Videogamesnewyork: Opiniones
Experiencia fantástica: Walking through the aisles makes you feel like a kid again, such a wave of nostalgia. Great selection of games from just about any generation with reasonable prices to boot. Find some hidden gems & visit the cute little museum display preserving some history With the push for digital games, it's nice to own your media and get the sense of touch. They even publish physical indie games under VGNYsoft. You can also find them at conventions like Comicon/Anime NYC. What's not to love? Ronnie & Carlos are amazing! :)
Experiencia fantástica: A huge variety of games from MANY generations. The staff is very friendly and their customer service is absolutely exceptional.
Experiencia fantástica: Has a lot of good stuff and pretty decent prices!
Experiencia fantástica: One of my favorite video game stores in the country! Great selection of new and retro games and consoles plus imports and vinyl with surprisingly reasonable prices. I try to swing by any time I’m in NYC. Friendly and helpful staff but with the best kind of New York attitude.
Experiencia fantástica: Fantastic haven for retro gaming enthusiasts, featuring a huge variety of consoles and a massive selection of classic games. From the PS1 and PS2 to old Sega and Nintendo systems, they've got something for everyone. The staff is knowledgeable and passionate, making each visit a delightful experience. If you're in the mood for nostalgia or looking to relive those classic gaming moments, this place is a must-visit!
Experiencia fantástica: I almost hate to give it five stars , because I don’t like to give a great place away ! For near new and vintage , do much cool stuff packed tight .
Experiencia positiva: amazing variety of items for games.... not good if you are claustrophobic... super tight space
Experiencia fantástica: Great video games store & staff! A few years back, I bought a Retron 5 (new) & a couple of video games (Tetris & Super Mario 3- All Star).
Experiencia fantástica: Great store, they’ve got the nicest most helpful people working here. Thanks guys!
Experiencia fantástica: Awesome store, I love the 365 days open every year, we visited on Christmas day! We've been to many vintage video game stores all over Japan, and other countries and this one would be my number 1 for quality and quantity of games and things available in store. The guy behind the counter was happy to chat and laugh about the good old days of consoles and games when they released and the pros and cons etc.. was a great experience. Thanks
Experiencia fantástica: Great place for new and older video games. If there's something specific that you're looking for, there's a good chance that they'll have it.
Experiencia fantástica: Still one of the best game stores in all of lower Manhattan. I honestly wished I had more time to browse around.
Experiencia fantástica: Love this place. If you love games in general, from Genesis to ps5 and series x this is the spot. Great prices, knowledgeable reps and friendly service. Got some sega Genesis games and accessories all for a great price
Experiencia fantástica: A very large selection of games is available, mostly in loose (unboxed) form, along with a handful of consoles—though the rarer ones are unfortunately not for sale, as they’re part of the store’s “museum.” They also carry various collectibles, including vinyl soundtracks. Prices range from average to on the higher side.
Experiencia fantástica: Absolutely amazing collection of retro video games and consoles, as well as modern controllers for them. I didn't even know some of this stuff existed, like alternative N64 gamepads, and I've been collecting retro consoles for 10 years. Like visiting a museum.
Experiencia positiva: Awesome selection, its nice being able to pick up japanese games without paying for international shipping. However it's extremely cramped especially when an employee is out working on something. I don't think it would be possible for even a rollator or wheelchair to fit even if it was a small one. The staff are friendly.
Experiencia fantástica: This place is amazing! Prices are reasonable and selection is HUGE! Staff was friendly and knowledgeable, and they have tons of cool stuff! Store is cramped inside, so do us all a favor and shower before you go, please. Absolutely recommend you stop in!!!
Experiencia fantástica: A lovely shop with games, controllers, and consoles packed into every crevice.
Experiencia fantástica: The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The store itself had a larger variety of new and used products (including older vintage games). This is a stop you need to add to your day trip if you're a fan of gaming. Pricing seemed mostly on par, with a few exceptions. However, I typically think of the minor increase in pricing as a local city story tax.
Experiencia fantástica: Friendly staff and cool games! I got 2 GBA and 2 DS games. I felt like I went back in time because they had consoles and controllers you can’t find anywhere else.
Experiencia fantástica: Didn't personally buy anything but staff was super helpful and seeing Kojima's signature was worth it
Experiencia negativa: I took my xbox there a month ago They said they couldn't clean my xbox So I took to bk to get it done This store sucks
Experiencia negativa: They do not buy games for cash. It says that they do on their website. The employee said, "we don't have cash right now". Shady.
Experiencia fantástica: Excellent little store crammed full of retro and rare videogames
Experiencia fantástica: Best video game store in New York. Great library of retro games, consoles and accessories! The staff are friendly and they offer good service. I recommend any video game lover to visit!
