Experiencia negativa: Recently there has been a sharp increase in the pricing. The same items you can get at the exchange you can get for nearly half the price at disc replay. And I used to really enjoy being there but I got very bizarre service the last time I was in there. I have to honest I feel like the guy with the man bun and the glasses treated me weirdly compared to the white customers he was working with. He just kept a nicer tone with them. But seemed agitated with having to help me until the other gentleman switched off. And even though the other guy was nicer to me, the energy was still weird. I don’t feel as welcome as I did before in there as a person of color.

Experiencia fantástica: Buying dvds is thrilling, I don't make the rules. We need to bring back DVD rentals. Subscriptions are insanely expensive, you need like 5-8 different services, and for what? To watch 4 movies a month? Go to your nearest movie store with your pal or date or family. Pick a movie (for $3!!!). Grab snacks. Make it a night. End of story.

The deal was good especially for stuff that has been sitting around for years. Will do business with them again.

Experiencia fantástica: My dad and I were looking for a console for my brother's birthday. We stopped at one store in Castleton Mall and the worker recommended 'The Exchange'. We walked into a HUGE, clean store with a selection of everything you could need including Nintendo 64s, Wii's, DS consoles, various system controllers, games, vinyls, posters, etc. We were automatically greeted upon entering before we asked an associate for help. Not only were we given good/relevant information, but an associate physically walked us over to what we were looking for. He explained what all we would need, how the system worked, and was very knowledgeable on the other questions we had. We went up the counter and Blake assisted us. He was very thorough in making sure he explained the exchange policy, how to work the system, and what all came with it. We ended up leaving with a Nintendo 64 console (which came with a controller and cords), 2 games (Donkey Kong 64 and Pokemon Stadium), and an extra controller. Blake got us signed up for rewards (free) and gave us a discount that saved us $50+. The associates were SO knowledgeable (it blew my mind how much these guys knew off the top of their head) and very kind!!! The prices were VERY reasonable and overall we had such an incredible experience. We left the store feeling a HUGE weight lifted off our shoulders because we genuinely had no clue what we needed, but everyone took such great care of us. After my brother's birthday, we are 100% bringing him back so he can shop around too! You guys are SO awesome and thank you for all your help :) Shoutout Blake!

Experiencia fantástica: I love this place. I go here every Friday evening to browse and pick up a game. Store is always clean, staff is nice, and they always have super cool stuff. They always have rare and hard to find games. Systems, collectors editions, steel books, etc. NES-modern systems, they have it all. Their switch selections is absolutely massive as well. Easily 200+ titles. Highly recommend. If I had to give one criticism, it would be that their prices can be on the higher end. Not crazy high or anything, but they are generally a few dollars more than other places.

Experiencia negativa: Wasted an hour of my day testing my Xbox just to tell me they wouldn't buy it because the disk tray made noise.... Like a spinning noise while it was reading the disk... I've never heard any disk tray read silently on any console or anything for that matter.. they have to spin the disk to read them? Completely unprofessional people working in, there. 3 people were standing around talking while 2 helped customers so the girl testing my Xbox kept walking away doing other things further wasting my time. Much better experience across the street, don't waste your time here.

Experiencia fantástica: I decided to update my 5-year-old review of The Exchange to reflect my latest visit. I've shopped here for over 10 years and have never had a bad experience. The staff is always so kind and willing to help. Physical media is becoming so much more important these days when you consider what has consistently happened to consumers who pay for digital media. This time, I was helped by Lilly, who took very good care of my wife and I and assisted us in finding the 4K Blu-rays of planet Earth 2 and Green Planet. They were all so super helpful and locating Blue Planet to add another one of their locations and having it shipped to the store. I truly appreciate their passion for their work and helping the customer. It shows! The Exchange has very fair prices, and we will continue to recommend this store and its amazing staff!

