Fantastic experience: Good selection and great staff we have always had a good time looking at all the things when we go.

Fantastic experience: I love coming in here all the time! The staff are so fun and make you feel so welcomed! The staff are very knowledgeable, especially Wyatt and Timmy! They know cards so well and even taught me how to price my own cards accurately at home. Tahj was so honest and communitive during my trade-ins as well! The store looks so much better than it has in the past few years too! I love it here!

Negative experience: Employees are TERRIBLE! You wait forever for anyone to even speak to you or help you while they are all just on their phones. They will argue with you for stuff that is their own fault and the buy back is a joke. Timmy specifically is awful, talks to you like you are a child and acts like he knows everything. He told me once a card was worth $50 and would have to charge me more, I ended up not getting the card, went home and looked up the card and it was literally $0.50…

Negative experience: To say it as kindly as possible, this is a place I'd love to have continued coming to weekly like I once did for movies & games.. However I do not come here at all anymore on account of the consistent unprofessionalism of the staff.

Fantastic experience: Bought some vintage audio equipment, they let me BOGO on the speakers and when the tuner didn't work they let me swap it out later for free! Excellent service and very professional.

Fantastic experience: It is around the holidays and each and every employee accommodated me and answered all of my last minute wuestions! I will be visiting again and recommending to my friends and family!

Negative experience: Game doesn’t even work

Negative experience: Waited inside the store for about 15 minutes (I was the only customer in there) and neither employee seemed to notice me. One employee ducked behind the counter and i’m assuming sat there until I left, while the other one was vaping and playing on their phone. After some time, the employee who was on their phone noticed me and helped me, but the prices were abnormally high (above MSRP by a fair amount). I’ve shopped here a few times, and I have had good experiences. This is just super disappointing and upsetting as a customer who enjoys your store.

Negative experience: I usually enjoy this store, but they have no indication outside that this is a pet-friendly establishment. I was inside minding my own business when a man and his dog walked in. It clearly wasn't a service dog, either. It kept tugging at its leash to come near me, and wasn't even with the handler. I have trauma with dogs and found it very uncomfortable, but the worst was when the man decided to let her out from behind the counter unleashed! I took off outside despite not being done shopping. I expect dogs in a PetSmart, but seriously, a game shop? Just not very professional.

Negative experience: This store is okay. Nothing too rare but some okay titles for both games and movies. I’ve done business here a couple of times and both times have been okay. Picked up a few games each time but this last time kind of disappointed me. Two of the gameboy color and advanced games that I purchased didn’t work when I got home(2 and a half hours away). Tried cleaning them among other things to no avail. Sadly, the only way for me to rectify the situation is to dive 5 hours round trip for store credit. They didn’t have any consoles to test the games beforehand so I think that’s something that needs to be addressed. I do like coming here but I’ll just have to remember to keep some handhelds in the car to make sure games work before purchasing. Games are also on the pricier side. Some marked up pretty high for heavily used and worn games/cases. Plus the trade in credit isn’t really worth it. If prices can be adjusted based on condition and games tested, this places would get 5 stars.

Negative experience: Do not go here whatsoever. From selling stuff marked up over 100% MRSP to only offering 150$ cash for a brand new 2024 MacBook Air. I will never bring my business back. A good ole BBB report is inbound to.

Negative experience: Tall white male renamed the cards from magic to pokemon to upcharge me. Shady employees trying to take advantage when they can.

Negative experience: The customer service here is HORRIBLE!!! One guy was on his phone and the other one was just standing there next to him doing nothing. The employees just stand behind the counter and ignore you. Their merchandise is WAY overpriced. There are much better options in the area for items.

Negative experience: Ginger guy got suspicious of me for no reason and put my purchase behind the counter until I paid for it. Was also really rude to my friend

Fantastic experience: Was looking for blue ray and found hundreds. My daughter wanted to watch movies while we were on a roadtrip. Could not find any blue ray. Then i went here. SUPRISE! HUNDREDS THANKS FOR BEING OLDSCHOOL A LITTLE

Positive experience: Great & Friendly Customer Service. Lots of things to choose from. Huge store. However, they didn't have any micro sd cards for the Nintendo Switch. And I'm not sure if they offer/give a Military/Veteran Discount!

Fantastic experience: It's like walking into the past

Negative experience: Worst experience ever!!! Sold me a PS5 pro and helped me pick out disc for it knowing it's digital made a 900.00 purchase to come home and discover it does not take disk. They were out of PS5 so I asked to return PS5 for a PS4 pro and receive refund for balance of 500.00 was told no only store credit when I just purchased 10 minutes ago and employee did not advise me it was digital and even helped pick disk games. Ended up using store credit just to have to buy my own HDMI cord game cuts off on its own and the beats headphones I got on store credit does not work. Will new shop here ever again!!!!