Experiencia fantástica: I came in to trade in some games and the staff was friendly and transparent on offer prices. They even made some shmup suggestions and helped keep my dogs attention while I looked at games.
Experiencia fantástica: Excellent place to visit, I wanna buy something nes games
Experiencia positiva: A bit more expensive than places online but I guess that's the premium you have to pay for an astonishingly good selection.
Experiencia fantástica: I've been to a wide variety of video game stores, and I found that Videogames NYC had a large selection, varied between 30 and 40 years of gaming. I wasn't expecting games from other countries too! The staff were very helpful and next time I'm back in the big apple, I'll be visiting them
Experiencia fantástica: I love this place will be going back to pick up some items
Experiencia positiva: It’s a nice place to stop by if you’re looking for some retro video games. Though I’d think twice before buying a console from here.
Experiencia fantástica: I’ve been a gamer since the ’80s — from the arcades with Pac-Man, Galaga, and Street Fighter to every console you can think of: Atari, NES, Genesis, PlayStation, you name it. Walking into Video Games New York instantly took me back to that feeling of discovery I had as a kid. The store is packed wall to wall with everything: classic retro cartridges, rare imports, modern titles, and even indie games you don’t see anywhere else. They’ve got displays that make it feel like half store, half museum — I was literally pointing out consoles I hadn’t seen in years. For a collector or someone chasing nostalgia, this place is a gold mine. The staff here know their stuff. You can tell they’re real gamers, not just people selling products. I had a question about a rare SNES import and they broke it all down for me, even pulled another option off the shelf to compare. That kind of knowledge and passion is rare these days. Yeah, the prices are sometimes higher than what you’d find online, but honestly, that’s the trade-off for being able to hold a piece of gaming history in your hands before you buy it, ask real questions, and support a local spot that keeps this culture alive. For me, it’s worth every penny. If you grew up in the arcade/consoles era or you just love gaming in general, Video Games New York is a must-visit. For me, it’s more than a store — it’s a reminder of why I fell in love with games in the first place.
Experiencia fantástica: Has a large variety of games and staff were very nice.
Experiencia negativa: Not One Sega Saturn Game to be Seen . Need better Cib Games to NES . The Store needs to get it Together . Also Sega Genesis too . Don’t Know What the Owner of the place Knows What he is Doing . Lucky I Am Giving these Store 2 Stars . Sad to Say . But it is the truth.
Experiencia fantástica: Videogamesnewyork should be your go to to all things retro. Kind knowledgeable staff are ready to help whenever, an accurate stock available on their website and reasonable prices!
Experiencia fantástica: Just wanna give a shout out to to this team... I received an order which contained an unknown manufacturing error. VGNY graciously and quickly replaced the game with no fuss. I appreciate their understanding and would definitely do business with them again.
Experiencia fantástica: A ver large selection of games mostly in loose (not boxed), a few consoles (however all rarities are not for sale unfortunately but for what they call their museum), and some goodies including OST in vinyle. Price is average-high. Ur definitely worth visiting and the tram is very nice!
Experiencia fantástica: This place has a great selection of games that are used and people crazy knowledgeable at the counter
Experiencia fantástica: I have been coming to VideoGamesNewYork for the past 5 years and honestly can't complain. This tiny shop next to Cooper Union had tight hallways and you will be bumping into people browsing, but it's a part of the magic since it sparks conversations. The staff have always treated me with respect and the prices are pretty reasonable. Huge selection ranging from games of all regions and consoles while always having something different each time I visit. Always play some pretty good music and have some unique not for sale exhibit pieces. The middle hall that extends to this museum area is a nice touch and I am sure all the kids who go in are in awe. Highly recommend
Experiencia negativa: Reprinted art and off brand cases?? Not sure if they’ll let you know the art is reprinted before buying but I feel a retro shouldn’t be reprinting art and charging the normal amount as if the art, case is OEM. At that rate what’s to stop them from reprint manuals?
Experiencia fantástica: I recently began exploring the world of gaming and started collecting video games. A friend of mine recommended Videogamesnewyork, a specialized store, and I am grateful for his suggestion. The employee, Carlos, was incredibly knowledgeable and exceptionally kind. He introduced me to games I was previously unaware of. I could not be more satisfied with my selections and my overall experience in the store. I will certainly remain a loyal and enthusiastic customer moving forward.
Experiencia fantástica: Walked 2.2 miles from the financial district just to visit this place, it was nice and neat very organized…. Had a lot of Japanese imported games for all systems that I’ve never seen…. I thought the prices were decent, although I came looking for GameCube games, unfortunately they didn’t have many in stock but that’s to be expected with most game stores… the staff was very nice and helpful… I bought 2 wii games that were on my personal wanted list and walked 2.2 miles back to the financial district! Would def recommend to anyone and go back!
