Negative experience: I had brought in my gaming pc to sell (and even then it had dead bugs in it but I didn’t know which i understand you can’t sell with it like that but even then he didn’t need to VOCALIZE IT in front of the store) but Wade whoever the hell it was when he asked me how much I was looking to get out of it and since it was $1200 to get everything and it was custom built, but I had said at least $600-$800 which he immediately shut it down and started going on and on about the value and things and tried to say that he was being a “realistic person” but his tone was shit, like the way he spoke actually made me cry and start balling tears. Safe to say I will never come in there when he’s in there.

Negative experience: Please do yourself a favor and don’t trade in/sell here. They claim to offer 25% cash value for stuff but there’s no way that is true. I have a large original Xbox collection valued at over $1000 through price charting (which updates daily and is basically the gold standard on game values) and they had the audacity to offer me $100. I politely called them out on this scam they were trying to pull on me and then the assistant manager got really rude and defensive. I don’t know how they sleep at night ripping people off. I got offers from 3 other game stores which were all hundreds of dollars more, but the best offer was through LukieGames. You go to their website and you can click a link and tell them what you’re wanting to sell and they will email you an offer, if you like their offer they send you a prepaid box to send the items to them and they can pay you by mailing you a check or even PayPal. Takes longer, but please have enough self respect to avoid selling here. You have other options. Please know your worth. Don’t contribute to the problem. Game XChange knows there aren’t a lot of competitors in the area and are taking advantage of them. Together we can run them out of business like BuyBacks or GameStop almost was. We have the power to shop elsewhere, don’t let these greedy companies think they have the power.

Fantastic experience: Wasn't sure if they we open no signage. But hours of operation are posted! Friendly service, chill atmosphere . Seems they have a good amount of stock. If you're looking for something specific you're better off calling first. Went in for magic the gathering cards. They had the newest booster packs available and some cards behind the counter.

Fantastic experience: It's here fantastic. Easily the best games store I've been to. They have wonderful customer service with personable, helpful people who actually know, care and can talk about video games. They even help give you advice on setting up legacy consoles (original PlayStation, SEGA Genesis, etc) to modern ones too. Best part though is that it's just nice to stop in and browse around. It's basically everything GameStop should have been. Exchanges are also reasonable and again, they actually know and care about games. Great place for people if you're into gaming new AND old.

Negative experience: Sold me 2 defective games in the same day, they didn’t even test them before giving them to me and the only thing they tested was making sure it showed up on the 3DS Home Screen without opening the game

Since our business model is selling pre-owned items, we occasionally have unexpected issues, but it's extremely rare for two DS games not to work properly. Fantastic experience: Absolutely no guitar anywhere for my PS2 and this place not only had one but didn’t charge an arm and a leg. They have EVERYTHING and ANYTHING you could possibly want or need for any game system! I got a Bob Marley and Bob Dylan poster for $15. The big posters. Cool stickers to put on my guitar and I left with two new friends that day. Thank you guys soo much! Will definitely see you guys again, very soon.

Negative experience: I purchased several games in December, only to discover that some of them didn’t work. When I asked about returning them, the clerk assured me I could. But when I came back, I was told I wouldn’t receive a refund—only store credit. Here’s the part that really bothered me: the two broken games I returned were immediately put back on the shelf to be sold to someone else. If the games are defective, why are they being recirculated? It feels like a setup—sell a broken game, refuse a refund, and force customers into store credit so they have to buy something else. The whole experience felt shady, and I won’t be giving this business any more of my money.

I sincerely apologize to hear that this was your experience. I have never seen or heard about an employee returning defective games to the shelf. That is definitely not our policy. Customer service is very important to us and I will make sure to address this with the store.
Since our business model is selling pre-owned discs, slight scratches that we buff out before the customer leaves is common. We have a less than 3% return rate on our pre-owned merchandise because we really want to make sure everything is in working order. We also allow the customer to make a return for 90 days for the same or even different product.
Returns for cash are not typically possible because it would leave us open to many customers playing a game for maybe 2-3 months and then returning it for cash. Each store has a sign at the register regarding our return policy.
We are also willing to work with people on a case by case basis if our return policy doesn't meet their needs. If you'd like to email me at [email protected] I'd be happy to discuss this further.

Fantastic experience: This place is great. Helpful service. Always have a great selection of games. Love taking the kids here. Plus I've been a gamer all my life, which means I love finding my favorite classics. I think I've bought almost every game console I own from them. A lot of them used and they still run fine. Every generation of PlayStation every generation of Nintendo from 64 up every generation of Xbox. They've got them all and more than that.

