Experiencia negativa: Refused trades for Nintendo Switches for minor barely noticeable “cosmetic” damage but again, not even noticeable. I didn’t ever notice it until he pointed it out and we play on them daily. Fully functional, all parts and box included and wouldn’t take the trade in stating he was “following policy” total waste of retail space.
Experiencia fantástica: Visited the store Sunday morning and had a wonderful time. The employee working was very helpful, kind and a true professional. The store was clean and well organized.

Experiencia negativa: I went in to return a game I purchased for my brother that was for the wrong console. When I brought it in the employee Michael said that the warranty I purchased with the game will not be refunded. When I had asked why he simply stated he “can’t do it” I told him I understood he couldn’t and asked if he could get a hold of someone who could help with it. He responded with a very loud verbal sigh, as if I was asking him to move a mountain. After contacting the manager and getting the warranty refunded, I puchased a few games. He then accidentally put the wrong game in one of the game cases. He made it seem like my fault, and I was an inconvenience for catching his mistake. The employees attitude is very off putting and uncomfortable. They give off a very lazy and aggressive impression. The selection of retro games is okay, but to avoid a “basic GameStop employee” interaction I would definitely recommend the GameStop in Lee summit over this location.

Experiencia negativa: Went to gamestop at 4 pm for the Pokemon code that you can get through the end of the month, they had none left. The dude said no with a big smile on his face and I walked out. Launching a pokemon tcg on the same day as a code is ridiculous. If its a gamestop exclusive thing they need to get more then what they're sent. I understand gamestop is going out of business and honestly good. I am glad. I went the same day the code for shiny koridon and miridon released. It shouldn't matter if I am there when they open or a minute before they close or a day after, they should still have codes left or order more when they are out. That is so dumb. I left your stupid store without buying anything. Good way to lose customers.
Experiencia negativa: Went in to ask for a code to that shiny Pokemon promotion, the employee gave a condescending answer of "we've been open for 6 hours". You don't say? Definitely won't come here for sure on any future purchases.

Experiencia negativa: If I could leave 0 stars I would this company is terrible and have the dumbest policy and membership. My son tried use a gift card he received for his birthday to get a Xbox gift card that is much cheaper than buying in the store. But of course the policy is you can't and they don't even price match to buy the game in the store. What a load of crap so you have game stop money but you can't use it for what you need. If you don't except gift card purchase you should at least offer the customer a price match. Why should have to spend money when he has a 50.00 gift card. Membership is terrible too. 5% discount a month but you still have to pay for a warranty each time. Why doesn't that come with a membership. Then I purchased a controller and got the warranty then wasn't allowed to return it because I wasn't a member. Please explain the benefits of being a member because I truly don't see it. I would tell corporate but of course the customer service line hangs up on you. Just poor service and business all around. Find a better option this place sucks!!!!!!

Experiencia negativa: Customer service was terrible, we ask for a game that came out a week ago and they were surprised that the game was already out, they told us to go to another store because of the game was to new they couldn’t see if they have stock in other stores, went to the store 15 min away and they have it, what’s the point on work in a game store if you don’t have the knowledge of the games that are coming out? Experiencia fantástica: It was a typical GameStop, no frills about it. How were, the sales associate was very friendly and helpful. The female associate helped my young son by navigating him to buy the game right for him. Customer service was excellent.
Experiencia negativa: The L2 button didn't work on my new controller, 1st time used, and they wouldn't exchange it. I purchased a ps4 controller refurbished because they didn't have any new ones. Jaimie the manager & michael i spoke with. I bought it less than a month ago and used it for the first time today. That's disappointing it was $70+ with tax. Don't buy here.
Experiencia fantástica: Michael and another super nice dude helped me out just a bit ago. After having such issues with a different GameStop these two went above and beyond. And they really listened and made simple solutions to help. I will no longer go to any GameStop in the metro area anymore. This! Is the GameStop to go to! They really care about the gamers experience! Great customer service.

I've always had a really easy time getting what games I go in there for and I've never felt pressured to buy anything, which is one of the reasons why I always up my Pro when I stop in. Maritte helped me today and they did a fantastic job. The store was incredibly clean and didn't feel cluttered at all, too. Thanks so much!

