Experiencia negativa: I came into this store on March 8th 2026 for an OEM DualShock 3. I asked one of the employees at the front counter if they had any that were OEM. They replied that they keep them behind the counter. Also, they've been shell swapped but were completely OEM internals (note that it even had the correct PlayStation logo on the PS Button) . I purchased one for $40. When I got home, I did the wall outlet test, it started charging. I opened the controller up and double confirmed it was not OEM. I immediately went back to the store for a refund where they gave me an unnecessary amount of grief. They claimed that there were broken buttons and I had to explain multiple times that I opened it up because I was told it was OEM and just put it back together poorly. They seemed more concerned with possible broken buttons than having just lied and misleading me into purchasing counterfeit goods. They didn't apologize or even offer any explanation of why that could have happened. I would not recommend shopping here but if you absolutely must, be cautious and thoroughly check any items you plan on purchasing. If you've already bought stuff, check it, its very easy. I'm sure its not the employees personally swapping them. I'm sure they're purchasing it from somewhere online (point in case a lot of the other temu/wish items they sell). However, it reflects incredibly poorly on the business. It takes 5 seconds to test these controllers via a wall outlet and they can't even do that but can confidently claim they're OEM.

Experiencia fantástica: I stopped going here for quite a while because the people they had working there at the time seemed to always have some kind of attitude and I only went to them when one of my consoles quit working. I haven't seen them there since then compared to my recent visits and the staff they have in there seem a little more professional and don't act like you're a bother to them like before. Some of their pricing is a little spendy, but I understand they need to make a profit plus as far as I know it's one of the only remaining local video game stores in Spokane, and physical media is important to preserve nowadays.

Experiencia positiva: They have a large collection of all games, board and video. It's all crammed into their small store, tons of collectibles and accessories. The staff range from friendly to off putting, but if you know what you want they can direct you to the item. No room to test out or play any games. Kind of a "hot topic" for gamers.

Experiencia negativa: Sorry, I didn't mean to bother you, I thought you worked here. I came in looking for a game. I found one I liked and inquired about the accessories that it required. The girl working there (wouldn't really call it working, but whatever) was stacking items in a case but was apparently too busy to help answer my question. I asked about the item, she stated they might have it and if they did it would be over in the case. She also mentioned she doubts they have it. I went to the case, saw it there... Couldn't really look at it in the case because it's locked. Stood there for several minutes considering if I wanted to bother her to do her job or just go somewhere else. I went, put the game back and looked at other games. After having been there for roughly 20 minutes, and not being asked if I needed help or even a follow up to my original question, I decided to go elsewhere. You do realize customers buying things are the reason you get a pay cheque right? And the more items a customer buys, the better the store thrives. There was no one else there, so it's not as if you were busy... That would be a fair excuse.

Experiencia negativa: Brought in a trade in at 11 when they opened. Gave the cashier like half an hour to do a cursory search for value and she failed to do so despite helping maybe one customer in that time. Said she needed the manager, then said she needed time, then said she'd call me back when I've been explicitly told they need items present to check things in the past. Really annoying to stand around waiting for someone to do seemingly nothing at her register for half an hour. Sure, she might have been working on the screen. But I severely doubt it seeing as she was seemingly checked out the three times I came back to check on progress during my visit. She literally couldn't hold attention for more than 5 minutes. We ended up leaving, I'll just sell my stuff online. We got our used games at gamestop of all places...

Experiencia fantástica: Game world has been my local game store for years. They carry every console, and a wide selections of games including rare or games not seen often. The staff is always very helpful and willing to help you find what you need. They have a great selection of board games, stuffies, and other collectibles

Let's jus say I was devastated to say the least.. I called game world.. the guy that answered the phone... Was AMAZING.. KNEW WHAT HE WAS TALKING ABOUT.. a few days later I bring the system in.. was giving a date 3 weeks out.. to get the system back.. I dropped it off Tuesday evening.. Saturday morning they called and said it was ready...

