Fantastic experience: Game Over Retro Videogames is an awesome spot for collectors and gamers! Raul went above and beyond helping me track down a rare PS1 game I’ve been hunting for. Not only did he take the time to find it for me, but he also checked if I had any store credit and discovered I had $6 waiting. Thanks to that, I was able to snag this hard-to-find classic for only $15! Great customer service, super friendly, and definitely the place to go if you’re into retro gaming. Highly recommend!

Negative experience: Called about a n64 yall had it in stock. Came to the store to purchase, clerk decided his phone was more important than my purchase so we left. I did get his attention before a customer returned for a charger.

Negative experience: I rode a motorcycle an hour from Katy since I saw the ad's on social media and the photos on yelp showed a really good looking store - I was disappointed to say the least Apparently you can't trade games in after 7pm like.. are we fr? I just rode an hour with a 5 pound bag and couldn't fit any more games, so I left empty handed. Half the games on the wall were not CIB and being sold at similar prices as CIB in other stores. The least the owner could do is print some sort of photo so I don't have to read handwritten covers. Fantastic experience: My visit was pretty fast. I walked in, asked if they had any GameCubes, and to my luck, they did. They explained that they test all their consoles before putting them up for sale and they even had the tested date on it. Really professional staff and very knowledgeable of the products they have. I totally recommend this place

Positive experience: They have a good variety of popular/ common video game selections from Atari to PS5. The video game selections are primarily preowned and prices are inflated for popluar titles while unpopular titles are fairly priced. They have nintendo merchandise from door mats to keychains. Id recommend this place for gamers who need gaming accessories on a pinch, they have used and new; the conveniency of buying in person and instant, will come at a inflated price, compared to buying on ebay or online. For example, the psp chargers are 14.99 at this store but on ebay they are priced at $8 with free delivery. Do your research on pricing ahead of time if you are looking to save money. They do buy, sell, trade too. Id recommend this place, worth a browse.

Fantastic experience: They have tons of selections at reasonable prices and the options were endless, the store is covered with memorabilia old and new.

Positive experience: Only reason why 4 stars is because me and my dad bought red dead redemption 2 for the ps4 and ever time I put the disk in at 6 gb it always says error and idk if it's the game are the console.

Fantastic experience: This place is the best! I have no idea why some idiots put one star, the only thing one star was the jerks that posted h8. I'm just bummed because I didn't venture in sooner. The staff are kind and knowledgeable. And holy cow do they have every system and game I've never heard of. Keep up the awesome that yall bring!!!

Fantastic experience: This is a great store for used and vintage video games, consoles, and accessories. They also have gifts for gamers like hats, toys, and artwork. The staff was helpful and friendly.

Negative experience: I have been lowballed by this store on two occasions now, first time I was not given full trade value for a platinum gain cube in good condition with two OEM controllers at the time they had a promotion that said game cubes in good condition with OEM controllers at $80. I was denied that because the controllers were dirty and I was told I could not go home and clean them to get the full price today. I was also lowballed on two popular games MegaMan X4 and Pokémon X I tried to negotiate knowing the stores policy of going up to 30% and the associate said that they only do that on consoles which is not true and then he tried to say it was oh just for popular games and which is also not true as long as it’s not one of the shovel wear games I know people who I’ve worked for the company. I’ve worked in the games resale market before I know what I’m talking about stay away from this location.

Fantastic experience: Great, neat, underated Local Shop! I was recommended this shop from family. I needed and picked up a perfect X360 s controller (because gamestop online sold me a controller with no battery case or thumbstick rubber)... Game Over's was way better for price with awesome OE stickers. I also picked up a non-running console that ended with a great experience. Totally reccomend!

Negative experience: The only reason I am giving this place a two star rating is the fact that they have a nice selection of games. However, who's to say that's actually their selection? My boyfriend and I were on the hunt for some Xbox games and came across this place while in the Houston area. It was 40 minutes from where we were and we decided to make the drive. There was only one guy working the counter. We browsed a good bit and my boyfriend found a game he wanted to purchase. We waited for him to finish up with the people in front of us (about 10-15 minutes) After waiting for the salesman to finalize a sale with the three people in front of us, we sat there waiting again for about another 5 minutes just to be told the game we wanted to purchase wasn't in store and it must have gotten misplaced during their move from some vendor even they recently had" all the guy could say was "sorry" offered no solution whatsoever. Sorry didn't put the game in our hand or offer our time and gas wasted back. Disappointing first time experience. Would have definitely been back if it weren't for this. But they lost a potential customer.

Negative experience: Really would like to know who sets the prices here. One trip to pricecharting.com shows how insanely inflated they are. If you guys are buying stuff at market price, it isn't right to upcharge people who may not know. You are counted on to be professional and people trust you won't try and scam them, but selling Zelda Wind Waker for 150 when it goes for 60 to 70 anywhere else is INSANE. Pokemon Yellow, loose, no box, for 100 dollars when it goes for 50. Really need to explain why you guys are upcharging on almost every game you guys have.