Experiencia fantástica: Great spot for new and vintage games. Fair prices on my trade-ins. Friendly and knowledgeable staff.
Experiencia fantástica: Im from Seattle and have been to Japan looking for a list of games, including Aria Chronicles. The shop had the Japanese import with the English subtitles. I had an amazing talk with the shop owner and staff. This was a perfect gift for Father's Day. Thank you for your amazing staff and great collection and pricing.
Experiencia fantástica: I come to this store regularly from NJ for my gaming needs. Great selection of stuff and employees are always helpful. Also have had some game repairs done here and they’ve done a good job with that too! Could not recommend this business more!
Experiencia fantástica: There was a large collection of games, the staff were amazing and they even had signed consoles as well as a Nintendo 3ds Street pass setup so that if you have a Nintendo 3ds you could check them out there, overall amazing place, a true gaming store, I will come here again!
Experiencia negativa: They are now selling game with REPRINTED ART and REPLACEMENT CASES. I almost bought a game until I realized the art was completely reprinted and not even a good one at that (colors were extremely saturated) I’d be fine with them reprinting art if that info was told to me before purchasing. The replacement case is cheap, dropshipping like quality. If you’re reprinting art then have it on the art itself before you mislead someone
Experiencia fantástica: Went here to get a free diagnosis of my Nintendo 64 and Carlos helped me figure out the problem step by step. Found it helpful after going to 2 other people they told me it was a motherboard issue which could have been expensive but Carlos found out it was the expansion pack. Get service and very knowledgeable!
Experiencia fantástica: Great collection. Staff is knowledgeable, you get so many options. Plus, the Vibe is there which you don't get while purchasing online.
Experiencia fantástica: Awesome selection of retro games and related memorabilia. Especially imports, I always make sure to stop by if I'm in the area because that stuff is really hard to come by elsewhere in the States.
Experiencia fantástica: This is the greatest retro video game store out there. I originally came here to get one or two game boy advance games, but when I saw how many there were, I almost bought the whole shelf. This place is amazing, the people that work there is amazing, and I would recommend going here if you’re looking for any retro game
Experiencia fantástica: I purchased a Gameboy Color from a VGNY stand at a convention in Washington DC. When I experienced some issues with performance of the product, VGNY was quick to reply and assist me with warranty troubleshooting. After further troubleshooting and sending the device in for repairs, the issue proved to be not worth trying to fix, and VGNY offered to replace my console with an identical product off their shelf. Their customer support and willingness to help me out for what is just a $200 device is nothing short of outstanding. I will be recommending this shop and their team to friends in the future. Thank you VGNY for all your help! I am thrilled with my GBC.
Experiencia negativa: I was visiting New York and wanted to check out some used game stores. This was the worst one I went to. First off, the store is so closed in and claustrophobic that only 1 person at a time can pass through the isles. Second, I bought a PS3 game and the guy checking me out didn't even bother to check the disc or check to see if the game was working properly, (every other used games store that I've ever gone to has always done this). When I checked the disc myself outside the store, it looked relatively clean, so I was optimistic. I came back home (not in New York because I was visiting from out of state), and I tried my PS3 game, to find out that the disc is corrupted and would freeze on the first loading screen without fail. I checked my PS3 to make sure it wasn't the console by trying other games I already had and they all worked perfectly. What this tells me, is that this store must have used a disc cleaner on the PS3 disc so many times that even though there was no smudges or scratches on the disc, the readable portion of the disc was so worn down that it was rendered unusable. So essentially, I gave them $20 and got nothing in return. I will never come back here again.
Experiencia fantástica: It may be a tight space, but there are so many games and other cool collections. The staff are also friendly and down to earth. If you're an avid gamer and love ol school games - this is for you!
Experiencia positiva: Definitely a place I’ll be returning to for my retro gaming needs. Great prices, even better considering it’s in Lower Manhattan. I was able to get three Xbox 360 games (Bioshock, Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare, and the first Assassins Creed) all in great condition (practically new) for only $30!
Experiencia positiva: A very impressive selection of games for such a small store. The selection of consoles wasn’t too diverse, the ones available were modern and or modded. Prices weren’t too bad though, especially compared to other shops in the city.
Experiencia positiva: One of the guys working the counter was rude, but the other guy working there was super friendly. Had a nice chat with him about football(soccer). Would have stayed and explored the shop longer, but that other guy was starting to really annoy me. Took my son and left because he was really making me angry. Would like to go back and see what's up with him without my son.
Experiencia negativa: Their Manager, the one named Carlos, God Awful. Worst attitude I've ever seen in customer service, immature and a complete disregard for other people. This dude needs some serious attitude adjustments. What's his deal?