Experiencia fantástica: Edit: 08/29/25. The repair crew is amazing. Taylor in particular went the extra mile. I bought an xbox 360 slim GOW3 edition and Taylor did his due diligence in making sure it was working like new. The repair crew has always done me good and even almost took off the charge for a repair in the past but I informed them not to because the charge was for something else I already took home already. I love this store. Im from vegas and tbh its hard to find anything here that they have. Vegas has everything you could possibly want and theres retro stores within a few miles with eachother. This store is the closest I get to the feel of vegas stores. They dont have everything but they have the absolute best chance of having what you want. Prices are reasonable, products are solid and employees as well as the owner are very laid back nice people. I even had an n64 repaired that I bought on cl and they replaced a bunch of parts in it but still didnt charge an arm and a leg. Super cheap repair prices. And when trading things in they dont cheat you. Really... they dont. Give either of their stores a shot, you wont be disappointed and will almost always find at least one of the things you were looking for.

Experiencia fantástica: I had a different, but amazing experience. I live in Texas, but my friend lives in washington. He texted me a picture of a collectible they had, that he knew i would love. By the time i saw his text, he had already left. I tried purchasing it online, but couldnt because it was called "uncollectible 45" something like that. When i called, i was met with great customer service. I paid for it on the phone, and they shipped it to me!! It came undamaged, and at a great total price. The figure goes for 180 and i got it for 45. It took them a while to ship it, but thats ok. I think my situation is unusual so it may have been forgotten about for a few days. Either way, as soon as I followed up they shipped it. Amazing people working there, and amazing owner as well. Thank you all so much! You all made my month, ive been going through a hard time lately and this really cheered me up. Thank you josh, the woman who helped me with the follow up, and the owner for being so accomodating to me.

Experiencia positiva: I went in to have my New 3DS XL repaired because it would randomly turn off while playing with a pop/click sound and I originally was told that they could hand it to their technician to see what my issue was, I paid the fee and left. Later; I was called by the technician and told they couldn’t repair it due to the fact that it would be a dumpster fire to fix and take forever, he was very nice about it though and told me I get a refund. He also texted me later with an independent repair person that I could go to on Etsy. Overall; bummed out they couldn’t fix it, but they were very nice about it. The employees at the counter were also very nice people to talk to, I’ve heard reviews calling them jerks but Imma be honest: I just think the customer was probably the jerk. UPDATE: went back to pick up my New 3DS XL and the employee was very nice, gave me my console and a refund! I also looked for some games for my New 3DS XL and they had a large variety of games which shocked me since no one has 3DS/ds games anymore! For sure coming back. Would make 4.5 stars if I could.

Experiencia positiva: Im editing my review to reflect the more recent experiences of visiting gameworld. I've been visiting primarily the north side gameworld. I will also correct myself and apologize to say that my original review was not for the Northside gameworld, but the Valley. The Northside gameworld has been nothing but kind to me. They have a nicer selection of premium games as well as guides. Also bought a copy of silent hill for ps1 a year ago. It didn't have a case and spent 160-180 on it. The cashier was nice to give me a case for it, making the experience alot nicer. "Especially with the price and delicate nature of the disk". Thank you. Recently I had a system repaired and I am greatful for having it back in my house. Over the years I have seen some improvement with the valley gameworld, so hopefully my original review will be taken with a grain of salt. Things change and so do staff. I will be keeping the original review in my description. So viewer be conscious that the initial review was a few years back. ORIGINAL REVIEW-------- I've been in a few times, but every time when I went in there a few days ago. no one seems to really want to do their job. Asking for help has become a big no when inside, due to the fact I get sarcastic remarks as if I should know where it is. And dirty looks from the workers as well. I feel like I'm being judged because I ask where something is or if they have another Iteam in stock. GameStop might not have the best deals but it sure beats putting up with this place.

Experiencia negativa: I brought my playstation in a couple months ago for an hdmi port fix. When I got it back we bought a warrenty for if it needs fixed again. A week after it brakes again, now their wanting us to pay a down-payment because the warrent we bought for the port is not valid.

Experiencia fantástica: These guys are awesome. Yes prices can be a bit more, but you pay for convenience. You want to save $10 and buy it online, sure, go get it in a week. I want it now and they have a lot of stuff you may just want immediately with the help of some cool gamers. Jordan is awesome specifically. Super helpful, knowledgeable and pleasant to work with!

