Fantastic experience: Genuinely the greatest game store I've ever been to, I would drive back to Seattle again just to go buy something here. Prices are extremely reasonable and the new owners are super knowledgeable. I bought a sega saturn and a couple games from them and one of the games didnt work so I went back before my trip was over and they upgraded me to an even better game FOR FREE! If you are in the area I highly recommend stopping by.

Fantastic experience: I went to Game Gurus a while back in end of July 2024 but I forgot to add pictures while I was there for the review. I did add a 5 star review a while ago but there wasn’t any pictures. Since I revisited Games Gurus again, I decided to edit the review with pictures. So anyways, I stopped by at Game Gurus again and bought myself an authentic GBA Pokémon Ruby and it’s a fair price. The owner is great and kind to hold it for me while on the phone call before I arrived there. Not only I bought Ruby, I even bought a Switch case, Joy con charger controller with charging cable, Minecraft PS Vita game, and a 3DS game. The case is a great size as you may see the pictures that I posted below and other pictures that you’ll see as well. Again the game store is great to check out and the game store owner is a really great guy. If you like to travel to game stores just like me, I recommend checking out Game Gurus. I will definitely go back again when I’m nearby at Game Gurus. Update on 9/7/2025: I added more pictures for you guys that will catch your interest. 2nd update on 1/6/2026: When I visited Game Gurus again around December 2025, I just found out that the owner of Game Gurus named Maitreya is no longer with us. He passed away somewhere around September 2025. I was looking for Maitreya. I asked the wife and she told me about it. I was in shock to hear the sudden news. The wife is now taking over Game Gurus along with another female and male. I will continue on supporting the business whenever they have what I like and I’ll definitely stop by. I’ve known Maitreya back in July 2024 the time when I started getting into gaming again. Him and I had great moments when we talk in the store each time I visited whenever I buy/trade. I’ll never forget Maitreya, he was a great guy and may he rest in peace. Whenever I’m at Game Gurus again, I’ll make sure to update more images whenever for any customers that are planning on visiting.

Fantastic experience: Dude has eye patch! Favorite scene in Star Wars in Mos Eisly spaceport so the unsavory people seen in parking and surrounding areas add to the ambiance. He now has CCG’s!

Fantastic experience: The gentleman working there was very nice, I sold all my games and he gave me a good decent price for $200. Then he gave me Gave me console for a discount then I found out it wasn’t working so he replaced it for another one for me and gave me a store credit. I would recommend coming here for buying your games and selling. They are good people.

The owner is super friendly and knowledgeable, and all the other patrons are kind and curious about what you are looking for, and eager to share their expertise. Every time I open the door I don’t worry about the people inside. This place will help you find that one game you are looking for while making you feel welcomed. Negative experience: Good selection but be careful about what you sell to them. Was given 30$ for a game that I was assured was the correct price just to see the same item in the display case for 140$. . Lessons learned, always come in with receipts

Such a great system for someone like me who loves to play on a budget but is always losing my loose games I will definitely be back

Fantastic experience: We had such an amazing experience at this place. You can tell the guy behind the counter knows his stuff. He was super friendly and helpful about the items we wanted/needed. We got a PS2, games, and a couple of accessories for it. There was a bit of a hiccup with the PS2 power supply that we bought, but the guy was more than happy to replace the power adapter. We were told that he double checks the hardware that he gets in, which I don’t doubt! It was just a happenstance that we got a faulty power cord. Thank you!!

Fantastic experience: Very friendly staff and a great selection of old school games! Definitely check it out if you like collecting physical copies. Had a solid collection of consoles and peripherals as well such as guitar hero/rock band controllers. Found an old long box PS1 game that I used to play as a kid and picked it up at a very fair price for the condition! Friend also came with me and found a game he had been looking for on the DS.

