transferred my order failed to inform me they downgraded my transfer copy to a normal physical version of the game. I was beyond livid. Maybe my anger was elevated due to some unfortunately tragic life events that have happened recently, or perhaps even by the long day at work that wore me out completely. Regardless, I was completely disappointed and furious. The fact that an employee/location can drop the ball so hard for something like this really blows my mind. The location gets one bonus star due to the manager and current employee at the time of attempting to pick up my copy trying to do everything they could to help me out. The employee gave me an extra discount on a physical copy of the game and ensured that if an extra copy of the Divine Edition pops up somehow, I would be first in line and I would get a phone call ASAP. Great help from those two individuals on January 20th, but the fact that this was a problem in the first place keeps me from going any higher. I would avoid this location or even GameStop in general. Go somewhere else. If by some miracle my issue gets resolved, I will gladly up the rating to compensate.

Experiencia fantástica: I was shopping for a PS5 for my son since he’s been asking for 1 and it’s been 2 years since it released. I went to the store and I was kindly greeted by the store staff, and I called earlier to ask if they had a PS5 in stock (Yes) and what deals they have. This GameStop had a Plain Disk Addition but the staff said “It’s our policy to add an extra controller” (2 controllers) and I was fine with that because I wanted to try playing on the PS5 so I got it and it was $590 with tax and with an extra controller. The store staff was nice enough to give a discount for the extra controller since it wasn’t what they wanted to make the policy to add an extra controller it was the manager or someone. I was satisfied with my purchase and will come here again.

Experiencia positiva: After being told the item I needed was in stock, with a quantity of 3, I arrived (4 minutes later) and item wasn’t in stock at all. Every employee had different opinions on when/if it would be in stock, much less when. This is the second time I’ve had similar issues, at this location. I’d suggest driving a little further to the next Game Stop.

Experiencia positiva: i walked to this store on lake forest dr. not knowing how friendly Greg was going to be. as soon as i walked in he greeted me and assured me that he will help me as soon as he finishes with the customer before me. i thought that was very customer service friendly. when Greg was ready for me. he continued to be so friendly and most important part is his customer service. i bought 2 used games. one didn't have the cover for the cd. he made sure i was satisfied before my transaction is complete. if you want excellent customer service speak with Greg. you will not be disappointed.

Experiencia negativa: I’m sorry but some of the guys running this place are not very knowledgeable or very bright. Whenever I ask questions they rarely will answer the actual question or will give a completely incorrect answer and this has led me to make decisions that were not ones I would have made with accurate information. For example, I asked if they were going to do a midnight release for a game and they said no so I picked it up the day of release. Turns out the release was actually at 9:00pm and the clerk didn’t clarify that, just said no midnight release. This was just one of many times that they were incapable of giving a correct or clarifying answer.

I was a pro member for 11 years, and the last 3 times I have gone to get a game, either they didn't have it or wouldn't sell it because they didn't have enough copies for non preorders, even AFTER it was released. I cancelled my membership, and will never go back to Gamestop. Just download from the internet, way easier and you dont have to support trash like Gamestop