Experiencia negativa: I think the number one rule to work at this place is that you must be a jerk to every other customer that walks in the door. Guy arguing with a customer trying to do a return gets told "You're coming in on day 29 of the 30 day guarantee I'm not honoring it." "I'm very strict about this policy." I sincerely hope this is just bad management and not one of the owners. Won't be coming back. Dropshipped TEMU items priced like licensed item prices. Overall I rate it suck/10. Edit: I'm unable to respond to the owner but I was standing about five feet away from the altercation and the manager was a rude person from the start. You have no idea what work experience I have, but I appreciate you including that little tidbit. It's not a welcoming environment and never is any time I have been in the store. Tonight was me trying to give the store another chance, which was a mistake. Maybe I am just lucky and get to see drama unfolding every time I've decided to give the store another chance. Can't please everyone, and I'm not going to be gaslit about something I saw happen in real time. It's as simple as me not returning, no harm no foul.

Experiencia positiva: Amazing store! Awesome finds too but be careful if you are buying a controller. Bought a brand new Playstation 4 controller there because the design was cool. I did not know at the time I was paying full price for a knockoff controller that was not made by Sony. Over the course of a year the stick has created drift and the right trigger does not work so racing games and FPS have become unplayable. I am not sure why they would sell a product that is so cheap. It never kept a charge well and would never give me an accurate battery reading either. It is the fake carbon fiber controller. I should mention that I own other game systems as well and over the years I have never bought a brand new controller that has created stick drift or a dysfunctional trigger button. 4 stars however as the store and employee's are always excellent.

Experiencia negativa: I bought Sonic Gems Collection for the Nintendo Gamecube for $55 in what seemed like great condition from this store. The case & manual were included, and the disc had no scratches on it. I was told that the resurfacing they did to the disc makes the disc work. The game did not work at all when tested on multiple different Gamecubes. I unfortunately live out of state, so I can't exactly return this & I've tried every method under the sun. I know living out of state makes it difficult, but I really wish that games worth high prices like this would get properly tested before being sold under any circumstances. Really sad about it to be honest.

Experiencia negativa: I have gone in to this store three times to sell my games and three times I have had to walk out not happy. Reason is I would like cash for my games and they keep pushing me to do in-store credit I don’t want in-store credit I would like cash. Very rude was one of the workers on one of those days. You know you should not try to push anything on people, you guys do cash for games you need to do what you say you do or that is bad business.

Experiencia negativa: Took my New 3DS in to have the top screen replaced. Called in to verify that they were able to repair it, i was told yes and to bring it in. I came in and they employees looked over it and told me that they could do it. I paid for the diagnostic fee which was due up front and they took it. couple days later i get a call from there warehouse tech, and then was told that he wasn't going to fix it due to it taking up too much time and that the time it would take him to fix it wasn't worth the money as he could make more money repairing 5 HDMI ports for Playstation's in the time it would to repair the 3DS. The tech did offer that he could do it after some back and forth but wanted more money for it to be done. I explained that i had already agreed to a price with the workers at the store and they assured me the price they gave me was all that it would cost. His response was that they have new employees all the time and that they shouldn't have quoted what they had. Overall i am just disappointed with the way it was handled and basically that it wasn't worth his time unless i paid more then what was agreed upon originally.

No offer to help until I interrupted 2 staff members very personal conversation to ask for help. They seemed very annoyed to be interrupted to help a paying customer. Have purchased GameBoy games in the past that did not work properly, as well as console controllers that worked for a day and then nothing. These people don't care about their customers or the junk products they sell. Trade A Game treats their customers much better. Save yourself the hassle and go there instead.

Today I returned to do business as usual, and the same worker (large bald bearded dude) told me he doesn't take in mtg product because he's not a card guy. I will be taking my business elsewhere from now on.

Experiencia negativa: I tried to walk in and help a couple of guys were looking to buy Pokémon diamond and pearl. They pulled the games out of the case and while I was verifying if it was a real or fake game, the fat bearded man came out and told me everything was fake. Trust me he knew what he’s talking about so I asked why they’re selling fake cartridges $10 more than you can get them on eBay don’t come here.