Negative experience: Store has a great selection of comics and DVDs, but the Customer service SUCKS !. I stood at the counter for 15 minutes while the dude with the glasses and dreads, named Taj, completely ignored me and took care of a customer behind me. It took another 3 minutes before he finally asked me if I was being help. No customer service skills at all

Negative experience: I understand a local game store charging a little more over MSRP. The fact that a franchised game store is gouging 150%+ over MSRP is ridiculous. Not to mention the 20% market value they offer when cashing or trading in. But expect customers to pay for heavily played items for near mint prices. Do better.

Fantastic experience: This is a really cool little store with a wide selection of fun things to buy and look at. They usually have pretty good deals on their old video games, and they have collectibles as well, such as card games at a competitive price.

Fantastic experience: So coming from a marketing prospective this place has alot of potential to expand. Lots of games and toys to chose from wonderful staff. I would love to discuss with the owner how to better market the store. But I love the store.

Negative experience: Bought a sega dreamcast , got it home the console was dirty and would not power on, call in ask for a return was told as is no warranty.

Negative experience: I would say unaccomodating at best. I wasn’t greeted upon entrance but I guess that’s not the end of the world. Stayed bent in front of the Nintendo switch joycon display several minutes before a girl finally walked over from doing nothing and asked what I needed. I wouldn’t say she was rude but definitely not bubbly and I felt like it was a burden to ask to see the used joycons. My biggest problem was that I tried to make a $60 purchase using a $50 vanilla gift card and $10 cash and she said it couldn’t be done. I’ve worked with several point of sale systems and feel there’s always a way to work around them to allow the customer to make the purchase. Nothing to keep me from returning but definitely feel customer service could use some improvement.

Positive experience: I enjoy coming here! The staff are nice, and there's a lot of memorabilia to work through. I wish the Pops weren't stacked behind other pops. But they have a large stock, so it makes sense.

Negative experience: Staff seems to have own agenda. Dosent care for the customers. One was on phone for the entire time I was in the store. While the line piled up the other employee simply sat on a laptop. Received several games that would not read and when I returned to exchange them the employee helping me vanished. Was also given the wrong game in a case then was put on hold for 22 minutes. Only 2 stars instead of one because of the wild selection the store has. I would recommend going to the one in auburn or even retro game planet in prattville

Fantastic experience: Best customer service!!

Positive experience: Great selection of games and consoles that are always changing, it keeps me coming in every week or two to see what's new. Prices can be hit or miss but I've found some amazing deals. Great shop for collectors and retro gamers. BE AWARE: They DO sell reproduction/bootleg cartridges and do not allow you to open them up to check the boards. Generally the reproductions will be priced accordingly but some do slip through the cracks. I would avoid buying any valuable Game Boy games, especially Pokemon. Edit as of 08/23: The last five times I have been to this location I got to the counter with a stack of games to buy and the staff were unable to find nearly half of them. Not sure if there's a theft issue or an inventory tracking error but it is an unpleasant customer experience.

Negative experience: You'd be better off keeping your toys or whatever it is that you think you want to sell to game exchange because they give you pennies!!

Negative experience: Was about to buy tons of cards, apparently the staff don't understand that a BOOSTER box goes with the structure decks that they sell.

Positive experience: This place is a nostalgic amusement park of the games of my childhood. The employees are nice, though they aren't from the generation of games they are selling (hats off to them for knowing about games that came out before they were born). Also the price for vintage games and consoles is fair, it seems competitive with items on eBay, just without the added shipping. This place is not perfect. My only complaint is that non game related items (laptops, tablets, etc) are way overpriced for their condition. For example, a very beat up laptop with no charger and low specs going for $100 is a bit expensive considering a laptop of the same quality would sell on eBay for no more than $20-$30 plus shipping. That said, I've read some of the other reviews complaining about customer service; I did not experience that and I can only speak to what I saw for myself. Employees were nice and helpful, and again, knew their stuff.

Negative experience: Did you come here to buy games? Good luck. You'll spend about 15 minutes standing at the register while the employees look around for it just to tell you they don't have it. Never been able to actually buy a game here because they can never find it, or it doesn't work and I have to return it.

Negative experience: Great stock,lots of really cool retro games and collectibles. One issue I have. The staff, I stood in line and was passed over 5 or 6 times and finally had to ask if someone could help me. The person helping then was so awkward I felt a total lack of communication. Í then stood there as he wasted time doing anything but helping me taking far too long to check out my Sega and in the end I left there aggravated and would rather check to see what they may offer online. Sales clerks should have some sort of people skills. This was almost painful. Maybe hire one adult.