Fantastic experience: This is an awesome shop! Stopped by to pick up a beautiful metallic blue DSi, and had fun chatting with Maitreya, who was really knowledgeable about consoles, games, and repair questions. Great game and console selection, fair prices, and they even have some repair related items for handhelds. Seeing the old console demo kiosks they have really transported me back to the 2000s

Fantastic experience: My last review was 7 years ago—time for an update. I’m amazed they have managed to stay in business now that physical games are becoming a thing for collectors. But fortunately gamers are realizing the value of playing retro games on retro consoles instead of just ditching old for new and demanding backplay capability. As you would expect from a fun job with low pay employee turnover is high, but I always had extremely knowledgeable help with my sometimes esoteric questions about both games and hardware. I’ve had no problems with returning the occasional faulty games (it happens with used games.) Nor any problems returning games I (oops) already have at home.

Fantastic experience: Drove all the way here from Puyallup and was greeted by Maitreya. He was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. The store has a great assortment of all game play styles old and new. Thank you for a great visit and fun new items to add to our collection!

Negative experience: I was sold a game that wasn’t even in english. When I talked to the clerk about if I could return it he just dismissed me saying it wasn’t possible that they’d sell a PAL region game. Take your business elsewhere. Every other store in town is better. Scammy business practices with the cover reprints at CIB prices too.

Fantastic experience: Came in looking for Nintendo 64 games, haven’t done that since I was a kid so that was cool, I liked the small shop vibe, the guy behind the counter, don’t think I got his name was very helpful and I walked out with a few used games at a decent price.

Positive experience: Knowledgeable clerk, had an eyepatch. I think his name was Spencer. Willing to help me clean my disk and provided good banter. Place could've been a little cleaner, though.

Negative experience: Meh… wish I could give this place a better rating but it’s just not happening. Selection of games in stock is ok, hours are absurdly limited. I showed up when it said it’d be open and they had alternative hours posted on the door. I waited an hour for it to be open, an employee in training was there and the guy who actually knew what was going on showed up like 5 minutes after the opening time. Paid $140 for 4 games (two for 3ds and two for switch), didn’t think that was so bad. Mario kart 7 was $36, I’m like ok inflation yeah yeah I’m supporting a small business. Couple days later I stop at pink gorilla in the ID and they had mk7 for $18. Not worth rearranging your schedule to shop at game gurus, sorry :(

Fantastic experience: Great place great prices for great games

Negative experience: I absolutely do not recommend this game store for getting your saved batteries replaced. As I recently got my copy of Pokémon Emerald's Battery "replaced" by the Game Gurus. When they were replacing the battery they end up switching the positive and negative around and left really poor solder job. I would recommend either doing it yourself or going to Another Castle if they hire another repair technician again.

Positive experience: I liked it but didn't realize you don't keep the Sega Genesis boxes. Probably a sign right in front of my face and I missed it. I enjoyed it though and lots there

Negative experience: As a collector with multiple thousands of games, I go to lot of retro game stores around the world. But as a native to Seattle, I've been to them all around here. This is a terrible game store. They've knowingly sold counterfeit games in the past, have poor quality control overall, and do not make the hobby accessible to people who are not already entrenched.

Fantastic experience: First of all this place is just really cool. They've got games for almost every console plus accessories. Can't wait to go back.

Negative experience: All there game is price right at eBay prices. Won’t be going back there. No wonder they have so much in inventory.

Fantastic experience: Despite what the 1-2 star reviewers says about this location, they’re exaggerating, yes while there are repro’s they do sell legit cartridges I’ve been searching for a Pokémon Emerald for 15 years and decided to call them up hoping to all that is holy to nerd god that they had Emerald and yes they had an original copy and a Repro they sold them both for the respectable market listing prices (original copies are worth $150-160 and repro’s are worth $20-30 on the game market), so while they do sell Repro’s they do have original cartridges you can tell a real and fake from the copyright and the chip on the games board. Anywhat I digress I called this location looking for a non Repro of Pokémon emerald and they had it, I instantly told the gentleman working at the location to hold the game for me and drove from north Everett down to their location and snatched up the original for about $140 they sell the games for a reasonable and fair price I was also able to then buy brilliant diamond and Pearl for 39.99 each as well as sword and shield so despite those negative reviews I would highly recommend you pop in, look at the stock ask which cartridge is an original and which is a Repro they’ll be honest with you and if you suspect they aren’t just look at the game board, my Pokémon Emerald was clean when I bought it and the gentleman replaced the battery so I could have a clean and healthy game. Over all five stars from me ⭐️ easy to get to location ⭐️clean store ⭐️nice employee ⭐️ reasonable prices ⭐️excellent customer service over the phone

