Negative experience: I am writing to express my strong dissatisfaction regarding a recent customer service interaction at one of your retail locations on Monday, October 16, 2023.My initial experience was positive. On Friday, October 13, 2023, I visited the store to pre-order $Mw3$. While completing that transaction, the cashier professionally informed me about a current sale on Xbox controllers and courteously presented several color options (specifically yellow and blue). This positive interaction prompted me to return to the store with the intent of purchasing two controllers. Upon my return on October 16th, I was assisted by a different cashier. When I indicated my interest in the controllers, I noticed additional colors available and asked the cashier if I could view them before making my selection. The employee responded by stating that she could not show me the controllers and that I was expected to "just pick and pay."While she did eventually take a controller out of the packaging for a brief demonstration, her initial refusal to allow me to view the product options was highly unprofessional and inconsistent with standard retail practice. A customer should be permitted to examine an item, especially one with multiple color variants, before committing to a purchase.Due to this significantly poor level of customer service, I chose to leave the store without making the intended purchase. Such an approach risks alienating loyal customers and ultimately results in lost sales. I recommend reviewing your customer service training protocols to ensure all employees maintain a consistent, professional standard that prioritizes a positive shopping experience. I appreciate your attention to this matter and hope for a resolution that improves the customer experience at this location.

Negative experience: I would like to express my dissatisfaction with the service I received from the cashier. Unfortunately, their attitude did not reflect good customer service. They were not courteous and showed no willingness to help, which negatively affected my experience.

Negative experience: Was denied a purchase because they wanted to put inventory to the side for their employees. Megan did not take care of or ratify the situation, I asked for a discount for the 2nd time Im having to drive there she declined, I arrive at the store to be told they shipped the system, time money and gas was wasted because greedy GameStop wants to prioritize employees over customers.

Fantastic experience: Alec was super helpful with getting us the info we needed today. GameStop your return policy is Bullshit.

Negative experience: Sold my Nintendo that pre ordered .. terrible customer service from some guy on the phone.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely fantastic employees behind the counter! They handle the lines and questions nicely and personable - definitely a great location and also good amount of Pokemon cards in stock too

Negative experience: You ever walk into a location and you’re the only customer and 3 employees behind the counter who don’t even greet you or say a single word to you. Yup that’s what happend at this location literally just walked out the door and wrote this review.

Fantastic experience: Alec and Veronica are super friendly. Greeted me at the door and gave me the insite of pre orders and upcoming tcg. Thanks guys !

Negative experience: No sports trading cards. More like a store where you drop your kids off and have lunch outside with the local homeless tss

Fantastic experience: Immediately greeted when I entered. Alec was very nice and helped me with everything I needed and made some suggestions that helped me decide on a new switch. The new system that you can use to look up products yourself at the front desk was helpful when looking for new Funko pops to preorder. Very happy with my purchases.

Negative experience: I don't know what happened to this location. It used to be the best one in San Diego. But now, it's the worst customer service experience I've ever had. And I'm used to employees not giving a damn about the company but these two kids the other day were griping so bad about the company. Pedro discriminated against me and my wife because of our last names. I was shocked at the treatment, talk about a kid who hates his own life and takes it out on customers. I will likely not visit this location again. As the whole experience left us feeling like we should spend our money somewhere else. If Pedro sees this review, you earned it. Go find something you enjoy and stop stealing dude.

Negative experience: Trying to get a manager to help you with a simple refund is taking 6 weeks! Horrible!

Fantastic experience: I have been to many Game Stops but never felt the need to leave a review behind but I have to say this one was deserving. Wayne was very knowledgeable, nice and efficient. He answered every question without hesitation and took his time to help me out throughout the store and the transaction. I would come back to this store just because how clean and organized it was and the excellent customer service!

Fantastic experience: Stopped into GameStop today to get some Nintendo Switch games for young nephews. Neatly organized store with plenty of selection. Jeremy was the associate in the store and he was outgoing and friendly as we entered. He was helpful in pointing out where we could find what we were looking for and was efficient in checking us out. He treated all customers we saw with kindness and respect.