Experiencia positiva: High prices, but that’s to be expected for a brick and mortar store. Lots of merchandise to choose from, but last time I bought a game here the person at the register had to check their inventory to make sure the price tag was right as he thought the price was “low”. The price was a few dollars above average selling value, but lower than their typical markup, so maybe that is why. The price fortunately matched the tag, but I am not sure what would have happened if it had not.

He is fair and quick with trading. Christian and Alex are the best for working with Pokémon cards. I can't ever stop with their plushies my wife got me the best of my favorite Pokémon for Christmas and I can't even stop being excited when I see them!¡

Experiencia positiva: Workers were nice took a while to get my trade in ready but not there fault overpriced and they don’t really offer great prices when it comes to trade ins but definitely the best place to go when looking for retro/harder to find games but if your not looking to spend a little more then online prices then this isn’t your place however I think there large selection makes it worth it to check out.

Waited in line a long time and as soon as it was my turn they walked away and didn't help. My brother asked for help finding an item and they just said go look at the shelf. We ended up leaving without any help from the employees at all. Cool stuff here but not worth dealing with rudeness and over priced items

Experiencia fantástica: They have a great variety of products from used video games and movies, to gaming accessories, figures of all kinds, and plushies of all sizes. All of this at better prices than I was finding online. It’s definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area. Only weird thing is that the website listed on their Google listing redirects to a completely unrelated medical company page. It would be great to be able to be able to buy from them online since I don’t even live in the same state, but the in person visit was great anyway.

Experiencia positiva: Customer service is great. The Repair department is a little sketchy. I brought in a PS4 with a broken HDMI port. It was returned with the port fixed but they took the upgraded cooling fan out and replaced it with a cheap one that's very loud and insufficient. I will continue to use this store but will not bring equipment in for repairs again.

Experiencia positiva: im gonna have to revise my 5 star rating from 2 years ago and knock them down to a 3 star. they used to be a great place to shop retro games but now they are just ok. while they still have a good selection of games in stock its hard to get a good deal since they mark everything 10 percent above its going value, many times ive come in and compared games prices against what they go for on price charting and their games tend to be more expensive. not to mention they will rip you off on anything you sell to them, i sold over 80 PS2 games to them and a slim ps2 console that had never had its plastic cellophane that covers the glossy part of the console removed, a collection that was valued at over 1,000 dollars due to several games being rare and valuable and the best they could do was 190 bucks. its really pushed me away from buying and selling games from them so now i mostly get the games i want through ebay now. ever since trade a game went out of business there prices have only gotten worse due to no real competition in the area. what a shame.

They sell a lot of third party/replica items that when you ask the employees for an authentic controller they can’t tell the difference between their authentic and replica inventory. If you need it now they are an okay choice else online would be a much better deal and customer experience.

They also have older consoles and accessories as well. On top of all this, they have a good DVD/Blue Ray selection, new games, consoles, cards, and board games. The place is very clean and welcoming. Staff is great and knowledgeable as well. Check it out if you haven't already!

Experiencia negativa: I went in two get two ps4 controllers and so far, I’ve had to take one controller in due to malfunctioning or the controller just dying - stops being able to charge or turn on. All these controllers have been their alternate/refurbished that can’t last longer than a month. I should’ve never have gone to them to buy a controller, shoulda just went somewhere else and boughten a new one somewhere else. But no, I went to this place and get to make a stop in ever other month to let em know something is wrong, yet again, with their controllers.

Experiencia negativa: I bought a legends flashback and was told by Chad that it was play tested and that it work. And if for some reason it did not to let them know. After calling and the numbers on the card that was given to me they do not work. And I emailed them and with in 10 minutes I was blocked.

