Negative experience: Waited 10 mins outside for him to open just for him to to be rude and tell me to go to best buy

zayo mayo Posted on Google 1 month ago

Negative experience: Guy said "pokemon system was down" when I came in to send in my cards for grading to PSA, which were already in card savers and ready to go. I asked how and he said the tablet died 10 min ago to do it on, lol. So you guys can't charge tablets now? I've done the grading here before and he did it on the computer too so it's just flat out laziness. This location is a joke the one guy that's always there is rude and locks up the store for no reason when it says open.

Christian Trinh Posted on Google 1 month ago

Negative experience: Guy couldn't sell me a Switch 2 cuz they dont have any. Typical Pittsburgher behavior, always being inconvenient and now I have to drive all the way to another Gamestop that has actually them.

Brandon McCarron Posted on Google 2 months ago

Negative experience: Have tried to come to this location 2x now since the one in Robinson closed at the start of 2026. Both times the gate is just straight up down. Middle of the day. How do you close the Robinson location and keep this one open when it's apparently never even open. I don't know if this store is getting ready to permanently close but it seems like it

Jake Suleski Posted on Google 3 months ago

Negative experience: Store manager smelled like body Oder and cigarette smoke also tried to get me to trade all my controllers before telling me he had none in stock

En Posted on Google 3 months ago

Negative experience: This is gonna be the next gamestop to close if they keep hiring employees that have stiff attitudes.

jeremy Posted on Google 3 months ago

Negative experience: never open?? every single time i've been down to this location, the gate has been down during their operating hours with a bunch of signs on the door. lights on & sometimes you can see someone in there.. obviously this has been an ongoing issue for months considering the other reviews.

V S Posted on Google 4 months ago

Negative experience: We went to this gamestop 25min before they closed, and they had the gate closed. The employee clearly not wanting to work, advised they are "not open for browsing". Never in my life have I heard something so bizarre. Corporate needs to check on what's going on in this location.

Jim L Posted on Google 4 months ago

Negative experience: Worst customer service I’ve ever had. They should just close the location.

John Smith Posted on Google 4 months ago

Negative experience: Store is open, but the door is always locked and you cant see anybody inside. If you try and open the door a worker will appear in about 4 minutes and let 1 person in. This employee is clearly hiding in the back occupied playing games or something, its super bizarre. I have never had problems with this GameStop before, until this guy started locking the door and hiding in the back. The store also has a super weird smell inside. This is the only GameStop I've ever had problems with.

IBTylerB Posted on Google 5 months ago

Negative experience: Came out to this store from Oakmont only to arrive and see notices on the door saying “Pick-Up only, call a store associate for help” Called the line and no one answered.

Steven Shannon Posted on Google 5 months ago

Negative experience: They refuse to sell you a game if you don't pre order. Went online to look and Siad i can order it and pick it up in at that store that day. I will never go to gamestop again

Dan Williams Posted on Google 6 months ago

Negative experience: Was sold a large pokemon card box for $200 and asked what MSRP retail price was since that seemed high. I was assured that the price was always $200 and never changed, so I bought it. Afterwards found out that MSRP was $120 and the secondary market price was $175 at the time. So I was both upsold a scalped price and then lied to about it when questioned while being pushed to buy their membership constantly for a “discount”. Never shop here.

Nate Locklin Posted on Google 6 months ago

Negative experience: Often closed due to plumbing or mold issues.

Chocobo Chica Posted on Google 7 months ago

Negative experience: Long time buyer of physical games, have had a Pro card for 9 years. Never shopping here again, this store is awful. Didnt get a steelbook for Silent Hill f, and walked in today for a new game, and they had none in stock. What is the point of being a specialty retailer if you dont carry the product you specialize in? Got lots of Pokemon cards though, cool cool cool. I'll buy my games elsewhere

Calon Rennick Posted on Google 7 months ago

Negative experience: Called in to ask about a product and they quoted me at $60. Drove 45 minutes to the store and they’re trying to charge me $200. Dude wouldn’t even negotiate price at all for our troubles. Then told us we could leave a bad review if we’d like.