Experiencia negativa: Left an inexperienced worker on his own to deal with multiple angry customers that he was unable to help. Spent about 40 minutes there for a simple exchange just to be told that nothing can be accepted at the very end. Not only that but he wiped my ps4 before all that so this has caused an even worse inconvenience.

Experiencia fantástica: I have no idea how beneficial my reviews are but I have always considered it a privilege to have the opportunity to express my experience with the various businesses in and around the area. I won't bore anyone with the same old thing as I have mentioned in one of my other posts regarding my experience with a different company online but I will definitely say that I am always going to be completely honest no matter what and I am the first one to admit my mistake. . . (See other reviews for more details). This store is exactly what you want when you walk in the door no matter who it is you're buying for. It's not the biggest store obviously but I had no problem finding exactly what I was looking for. Everyone was really helpful but I didn't feel like I was bombarded by the helicopter sales people who might have a few good reasons to take a vacation.

Experiencia negativa: Called this store and spoke to a woman who said they had PS5's in stock and held one for me. She did NOT tell me I was required to buy a SECOND controller AND that I was required to be on Gamestops Pro plan to be allowed to buy (mine had expired so it would have been $15 to renew). So the cost of a PS5 and game, plus a surprise $75 for a controller and $15 for the pro plan? No thanks. I wasted my time and almost my money by driving to this location and she could have saved me time and frustration by being up front about the real cost. What a terrible experience. Left without making a purchase.

Experiencia negativa: Me and a friend went here on 12/20/20 to purchase a few games and whatever else seemed interesting. When we walked inside we were not greeted but everyone that came in after was greeted nicely. There was at least 2 workers behind the counter and one straightening up the shelves. Not once did anyone offer any help or anything after walking around for 15 minutes. We decided to leave and take our business elsewhere. It sucks because I have a membership with GameSpot but I will not be returning.

Experiencia negativa: Reviews for businesses like this won't really go very far, but it is what it is. I stopped by a few days before my birthday to trade in some equipment. I was first met by a girl who was so helpful I renewed my Powerup Card (?) subscription to help out her numbers. Well, it got to the point where she wasn't sure how to give me trade-in value on my smartwatch, which was completely understandable. A manager (?), [redacted], walked over and tried to assist me.....and twenty minutes later, after ringing me out for everything else (in his name, not hers), he told me since he couldn't pull up the smartwatch in his system (Samsung Galaxy Watch, mind you), despite the fact I already had a quote from the website, there was nothing he could do. Of course, he just stood there and looked at me like I was being unreasonable when he made no effort whatsoever to figure out how to resolve this issue. I got visibly irritated, which I am sorry for, because I had my wife and son patiently waiting for me in the car (a 30-minute trip that should have only been 10). But guess what? We went across the street to Oak Park Mall, and they were able to find the watch in about two minutes. The manager there confirmed there was no reason for [redacted] to not be able to do this. I don't know what the problem was, and if it would have taken thirty minutes but he was able to find out the problem? I would have been satisfied. Just not impressed with the overall apathy from this employee, and it soured me enough to leave this review. Please, train your employees to learn how to problem solve. Not everything is going to be easy, but when you have customers with a legitimate concern, it's worth taking the time to figure these things out. Especially when you can take the time to tell a mom and her son how to "cheat" the warranty system to get a new pair of headphones. I'd love to provide more feedback to management about this incident if possible. I don't want to shame the specific employee, but apparently this isn't the first time the OTHER store has received complaints about this person... Unfortunately.

My only gripe is the weird return policy. I got a xbox one controller for my PC, and I wasn't a fan of the one I bought, so I went to return it, and was told i couldn't, unless it was defective

Lots of gaming options, game related merchandise, and a very friendly staff. Edward was helpful and professional even though he wasn't feeling 100% definitely a great work ethic. His coworkers were there immediately to have his back and ensure customer satisfaction regardless. Fair trade in prices that best buy couldn't touch! I'll be returning soon. Thanks everyone!