Experiencia negativa: This store has fallen a long way from the promise it once held. Once a great place to search for retro games with modern big titles also stocked, they seem to have either been scraped thin or are trying to scrape customers for their dollars and dimes. It has become increasingly difficult to find popular retro games from even a few generations ago, much less what's considered retro, without them being sealed off in a display case as the only copy and marked up. I know we all have to make money somehow but it feels like the store has jumped on ship with the recent scalping of retro games. The last straw really though is them making the choice to remove price tags from many display case items. This forces you to have to ask the attendant for the prices of each individual item, making window shopping impossible. I understand this was probably done because some stat showed if a customer talks to the staff before, they are more likely to make a purchase, but to me it feels like the shop knows it's prices are too high, and are trying to hide it, creating awkward social situations for gamers (who notably tend to have higher rates of social anxiety per Capita) where buyers feel pressured to purchase something after asking for the price, regardless if the price is high than they expected. I'll leave my original review from a few years ago attached, bit basically nothing about it is accurate anymore. I can't say if their prices when you sell them a game have improved cause I haven't tried since. I've probably made my last visit to this location. (Original Review) Good for their large collection of retro games ranging from Atari to Nintendo to Xbox, and you can get some decent deals on consoles here if you come in at the right time. I got a GBA and a 2DS that were in great condition for an alright price. I would advise against selling things to them however. They tend not to value retro games when buying them from you, but mark them up big when selling the same games from the shelf. I know that's just business but if you want money for your games, you are much better off selling them yourself online, or taking them to a proper pawn shop. Still, this place is quite nice for when you want to browse physical games from multiple generations.

The store has an impressive selection of both new and used retro games, as well as current generation games and anime. The store is well-organized and easy to navigate, making it easy to find what you're looking for. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly, and they're always willing to help you find the perfect game. The prices are also very reasonable, and they often have great deals and sales. One of the best things about Game World is the atmosphere, it feels like a paradise for gamers and anime fans. They have a lot of gaming and anime merchandise, and a lot of collectibles, which makes it a great place to browse and check out new items. Experiencia fantástica: this is by far one of the best places in spokane for retro games! i love coming in, the employees are always welcoming and friendly. i cant say the same for the valley store but these guys are always nice. good selection on games from nintendo to sega, all the way to xbox and playstation!

Experiencia negativa: $60 un-refundable fee to have a $130 console looked at, so you can then get an ESTIMATE on the repair cost. Might as well get a new console… ridiculous.

Experiencia positiva: They have a lot of great games, including hard to find titles. They have both current and retro systems/ games. My only 2 concerns were this - while there I observed a very large number of Chinese counterfeit Pokémon & Mario games for Game Boy, Game Boy Color, and Game Boy Advance. When I asked if they were aware they were selling counterfeit goods, the guy shrugged his shoulders and said he wasn't paid enough to care. My other concern was that I observed another employee sell a samurai sword to a boy that at tops was 12. So yeah safety hazards. The boy was with friends, no parents present.

Experiencia negativa: Went in today to buy my son some games for his Nintendo DS, got home and realized that they charged me over what the sticker says on the game, they didnt even tell me that the price was different at the counter, called to see if they would make it right and I got told that they were updating prices in the system, thats fine if there updating prices in the system but honor the prices you have on the stickers or change the stickers as you change them in your system

Experiencia negativa: Don’t go here! I honestly don’t know how they are getting 5 star reviews unless people don’t know the market price of games, anime or manga. Wanted to buy a manga and when brought you to the counter they looked up the highest price online. They were going to charge me $30 dollars!!!! I found the manga on eBay for $5! This place is a total scam and a dishonor to the gaming and anime community. Just buy online some of the workers are also unprofessional. Save your time and money.

Experiencia negativa: Used to like this establishment years ago, but anymore I have a hard time finding a reason to go back. Very difficult to find even remotely popular retro games anymore. When you do, it’s usually not priced until you bring it to the counter so they can ensure maximum profit (like many others, riding the retro gaming scalping wave) I get they gotta pay the bills and afford staff but products should be priced based on condition to be fair to customers and remain competitive in the market. You can find decent deals once and a while for less popular games, but at this point I’d rather take my business online or save up a budget and make the occasional trip to Pink Gorilla in Seattle.

