Fantastic experience: Some of the best people in retail. Always great to my boys when they go in!

Fantastic experience: I drive hours to this particular game store because they consistently have some of the best stock and fairest prices on retro games. They always have just about every game console in stock and even some rarer games in addition to vast libraries of pretty much whatever you want to buy to fill your collection. Staff are always friendly and professional and will take the time to make sure you know what you're buying and answer any questions you may have. A small section of the store is devoted to trading cards as of December 2025, and I hope they don't expand this section as much as some other stores do as they are a little tight on space!

Fantastic experience: I've been shopping at Game Giant since I was a teenager. They stand behind their work and I always walk away glad that I went in. We're lucky to still have a place like this that we can actually go into, get what we need in-hand, and receive excellent service. I would say they're an asset to the local community.

Negative experience: Wish I could show a picture tonight I went into the store to get my PlayStation 2 worked on the night before I cleaned it with canned air and alcohol the guy with big earrings and glasses wants to sit here and try to tell me at a roach was inside my game but I believe the guy so I bought a PlayStation 4 from y'all in the box that y'all gave me is full of roach eggs in my car has roaches all in it now for the ride home I posted a picture of the box and bugs the bug problem is on y'all guys be careful customers check your boxes or roaches will be all over your house and car which I understand roaches get in boxes but the fact that they tried to blame it on me after many years being a customer tonight will be my last time

Fantastic experience: My absolute GO-TO game store in Wilmington since I was young. Knowledgeable and helpful staff, insane amount of inventory. I've had them help, me get several of my old systems up and running again over the past month. So glad to still see this store thriving in 2025 and will continue to support them as long as I can!

Fantastic experience: I can never say good enough things about this place. I brought in 2 Xbox’s for sale today and unfortunately they weren’t able to take either but they informed me why and have always been so friendly. I’ve been going here for 5+ years and it’s always been the same. Go here instead of GameStop!!!

Fantastic experience: Hands down best game shop ever. Last year they helped me get my original PS2 up and running and have been super awesome and helpful since then. Went in to troubleshoot a controller I bought when it wouldn't work right, and they made it right for me with absolutely no fuss. They have a huge passion for helping all the retro gamers out and have a huge selection of older games. Couldn't recommend enough

Fantastic experience: I could not say enough good things about this store. The owner is an absolutely great person. I travel to my families beach house for memorial day every year and discovered this awesome shop in 2024. I made the stop in again this year and was blown away again with how kind the staff was, how friendly the owner is, and how fair the pricing was on games. I did sell them some of my older random inventory and they gave me a very fair and reasonable price for it. This place is a must visit if you like video games and movies. They have it ALL. Hope I can make the visit again next year!

Fantastic experience: My wife and I were visiting Topsail from out of town and during a day trip to Wilmington we decided to stop in. They have a great selection of titles with very reasonable pricing! Everything is well-tested and cleaned and they even showed us every game we bought working before they rang us up. Next time we're in town we'll be sure to make a stop here!

Fantastic experience: I've been going here for close to 15 years. Have never had any issues. Great owner and staff. All really cool people. I've had an issue here and there, which is expected with classic systems and accessories, and they have always jumped right on fixing or replacing it. A+ Business.

Fantastic experience: The shop is 10/10. The owner is a cool dude. The guys working here are solid even that guy who looks like Harry Potter and plays pokemon. They always have a great selection of games, cards and toys. I once saw a special needs guy with a spit bottle in his front pocket spitting Redman into it and they didn't complain at all. Just real classy people and a very nice environment.

Negative experience: The game store is great 7/10, but beware selling or buying pokemon cards here 0/10. The guy will not be honest about price and overcharge you and either severely under value cards you bring in to sell or refuse to comment.

Fantastic experience: Game Giant is a place where I feel like I took a step back into the 90s and entered the video rental place. Only this time, I can buy all of the games! The staff is friendly and really helpful. The atmosphere is bit dated but perfect for what it is. I'm an old school gamer and I expect this to be where I can buy old school games, and talk about old school stuff, Period. And I love it! From Sega fans, to Nintendo fanboys, and even having the modern consoles, Game Giant has you covered. The prices are fair, and are willing to negotiate if there's wiggle room. I'm not saying this place is for everyone, but if you're looking for a no frills, one stop shop for retro gaming, Game Giant will scratch that itch.