Experiencia fantástica: This store is awesome! Stopped in for the first time and I was impressed. The store smells nice and is super clean and organized. None of the games has photo copied art work which I thought was amazing. The staff is also super friendly and helpful. This was my little haul for today, Dark Cloud 2 has been on my wants list for a while so I was really happy to find a super clean copy of it. I also bought a an empty box for Monsters Inc GBA because just 5 minutes prior I was at Disc Replay across the street and bought a loose cartridge of the game. And then I found this loose cartridge of Spider-Man 2 that I got and actually ran back to Disc Replay because they were selling the empty box and manual. So it all worked out perfectly and I will definitely be a returning customer!

Experiencia negativa: Went there today with a nice Nintendo 64, 3 60 games and two controllers got offered 50 bucks. I literally bought one two of the games from them a few months ago for 60 each. So they literally wanted to take all of that get their money back off of one game and get the other 2 games the console and the two controllers for free. I get that you never get what you pay but that's ridiculously slow ball scam would never go there again.

Experiencia positiva: The narrow rows of games, CDs, and DVDs, made me colsterphobic. If more than three people are in the store it feels really cramped. But the isles are immaculately stocked with goodies. The displays are really meticulous & aesthetically pleasing! But the video game accessories, games, and consoles, are hella expensive! I don't think this store is jacking up prices, necessarily. It's just mind-blowing how pricey everything is.

And before she was able to make that change, she made sure to write down my chosen name so when she called out my name for my trade in, she didn't dead name me. It was very much appreciated. Experiencia negativa: I enjoyed going to The Exchange locations in northeast Ohio back in college so I was excited to see a store here when I moved to Indy especially since the retro gaming scene here is kind of weak. The first couple of times I visited here were fine and I usually would hold a decent conversation with the employees who came up to me. I usually was looking to buy video games and the prices could be a mixed bag depending on what I was looking for. The way games are displayed in the cases isn't always helpful because I'd have crouch or bend over to see how much a certain game cost because the prices are generally on the side of the case. The reason I'm giving a low rating is because of how I was treated the last couple of times I visited there. While walking around the store I was constantly blitzed by an associate asking if I saw anything I wanted sometimes in increments of what felt like less than two minutes apart. It felt like I was being rushed out of the store before I could even take a good look at what they had or look on my phone to see if this was the best place for me to buy a game from. Reading through some of the negative reviews, it seems my experience as a black person shopping there isn't a unique experience. It sucks that their customer service is garbage because they have a decent selection of games and some of them aren't overpriced.

The shop is very clean and well-organized. I definitely prefer this establishment when compared to other video game/electronic stores around the city.

Was surprised how cheap it was compared to other prices I've seen online.

This is definitely my favorite place to peruse video game stuff! I don't really venture too far from the game areas when I visit, but it seems like they've got a great selection of movies, CDs, and vinyl as well.

Prices are also seemed pretty steep, but I'm not tuned into the retro game market so what do I know? Definitely recommended. Maybe you could find better deals on the internet but if you want an in-person experience I would recommend going here.

Their knowledge of older, classic movies is thin based on their lack of exposure to any genre pre-1980s. I feel like a reel educator at times when I'm there.

Experiencia positiva: Nice shop! I've never been here before and I have to say I love the display cases they have for games and such. You can see the condition of the cases and games without having to do much further examination. Pricing is similar to Disc Replay in that it's more high than low, but it's a nice shop, ran by nice guys, who are actually pretty knowledgeable about what they're selling, which gives them a leg up on Disc Replay who generally knows nothing about what they're selling. Give em a shot. My buddy spend a little change, and I only bought one Super Nintendo game from them. I feel like this place warrants a few more looks.

Experiencia fantástica: I had a great experience here. There were two NES game genies on the shelf and I noticed they had two different prices. One was just a NES game genie for $15. The other was a NES game genie with a NES top loader game genie attached to it for $20. I wanted just the top loader game genie because I already had a regular one. I asked the guy at the counter, since one is $15 and the other is $20, and I only want the top loader game genie, can I just have that for the difference, being $5? He said sure! Great customer service here. I will return for more deals.

In some respects they're a little pickier when itomes to them purchàsing but it endures top quality when you're purchàsing. They also tend to buy for mor3 than the competition. It's also unbelievably off putting to be asked if I'm looking for something 3-5 times each visit. I can assure you your customers know how to visually see what you have in stock. Dial it back like 300% please.
