Fantastic experience: These folks know customer service and have their store memorized! Great experience. And found guitar hero and ps2 to go with it!

Fantastic experience: Great shop that I had no idea existed. I saw a Facebook post about Pokemon cards being available here. Play2Win has a practice of putting their frequent flyers first by offering inventory at MSRP, which prevents scalpers from hogging the product. While I wasn't able to utilize that benefit, I can appreciate a business taking care of their customers to make sure they have inventory to offer. I bought two packs above MSRP to make sure their business is supported.

Fantastic experience: When I brought a GameCube that wouldn't read discs but they fixed it within 3 days as well as bought a PlayStation 2 which worked well

Fantastic experience: Went and seen my brother at play to win games and traded in some games that I got out of yard sale the other day for $5 and picked up some new games for my DS and 3DS collection Glad I got to come up and see y'all today brother one of the best stores around I will always take my business to them and send people that I know to them there's no other store around that can beat them they're the nicest people you will ever meet and their store is one of the nicest I've ever been in they literally have everything that you would want go see them if you ever looking for video games TCG cards or anything even custom systems or repairs for your systems they also give the most out of any store for used video games in TCG cards I know that for a fact because I've went to different stores and they give the most out of any of them Mark Spyro Spears Glad to have these in my collection the final fantasy DS game is still sealed Go see them I promise you you will not be disappointed these are the best people you will ever meet and they do you good they will not try to screw you here y'all can thank me later ❤️

Positive experience: Cool store and nice selection of old and new games,But like others have said about the prices. Yeah there pretty insane on most items. So really just depends on how bad you really want it.

Negative experience: Nice people, incredible looking store. The prices however are insane. I can absolutely understand bumping the price up alittle. Because of rent, employees and such. But, alot of these items are 50% to double the price that i see sold online. I saw a halo xbox they had. Looked good. 1500 seemed off to me. So, I looked up online and found one 500 bucks cheaper and the box looked better. No hate on the guys and the store. Just prices are the reason for the negative review

Fantastic experience: Great store with great games and gaming equipment, and an even greater staff. I came in with a game boy advance SP that needed repairs, they got it diagnosed and fixed within the hour. It was my first time and I was more than impressed with how big and clean the store was and how many games options they had. I really wish I found them before I bought anything online, because they have a much better selection and are very affordable.

Negative experience: I have never seen a store with such insane prices. Ive been collecting for years and I understand most gamestores have to up the price alittle bit. But, holy crap. Just buy your stuff on ebay. $20 games are priced at $40. Sient hill orgins is 160 he has it at 260. Everything in there is a insult. I can see why he has alot of inventory. No one who knows the market would spend money here. God. Please if you want to collect download the Price Charting app or Gameye. So stores like this dont rip you off.

Negative experience: I went in looking for used Switch games was very disappointed with prices. Tried to make conversation about games and hobbies but staff was rude and uninterested. Did end up buying a Switch Joy con but will shopping at other local stores from now on.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely stellar. Exactly the kind of retro game store I've been looking for! Bought a PlayStation 3 from them and it didnt work, but no problem because they happily exchanged it for a different model for me! The staff are all amazing people, and provide some of THE BEST customer service I've ever experienced! They've got shelves of PlayStation 3 games, Wii and Wii U games, and to my surprise some of my favorite things ever to have been created in the realm of gaming: SKYLANDERS!!!!! Their pricing is more than fair, and I mean it when I say that this is absolutely the store I'm gonna be getting all my retro games from!

Fantastic experience: Fair trade in value in my opinion. Impressive selection of cards and games. It seemed to be an asset to the community, as there were a lot of people in the tables section (I'm not sure if it was an event or they were just playing trading card games). Only criticism, despite the 5 star review: I saw at least three staff members, and none of them were overly friendly. Maybe they were overwhelmed by a busy Saturday (I get it l, I've worked with customers for 20 years myself). I won't let that deter me from giving them a second chance the next time I'm looking to trade some games in. Extra note: definitely made me excited to see a Simpsons arcade cabinet in the back!

Fantastic experience: I just recently decided to sell off some of my collection and I’ve been treated with the utmost respect when I started bringing in my pieces. Staff were very helpful and gave me the prices that I was looking for. Two thumbs up, way up!!!!! With one of my trades I ran into an issue with the console leaving scratches on the game i was attempting to play. Staff made it right by fixing the console and replacing the game. You guys know how to treat your customers right, keep up the phenomenal work!!