Fantastic experience: me and my wife come into this store anytime we are in wilmington but this last visit was the absolute best visit ive had at any retro store ever. the staff was incredibly nice and helpful, even if i had a silly question or two to ask, they did not treat me with any sort of disrespect or like i was stupid, which is a breath of fresh air compared to other game stores. the owner was an absolute treat to chat with, he helped check me out and talked a little bit about how he ran the store and how all the bells and whistles worked. wonderful selection of games, great staff, and pretty good prices too? what more could i ask! will be coming again!!

Fantastic experience: Bought the GBA system and a link cable that is not pictured because it turned out to be faulty, but I brought the cable in to determine what the problem was (system, game, or cable) and after 10 or so minutes of trouble shooting, I was sent on my way with a much better setup at no cost. If retro games and consoles are your thing, I highly suggest making Game Giant your first stop when shopping for games, consoles, and accessories. Thank you guys so much!

Fantastic experience: I've been coming here since my freshman year at UNCW in 2018. The staff is always super nice, and incredibly helpful. Prices are always fantastic and they have an awesome exchange policy if you change your mind about a purchase. Their repair services and great rates are so fantastic that my relatives in Raleigh come all the way here whenever they're having issues with their console. If I could give ten stars I would. I've never had a negative experience at Game Giant.

Fantastic experience: Came in today just to look around at some xbox360 games. Ended up finding a large quantity of xbox360 games. I purchased 2 games. The cashier was very nice and helpful. The building was spacious and had several types of video game consoles and many types of video games.

Fantastic experience: Easily one of the best videogame stores in all of North Carolina. Having games ranging from the turbografx to the ps5, along with services like a disc cleaning service, I'd say it's worth going to. They make sure that all cartridges are real, and will even test them in front of you before purchase as well. They also sell dvd's and bluray's as well!

Fantastic experience: I've been to a few similar game stores, this place has blown all of them away. Not the biggest building, but they have used their space right. The place is packed with tons of games. They even had the PSP charger I was looking for. My wife was in the car and it was 10min until closing, so my time was cut short. But I'm heading back to Wilmington ASAP with this place being the main reason for the hour+ drive.

Fantastic and helpful staff, not to mention the incredible selection of classic games and their consoles (NES, SNES, N64, etc) and more modern stuff (XBOX 360, XBOX 1, XBOX Series X, PS4, PS5, etc). Pretty cheap too; definitely come to find some great games and new additions to collections.

Negative experience: It's not worth it. I suggest just doing you're own research. DO NOT turn in your stuff here. Just sell your games and your console online and ship it out. It will take longer but still u get more money out of it. I had a super well xbox 360 slim 500gb with controllers and a few games to turn in for money. I didn't accept there absolutely absurd low ball offer for the console. $40.. seriously?? And there legit selling them themselves for nearly $120. Ridiculous. would never recommend buying consoles from this place just get them cheaper online. Only thing good here sorta is the games but some are overpriced tho..

Fantastic experience: This is THE place to get used video games for all kinds of systems. I go there for Nintendo, Xbox, Xbox 360 and PS4. They have a large selection for older (and newer) game systems, including the handhelds. If you're trading in old games, I think they lowball people, you may get more if you sell them online. But that's just my opinion. I don't get rid of my old games.

The selection on both used and new games is great, so if you’re on a budget there are plenty of options available. Also, they offer you fair prices for items you are trying to sell. I sold a lot of my old games to a pawnshop before hearing about this place, and it devastates me to think how much more money I would have gotten if I had brought them here. Overall this is a hidden gem in Wilmington. If you are a gamer you owe it to yourself to pay them a visit.

Negative experience: They do no refunds and they tell you that after you purchase it and they don’t do any exchanges after the 3rd day but will give you store credit but only half of what you paid would not recommend buying from here the people running the store are crooks and you can find cheaper online

Fantastic experience: The owner is very nice and personable, and will actually give you a fair price for your games. We made $1500 in a week selling old video games, most of which we would have thought were worth nothing. If he thinks it is worth a decent amount, he checks the prices in front of you to see the current trend and give you a good deal. He can buy old game systems or scratched games even if they aren't working, because he knows how to fix them.

From wonderful staff, to great customer service; I've not once had a bad experience here. So by all means, go here and get your nostalgia on. Also ignore Powdered Toast Man. Will Brislin's just mad he got banned from the store four years ago for loitering.

Managed to find a PS1 game to add to my collection, and they had tons to choose from from pretty much every console. Staff were welcoming and eager to help out. Glad we stopped by while in town!
