My brother and I came in to return a PS3 that was supposed to be 500GB but turned out to only have 12GB because the previous owner had swapped the hard drive. The owner didn’t hesitate to make it right — he actually bought the correct 500GB HDD for us out of his own pocket! On top of that, he gave me a discount on a game I picked up, and when my brother bought a game that came in a white sleeve instead of a proper case, he swapped it out for a real case at no extra cost. Customer service like this is rare. Honest, helpful, and genuinely cares about his customers. Highly recommend!

Experiencia negativa: I went to this shop a couple of days ago and the experience overall was decent. My one thing was that I called in advance asking whether they had a specific game in stock, I was pleasantly surprised to hear that they did and when I got to the store it was sitting in a corner away from all the other games, what I found weird was that the sticker price looked like it was freshly printed, I ended up purchasing the item and when I got to my car pulled the sticker off to my surprise the price had been altered +10$ the game has had the same price charting price for ages.. shady stuff if you ask me but I get it we all have to eat.

The prices are extremely reasonable (not like GameStop at all), defs going back to get some games soon. They have games both retro and modern!!! The staff you can tell are real gamers, love what they do, and that love goes into the store and the great energy it has. Their displays are fun and intuitively arranged. The owners were quite welcoming and fun, the cashier was great too and helped me find ds chargers (that I didn't have to get off of Amazon, thank God). Jason the new owner the man at the register great customer service gave me an awesome deal on the things that I brought in I had no idea what they were but he knew everything about the game. Handicap parking out front with a handicap entrance easy to get in and out. No public restroom. Refreshments.

They have a great variety of games, accessories and even collectibles to choose from and also do buy one get one half off deals as well. Jason is very knowledgeable and can help you find what you need. They also get alot of stock in at least twice a week and give good trade values on games you dont want. Highly recommend this place for your retro and modern game needs.

Experiencia fantástica: I had a used, scratched up game that I had bought on eBay that needed repair. After $5 and less than 10 minutes, the disc looked brand new. The game is now working perfectly! While I was waiting, I had a nice chat with the owner, who was knowledgeable and friendly. I was in a hurry at the time, but I'll definitely be back when I have more time to look around.

Experiencia negativa: Was greeted nicely, noticed prices were unreasonably high for most products, like 30-40 percent more than normal market value. Had a small conversation with Jason, seemed like a cool dude. Told me to come back if I wanted to do trade ins. Coming back to the store later that night, I was looking to aim for a Pokémon limited edition new 3dsXL. They normally sell from 330-400 used but this one came with Pokémon home/bank, so it was valued at $500. He kept stating that you cannot download those apps again and that’s what made the system so rare. Which is already untrue because you can easily access them with a modded 3ds. Which this one was modded, it was not an original download. I traded in some old consoles and games that I hadn’t used for years, they were sitting in my garage. A major issue I had is when trading in he didn’t really know anything about what I was trading in, couldn’t get the names right of anything and kept checking online about pricing, fair enough. But the trade in value for store credit even, was so incredibly low, I felt I was getting completely ripped off. I can tell he was just making up prices on the spot, But I really wanted that 3ds so I just stuck to whatever value he said. He came to a value of 140, for everything I brought. And I told him I had 250 because that’s everything left from my paycheck this week. Unfortunately that wasn’t enough so he said he will put the value down and to come back with the rest. During the trade in, a man named Carlos who owned another retro game store and was Jason’s friend walked in and was very nice and respectful and I can tell was genuine about what he does right away, I do not get that from Jason. It was late at night so he said come tomorrow and stay in touch on instagram. They helped me out to my car which Carlos then told me to come by his store and I can sell some of my other things and he will buy them from me. Next day I go to his store and he really helps me out by giving me the rest of the money to finish the trade at R U Game. But I didn’t want to leave empty handed because Carlos was so nice and helpful and I bought a $20. Back to R U GAME?, I brought everything inside, had the money he had asked for in hand $325 and told Jason, I bought a game from your friend Carlos because I felt bad just selling him things without actually purchasing from his store. Bringing down the 3DS to 475. Now apparently my trade in was only worth $130 and I didn’t have enough because Carlos was nice enough to give me just enough for the trade. After trying to negotiate Jason on a mere $10 deal, I told him I just needed money for lunch. Then proceeded to make phone calls and video calls just questioning people about selling the product to me in the first place when I had all the money he had asked for, and continued to say just charge the rest on my card. But refused to actually follow through and made me wait there for like 30min just standing as I had the trade ins ready and cash in hand for the exact value he was asking for. I felt disrespected and complete lost trust once I saw he wasn’t willing to do the trade anymore. We finally came to a conclusion after waiting so long, probably about an hour in the store. Later I got a message on instagram stating most of the stuff I traded in was defective or not working. With his words “What are we going to do here”. Like how am I supposed to know if what I’m trading in doesn’t work. It’s the stores job to test and verify what is being traded is something that works or is of their interest. I am simply a customer, who didn’t even feel the slightest bit of respect btw. With the store under new management, I cannot recommend anyone goes here for purchasing product or for trade ins. Jason is inexperienced in dealing with customer satisfaction and general knowledge of the products he is selling. Please go see Carlos at CG Video games at the Tampa Mall. His prices are very fair, he is an honest and genuine game collector who wants the best deal for his customers, and I will be going back there but never to R U Game.