The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, their selection for the hobbies is vast and sorted, and the vibe is immaculate. Truly the most well put together store in the entire southeast, definitely recommend going for hobby collecting and locals playing!

Fantastic experience: My husband and I decided to visit this shop for the first time after we began our Pokemon collecting journey together just a few weeks ago. The employees were extremely patient, friendly, and knowledgeable showing us their collections and how to determine rarities for cards which was invaluable knowledge at least for myself. I made mention of a Pokemon I fell in love with which was Fidough and that I had been buying a few packs here and there hoping to pull it from a set. To my surprise they said they actually had the card and went to the back to retrieve it. We worked together looking on how pricing works for cards and made a deal. This was the first card I had ever bought individually and I am so excited to display it on my desk to admire it! All in all, I can’t wait to go back to this store. It was an extremely positive experience and the nostalgia the store has brought a lot of memories back to me as a 90s kid. I think we have found our new date night spot. Thank you again!

Negative experience: As a high end collector I don’t not recommend this store. Very rude staff, overpriced, and does not honor their own 30 warranty. They sold my daughter a broken DS Lite that they would not even test since the battery was dead while we was at the store but told us if there’s anything wrong with it that we can bring it back in 30 days. As soon as she got home and charged it up to play plants versus zombies, the top screen was full of pixelated lines. Try to swap for another and they refused.

Fantastic experience: Done a couple trade ins on pokemon cards here & both have been very easy experiences! Would definitely recommend for selling your collection, selling bulk, or even video games/consoles! Traded in my bulk pokemon today for 3 awesome cards I’ve been looking for! All priced fairly!

Positive experience: Great store and huge selection of sealed pokemon. Finding individual cards is hard though. As a visual learner myself, their online system for finding a card is just not it. Hard to find a specific card especially if you don’t know the name of the card or the number on the card. Not to mention the slab selection, great cards, but the prices are solely based off PSA even if the slab is CGC, AGS, or TAG. Found several slabs that were CGC at PSA prices that were well over $100+ difference.

They have a ton of old school arcade games, a guitar hero game with over 1,000 songs, tons of merchandise, and the coolest Gameboy advance I’ve ever seen! It’s super spacious inside too. Negative experience: All sales are final. You will not be told this in the store, and it is not printed on the receipt. I came here earlier today for the first time. I have a partner who collects retro games, and I wanted to get something for the collection. I am not an expert on pricing for these sorts of things, but the asking price for everything I saw was about 1.5-2x the price of the same items on ebay. When I found a game that looked okay for an okay price, I got an employee to open the glass case that contained the stacks of Super Nintendo games. The game was labeled that it would cost $60 on the top of the cartridge, the part that is visible while it is in the stack. When it was handed to me, the price on the front of the cartridge was $90. When I brought this to the attention of the employee, he just shrugged and said that he guessed someone else made a mistake. Then he peeled off the $60 sticker and asked if I still wanted it while he started to close the glass case. I bought the game because I wanted to be a good partner, despite the 50% increase in price. I checked out and brought it home, at which point I was informed that it was not needed for the collection, and to return it. So, after a few hours away, I passed back by the store with the game still in its packaging from before, with the receipts and everything, and asked to return it. I was informed by someone with apparent satisfaction that they did not accept returns for any reason other than a defect, and they would not accept the return. They said they did not want to "be like Blockbuster" where someone could come in, buy a game, play it for an hour, and then return it at full price. So I left. The inaccurate listed price gives me no assurance that literally any other visible price in the store is accurate, and subject to someone just saying "whoops" when you try to buy something, only to charge more at that second. I want to believe that was a fluke, but I have no way of knowing. And given how overpriced everything already is, it is hard to feel comfortable trusting anything you can see in the store. After looking at other reviews, I saw that another person had tried to return something, and the store had asserted that every receipt is clearly labeled that all sales are final and that customers are told at check out. My receipts have no such label, and I certainly was not told that by anyone at any point prior to my attempt to return their game. I really wanted to like this place. I want to support local businesses. The staff seemed friendly for the most part. But this place will be closed like Blockbuster if it keeps trying to squeeze every possible cent out of people while being undersold by people online on ebay and literally down the road at McKays.

Fantastic experience: Highly recommend this be your first stop if you're looking to buy, trade, or sell cards! I had a nice graded card that I couldn't get an offer for at another local game store and these guys were more than happy to help. They also have a wide selection of consoles, old and new and an abundance of games! Support this local shop and you won't regret it!

