Positive experience: I think we can all agree GameStop has taken steps make their customers feel less like they are getting fleeced. The past year of shopping here more, and I'm more impressed with every visit. The staff is very friendly and super knowledgeable. The level of organization and welcoming Atmosphere at this location is something all GameStop branches should strive for. I went from mostly shopping online to finding reasons to go to this side of town; just to stop in this GameStop. They also keep their trading card inventory fairly accurate online, and that saves me time and fuel.

The stock of Pokémon cards was fully stocked, neatly organized, and very presentable. At some GameStops, you’ll only see one or two sleeved booster packs hanging on the wall — but not here! You can really tell the employees take pride in their work. Everything was clean, organized, and well-stocked. Great customer service and a great experience overall. Louisiana is a good state, a beautiful country place, and very friendly to visit. It’s a nice place to travel, especially if you enjoy cooler weather and a welcoming atmosphere.

Negative experience: Idk who I just talked to on the phone but before I could even say “hi, how are you”, the line hung up. I call back and say “you hung up on me before I could say anything”, he replied “ I said hello like three times and nobody said anything so I hung up-“…. That did not happen . He said hello once and as I was replying, the line ended. His tone was incredibly hostile and quickly disregarded me by saying that it’s busy and he doesn’t have time. I replied that he sounded quite hostile and instead of apologizing, he continued deflecting with how busy they are and asked what I wanted……. Even after telling him his tone was quite hostile and rude, he continued being a jerk and being very short with me. I would love a reply from a manager to speak about this associate

Negative experience: Tried to stop by after work one evening and they were closed almost 20 minutes before their listed closing time.

Negative experience: Don’t know what happened to the quality managers all the Lafayette stores had for YEARS but they need to come back and train all these newbies BECAUSE THE QUALITY of management is non-existent.

Negative experience: I called this location and they told me that they would accept both of my consoles. Got there and the guy at the register (Bryan) was super rude and inpatient with the person in front of us because they were using a gift card. Then we get to the register and the cashier instantly is frustrated with us because I didn’t wipe down the screen of one of my consoles (which was not bad at all) and I told him that at least I cleared the console and reset it and he made the comment “oh so make me clean it” and then sees the other console that they told me on the phone they accepted and said “we don’t accept that one.” okay fine. Then rudely tells me to take my console games out of the case myself because they don’t take the cases and watched me take the games out instead of helping or being nice about it. Then the console didn’t turn on, I informed him that I charged it three days ago and it must’ve died. He said “oh that’s not a good sign” and then plugged it in and it turned on right away. He never told us how much he was offering us, had us sign and said here’s $80.50 and that was it. The amount of disrespect this man showed myself and in front of my child was unnecessary. Definitely never going back again, because of this Gamestop has lost my business.

Negative experience: This Store is TRASH. I never give reviews, but the subject came up. A few months ago I went to this store to buy a used PS4, I have a PS5 but their are certain games I still play on PS4, I got home and the PlayStation was basically doing the same thing I need to purchase another (the Blue Ray drive didn't recognize the disc) So I had to drive all the way over there go thru all the motions,waste another hr and a half, to get another machine. I get home and this console has issues. The controllers don't turn off unless I'm practically touching the console. So this tells me THIS STORE DOES NOT REALLY GO THROUGH THE CONSOLES BEFORE RESELLING THEM. Im going downt to waste my time again. I fact I canceled my membership with I've had for almost 20+ yrs and will NEVER DO business with game stop again. I took the console out back put a Pyle of black powder on it and shot it with a flaming arrow from my bow. Sent it where it belongs. (To say the less I was pissed ) I eventually bought another used console from Play n Trade and I've had no problems what so ever. I collect old consoles from Master System to Neo Geo..I used to work for EA back in California. Play N Trade has just a better vibe, the offer more services ,I e repairs ect, the also have a small Japanese import section witch I grabbed a few cartridges for my Genesis. How this company is still around is beyond my knowledge, but I do have to say thanx to the wonderful associates at this store for pushing me to a better place to spend money on shit I don't need because I have nothing else better to do.

Fantastic experience: Definitely alot more polite thn the new iberia location. The stock of Pokémon cards was kept fully stocked and more presentable. Some gamestops will have 1 or 2 sleeved booster packs on the wall. This one you can tell the employees arnt lazy and kept stuff stocked and neat.

Positive experience: This is a smaller GameStop location. I didn't go in for video game stuff, but for action figures and collectibles, so my review is skewed in that direction. There is not much in the way of collectible inventory here, and what is there is marked up pretty high. There are larger locations that have a much better inventory, so there are better options. YMMV

Negative experience: Gamestop is no longer the place I use to love to buy my games. Quality and service is horrible. Now you can't even pick up your pre orders at 9pm anymore because they now close at 8pm and don't open till 12 the next day. Not sure how they will stay in business any longer if they incentive ppl to buy their games digital so they can play it early like everyone else. Gamestop corporate or whoever is in charge is throwing the company to the ground

Negative experience: Literally waited an hour bc online times said they opened at 10am got here at 11. Waited until 12 and it’s still not opened. Watched the worker go in at 11 I’m not understanding why they are opening late

Positive experience: Didn't find anything I was looking for and this location is so small. (IS it smaller than other GameStops?) I was looking for a specific Funko Pop! and it seemed like their stock was kind of outdated and repetitive. I browsed the shelves for fifteen minutes before a sales associate even spoke to me. I prefer driving to Opelousas' GameStop. Better selections and more room to move around. Plus, sales staff is much more polite. Probably won't return to this location unless I've ordered something online to pickup at store. #choices