Negative experience: My family experienced very rude behavior by the staff and so called District Manager on site. When the inappropriate behavior was brought to his attention he did not apologize he just said he would handle it. When we called to ask for a regular manager we were told there wasn’t one. Okay cool but the District Manager got nasty and dismissive about the racist Karen behavior in his store and then decided to make excuses. It’s not okay to give a black customer money on the counter because you don’t want to touch them. We live in the South, that’s not okay. But whatever we are use to people like that. Then they wanted to use the excuse the lady was Autistic and that he walked up aggressively. That’s funny when he comes in all the time and is always joking and playing with the staff. If you roll the tape back it will show. And she wasn’t Autistic before huh? And if Autism was the original excuse why did the excuse change to he walked aggressively. (A big black man who just had surgery on his spine walked aggressively?? How??) So then the DM goes on to try to use Jesus in the mix. (Really) WWJD? Jesus would check you with a parable that’s what. The DM is rude and that’s not how customer service works. The man who they were rude to has a serious heart condition but has a big giving heart. Why bother him? He normally lets stuff like this slide but I do not. Sorry not sorry. I’m a community activist and a NATIONAL public speaker for a reason. He loves his video games and Funko pops He loves going to these stores and builds a report in every store he buys from and he even gets others to buy too. This type of behavior is not ok. The managers job is to handle complaints with sympathy, empathy, and understanding. He was none of those things. No apology was given and no care in the world was shown. As a black person with a special needs child, I’m am overwhelmed by all that was said and done wrong by this manager and employee. Teach your managers and employees to respond to customer complaints, this was a what not to do. It doesn’t matter if you agree or not.

Negative experience: Place is extremely unorganized, when purchasing games or movies they are unable to find the discs, even if there are multiple boxes on the shelves. This has happened multiple times, management needs to retrain these employees and step up. I love this store but hate coming in here just for half of the things I want to purchase to be turned around because they don't want to go through the multiple drawers of unorganized discs.

Negative experience: They sold us a broken Xbox that they would not refund due to “store policy” so we exchanged it for a working one that had not even been factory reset. Got home just to Realize they sold us a broken guitar that they refused to refund (see above) and would only offer store credit. The guys working don’t know half of what they are trying to sell. We will not be wasting our time here, there is a better store in Prattville

Positive experience: Wide selection of games and collectables, but service was super slow. We ended up walking out, unfortunately.

So i put everything back where it went and left. Terrible just terrible employees…also what was with everything just thrown everywhere. Please save alot of time and frustration by going to another better store in the area.

Fantastic experience: Pretty cool store. I stopped in here on the hunt for an old Xbox game I’ve been looking for for a while and the manager, Will, was super friendly and helpful. He searched the store with me and we found it! He even verified to make sure the game was in functioning condition for me before checking out.

Fantastic experience: Went down looking for Red Dead Revolver, one of the staff named Will helped me look for the game and even said he would keep an eye out for it if it came in.

Fantastic experience: I received the most helpful, and efficient help today from the manager Will onsite today. He was very knowledgeable, and well mannered when assisting me. I will be referring plenty of my friends to him.

Fantastic experience: We were driving through Montgomery and looking for someplace fun to stop and we found it. Game X Change is great! Tons of games, of course, but also Gundam models, card games (MTG, pokemon), electronics, musical instruments, etc. We spent at least an hour looking around. Also, great prices and awesome customer service, Not kidding on the prices, online or better! Oh, and William was great, super helpful, and just a great guy. We look forward to dropping again. I only wish they could amil me some stuff because I didn't buy everyting I was looking at, and should have!

Fantastic experience: I been meaning to leave a review on this place for awhile. It's amazing, staff super friendly, they have a bunch of classic stuff and figurines I normally go there for dragon ball, sometimes Naruto I'm a big anime fan, but at the same time I love the classic consoles/games you can't just buy anywhere. These guys are awesome, I've enjoyed every trip I ever made going there.

Negative experience: I have to drive two hours round trip to reach this store so I'm pretty upset. I bought a PSVR headset and the employee didn't put the cables or the processing unit in the bag. I've never owned one so I didn't know I needed it until I googled how to hook it all up. I called them and Nicholas was great. Said come back and he'd hand it all over because it was supposed to come with. Cool. While I was there, I went ahead and bought two Move controllers, again because I didn't know I needed them for most games and no one told me. Got home and one wouldn't work. I called back again the next day. Different employee said no problem, you can return it and get another one, so I did. Got home and this one doesn't work either. The connection port was full of a sticky substance. No way anyone could've tested it. I've wasted enough time and gas money messing with this place. Educate your employees about what comes with what. And I don't know... maybe test your products?

Positive experience: Good store for buying games and movies except for a few problems.. 1) some game/movie cases reeked of Marijuana smell. And they don't clean them before reselling. 2) poor computer system that doesn't keep track of trading credit. So have them check for unused credit regularly. 3) understaffed. Takes forever to purchase and leave the store. 4) poor website design that doesn't have a search option. Unless you call(good luck) or physically go there, you'll never know. Overall a friendly store but needs upgrades and fixes desperately.
