Fantastic experience: When it was open, great spot to go if you couldn’t make it to any other ones

Negative experience: I love this store because Dan is always great. However , he wasn’t there when I arrived and the employee in charge is not knowledgeable about the controller warranty policy. I drove out of my way to exchange my controller because my home store had been shut down and he refused because the RT had been slightly lifted. Per policy, it states that if something had been broken on the controller, that it should be replaced with a refurbished controller. That’s the thing though. It wasn’t broken , just lifted. My problem was the stick drift on my LS. When asked if he can call Dan or any other manager above him, he simply refused and when I presented this problem to another store representative at the mechanicsville store, he even acknowledged that the employee is wrong. I love Dan and his customer service, however, he wasn’t there and I didn’t have a great experience. I know that employee was trained better than that if he’s been trained by Dan. It sucks because while working two jobs, I don’t know the next time I’ll be able to go to a GameStop. I game to decompress and because I enjoy it , and now I won’t be able to do that for a while.

Negative experience: Understaffed is an understatement stood in line for probably about 30 minutes and then suddenly 3 employees emerge from the backroom and can finally help the only person they left to cashier

Fantastic experience: Very kind and patient staff here. Came in at the end of the day to try and pre order the switch 2 and had a lovely experience. I wish I got the staffs' names, but the man had long dreads, and the woman said she was the only woman that works there. Both very wonderful!

Laburnum lost a customer. Next time check before you deny service

Negative experience: I’ve been calling for hours trying to get assistance and no one will pick up the phone. Someone picked up never said hello, thank you for calling or anything they just put me on hold all to hang up on me. I called right back and no answer AGAIN! I called a different Game Stop in which I’m pretty sure gets more business than this store and someone picked up and assisted me. I wish they had the product I needed in stock I would go there instead.

Fantastic experience: I went in this evening to get my son a PS4 controller, and they did not have any in store, as did nowhere else I went, the associate helped me with the best attitude and even helped me save money, and the controller is being shipped in 2 days, which was shorter than even Amazon was and 30 dollars cheaper. Her name was Jordan, at the GameStop at White Oak Village in Richmond, Va. Great job!!

Negative experience: I went in looking to buy a pair of work shoes, dress shoes and a pair of shoes for my wife. The workers would not even acknowledge that my wife and I where even there. I asked for help with a size and was told that what is on the shelf is what they had. We were the only ones in the store. I can't help but feel that we would have had better service if we weren't white. I hate saying that but I believe it is true.

If that dude isn't a manager yet, make him one! High energy, talking to all customers, keeping the vibe positive even when some of the others are more negative. Props to you, dude!