Negative experience: Over priced. Won’t be coming back, this location says they don’t price match Pokémon cards. Other gamestops price match.

Fantastic experience: The girls that helped me were super cool and helped me get my new switch. But get this it’s a Pokémon switch I would not know that version existed until I was informed by the super smart workers. Traded in stuff and got Nintendo card and renewed my membership glad I choose to come to this GameStop.

Fantastic experience: This store is awesome! The staff here is friggin awesome and always wanting to help you find what you're looking for and come in with a save with their recommendations if you are not sure about a game or merchandise.

Negative experience: Don't come here. They have you drive all the way here and then don't have what they said they have.

Positive experience: Meh, they don't have a ton of selections, the clerks are pretty cool but you'll do better online than going into this store, prices aren't making a big case to help them either, you might as well get it from a online vendor cause you'll still come out of pocket pretty deep unless they have it used and even then only a few bucks

Negative experience: Late review, but well deserved. Quick and to the point: I purchased a ps4 VR set from GameSpot online, they were under the "console" category. Consoles have a return policy up to however many days. I thought no harm no foul because if I get motion sickness, as some people do with VR, ill just return it. So, I end up trying to return in, the people at this store tell me I can't besides consoles having a return policy in which I was in the time frame, but apparently PS4 VR wasn't a console, despite in being in the console section. They didn't let me return it. Lost $$ because they find quick ways to scam people.

Negative experience: Won't be shopping here they don't know how to handle a warranty swap for my limited edition console can't explain themselves correctly witch caused me to come here 3 times witch 2 were on the same day tried giving me a refurbished console for console I bought brand new even thu they,called there district manager witch said the same idea to give me a refurbished console i went to mission valley GameStop explain my situation about my console they took care of me in 5 mins they swapped it for a new console not refurbished And yes I know you get a black console in exchange for your limited edition

Negative experience: I'm not sure of many things, but what I am sure of is that in the seventh layer of hell GameStop's on-hold music is played on repeat. I called just to ask a simple question, the phone picked up and asked if I could be put on hold. I wouldn't have obliged had I known the torture that was to come. In case anyone else wants to go through this trauma let me known if they have any GameCube Nintendo switch controllers, since I clearly wasn't able to find out.

I stopped in here because I need to check on the price of a new PS4 I went to Best buy yesterday and it seems a bit pricey so I wanted to get the competitions price. For the PS4 slim it was 250 on sale for the pro it was a hundred bucks or so. So very similar and price range give or take about 20-30 bucks the salesperson really helpful really knowledgeable which is always a good thing when you go into a niche store looking for information about consoles and games. if it wasn't so far away from where I live I might go in there on a regular basis just to see how will I mess with the sales staff. nothing better than to find out that you really do get along with a staff and a GameStop really well it makes the buying experience so much easier.

Negative experience: My husband was here November, he has just finished some of his military training and had 2 hours to spare so he walked around and stopped here. He bought 2 games and left. Months later (today) he was going through them. He has a lot of new games and not enough time due to training and stuff. He opend the 2 games he got here and the cases are empty. He hasn't touched them since he bought them

There isn't an abundance of pressure to buy products, which is lovely, but they let you know what's available and what things are like. This is my favorite GameStop to visit, I highly recommend it.

Negative experience: I don’t look like the average customer who hangs out in GameStop’s but when I pick up over $80.00 worth of games & continue to shop for more items that as I explained to the manager we’re gifts for my son who just graduated from Marine Corps boot camp he continued to ask me “Is that all ya need?” One thing I notice is; NEW GAMES $39.xx SELL A GAME TO GAME STOP for $10-15.00 USED GAMES $37.xx Seems like they are screwing our kids out of their parents money in MY opinion. So we sell them on eBay. I refuse to let them have anymore of my money. Freaking predators.

I just wish he understood it is annoying for us to have to wait for his social opportunity. All in all they've been a good game shop over the years. Though on this recent trip they did not have what we wanted when we came in. But then when we ordered the game through their website it magically appeared. Hmmm. Weird.