Fantastic experience: This was our first time visiting this location and the staff were very friendly and great. Very helpful and knowledgeable. My fiance had been in contact with the owner, Mark I believe a few days prior about a couple of games he wanted to sell. We drove over an hour with a box and bag full of games but only to realize the main games we were making the trip for in the first place we actually left behind at home with a few other things. The owner, Mark was super understanding. We learned they have another location in the shopping center that Elliott's boots used to be located in further down Western Avenue AND they have free video games you can play in store. We will be returning this week with the games and I strongly recommend ANYONE who loves video games new and vintage, Anime, game systems, different trading cards to definitely give them a visit. My fiance is a huge gaming nerd and he was in heaven

Negative experience: This place is CONSTANTLY overpricing their pokemon cards. You’ll see on tcg that a card is going for $3 and they will be selling it for $10. On top of that, the ONLY way to purchase cards is through ordering it on a computer in the store. It requires your email, phone number, address, all for them to just hand you the card. This shop is arguably the worst one in all of the knoxville and surrounding areas. It seems like such a good shop until you actually try and buy something. I wouldn’t recommend coming here unless you get off on being disappointed and scammed. This place would be better off shutting down, instead of scamming children and adults who are simply trying to play the game they enjoy. Absolute garbage store.

Fantastic experience: I was in tennessee for a week and decided to try this store, best decision of my life! Im from chicago and they had every game i have been looking for. It really is a hidden gem for older games and the staff I talked to while I was in there was amazing. I will continue to shop here

Fantastic experience: Great customer service and friendly staff. Back in the summer I had my thick ps2 repaired by play 2 win. They did a excellent job and had it finished i a few days, I also bought a ps2 game called seek and destroy online from gamestop it was really scratched up it looked beyond repair but after they resurfaced it, it looked brand new and played like new. Here's a before and after.

Fantastic experience: Aesthetic, clean, and organized store. Employees were very friendly and immediately greeted me upon walking in and offered assistance, he pointed me in the right direction of what I was looking for. Wonderful selection of retro games and consoles. I bought 5 wii games and they were reasonably priced, all of the games in absolute pristine condition with no scratches/smudges at all on the discs. Overall a great visit and the vibes were great. Can't wait to visit again.

Fantastic experience: If I could give these guys six stars, I would, cause that would show just how much these guys go above and beyond to be the best game store and console repair shop around. I came into this store one day with a massive cardboard box full of dirty and damaged consoles, and I gave them a ton of work to do. They were super positive and friendly to me, helped me through all the paperwork I had to fill out, and then proceeded to call me with occasional updates to let me know how everything was coming along. They even did a few things extra that I didn't ask for but really appreciated. I asked them to replace my Switch joycons' drifty sticks. They instead upgraded them to more durable hall effect sticks with removable tops for the same price, and provided me multiple sticks of different colors. And that's just their repair services. I haven't even talked about the shop itself. They have amazing stock and super friendly service full of people who are both kind and knowledgeable. They have a ton of amazing games and consoles, both modern and retro, all tested in house and guaranteed to work. Their prices may be a bit up there, but you are paying for top quality every time. Anything you buy here is certain to be in about as good of condition as it can possibly be. If you're looking for games or consoles, new and old, or you need a console or game disc repaired, these guys are the only people you're ever gonna need to go to.

Negative experience: Extremely strange store -- I went to sell some Pokemon cards and even tho there were four people on staff standing around the grey haired guy behind the counter told me that he could not look through them because that would be "doing my job for me" LOL -- and that since I did not go through all the cards and find their worth beforehand they were considered bulk. A really heavy handed way to try and rip me off. Any other store in town could easily handle this. I am used to dealing with stores who have the expertise to figure out what cards are worth without relying on me. So be sure and "Do your job" before you come to this store. ;D Otherwise you are gonna get bulk prices which is nothing.

Negative experience: Prices in here are crazy. Go to CM games and price match. You'll save a solid 50% CM has Ape escape for $25-30 Pay 2 Win is practically scalping with their $70 pricing for the same game. Employees are chill though.

Fantastic experience: Nice selection of retro games, including a selection of collectible items (at collectible prices). Free arcade machines inside as well as a gaming area in the back. Nice game related decorations, station for searching inventory and online references, knowledgeable staff, and large display cases of games to purchase.