Negative experience: I went with the expectation that they could repair two Nintendo Switch controllers, you know, the left stick issue. If it wasn't possible, I was thinking about seeing what options they had. The owner, cold and distant, first told me that they did not make them because it was more expensive to fix them than to buy new ones, then when he saw them (because perhaps he did not understand), he told me that repairing them was simple, that they only placed a paper ball under the command and that was it. But that they did not do that repair, sorry. Instead of looking for an alternative service or giving me an option, the shopkeeper said goodbye saying that I should drive to Nintendo of America, since they repair the controllers, not knowing that I don't have a car. Disappointing first shopper experience on site, I will definitely not visit the store again although it looks interesting. The shopkeeper is right, I better buy or repair it directly with Nintendo of America.

Positive experience: Pros: Great prices. Large-ish selection of good retro and modern games. Also lots of board games. Cons: Owner and other employees were quite rude. Cartridges were quite dirty, unable to run without being cleaned. No knowledge of their own stock. Unable to ask questions regarding such over the phone. My issues probably major to some, are really minor to me. I just want to buy games for my collection, and I would recommend others for the same purpose. Just make sure to test games before buying.

Positive experience: Depends on who is working.

Negative experience: Their "generous return policy" isn't so generous. I bought a (New) broken controller from them, when I returned it the next day with the receipt, they would only give store credit.

Fantastic experience: Brought in my Xbox One with an issue that another electronics repair shop couldn't diagnose. They had it up and running while I waited, and didn't even charge me for the trouble. Definitely supporting this place whenever I need something gaming related from now on!

Fantastic experience: Endless variety of video games and game consoles.

Positive experience: Great staff who's happy to be honest and knowledgeable. The place is dirty as you'd expect, but well organized and keep their quality up. They also work in the used markup game, but of course they have to to survive. I like and trust these guys.

Positive experience: Great place with some great selections. I haven't traded anything in here personally but pricing for purchases is usually reasonable. Great place to find more obscure or rarer gaming items.

Fantastic experience: I've been coming to this place ever since it opened. Me and my sister has developed a friendship with the owner who is very nice and easy to talk to. Always have a nice service and prices are great. I will always recommend this place if anybody has any older consoles.

Negative experience: Went in to get my Elite co troller fixed, it had right stick drift. When I got my controller back I could tell immediately it wasnt a good fix at moving the joystick around was not smooth at all. When I got home I tested it to see if it worked and the drift was worse than before. My controller was also still connected to my xbox which means they didn't even test it to see if it worked. Very dissapointed.

Fantastic experience: My 16yo son loves this place. They have vintage games, game consoles, board games, and they can repair broken game consoles. The prices are reasonable and even offer year end sales (like buy two get one free). The owner is very knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. I will definitely return.

Fantastic experience: Good service. Varied selection of used Nintendo games. Got a few authentic Gameboy cartridges, and DS 3DS game cards. Decent 7 day return policy and 60 day fix or replace guarantee used hardware. I got myself a Gameboy Advance SP AGS-101, and a (new 2014) 3DS XL.

Positive experience: Probably the best in-store selection of PS-1, PS-2 games, none of the really good ones, games for many other systems, but they can call you if a requested disc comes in. Saves a lot of time driving around town looking for an older system, because Value Village and Goodwill doesn't have them.
