Fantastic experience: Great store! Our family attended the midnight release of the Nintendo Switch 2 and was impressed with the event. We were treated kindly and we had a great time. It was organized and fast. Jason is a great store manager and handled the business with professionalism.

Negative experience: They don’t close at 8 they close before 8. I have tried to come here at 7:30, 7:20 and other times and the door is locked. I understand closing up at 7:50 but 7:30 is not late. They need update their google hours.

Negative experience: Arrived at the store today 4/14/24 at 11:50 am. Store was aupposed to open at 12pm. It is now 12:15 and people are standing outside and in their cars waiting to spend money and no one is here to open the store!! This store location 438 E Edgewood Blvd is a joke! They are always closing early. I have sat here and watched many people come and go. This store must not need any business! Would give half a star if I could.

Negative experience: So on the website it says that’s it opens at 11 and the note on the door says it opens at 12 but it’s past both of those times multiple people were waiting and knocking on the door and nobody came to the door so it was just making people frustrated.

Positive experience: So yesterday I went to this gamestop because the PlayStation 5 was acting up so I got another one using my insurance plan and lo and behold it doesn't work properly and I called to speak with someone and a guy named John answered and I must say his attitude was subpar at best the guy that helped me yesterday the 28th of February was personable over the phone and his attitude was nice but John not at all so now I must wait to speak with someone else because John isn't a person that seems to enjoy his job at all. I very seldom leave bad reviews but sometimes it's necessary.

Positive experience: EDIT: The store has remained closed far too many times like this. Its really annoying. Not just particular times, seems random. What's the point of retail stores if this is supposed to happen? I do share my set of issues with GameStop like many others, but I feel that one absolute best thing about GameStop is its employees. Chris and Brenn have been very helpful and attentive to me during my visits and during my occasional phone calls. Both of them were very helpful and have been all ears to me, even during having a lot of customers in the store. Chris has even helped me very well during my visit to the Eastwood Town center location. Thanks you guys! You rock!

Fantastic experience: John needs a pay raise fr Hes funny and easy to get along with, went through the trouble of looking for mondern warfare 3 for PS4 for me. To no avail, couldn’t find it which i didnt mind too much lol. He did help me out with getting a controller though and we made some real good conversation. He treated me like an actual person instead of the usual customer service. I work in fast food and I love having conversations with people so this was really nice. Bro’s underrated. Bros a W.

Negative experience: Today, I experienced the worst business service I think in probably my entire life. I went to this South Lansing store to purchase a newly released game for my son. Being a rewards member, I usually purchase from this store. NEVER AGAIN. These fools told me I needed to wait 15 minutes because someone needed to go smoke a cigarette....not accept money for a purchase...over at least $60.00..go smoke a cigarette. What type of business bufoonery is this? Craziest business move I've ever heard. Couldn't wait 5 minutes to close the store FOR A CIGARETTE!!!

Negative experience: I have been a customer of Gamestop for over 13 years. Today, for my Sister's birthday, I took her to get a collectable Pokemon light that she wanted. Everything proceeded normally. However, when we got the light home, I tried to install batteries, only to find that the screw holding the battery cover was defective and could not be removed. I decided to return to Gamestop and simply ask to exchange the defective item for AN EXACT DUPLICATE from the shelves. I was informed that Gamestop's "new policy" is to not allow returns or exchanges on their items. This was obviously very upsetting, as I have never been to a single retail establishment which doesn't allow for exchanges in cases where the product is defective, and there is no reasonable way to know for sure that a product will work without opening it. The assistant manager, Liam, gave me a customer service number, and allowed me to use the phone to call them. I was informed by the pandering customer service corporate drone that there was nothing they could do. I demanded to speak with the drone's supervisor, and waited more than TWENTY MINUTES on a silent line for some kind of response. The supervisor spoke with Liam, and basically said that the only thing he could do was to contact the store manager, who would then contact me in SEVEN TO TEN BUSINESS DAYS. Obviously I was incredibly upset by this. Gamestop's policy basically seems to be that if you buy a product from them and it doesn't work, barring the purchase of one of their warranties (which isn't even offered on lower-priced collectibles), you're screwed if your product doesn't work. The ONLY reason this is not at one-star review is because Liam was extremely patient with me and did everything he could to help, even making an exception to help me out, as he understood my being upset. Afterall, this was a birthday present for my sister. If anyone in corporate, or even the store manager reads this, then I have only this to say: You need to do everything you can to take care of Liam. If not for him, this unethical and unreasonable policy would have cost you a lot more than the sale of a thirty dollar piece of plastic. LIAM is the sole bright spot in this story, and I wish him all the best for all his help. For everyone else: Buyer beware. Know that if you purchase anything from this company, barring any kind of warranty purchase, you have NO current recourse to protect yourself! EDIT: One month has passed. The franchisee was supposed to contact me within 1 week. I have never received any contact from them. For that reason I am downgrading to a 1-star review for this store's piss poor conduct. Once again, Liam is the only highlight.

Negative experience: I Went in to To purchase a used Xbox One machine When I asked to look at them as they were in sealed boxes I was told you have to purchase it before you can look in it to see the condition of the merchandise. I left with out purchasing one . Not gonna buy something ahead of time with out seeing the condition.

Negative experience: Called for more information about a pre order I have with a different store. Was interrupted before I could even ask my full question with information I already know regarding the stay at home order. What I didnt know was due to marketing reason for each individual store they cant switch things around with my order. Was told gamestop has been reaching out to people with pre orders via email. Havent received said email, I have even been sending emails via web portal trying to get a response... it's been 3 weeks now Overall I dont blame the individual store for the corporate policies, however, I do blame the store for having a rude employee who was more interested in getting off the phone than actually helping a loyal customer. Is this why they are dying?