Positive experience: Pretty alright place, only negative thing I have to say was that one of the disks that I bought didn't function likely due to it being scratched, was able to get a replacement for it though since it was like a 5 minute walk to.

Negative experience: 6/21/2025 I called the guy working and he told me there was a Harvest Moon GBA available, told him I'll drive there to pick it up. After arriving and looking at the selection they guy tells me he can't find it. Spend the drive and waiting patiently for him just to tell me that I pretty much got bailed to come in and buy nothing.

Fantastic experience: Classic games , i love this spot and it’s one of the best spots (one of the only spots) in H town to get your video game collection up no matter which generation of gaming your represent! Thank you !

Fantastic experience: My oldest 2 kids are gamers and we have had about 5 walkins here in the past year. Bought 2 consoles from them that were fabulous and everyone working is so pleasant and I love that. I set up an account with them and love the reward system.

Negative experience: I'm normally a good customer with them, sold them several consoles, but when I tried to sell my wii/GameCube they only offered me 30 dollars for entire console and sells it for 120. Don't sell your consoles here or games they will not give you a fair price for it An 90 dollar up sale is not due to limited inventory, your guy tried to low ball the hell out of me and get a system almost free. If your going to buy systems at least be fair. Again consumers do your research on any game console or game to see how much it's worth so you sell it for a fair amount because they will get you

Negative experience: THIS PLACE IS A SCAM. DO NOT SHOP HERE!!! this place sold us a console claiming it was tested and works. we drove almost an hour to come buy it. but when we got home and tried it it glitches so bad (on various games not just one) that its not playable. then they claim that there are no refunds and only store credit. we’ve been in there several times and never found anything worth buying until this console, and it ended up not working so store credit is useless to us. THIS PLACE IS A SCAM. WE DON’T WANT STORE CREDIT WE WANT OUR MONEY BACK. THIS GAME IS SUPPOSED TO BE TOY POP.

Negative experience: Over priced eBay tends to have better deals. Their quality control is lackluster.. I bought a game that they resurfaced got it home it was cracked & didn’t work. If you ask to see the disk they act as if it annoys them.

Positive experience: Found stuff I thought you had to order online solely and at reasonable prices. Don't waste your time at those other game stores at the mall, head on by Game Over for all your video game needs.

Negative experience: Not offering cash for games, only store credit and very little store credit at that. Expect the Game Stop experience here before you drive on 1960.

Positive experience: It's pretty good. Has good prices on games but doesn't have anything different that other retro game stores offer.

Negative experience: Went there to sell a game collection I had, just after I found the prices of them that day taking into consideration the condition they were in and what they sell for on eBay, they offered me roughly 1/6 the actual value. That was fine and all but right after, they sold my younger sister a game and not until she was done swiping her card did they inform her of their “return policy” stating there is no refunds even if the game doesn’t work, only trade in up to equal value of the game. Waiting until after she paid was completely unprofessional and in this case with what the policy is, extremely malicious. Won’t be giving this company any business!

Fantastic experience: Perfect for retro gamers. They pretty much have something from every console generation going back to the 80s. They carry games and consoles for current generations as well. Gamers of all types should be able to find something they like here.

Negative experience: The manager had a standoffish attitude which is not my typical experience at game stores. I brought in games to sell and he offered $40 which I was happy to accept. He did not need to be unpleasant though, maybe he was having a bad day ‍♂️

Fantastic experience: Lacking on nes,snes and gensis..but all other formats they have a decent selection.

Negative experience: I just had my partner call to check on the availability of a game for me, and the guy who picked up was named James I believe. James was incredibly rude and told them that “he can’t check for them” and immediately hung up on them. No context or anything, he couldn’t be bothered. They have terrible customer service and are not helpful. Why pick up the phone if you cant offer any help?

Negative experience: Nice employees but quality checks needs some serious work before you sell products. I have purchased a fat ps3 system two days ago and the controller it came with buttons are jammed so I went in today to buy another controller, took it home and the d pad and face buttons don't work. Wth guys??

Negative experience: Great customer service! And decent selection of games! I wouldn’t recommend selling games to the company unless you are in a pinch! Trade in credit is good from them! UPDATE: went today to visit the store and wanted to see how much cash I would get for 5 genuine Nintendo switch controllers. Controllers were tested and nothing was mentioned of defects. They offered me $20 for all 5 controllers (I’m positive the business would have sold them each for $20-$30) Customer service is good still :) PLEASE SELL YOUR GAMES AND ACCESSORIES ELSEWHERE OR ONLINE YOURSELF :)

Positive experience: Decent selection. They have several stores so if you're looking for something in particular they can call up the other stores to check. The location for the store sucks though.