Fantastic experience: Hidden gem of Knoxville. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but the inside is absolutely packed with the best selection of retro games I've seen in this city. They have a lot of good TCG stuff as well. a Although not as much as dedicated trading card stores, it's still impressive for what seems to be mainly a retro game spot. I also really appreciate how they have a free arcade in the store. Great spot to come and play a few rounds of Guitar Hero or retro arcade cabinets.

Realistically, it’s just CM Games and McKay’s. There are no other notable options nearby. People often compare prices to McKay’s, which, while affordable, primarily carries mediocre, lower-tier, or shovelware inventory. Negative experience: Ive never been more disappointed. my partner was trying to find animal crossing on the game cube for me. We are visiting town and thought we could find a copy here because no other place was carrying it. From what i knew the market price was 50 without manual, 60 with manual, and with memory card 100. When we called they told us it would be 50 without the manual and could go up to 100 based off what it comes with which was great! We go in and immediately dissapointed... it was 50 for a reprinted cover and no manual (it looks faded and sad) and then it quickly jumped up to 90 for one WITHOUT THE MANUAL. and then 100 with the manual... they had almost 10 copies of this game, it seems like they cant let go of it. This is almost double the market price. I could not justify paying for a product when i knew i could get it somewhere cheaper. It almost feels like they are trying to take advantage of people who enjoy the hobby. I just wanted a nice copy to put on my shelf and play, and i dont have high expectations.i was looking forward to coming here my entire trip :/

Negative experience: This place does not care about the local community or retro games as a whole. I understand trying to keep a local buisness going can be hard but this is outrageous when there is literally another store down the street selling some of these games for half the price if not more and those prices are already sitting 10% over market value. This place has given me the most visceral gut reaction to price gouging I have ever had lol I can't believe what I've seen. Do not waste your money here, just head on ebay or buy what you find at McKays but this place does not have the right to drain the money out of people who are just trying to enjoy history.

Positive experience: The store itself has a diverse selection. The staff has always been very friendly to me any time I have visited. They make sure their products are fully tested and cleaned before being put out on the shelf which I greatly appreciate. I can’t give a 5-star rating due to the prices. I fully understand this is a business and the most important part is making the money to keep the bills paid. With that said, some (not all) of their items are drastically overpriced compared to average market value. Again, I get it, and have even bought some items for higher price than average due the convenience of finding some cool things here. That circles back to their vast selection of items and things you hardly see in game stores in the area, which I want to make sure is highlighted. Overall, this store is a very welcome addition to the Knoxville area!

Negative experience: I’ve been there a couple of times already to check out the games and don’t get me wrong, This place was nice but recently I went in there to look for a super Nintendo game and one of your employees was completely uninterested on helping out or show the slightest Good customer service. All he did was sit there eating his food in front of me and pointed at all the super Nintendo games you guys had and nothing else, he could have came around the counter to help look for it or go in the back to look on the computer, hell whatever other way you guys can look up games (just to double check) for common courtesy, and I get it, It can be slow and boring with nothing to do at the time, but when you have customers there, That guy needs to learn to have 100% attention towards his customers and to be nice, He came off as very, very rude, He had long gray hair, and had it in a ponytail, so yeah you guys seriously need to talk to some of your employees about better customer service…. I won’t be coming back because of this you lost a customer

Negative experience: This place is definitely as Dominic Marino describes. They also seem to not indicate how much they pay in sales taxes on all their receipts given. That is a redflag. Do not buy from them as it is incredibly hard to get support.

Fantastic experience: Fair prices for most items. I understand brick and mortar stores won’t always have the best pricing due to overhead costs. My wife and I bought a Japanese N64 here that works perfectly. Staff are very knowledgeable when it comes to games and console modding and they have a massive selection to choose from, as well as some relatively rare systems. My wish is that the Neo Geo cabinet comes back at some point.

Fantastic experience: Great retro game store!

Negative experience: Terrible customer service. Bought an N64 accessory that was marked up 70% more than eBay. I asked if they'd come down at all and was straight up told no without any explanation. The guy was just a jerk. They also don't tell you all sales are final before purchasing. They'll just say, if it doesn't work bring it back. So nothing is returnable if you buy something you ended up not needing. They really don't care about their customer and this place outright over prices everything in order to make money probably due to not enough traffic and the struggle to make money. I wonder why lol. I won't be shopping here anymore.