RandomGaming Posted on Google 8 months ago

Negative experience: DO NOT SHOP HERE If you’re black don’t shop here. The people currently working and managing this store are racist. On multiple occasions either me or my sister have walked into this store, not been greeted or acknowledged but when a white person walked in they’d tend to them immediately. A black friend of mine also planned on buying an accessory for his PS5 but everytime he’d come in they’d take it off the shelf and say it’s out of stock, with one employee even buying then later returning the item solely so that the person couldn’t get it. Also the store has black mold, and they’ve apparently told black people the store is closed in the middle of the day while not even 60 seconds later offering to shop for a white person.

Fantastic experience: This is the only GameStop I will shop at. The staff is friendly, helpful and informed. Pay no mind to the bad reviews for this store, if you read them you'll see they don't seem to understand how basic store policy works. The store is always clean and well organized, I have made great trades and purchases for years here, and wouldn't want to go anywhere else.

Thea Posted on Google 11 months ago

Fantastic experience: Late review, but I was soooo happy to successfully pre-ordered and received my Suikoden I & II HD Remaster game last March! The staff was very helpful assisting us with it, and it was a smooth transaction the time we picked up the game. It was worth the wait for one of my favorite childhood games! This store has a lot of video games, to which some are in decent prices, collectible items, and more. I wish the Game Stop at Mt. Nebo is still open, though. PLEASE DON'T EVER CLOSE!

Damien Chase Posted on Google 1 year ago

Fantastic experience: The workers here are awesome despite all the aggressive and rude pokemon customers. Keep up the great work guys! I love shopping here!

Autumn Wamsley Posted on Google 1 year ago

Negative experience: always shifty stuff going on at this location with pokemon cards. swear staff here hold pokemon cards for themselves. my partner got there at 10am when he just opened the gates, asked him if they were getting them in stock today he says no, then when i stop by 2 hours later he says he sold out of all of them at 9am. bruh you opened at 10 and told me my partner you didn’t get them in today?

Kenny Pullwn (Skinny) Posted on Google 1 year ago

Negative experience: No Pokémon cards...

Ben S Posted on Google 1 year ago

Fantastic experience: Went today to buy an Xbox X Controller and only 1 employee on duty (Devin). I overheard him mention 2 others called off today. He had a difficult return to manage and a long line of customers forming. He quickly started to ring people up on a 2nd register while trying to find a solution for the return. While he could not meet the requests of the person requesting a return, he was very helpful & polite while rapidly getting through the lines of direct purchases. In each of the transactions, he took a direct interest in their purchase making specific recommendations (not just sale pitches) to what would benefit them AND why it would benefit them. Devin, I apologize if I am misspelling your name, there are a lot of variations on the comments below and no shortage of once singing your praise. This reinforces this as your status-quo and I hope your senior mgmt. takes notice. Great job sir.

Fantastic experience: My daughter has a Nintendo switch, and had an incident where she dropped it, went in for some advice and three gentleman were quick and very kind to assist and recommended a few items that could help protect it and different carrying cases to hold it while out and about! My daughter also is autistic and the way they took her feelings into consideration was above and beyond! Will definitely be going back there for their help!

Fantastic experience: Everyone is so helpful and friendly, glad to give this place business. Dominic was extra helpful.

Fantastic experience: The one manager who's always there is the only reason I still shop at GameStop. He's the nicest person ever and knows what he's talking about about. I should know his name by now but I'm terrible and don't. I purposely come to your store just because he's such a peach. Anyway give that guy a raise! I'm assuming it's Devon bc that's who everyone else is raving about. It's gotta be Devon

J Posted on Google 1 year ago

Negative experience: Don’t bother buying games from them, preordered a game that came a week after release date. Tried to return in store they told me I had to do it through customer service. Called customer service they told me I could bring it in. Came back, told me I had to call customer service again, customer service told me I was past the 15 day window which I was unaware of. As a pro member I won’t be renewing my membership or buying games from them again. No wonder they’re struggling. Terrible customer service, I’d recommend any other store with a reasonable return policy for unopened items.

Jesse Croyle Posted on Google 2 years ago

Fantastic experience: Deven. This dude changed the fact game stop is lacking something. His brilliant customer service is what can save that company. Clone more Devens. Ill never shop at another game stop.

