Game On

Positive experience: Went in yesterday to see if they could change a battery on a Gameboy cartridge. The guy at the counter didn't really seem like he wanted to be there or talk to anyone. When I asked him he said "if it's necessary" like I'd be asking just for the hell of it. When I asked him how much it was he said "sometimes the owner does it" and when I asked him when the owner would be in he said "sometimes on Saturday". If it's not a service you offer say no. Don't treat it like it's something your friend Dave does on the side for beer money. Other than that prices seemed ok on what I saw.

Negative experience: Worst placed in my opinion I literally just seen him with my eyes he give a girl $20 for a whole bunch of old game parts not even worth 10$ He tried to buy all these games for 30$ red dead redemption Pokémon jump force and super smash brothers They well rip you off GameStop gave me $65 for all four games I’m disappointed with the game on South High St. I tried to give them a second chance, but it seemed like they don’t want business dude was selling a NBA 2k24 for more than 2k25. He kept telling me it was a new copy what was on the used game stand and then he told me it has Kobe on the cover so I asked him how much does he buy the game for because I have the same as that one then he told me they don’t buy Old sports games, but selling them for way more than what they’re worth which I didn’t understand but it seems like they don’t want your Business, you’re better off just buying digital. It will be way cheaper and less of a headache.

Negative experience: Stopped by Tuesday I want to say and was offered less then gamestop ... Not for one game but the offer for multiple games here was less then gamestops offer for any 1 of the games. If you want to buy though it's great, Prices are all 12-25% market which is how you know it quality when you pay more for the same thing you could pay less for anywhere else. I don't think the price bump would bug me as much if it wasn't for the disgusting offer on the buy like if your buying for less then a quarter of market you could sell at a quarter below market I would respect that at least but nope it's like giving you 4 nickels and asking for a dollar.

Fantastic experience: I go here for all my video games they are very knowledgeable and caring about thier customers they can get anything you want if they have it available at thier stores and if they can get it.

Fantastic experience: Got 2 games and a PS3 controller. I plan on going here again for another controller and a few more PS3 games. Best place I've ever been to in regards to game selection and prices are great, compared to GameStop Walmart etc. game on you guys rock man. Controller works great game disks were a little bit dirty, nothing a good cloth couldn't wipe off though saints row 4 and gat out of hell I think gat was $7.99 and I paid $9 for saints row 4 and $25 for the controller. Those really should come with a cord since radio shack is gone you really can't find those older charging cords. But I ended up paying $8 for a cord the mini USB. That would be my only thing is how much I paid for the cord. I plan on going out here today if I can get out that way ✌️

Fantastic experience: Loved the place and everything in the store! The girl was knowledgeable and very cute and friendly XD I went in with a buddy of mine and bought a precon edge of eternies deck and a poster.

Positive experience: I was hoping for more cards/ modern gaming supplies but was pleasantly surprised by a VAST array of vintage games. If you're trying to find a game from your childhood you should definitely check here! I'm certain I'll be going back sometime soon to pick up something from their very large vintage pokemon game collection, they have the one game I need to complete my own collection!

Negative experience: The prices they have for the mtg finalfantsy set are insane where you can normally find them for 75-85 dollars they want 100+ just for the standard this shop also gives terrible service unless you come her "regularly" so I assume if your not friends with the owner don't bother next time I need cards I'll just go vist my friend in indiana

Negative experience: Don't bother trying to do business with them if you want MTG merch. They only cater to "regulars."

