Negative experience: This is by far the worst gamestop!! Apparently, this one particular Gamestop doesn't let folks under the age of 18 in the store without a guardian. That is strange.

Negative experience: First off, gentlemen behind the counter today was rude and looked to be annoyed when I asked him if he could appraise my 2 Xbox’s. Secondly this is why GameStop will be closed within the next 5 years, what do you mean I have to be charged 65 bucks for trading in my console if I don’t have the Microsoft controller? He kept hitting me with the annoying “you’ll end having to owe me bud, while continuing to work and not make eye contact”. Sorry buddy that you’re miserable working at GameStop but at least have human decency to look another person in the eyes when their on your store asking questions. Eric at the Monkey Junction location when I called and asked to confirm went over policy and was happy to answer questions. Save yourself the disgust an go to the other locations in Wilmington.

Fantastic experience: Since no one can read the actual Mayfaire town center rules about parental supervision being required at all times while in the plaza. I took the liberty of posting the actual posting under the alcoves of the actual shopping center. The ones complaining about a business enforcing town center rules shows the exact level of entitlement, and the fact you have kids and can’t watch them speaks volumes to your character as a parent. GameStop should not have to be a babysitter because of your laziness to supervise your kids. Be better as a parent, WATCH YOUR OWN KIDS AND STOP DEPENDING ON BUSINESSES TO DO IT FOR YOU!!! Rule number 25!!! WATCH YOUR OWN KIDS! The rule has to be enforced by multiple businesses because entitled brat kids love to destroy store merchandise and reek havoc inside, stores are not a playground for entitled kids with no parenting.

Negative experience: Since when does GameStop require parental supervision to enter their stores? I see no posted signs stating such a thing. Not sure if Brian or the bearded fella sitting behind the desk need retrained on customer interaction. This is the second poor customer experience at this location.

Fantastic experience: I was in the store on Tuesday and the new store manager Bryan was very helpful in helping me find what I needed. Aside from all of the rude and snobby people this place deals with, he did not let it stop him from offering me extraordinary customer service. Thank you!

Negative experience: I'm going to GameStop for the last time today to pick up a game. I was going to pay off my pre-order yesterday so a family member could simply pick up the game while I was at work. But GameStop would not let me payoff my pre order because they have some weird policy where if it's after 3 PM the day before a game launches, it gets locked up in their computer system and it won't let you. Imagine THAT being a problem in 2025. No other store in America that I can think of has this issue. Anyway, I mainly only came to GameStop again because I was able to trade a couple of Amiibos, and I wanted a physical copy of the game I was buying. I will not be returning to GameStop in the future and today I will conclude my business with them as a company.

Negative experience: I will not be back to GameStop. A $25 membership is now required to purchase any collector cards at this location on top of a rather noncompetitive retail. This practice is what hinders the company from achieving success in the retail field.

Negative experience: Waited in line for hours for Pokemon release. When I got the the front they refused to sell to me because I wasn’t a pro member. They are not Cosco. Why are they refusing paying customers after they wait for hours. Manger was very rude and made it completely clear he could care less about GameStop customers.

Negative experience: If I could give 0 stars I would. Whoever the lady was working on April 16th at around 11am refused my husband the chance to sell our Xbox because she stated it “smelled like cigarettes”. We don’t even smoke. Smells like racial profiling to me. It’s 2025. Get it together.

Negative experience: The manager at this location is trash. Do yourself a favor and go to Monkey Junction instead. Everyone there is actually helpful and professional. It’s worth the drive every time.

Negative experience: A few weeks ago, my son and two friends went to buy Pokémon cards, but the employee told them they could only buy two packs per group. This was not a wait-in-line event, it was mid-day and they actively had cards for sale. I visited later that day and asked about this policy and was told it depends on the store’s stock, but other GameStop locations said this wasn't a company policy. This past weekend, my son returned for Pokémon cards again, only to be told that only customers with a GameStop Pro membership could buy Pokémon cards. He paid $25 for a membership just to buy Pokémon cards, but later that day, I went to a different location in Monkey Junction and bought them without needing a membership. Needless to say, we won't be buying here anymore.

Negative experience: There is a reason this location went out of business. The manager is not a good person, he makes up nonsense to hustle you and he is never helpful. Today I was lied to and told I needed have a pro member ship to buy two pokemon card tins and not one, which is not a requirement at the monkey junction location. PLEASE go to the monkey junction one, they are x1,000,000 times better, especially the management. I have had multiple bad experiences here with my friends and I could not recommend any more to avoid this place.