Fantastic experience: Ordered online after visiting this store off and on for a while. Got what I ordered quick despite the holidays, in dang near perfect condition with manuals and everything, and every time I call or am in store the customer service is always A1. Do yourself a favor and check this place out.

Negative experience: Don't try to come here to buy games. I'm pretty sure if half the games on your shelf including they EXTREMELY pricey ones like Animal Crossing or Super Mario Sunshine (They didn't even have this in the store yet still tried to sell it) don't read or are broken or corrupt, then they're essentially ripping you off. Can't do refunds either, only trade credit. And that sucks too considering when you try to use your credit towards games but half to keep finding replacements because the games dont read then what the hell am I supposed to do? there is still one game that I couldn't fix. Go to Quicksave Video Games in tomball, they have WAY better options and prices. Hell they even fix your discs less that Hey Bro videogames does!

Fantastic experience: Great Employees at this Store! Very helpful in-person, or over the phone. Knowledgeable, helpful & respectful staff. Well stocked store! Plenty of parking at this location too. I'm editing/adding to my review, after reading some others regarding the Game Over returns policy...over the phone, before I ever went to their store, I was told there is a 14 days return policy. The details are simple; if you buy an item & then it doesn't work properly after you take it away from the store, come back & Game Over will replace it, if available, or give you in-store credit, to get something else, but they do not give refunds. Imo, that's fair enough.

Positive experience: Have to hands down give the white guy that works in the morning a shout out, forgot his name but he wears glasses, and usually bright colored clothing. Anyways dude always has a answer for my question and a price that follows. Now for the actual review for this place, I'd say I mostly like it because they have just about almost all the things you would need for almost any console if your collector plus a decent size library of games. Could use more gamecube games but as for the rest for collection it's pretty vast. The only thing I didn't really like was they weren't able to transfer products between stores , so for instance if one of there stores near Baytown/Galveston i believe had a copy of game I was looking to get they couldn't have it delivered to there location to save me the trip but I assume because it's a relatively small business some things just aren't possible. On another note they do seem to have some rare games in-stock at a decent price almost as competitive as Amazon. The upside you can actually test and resurface any games they have before you purchase.

Even if it wasn't at this location, they still helped out and called the store on Southwest Fwy to hold the game for me :) Definitely coming here again for hard to find games!

Fantastic experience: Got a Jet Black GameCube there on March 20, and it works just fantastically ! It almost felt brand new. They have a ton of games there including complete GameCube games and more. Highly recommend you check it out.

Negative experience: by far the most expensive used game store ive been to, they also charge games that dont have covers or manuals the same price as complete games, they will also ask over full price for accessories, guitar hero controllers here can be over $100 for something you can find at a garage sale in better condition for $1

Positive experience: I go every now and then in search of Old games. The workers are guys like me who enjoy games to their extent and would defend their favorite game. I truly hope Game Over Grows bigger and provides gaming inside of many kind

Fantastic experience: Not a massive collection but they do have a lot of great little gems to find. The staff member I had interacted with was so helpful and nice, even talked about some cool games. They really do try to have as much of everything as they can from ps4 to Sega Saturn to any old atari game. For many retro stores the pricing is actually super great. Love to have it in my area.

Negative experience: Inventory is typical. Lots of forgettable retro games, very little desired inventory. Selling broken consoles for 50% off? Get them fixed and sell them regularly as refurbished. That's a bad look, lol. They got a nice little demo tv by the entrance of you wanna test something, which is nice. Feels like a flea market store, could use a little more to get ppl to hang out, possible for traffic, etc. Just always seems slow and unexciting...

Positive experience: This place has good deals on newer and retro game consoles along with a reasonable selection of games . Takes you down memory lane. They'll take your older vintage game consoles and game too.

Fantastic experience: My fiance sells used gaming systems he finds here and we always receive a decent amount for our trade ins. The staff is courteous & knowledgeable. The store is clean & organized & they have a vast selection of competitively priced items for a wide array of interests & gaming needs. Lots of cool & eclectic merchandise. Negative experience: A manager at this location thinks it’s okay to tell eBay sellers to go kill themselves when they don’t want to accept his unreasonable offer on an item. I would strongly suggest not having your eBay username directly linked with your place of employment.

They buy your used gaming gear from you or you can buy their used gear.They have all kinds of different formats to choose from, so check them out if your looking for a peticular item, or sell them your unique item.Just wish the popcorn machine was working when I went.

Fantastic experience: Had a 20 year old N64 automatically and randomly resetting. Was going to buy another one, but we tried a $10 jumper pack and it fixed the issue. They had what we needed and knew what we were talking about. Glad to know this shop is nearby!

Positive experience: Has a good selection of common and easy to find games. There is also a great section of art for sale and some strategy guides. The prices for the uncommon and "rare" games is way higher than if you would just buy online. I really wouldn't recommend going there unless you want your consoles repaired..