Negative experience: Store refuses to sell you magic product unless you are an active player at that location.. I have had back to back poor experiences with this location and I don't know why I even bother coming back

Negative experience: Will start this with all other locations I’ve been I’ve had no complaints. This location had a great selection however Josh P seemed a bit sketch. Bought a total of 5 games today then I proceeded to ask for about 13 bucks off essentially he tells me my final price would be about $12 higher than what they would have been prior to me asking for a discount. I assuming honesty (cause why wouldn’t I?) thought I must have just been pretty rusty with my math. We settle on a total $2 higher than the original non-discounted price (Keep in mind I’m under the impression I’m getting a discount based of what Josh said the total ended up being.) I get home take a look at my receipt turns out he gave me a total of $4 off while also charging me $7 extra for game. Essentially spending more money overall had I just not said anything to begin with. I’m out a few bucks not a huge deal I know but honesty and respect are something I value far more and unfortunately it doesn’t seem I got any of that here. I certainly will not be back and will 100% recommend other stay away. Selection: 8/10 (Tons of reprinted cover arts and rigged cases) Prices: 7/10 (fair overall if held true to the price they actually have listed on the game) Customer service: 2/10 (nice guys but will bull shit you with a smile on their face)

Positive experience: Good selection of games and consoles which is all I really payed attention to esp n64 which is what I was looking for . The guy working wasn’t the friendliest but all in all was a good experience

Fantastic experience: No clue what the dudes name is at the spot on South High, but he's awesome, just super quiet and polite and very knowledgeable. I have yet to have a bad experience here, which I highly doubt is even possible lol I'll continue to buy my games and TCG here.

Fantastic experience: Searching for retro games in 2024 isn't as easy as it used to be. But this place had it all, from original Xbox to DS games, to Atari games! As well as old systems to play them on. Definitely recommend when searching for retro finds!

Negative experience: Came in today . Game Xbox CD doesn’t work /not reading will be returning as well unfriendly vibe with the workers 2 wmale and trying to ask questions Store has changed use to come in here when I was younger with my mom .

Fantastic experience: The people at this location have always taken care of me and have always worked with me on high dollar games and I really appreciate them!

Positive experience: So went into store never intended on selling my items just wanted to see if the store would be fair. So I go in with Contra 3 cib for Snes system,Mario Kart cib for Snes and Super Mario RPG cart and manual all it Great shape because we take pride in retro gaming. The guy literally takes 20min to offer me 120.00 dollars for all of these items. Unbenounced to him while he was checking pricing. Just a few feet away in their Snes game cabinet they had for sale, Super Mario RPG priced at 107.00 dollars. But yet offered me 120.00 dollars for all my items. I tried really hard not to blast you guys. But this is terrible business To the owner I know you trust your three workers but those guys suck.

Positive experience: This store is not a bad store, has lot of cool retro games inside and even a mini arcade! Pretty cool. The only down side is the games are not in alphabetical order and the customer service I had was a bit kinda rude. It seems like the guy behind the counter was having a bad day and didn’t want to be there.

Fantastic experience: Yesterday was the first time i had shopped here and I am glad I stopped! They have a mix of everything and i love it! What I love most is the customer service I received. I came in earlier in the day with my eye on a special edition N64 and the individual held it for me until I could return to pay in the evening. That meant a lot to me! He was super knowledgeable and an all in all cool guy to work with. I will definitely be back here to pick up more stuff!

Negative experience: Stopped in to see what they would offer me for some old nintendo power magazines. By old I mean the first 15 volumes. Most in only fair condition but a few that were in really great condition. Issues 3, 4 &5 . Issues 1 & 2 were only fair but I had read how earlier this year issue one sold for 108,000$. (You read that right...108 thousand$). Granted mine was not a 9.8 graded issue but the first issue none the less. IThe guy working did not even ask me what I was wanting to get out of them before telling me he would pass on buying them. I was not expecting 108k . Really I just wanted some store credit to buy my son a 60$ video game. I will have no problem selling my collection elsewhere. Place showed bad business practices in my opinion. Don't waste your time like they did mine.

Fantastic experience: My absolute favorite game store. Great variety of games. I love the rewards program. And they give military discount!

Negative experience: Its ironic how they have cleaned in their slogan, just teared down this wii u i got from them claiming it was “cleaned” clearly not, there was a dead spider and another dead cockroach.

Positive experience: They don't have many xbox 1 controllers or headsets. I tried to buy a Xbox one headset and the guy tried to sell me a headset for a Xbox 360. Thankfully I looked at it before I bought what they guy referred.