Experiencia positiva: Employees don't know their own policy for returns or refunds on new reproduction games. I was almost hassled on my return of a defective game that was "new". The owner? Ended up doing a cash return, but the whole process kinda left a bad taste in my mouth, I don't think I'll be back for a while.

Experiencia fantástica: I've been shopping at both the valley and North locations since I was 14 and I have to say, I've never had a better shopping experience everytime I walk into the store they always have had so much just to stop and look at. Whenever I'm looking for Rare hard to find games they have always been very diligent and responsive with keeping me updated on when they come in. I'll always support this business as much as I can and I know I can count on them to have something good everytime I'm in the store! Absolutely love them and hope they continue to thrive.

Experiencia negativa: Huge selection of games and collectibles. A lil pricey but hey you won't have to pay for shipping. I have to ammend my previous review due to the fact that these guys come off kind of scammy. I offered to sell them a x box controller they didn't have in stock for around forty bucks brand new. Comparable off brand controllers sat pre-owned on the shelf for 49.99. I would have taken 30 bucks in store credit which would have been a 25 dollar profit along with me having to purchase from their establishment. When I told the man behind the counter the controllers retail for 54.00. He said you he can order them online for far much less or get them from a retailer such as Target for cheaper. When I asked him to prove it he declined. Long story short don't sell these guys anything unless your destitute. Never thought taking items to a pawn shop over a establishment that deals in gaming hardware and software would be a better choice but it is when your dealing with Game World!

Experiencia positiva: I like this place way more than game stop. All the oldies, all the cool merchandise, plus nice people. They never have 7 people working at a time like gamestop, so you may have to wait a little longer, but they are very helpful and knowledgeable.

Experiencia fantástica: Amazing. Didn't talk down to us and gave us financially sound options. We went in with PS4 problems beyond our abilities and although they haven't done the repair yet we feel they will be the best choice to do so.

It's also great to see a dedicated section for big box PC titles, a very rare find these days. Value: 4/5 - Most prices are perfectly reasonable and right around current market value. Location: 5/5 - Excellent organization and plenty of parking. Overall: 5/5. One of my favorite game stores in the country, highly recommended!

Experiencia positiva: Nice place. Tucked off the road in a strip with other businesses. Easily missed if you are not paying attention. Plenty of games across most systems. They carry a large supply of collectibles too.

Experiencia negativa: Wouldn't get repairs done here. Shop seems relatively similar to every other game store so that is why that is, nothing special. They can’t explain what was actually wrong, they can only tell you what they did. Further, they have no clue if what they did even works and if it doesn’t? Not their problem. They are not responsible for failed repairs. Also, they transport your repairs from the north location to the valley and feel no need to let their customers know. So, if you’re like me and don’t trust the cardboard box your console may get tossed in with 7 others or the person driving? Just take your console to the valley, wait better yet, take your console somewhere else where they have techs that can explain what happened to your console. Be warned.

Experiencia fantástica: The people there are really nice and helpful they helped me figure out what I needed for my ps3 and helped me pic a new game when I couldn't figure out what I would like they're so so nice there highly recommend going there for games and other supplies

Experiencia positiva: Love going in the place and checking out their stuff but their pricing is not very competitive. you can find pretty much every game that you want in the store on eBay for substantially less. I don't know what pricing guide they're using but it's pretty bad they're going to lose a lot of business that way. they're getting greedy.

Experiencia fantástica: First time I've visited this store. These guys are cool as hell, even when they had to tell the kids to stop playing with the decorative swords and knives. They got my Xbox up and running just on the diagnostic aspect. I would take my equipment there any time.

Experiencia negativa: Don’t ever go here, or at least don’t engage in any type of transaction…they deleted all of my games and storage on my Xbox WITHOUT ASKING just so they could offer a trade in value lower than GAMESTOP! AND THEY DIDNT EVEN TEST MY XBOX TO SEE IF IT WAS WORKING FULLY! LIARS AND THIEFS!

Experiencia positiva: I bought an used PS2 slim. When I got home, they gave me the wrong power supply and A/V cables that had electrical tape on them. I had to return to the store two times until they gave me the correct power adapter. The customer service was great, but I suggest testing all used console purchases.