Negative experience: Some of the worst prices and trade in values i have ever seen. Offering roughly 20-30% of an item's value is not "competitive pricing". If you want a genuinely good experience selling or trading your stuff, try a local store instead of this giant chain. I suggest Card N All gaming or Through the Decades. Not this sorry excuse of a nostalgia-bait cash grab
Fantastic experience: I’ve only recently found this gem while passing through each weekend for work. I can say that all of the staff here are so nice and helpful; including the store manager who recently teased me with a collectible they have! Great atmosphere and great staff. NEED MORE DRAGONBALL COLLECTIVLES FOR ME TO PURCHASE LOL. Again; the store manager is awesome! Really cool guy and treats the customers right.

Fantastic experience: Employees are great. Selection is great too except seeing all the stuff I grew up playing that I should of kept. Lol. Now that they have comics and vinyl records I'll be a regular.

I had some used but still great condition pokemon cards they were fair with what they gave for em.. also really nice man took care of me both times and he was respectable and kind. Also helpful to point me in right direction for more buisness in future. :) deffinatly reccomend to go and take a gander yourself. If your nerdy enough !!

Negative experience: Horrible customer service. Unprofessional and very long wait times to check out.
Negative experience: Stood at the counter for 10 minutes after asking for help and trying to purchase an item, I then was told I’d be helped after the man got off the phone just for him to completely disregard me after getting off the phone. Very unprofessional and uncomfortable environment when I hear the employees complain about their job and not going on break yet. Makes me unwanted and uncomfortable as a patron. After getting off the phone the man went to help another woman on the other side of the store. I was the ONE person at the counter AND the only person there actually trying to spend my money, everyone else was just trying to sell items to them. Maybe I’m mistaken but I feel as if a single item purchase that would take all of 3 minutes should have priority over several people trying to sell them items they have to look at for 15+ minutes. You guys don’t have a yelp and you’re lucky you don’t.

Positive experience: Employees are generally pleasant and accommodating. Though, inventory can be hit or miss and pricing is often inconsistent and or consumer unfriendly.
Negative experience: Staff do not stay. I don't know who I'm going to see next time I go in. This makes it really hard to build relationships with your game store. It's a indicator of how management runs things. I wouldn't waste your time with this game exchange or any other to be honest. It's totally up to the staff how well the store is run, and management doesn't really care what the staff do.
Negative experience: If I could rate 0 stars I would. Went here yesterday and bought a $50 ps3 Transformers war for cybertron game that i have been searching for for years. Came home was ready to play and the game freezes on the main menu. The game doesnt work. I take it out reset my system try everything i can to make it work but something is wrong with the game itself. I immediately call up there and speak to a woman they tell me if I come within 24 hours they will provide me my cash back and said she was writing my name down so they expect me. I go into the store maybe 12 hours later and they tell me they can provide me store credit or nothing. No offense but why would i want to spend anything at your store when you sold me a game for $50 that doesn't even work? But you can buy things from people with cash right in front of me. Will never go back to a game exchange ruined my entire experience

Negative experience: Employees do their best to be helpful and kind! but can only do so much when a company doesn’t care about their workers in the slightest, late hours with no security or safety precautions for employees ESPECIALLY after more then two violent robberies including a man literally being shot inside of this store really make me avoid shopping here sadly which sucks because this end of town really needs more hobby and game shops like this! gamexchnage corporate could care less about any of their workers or customers for that matter. I would love to feel safe and comfortable taking my time to shop here! but after ANOTHER violent incident recently I can’t in good faith support a company who so blatantly disregards the health and safety of their employees and customers. Also forgot to add on more than one occasion i’ve been in the store as the same time as corporate management and they could not have been rude and disrespectful to the patrons and employees if they tried!