Negative experience: Called down to ask if they buy/trade games... rude employee after some back and forth small talk informs me they pay 20% values on games. That in itself is insane, but it was the remark after that got me... "we dont need your business" you told me all I needed to hear... I'll take my business elswhere....

Negative experience: If you want to buy a game on release day where it gets marked up 100+ dollars and the owner says nothing about the cost until he hands you the receipt shop here!! Poor attitudes by belittling certain type of games or gamers. If you are only in to doom and god if war that’s all you should sell. As a customer you are sure to have them rob you and take more money then any other game store in Columbus probably even the state!! 10/10 recommend avoiding this building like the plague.

Negative experience: Thanks for selling me several non working Sega games at the TORG Expo. For what you charged for games I expected they'd at least work. You owe me $60. Only your games did not work. These people are crooks.

Negative experience: Shady store, prices are really really high above eBay and price charting. Was interested in a game I thought was an ok price, still not great. They " looked it up on eBay " and it was going for more. Then they mysteriously couldn't find the disc for the game, guarantee that will be getting marked up later. Other merch wasn't priced , asked about pricing "we just look it up on eBay that's the price ". Why would I pay ebay prices when if I wanted to buy on eBay I could just do so from my couch at my house. I was the only customer there, I'm guessing this is why.

Positive experience: The people that work there are pretty knowledgeable and friendly, decent prices if your buying merchandise but not the best if your selling, you will definitely get much less then half the value of your items.

Fantastic experience: Had a far more varied selection of GameCube and PSP games than many of the game stores I frequent around Dayton. Managed to get a copy of The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, so overall I am impressed. They were also very polite and efficient.

Fantastic experience: Went to this location and bought a PlayStation 4, got it home and it didn't work!! Took it back and they had to did something to it to fix it I guess. Took it back home it worked for a few days and then stopped loading (working)all together. I called and spoke to someone and was pretty much told that they couldn't do anything to help! So needless to say we're out $300 for a broken playstation! Don't buy refurbished PlayStations.. I give them 1 star review. Thanks

Negative experience: Worst video game experience ever because an employee sold me a game knowing it didn't work for $35 and when I returned it he only offered $9 store credit and poor customer service and I would highly recommend not buying games from this location. His name is Brian and he is the manager and if anyone knows how to contact the owner, I will report him for how rude he is and for very poor customer service

Positive experience: Really neat store for games and retro games. Im not an expert but the prices seemed reasonable. They also have TCG cards including pokemon and MTG. They have some funko pops and other neat things. The person working there seemed very introverted, not welcoming at all. I dont even think he acknowledged we were there.

Positive experience: Had a good selection of games but they put these stickers with their asking price that leaves a terrible residue on the case I had a fairly big stack of game no discount which that’s fine but usually used game stores give a couple dollars off for buying larger quantities the employee was no help nor offered any and half the games I bought don’t even work so overall not the greatest experience but as I stated before they do have a good selection of stuff

Fantastic experience: I don't have much comment on the staff or the buying experience, but I can say that the pricing for retro games was very realistic, and where it should be for the market. They aren't charging $35 for SMB1 nor are they have buy 1 get 1 on commons. I'm definitely going back when I'm in the area.

Positive experience: Really fun collection of stuff. Old and new games. Everything seemed priced to sell and not like a museum. Staff wasn't super friendly. A bit more dialog with the customer would be nice to make a better experience.

Negative experience: I went here with my roommate Mary last week. She returned a Nintendo system. The manager, Brian, was very rude, very short and curt all she wanted was a refund. He had a major atitude andit wasnt the 1st time either. She called another time and he hung up on her. VERY unprofessional. I thot getting a older system for my self but I will take my money elsewhere.

Negative experience: Do NOT BUY ANY PS4 CONTROLLERS FROM THIS SPOT!!! Selling third party controllers for 55 dollars that’s insane they are not even worth twenty they don’t even connect to the PlayStation well and buttons are delayed by at least a second which makes game play impossible. The only bright side to the store is they have hard to find games.