Negative experience: Every time I’ve been there that place is usually spic and span and squared away. Dec 20, isn’t Black Friday-calm down. It wasn’t so busy you should be that stressed. Nothing nuts was happening, yet, the store was filled with leaves and everything was disheveled. Now, maybe that happened this morning and the constantly was more than would allow for you to quick clean. It didn’t look that way to me. Most importantly, the guy behind the counter was a jerk! Dude, I don’t care that your line starts in the middle of the store. If it’s not intuitive no one‘s gonna figure it out. If you’re continually having to tell people the line is over here then you’ve got it in the wrong spot and you should fix it. Not be a jerk about it! Also, I don’t care how you feel personally, you should say thank you at the end of the sale. It shouldn’t be the guy standing there looking at you saying thank you when you’re running the store. Lastly, if you don’t like your job change it. Even the lady in front of me, she was just trying to buy a gift card for a kid or grandson or something on the Xbox. You’re a freaking jerk to her for what reason do you have to behave like that to people. You’re not smarter than everybody else bud, give it a rest!

Negative experience: If 0 stars was option, you'd get them. This location is sad and irritating. They never open on time and the people that run the place are lazy, just standing outside the door at 12:05, store is supposed to open at noon, dude standing behind the counter and puts a note on the door saying "opening at 12:30" this isn't the first time this exact situation has happened at this location. If you can't show up to work on time and open the door on time then maybe corporate should give more of a shit because your employees sure don't.

Negative experience: This location will add a warranty on your game without asking. Be aware and look before you pay. When I said something about it they said it automatically gets added. I’m sure that was a lie. Why would I buy a 1 year warranty for $4? I have had games for 15 years that are still in perfect condition. They also sold me a game new but it was opened. They said because it was the last copy it’s technically new but I get the opened case. Made no sense. If it’s an opened game it should be sold at a discounted price. This business is shady. I’m going to stick with Best Buy. I can see why GameStop filed chapter 11….

Fantastic experience: I gotta say, I'm not usually a fan of Gamestop, but we came in here to buy a new gaming system that was on sale. It was one of the nicest Gamestops I've probably ever been in. It was organized, clean, and the guys that worked there were so nice. I had fun just browsing through all the Mario stuff and being nostalgic and looking for games while my husband chatted up the guy who worked there and talked about video games. We will def drive back to this one if we need anything in the future.

Negative experience: My wife went in to buy a video game for me for Christmas. She asked for an Xbox series. X version of the game and that was what was rung up on the receipt. They put the game in the bag for her and she proceeded to drive 45 minutes home. When she got home she noticed they gave her a ps4 copy of the game not the Xbox series. X version. Since I work by this GameStop I went to return the game to get the correct version and I didn't get a single word spoken to me the entire time. Not a high. How are you not? I'm sorry for the inconvenience. Nothing. Poor customer service for sure

Negative experience: If I could give 0 stars, I would. I wish I would have read the store reviews before coming to this location. Came to pick up a game for my son and was sold warranties without my knowledge or consent. I had no idea this was even a thing, as it was never mentioned anytime during my interaction/transaction with GameStop employee. Thankfully my teenage son was able to make me aware of the situation. Super unprofessional and untrusting. Beware of this location, this is truly wrong.

Fantastic experience: Unfortunately, I didn’t know that if I use my $25 certificate it will only apply to a singular item and not the entire purchase. It was applied to a $12 item and I lost the remaining $12 on my certificate. I was told to call the 800 so they can issue me my points back. The customer service over the phone sucked. Said he would give me 10,000 points then said nevermind. Ke’Von helped me out by giving me $10 off my next purchase. He was great! but the 800 number people not so much.

Negative experience: The Sales rep digitally purchased the game for the wrong system I tried to return it and he said he couldn't return my gift card only what I paid. I had to argue with him for 20 mins eventually he called customer service and I got what I paid in cash and my gift card back, but its useless I will never enter another gamestop ever again. The employee legitimately tried to tell "that's not how it works".

Fantastic experience: I had received some items for Christmas I already had and went to exchange them. Easy to find things around the store and well organized. The front door is very dark, thinking they were closed at 6pm but they were open till 7pm. Mayfair is a nice area to shop

Fantastic experience: I don’t ever go into Game Stop except when I’m with my boyfriend but today we were in search of a Switch Lite (which is completely sold out everywhere) and Todd came in clutch and found us a refurbished one for $20 less! He also was so adamant about getting us a coupon and offering to refund it once we got it to load/work. He’s super nice and friendly.

Fantastic experience: Todd and Greg are always around to help me figure out what I need! This Gamestop is also the cleanest in town. Thanks for reminding me every time about my old games to trade in for new ones. I won't ever go best buy or target for games anymore. Midnight releases here are always great, it feels like an actual gamers party.

Positive experience: The staff is very kind, professional, and knowledgeable. However, corporate fails time again to properly inspect their refurbished consoles, and in general the overall image of GameStop has declined. The selection is good, however, I need valid reasons to not shop online from competition. Corporate best figure it out as I'm surprised they exist.