Negative experience: The employees here deserve five stars. They are amazing, caring people who deserve the world. This business on the other hand is not worth one star. There has been a lot of crime going on in this area. This store has been robbed many times and someone was shot inside of the store. I am scared to enter this store. Any business that does not show that they value their customers or employers, especially their safety, is a business that I will not be supporting. I will happily be taking my business elsewhere that support these values
Negative experience: The store has been robbed repeatedly at gun point and they refuse to get any security measures. They do not care about the customers or the employees
Negative experience: The employees working here were very polite and attentive. HOWEVER, I did not feel safe going into this store while having the knowledge of the past robberies and shootings. There was no security or even enough employees working inside to make me feel safe. You can tell how afraid they are working there. It seems that the owner doesnt care about the safety of the employees nor the customers shopping there. I will not support a company that doesn't put their employees safety and well-being first.
Negative experience: Don't feel safe in the store. Someone actually died in there and the owner has done nothing to prevent it. Cool staff tho.
Negative experience: Most of the staff was welcoming and wonderful on my visit by the store to exchange some games in! But results in it were awful as I didn’t expect such rates for what I have even if it was little. And reading Around and hearing news management being wack and low security seems to be putting the workers in danger. Definitely something not to look away from.
Negative experience: The employees here are absolutely wonderful, polite, helpful, and know what they're talking about. That being said, its ridiculous that they're forced to offer such poorly priced exchanges, again something they have no say in, as well as the fact it seems like the owner has no concern over customer or employee safety. High crime area, multiple robberies, someone being shot and killed in the store, and no effort for even a security system has been put in place. Its shameful on the owner.
Negative experience: The employees were always kind and respectful when I visited this store. My problem is the store never felt safe. After multiple robberies (with one resulting in a death in the store), I no longer felt comfortable shopping here.

Negative experience: Employees there are super nice and helpful, but it seems the owner doesn't care for his workers saftey it has been the target of many robberies and a very jarring news story and protections agianst these crimes are little to none and are being removed I hope the employees there find a job where their lives and well-being are protected and taken seriously

Fantastic experience: I got every single metal gear solid game for like 30 bucks total My only complaint is some of the games have no cover and price stickers are on the case itself instead of on plastic wrap. Printing covers would help and I'd be happy to pay a little more for games with intact covers. Physical media is dying, so having a cheap alternative to the Playstation store is great. Staff are helpful and seem to also have a love for games, which is nice to see. I can't say much for the trading aspect, but I really don't think many people care about that.

Fantastic experience: I bought an Xbox one 500gb and I took it home and went to play Forza horizon 5 and the disc drive didn't work. So 2 days later I went back to see if they could repair it. They said it was not fixable so they gave me a replacement console. I also have found other awesome things here too. Kaleb is an awesome employee here. Thank you GameXChange!

Fantastic experience: The 1 star reviews are comical. I've been coming to GameXChange since they came to Louisville, including this location. They ALWAYS explain the return policy. I don't sell games to them, but what do you expect? They are a business, not a collector. You want to sell toys, games or cards for book value, become a dealer and sell them yourself. Location is fully stocked. Everything from New gen games to Atari 2600 games. Cool posters. And even some vinyl.

Fantastic experience: I’m from out of town and this is the second Game X Change that I went to. This experience was much better than the other Game X Change store in town. Kaleb was very nice and attentive. He, unlike the man who helped me in the other store, did not leave while assisting me to talk with his coworker or help other customers. He helped me from start to finish and did not leave while checking me out at the register either. The prices here were also very reasonable. I luckily got the Dendenne I wanted from the gacha too! Very happy with this store and my purchase. Would definitely return here again and recommend if I ever came back to this area.

Fantastic experience: Good people but need more pawn shop type people that really Knowledge more about the things that people bring,and why does all the game exchance the people working there look like same looking type of people they all look like brothers and sisters,what sup with the Different cultures, spanish people speako they others day and the person dint under stand I jump and helped put different culture and stop saying we ain't taken Applications and start hiring people that will help you and bring you those other type people To the shop my offen

Fantastic experience: Dusted off the old Xbox 360 and wanted to play cod but I needed a controller, ran to game exchange and bought two used ones for $40(fair price imo) got home and neither worked, took them back and they were replaced with working ones in just a few minutes! Custom service was great and a unlimited number of games to shop for and the prices are pretty good.

Negative experience: I only stopped here because my dad offered to bring me to meet a new friend of his. There was nothing great or amazing about the place. IMO Gamestop does a better job and I don't even shop at GS, at least not very often. Everything was marked around current trending prices which isn't too bad. They don't have any kind of customer discounts so there is no reason to choose them over any other local store. The first question I asked the sales rep was if there were any customer discounts. The second was if they had non working/for parts consoles for sale. I was told that anything not working goes through a refurb center. Then while checking out nes games, I noticed that 95% of their stock was dirty (check the thumb tabs)

Negative experience: Payed dirt for my items, 9 dollars for $100 turtle Beach headset, $10 for a $70 ps5 controller almost new. Employees either act ignorant or they just are.