Dave Jedlicka Posted on Google 2 years ago

Negative experience: Call ahead before ordering. The store will list items as available on the website and then will cancel your order. Target, Bestbuy, and the Exchange are only a few feet from this location. Check those stores first.

Zachary Schwirian Posted on Google 2 years ago

Fantastic experience: Came in with several question about ps5 controllers trace was amazing answered all my questions and took time with me. Highly impressed this will be the only game stop I go too for now on. Highly recommended

Patricia Andros Posted on Google 2 years ago

Fantastic experience: Excellent sales person

Matthew Boselovic Posted on Google 2 years ago

Negative experience: Leave the store with an employee in charge who can't even complete simple product exchanges. No wonder the company is on the brink of bankruptcy.

Mike Schultz Posted on Google 2 years ago

Negative experience: I went into this store, in the north Hills of Pittsburgh today with my 7 year old son, and I was attempting to return a PS five controller. I did not know that the policy was no returns if the box was open. The store I purchased this controller from sold used or opened box controllers for $15 less. So I was at least assuming I could do that. I simply said to the manager, Devon, this policy is not fair, you are the only business around that will not take a return on a new item if the box is open. And I also said it doesn’t make me want to spend any money here because of that policy. As I walked away, the manager, Devon said to me,” Then, take your money elsewhere, we don’t want your business” So I turned around to get his name, and he wrote everything down for me, and said to me, I was the one being rude, I started it. In that moment, I felt like I was speaking to a really immature person. Needless to say, my next $500 game control purchase will not come from GameStop. I would recommend anyone reading this to shop elsewhere.

Fantastic experience: Let me just start by saying the guy with the long hair (Devin) was amazing. He was great. I brought in a system for trade in and i was in n out super fast. Talked me thru everything he was doing n y he was doing it. Super friendly n polite. I'd recommend any1 to come n here n deal with this guy. Thanks again

Andre Muldrow Posted on Google 2 years ago

Negative experience: So I went to this store to trade an item in. Was greeted by this strange guy with long hair and an attitude. I’m like hi I’m looking to trade this item in and he was like oh what are you buying. At this moment I realized he wasn’t to smart then he started cursing because he lost has scanner. Proceeded to check my items like a tsa agent checking for a bomb. Then he took my great condition controller and checked it like a monkey would. This guy was so annoying and rude in professional and really needs to get out of customer service. Tried to offer me 30 bucks lol I left. Will never shop there again. The kid with the purple jacket was cool tho.

Fantastic experience: Deven's the man. 10/10 in all categories (and to name a few) customer service, knowledge, friendliness, salesmanship. Definitely making that my go to

Positive experience: Small and overpriced but that's just GameStop..

Lei Bowman Posted on Google 2 years ago

Fantastic experience: Always helpful, even the people who pick up calls to answer questions are helpful. They aren't always well staffed but the staff they have get me what I need in a quick and efficient manner.

John Koho Posted on Google 3 years ago

Negative experience: I came in to buy a console, and there were 3 employees behind the counter completely ignoring me just talking about what they are gonna do Friday. When I'm finally fed up and left, the dude that seemed like the supervisor of them mockingly told me have fun bud when I left... This makes it 2 straight trips I had unprofessional service at this store, 2 straight times I had to walk out without what I came for, and this will 100% be the last time I go to gamestop.

Seth Zipay Posted on Google 3 years ago

Fantastic experience: Engaging, friendly, and knowledgeable staff at this location. I hate that so many stores are closing but its a pleasure to shop at this one.

Jim Langdon Posted on Google 3 years ago

Negative experience: I honestly don't know what happened or who's getting hired here, but I can tell you that they have zero video game knowledge and could care less if you buy from them or not. Atleast have some current event knowledge in the gaming industry and some past experience with gaming. I bet the person who (I can't say helped me,) was behind the counter probably doesn't have a console or PC and plays candy crush. God help us all if this is what customer service is going to remain as for the future. ✌️

Armin Ikonic Posted on Google 3 years ago

Negative experience: I tried trading in a iphone 12 pro 128gb unlocked at the atore, because online its showing 460 visa card value for a excellent condition. When they test it, it returns everything good, phone doesnt have a single scratch, however they offer 360$. When i tell them the website says to bring it in the store for 460, they say the website is lying, no one updates it, and its inaccurate....... Really bad experience. No wonder they almost bankrupted, theyll get back to it Plus the bich had an attite and tossed my phone around.