Experiencia negativa: I’ve been a loyal customer here for a long time and always thought this was one of the best local retro gaming stores around. That’s why this recent experience was so disappointing. Be cautious when buying consoles or trading in items here. If something goes wrong, don’t expect them to take responsibility. I used to recommend this store often—but after this experience, I can’t anymore. A few days ago, I bought a used Retron 5 console (with a receipt, only two days old), and it turned out to be defective—the cartridge slot was so tight it actually damaged the pins on one of my Nintendo games. When I went back, I wasn’t asking for a refund, just store credit. I was polite and patient, but the manager, Jason, became defensive and inconsistent. He first claimed returns had to be made within 7 days, but my receipt clearly said 30 days for consoles. When I pointed that out, he changed his reasoning, saying it had to be “broken,” even though the receipt said “defective.” Then he told me to contact the Retron company for a warranty, which makes no sense for a used item—and honestly, that sounded like an admission he knew it was defective. When I mentioned I wouldn’t drive back again just to prove the damage, he went to the register, grabbed a $20 bill, slammed it on the counter, and said it was “for gas.” That summed up the lack of empathy and customer awareness I experienced. To make matters worse, a few days earlier I brought in some trade-ins, and the front cashier (who has Puerto Rican tattoos) was speaking in Spanish to what seemed like a friend about how I “must not know what the SNES Mini is worth.” I’m am also P. Rican and fluent in Spanish—and understood everything. It felt disrespectful and unprofessional, especially from a store that claims to be under “new management.” All of this makes me doubt the direction the store is heading. It’s not the policies that will hurt this business, but the lack of honesty and respect for customers.

It's got a lot of charm as soon as you enter and they have a great inventory. They have a decent selection of the newer stuff, and by that I mean xbox 360 era and onwards.. but what most people will be coming in for is the older stuff. I'm always impressed at what I can find in here, and they always have a special going on so I'm always leaving here with a couple things to take home. Overall it's an important stop for retro gamers in the area and its only getting better.

The Gameboy color games replica they are very fun but, unfortunately you can't get past the elite four the replica games have a delay when you save and once you defeat Lance and right before he registers your pokemon at the pokemon league there is an auto save point but because of the delay in replicas when saving it will fail and you'll be stuck at Lance and won't be able to get to the Kanto region.

Experiencia positiva: Pricing isn't bad for most things. The selection, while not terrible, was not quite as good as Mighty Mike's, Unlimited Video Games Superstore, or the M &M I went to. That being said it was still worth a visit and I got a good price on super Mario world 3 for GBA. It's super close to an M&M so there's no reason not to go to both if you're on the hunt

All of the staff here is incredibly friendly and I usually spend my time chatting with staff while I’m browsing games. I do most, if not all of my game trades and retro purchases here. All of my CD’s purchased here look brand new and always work. I can always count on this store to have what I want, and accessories for old consoles I need. They also will resurface your retro game discs. However, keep in mind that they will NOT do blue rays and newer gen game resurfacing due to the issues resurfacing cd’s make to those types of discs. If you have retro games, BRING THEM HERE!!!

Experiencia negativa: Promised me I could trade my games in for full store credit, came in to trade them in and the workers didn't even know how to do it. so I left and came back later and then they told me I was too late to give full credit. Wasted my money, don't waste yours. Also the store really stinks. Smells super bad in there.

Experiencia positiva: This is a decent retro store that also sells collectables. The selection is okay but nothing too rare, mostly games you'd find anywhere. The staff is very friendly and they will let you know of any deals they have. They have a good selection of Repro carts for N64, SNES, and NES but they are charging too much for fake carts. At the very least, they do let you know that they are repro and are not trying to sell as authentic but selling N64 carts for 30$ each is high. Only reason for 4/5 stars.

They have a large variety of video games from Nintendo Sega, PlayStation Xbox, etc. They also sell consoles and offer disc repair. Next time I go to Tampa I will definitely swing by and see what games they have for my PlayStation two.

I called for a PS4 slim hard drive and they told me they don't have any.Ok, so I asked if they had external hard drives (which are different ) he tells me "no like I just said" it's two different things .that's not what I asked the first time.lol.

He greeted me as I walked which is a big thing for me when entering any store. They have a variety of different items which I like. This place is very similar to a place I goto back in New York.

Experiencia positiva: This sits in the University Plaza by Jason's Deli. They had some pretty cool deals such as buy one used game, get one for 1/2 off. Their selection was good, the prices were more than fair. Each game was about $9 and under. The staff was nice and asked us if we needed any help. They have old game system games too like Gameboy, action figures and toys. We didn't buy any games since none of them interested us but it was a cool place to check out.