Negative experience: As a collector with 5k games I used to like coming in whenever I passed through Columbus. That is until my last experience... Just got done at the TORG Expo so while not spending as much as normal I still stopped off to see if there was anything I'd been looking for. I found a few items that were a good deal and went to check out. Upon checkout the clerk informs me that he can't sell me the items I had at the price they marked them at (Dark wizard for Sega CD at $24.99). Instead the price apparently doubled??? If you had them on the shelf (two of them) priced at $24.99 you apparently priced them that way to sell them at that price....to me that is completely shady. Needless to say after that I told the clerk to not bother with the other items, and in turn my friend who was withe also put the items down he was going to purchase, and we left.

Fantastic experience: Had a very relaxed environment, wide selection of games going across a bunch of different consoles, and very good prices. Hit up a bunch of game stores during a road trip and this was easily my favorite stop. If I was local to the area this would be my main game store for sure! Keep up the amazing work!

Negative experience: I bought $100 worth of games in here despite the customer service lacking tremendously. Guys behind the counter were condescending bc I didn’t know mortal kimbat wasn’t on NES. Despite that I spend over $100 in wii accessories, NES GAMES, and a wii game I have waited two weeks to be off work to be able to olay this just dance game. Open the case and these guys put an xbox 360 game in the case. Not even like the same game, not even close.

Fantastic experience: I live on the north side of Columbus, so checked this store out along with a few others on the south side. While nothing particularly struck me, the selection was really good, and they had retro stuff too, which was much appreciated. I collect mainly Sega, and they had plenty, just nothing I needed. Lots of retro Nintendo.

Positive experience: Game on as a whole is the Best place to get your used games. Usually, they have a massive selection for both new and old games all the way back as well as a few gamer friendly gifts. (Collectables and plushies) Prices are always fair compared to other game stores, as well as a decent value on trade in. Staff is usually friendly, but can be understaffed at times for this location.

Positive experience: They pretty much have great prices on alot of the older game systems like nintendo, super nintendo, nintendo 64, sega, nintendo DS, and a great selection of games as well as DVDs and other things! Very nice staff

Fantastic experience: Josh has been here since 2012, Loyalty is Royalty, nothing but improvements every time I go there, they also have movies so one stop shop for adventure, respect , time mechine with older Video games, endless smiles.

Positive experience: Staying open in the middle of this epidemic is a bold business strategy. This is the kind of store where you can find such things as "factory new" PlayStation memory cards. It has the feel of a yard sale. The store employees are legitimate gamers and they'll know more about what you're buying than your average Joe. They even have tools they can use to repair worn down consoles or scratched game disks. Recommended if you're shopping locally.

Negative experience: Last time I went into the Great Southern Store it smelled terrible. The whole store smelled like straight unwashed, week-old, gamer body odor. Besides that, the entire store is grimey, the carpets look like they haven't been cleaned in years, the ceiling looks like it's about to fall in and there was dust on most of their product. I also agree with some of the other reviewers that Game On charges too much, you can get much better prices by driving 15 minutes up the road. The guy who checked me out was rude too. I've been coming here on and off for years, since it was still called Brandon's. Save yourself the trouble and go to any other game store in Columbus.

Positive experience: It's priced higher than most other brick and mortar stores and internet sites however they do have an abundance of retro games and accessories. That being said sometimes the staff aren't very friendly

Fantastic experience: The staff has always been helpful and courteous and never any pressure to buy. They have a huge selection of games, from new stuff to retro consoles and cartridges. These guys have become my "go to" game shop for sure.

Positive experience: I've been to this place before when I was struggling getting money I sold a bunch of my old game stuff and got a lot more money than expected. But this time when I came in I was seeing if I could sell this one item I honestly didn't care if I got money for this. But when I handed the gentlemen the item he looked at it for a second and then He said "I think I'll pass" in a very rude manner. Being this is the second time here is why I give it a 3 star rating. Maybe if I come here more often I will like it more.