Fantastic experience: This store rocks!! Always clean and organized so well. The best thing about it is the top notch customer service. Not only are they fully knowledgeable with everything you can imagine, but ALWAYS go above and beyond to help with our needs. Super friendly and welcoming even around the crazy holiday season.

Negative experience: I've been to better locations. Small place. Staff sucks. It's just games, I guess.

dan hollenberger Posted on Google 4 years ago

Negative experience: They sold my wife an Empty case and when I went in store to have it corrected they said they couldn't help me. Mistakes happen and I respect that, but if they don't correct it, it's just theft. Avoid this place.

Positive experience: Helpful, friendly and knowledgeable staff

Shane Liptak Posted on Google 4 years ago

Negative experience: Price gouging. They’re trying to charge $65 for a used PS4 controller that cost $64.99 new.

Business Nonyo Posted on Google 4 years ago

Negative experience: Purchased an OLED switch from this store. About a week later discovered that it was missing the sliders that go on top of the controllers. Called the store and "the manager" told me that there is nothing they can do. Couldn't even offer a phone number or anything, simply wash their hands of the situation and now I'm left on my own. I'd recommend buying elsewhere as other companies may provide customer assistance rather than leaving customers out to dry.

Chris Mastramico Posted on Google 4 years ago

Positive experience: The dude who helped me out was very knowledgeable about video games. Something you may expect from an employee at a video game store, but not something that can be taken for granted.

Fantastic experience: This store (North Hills Village) has a better selection of action figures, which most of the other Game Stops don't have anymore. They also offered to order me a figure, when most other stores tell you that you have to pre order because they don't get them in stock or can order them.

Maxine Erdman Posted on Google 5 years ago

Fantastic experience: It's been a long time since I've stepped foot in a GameStop. I had grown tired and weary of their outdated model, bad rewards program, and subpar customer service. I'm very happy to say though that in 2021, GameStop has changed for the better. The store itself was very clean and modern looking, and despite the tiny storefront it had a nice selection of video games and other products. They had an entire wall section of PC products from Razer and each of the current gen consoles had a dedicated hardware section. The Funko Pop section was massive, and they had some cool merch as well as some basic Dungeons and Dragons supplies. My favorite part is the Gashapon machine, which looks like a space age toy dispenser! The customer service was excellent. The employee was very helpful and friendly, but not overbearing. When it was time to check out, he made sure to properly update our contact information. Our last name is a little weird, but he didn't get frustrated at all with us and was cheerful through the entire interaction. He also told us about how the rewards program has changed since we last had it. For just $15/year, you get a whole lot more than their old program so we absolutely said yes! I am so thrilled with our experience! We walked in not really intending on buying anything, but we left with a little haul that made us feel good. I absolutely would recommend going to GameStop as a whole again, and this particular store especially!

Negative experience: DONT BUY USED EQUIPMENT. I recently purchased a controller from the gamestop on Mcknight road. There is nothing to be said about the service other then the fact that they spent 30 minutes helping test someones console when all I wanted to do was purchase something. I do realize though it may have seemed rude if they stopped helping them to help me. I finally got my controller and asked about the return policy as I know when buying used stuff you have to be careful. It was only 30 days and unfortunately at this point that time has passed it's probably been about 2 months. The reason I am leaving a 1 star review however is because upon taking apart the controller because it didnt work properly I took out and replaced the micro usb from one of my other controllers which r3 button doesnt fully move forward. Upon comparing the two controllers it was clear that the micro usb that came from the used controller was fried. It had white debris all around the inside of the port and was clearly not properly functioning. This should be the first thing that they notice if they are examining a controller to be determined if they can resell it for 45$. I got scammed and hopefully my review will be enough to deter you from falling into the same trap I did. All the best, A dissatisfied long-time gamestop customer, who's officially switched over to online shopping.

Sold me a game that ended up not working and refused to give me the money back or exchange the disk because I misplaced a receipt at Christmas. Even bought the protection plan, worthless.
