Fantastic experience: I try to stay away from Gamestop at all costs. That being said, Rashi at Montclair Gamestop provided beyond exceptional service. This location will now be my go-to for gaming stuff because of him. Thank you Rashi!!

Negative experience: I own a Nintendo switch.I went into the store today and came out very dissatisfied with what an employee said to me.I wanted to purchase a joy con but I first had to know if it was the joy con or the console that was giving me trouble which is why I needed to do a quick test by playing a game with one of their used joycons because mine doesn’t seem to stay in place.This man name was JJ, He told me that he couldn’t take any of his USED joy cons out of the package for me to use on my console to test whether or not it would work The problem I was having was that the joy con would at some time or another would disconnect while I’m playing and for JJ it was a problem for me to test one out before I buy it he basically was saying to me, you gotta buy it first so if I bought it and it didn’t work, and it was really the console, then what? I believe you guys know the answer to that.I can’t stand people that are not tactful or helpful when dealing with customers and I hate giving my money to people like him because that is the closest GameStop in my community and I’m not certain if JJ is his real name but it’s the name he gave me but it was about 3:05 when I went in the store I’ve meet people I’ve meet people that offered to help me with a problem like this one before which is why it created so much confusion for me Now either they do it at their discretion or he just didn’t wanna do it and you think I wanna give my money to somebody like him like I said it’s the closest GameStop to me in my community but I’ll be glad the day he’s no longer working there

Negative experience: I went in today to trade in my all games on a PS5. Dude behind the counter had his buddy on speakerphone. Talk to you about people's anatomy. I took my stuff and left. Good luck Hood!

Fantastic experience: Knowledge and friendly staff as well as clean and organized store! In the market to upgrade consoles and was very satisfied with the recommendations I received! Shoutout to the Eastwood location staff! Definitely recommended and will be coming back for gaming and collectable needs!

Negative experience: Woke up for the midnight release of Zelda (which the GameStop employee told me about, I wasn’t aware) only to arrive to find not a single sole there. They could’ve at least left a note or something

Fantastic experience: Isaac was a very considerate, professional and apologetic employee when it came to the situation with my GameStop online purchase gone wrong. He reserved the copy of a game a wanted (PS4) and was able to trade it for the version I got in the mail from Texas (Nintendo Switch). I’m very much a happy customer and will visit again in the future.

Fantastic experience: Mia is outstanding! My son has been looking forward to getting MonsterHunter Rise for months. He worked hard to earn the money to preorder and purchase it himself. He was so devistated today when it turned out the deliveries had been delayed. The the game hadn't arrived at the Gamestop that we had reserved the game at. He was so disheartened!! I tried calling other locations and thankfully Mia at Montclair had a few extra copies that came in! We hurried over and she helped us get the game for my little dude there. She was very kind and helpful while we were transfering the purchase and moreover just darn nice! YOU MADE HIS DAY!!YOU ARE A HERO!!THANKYOU SO MUCH FOR ALL YOUR HELP!!

Negative experience: I visited the store today and purchase a preowned ps4 controller. My son tested the controller out and stated the button didn’t work. I attempted to return the controller a few hours later and the store associate James Bishop stated that is not the same controller he sold me and was giving me a hard time for a refund. He stated the controller had scratches on it and I’m like yes its preowned. I asked for a manager waited for 10-15 mins in store. I felt I was treated unfairly and was racial profiled. Because who would swap another controller to get a refund? The manager Alyssa was rude af and she corrected the associate but he still was giving poor customer service stating it doesn't look like the original controller. I felt my customer service wasn’t appreciated and I never been treated this way before .I normally don’t write reviews but this situation was so disturbing that I felt I had to.

Negative experience: Went here today with my husband to buy a video game. The sales associate did not greet us. When we asked they had a game in stock he was not helpful at all. Needless to say we didn’t make a purchase and went to Walmart and the game was actually cheaper there. I have no plans of visiting this location again.

Negative experience: Had a preorder for a game and wasn't sure if there was a midnight release so I called the store and asked about it. I was told that yes, they were having a midnight release. Just to be sure I asked "ok, so midnight tonight" and was answered with "yep." Lo and behold midnight rolls around and I pull up to the store with an empty parking lot save two employees cars. I wait at the door and they come to tell me "we're done. It was at 11 so it was midnight eastern. It'll be here for you at 10 when we open." I will NEVER EVER preorder a game from Gamestop again. This kind of trash is one of the many reasons Gamestop is failing.

Negative experience: Stopped by for a couple new nintendo switch games. The prices for pre-owned games is a bit much considering how much they pay for them and how much the same game goes for online, but still, that's the employees fault and they do offer warranties on some games. I was very displeased when we got home after a 45 minute commute to find that one of the games wasn't put in the case so now I have to waste time on a second trip that I shouldn't have to make. And of course no one answered the phone when I called, we'll see how this works out.

Negative experience: Bought a game that included an additional game download. Seemed like a good deal. Once I got home, I found out that the digital download had already been used and I couldn't get the game. I would not have even bought the game if not for the digital download because I wanted that game more than the game on disc. Now I'm basically stuck with a game that I don't want that cost me $30.