Experiencia negativa: Business hours are inaccurate. Showed up today at 10 pm to buy a game and the doors were locked with people still inside although online the business hours say 11 pm.
Experiencia fantástica: Best place to get your ps2 disc cleaned and resurfaced! The manager and staff are always great. I am always getting disc resurfaced here. I have felt no pressure when I go. And the staff really knows video games.Their recommendations are always on point. Compared to J and L, they are way better. Super large selection of heaters at good prices.
Experiencia fantástica: Wow, I just had the best experience here! I was in a rush to the airport and decided to hit one more gaming store to search for 2 Nintendo systems I hadn’t yet found for a good price. The crew helped me out immensely, the systems were super clean and perfectly priced + the experience was delightful!! Huge thanks to this store and team!!
Experiencia fantástica: The best place to see and purchase retro video games. Prices for games are fair, and the people who work there make you feel welcome.
Experiencia positiva: Cool place to check out if you are in the area. NYC to my suprise, doesn't have that many video game stores. The employees are nice in this one and are willing to help. It's small, but they have a lot of selection if your looking for games and consoles. Not too much memrobilia. I got a great deal on some SNES manuals. They didn't have a big selection, but they had ones I wanted, so I'm glad I went.
Experiencia fantástica: This place was so cool! The staff was super knowledgeable and had games that they had published! The sheer amount of stock they had along with the quality (especially with how much there was packed into one little store was super impressive and better than a lot of game stores I have been to in other bigger locations. The staff were very helpful as well and all in all it took me back to the old game crazy days where I went in and found a bunch of titles I had no idea about/that were fresh and not the usual AAA titles (though they certainly had a bunch of those). Ended up getting a 16-bit horror game they had published for switch and I’m excited to try it!
Experiencia negativa: Ive been a customer there for a long as I can remember. I bought a controller for 65$ (Amazon charged 29$) because I want to support my brick and mortar stores in the area. I hate watching small stores fall because people buy online: In any case, the controller was broken. I showed it to their guy who ran tests and confirmed not one but several issues, besides the one I brought in in for, with the controller. He offered me another one or store credit. I didn’t want another one because I don’t want to keep coming back with the same issues and store credit doesn’t help because I don’t play games. I run my television through the ps 4. Carlos, the smarmy manager made excuse after excuse and refused to hear my end, and kept brushing me aside. This is not how things are done. His argument was “we’re human.” So am I which is why I shopped at the store to begin with. I do not want my willingness to over pay for an item (because I want to support the store) disrespected. I shouldn’t have to be forced into a transaction I dont want because I was sold a faulty item. The thing to do here is for them come back with respect and humility not deference and a bad attitude. I didn’t use counterfeit money did I? After all, I’m “human” and could have. I feel completely disregarded and disgusted in a place that I’ve purchased from since I can’t even remember when. I’m no newcomer to the area and have lived in the same place in n 7th street since 1992. I’ve purchased many cables, games and controllers there and this was the first time I’ve been treated with such disregard and contempt. . Apple has refunded my money but I feel its necessary to inform you of their employees attitude. They’re selling used games not new Lamborghinis. They’re selling to the neighborhood and I, at 60, am am adult and will be spoken to like one. I do not wish to play semantics with a 20 year old. The level of respect for customer service was poor and the level of respect as a person was terrible. Carlos, the smarmy “manager” definitely needs to be spoken to. I doubt it will happen but in all honesty it would benefit him, as a “human” and employee more than anything else. This experience left me with a terrible feeling and i will probably do the unsupportive and lazy thing and order from Amazon from now on.
Experiencia fantástica: This place is a gem if you want a nostalgia trip and buy classic/retro video games, consoles, and magazines. They also helped me get me one of my deeply scratched Nintendo GBA disks repaired and working. Highly recommend!
Experiencia negativa: Recently bought a $100 game from here and it ended up not working which is strange considering they resurface disc before selling. Was highly disappointed. Went for a cash return which they don’t do. I was then forced to make that $100 into store credit. I was already given bad service from them selling me a faulty game which was 90% likely NOT tested and now I’m forced to give them more business?? That policy is straight up robbery. I’ve been coming here for a while and would consider myself to be a valued customer but at the end of the day all they see is another person to screw over. I really thought this was going to be my forever retro store. I’ll stick to Mercari. At least then when a game doesn’t work I’ll get my money back.
Experiencia negativa: Given how strong the reviews are of this store, I was surprised how rude one of the employees was. I asked about trading in a game system and asked for a price range, but he said it was $0 until their testing said otherwise. When I asked for prices previous trade-ins have gotten, he refused. I then compared trade-in values with other stores and their employees were far kinder and more open to answering questions. Not a great look for this store, and I won't be coming back.
Experiencia fantástica: Top tier video and retro games shop in Manhattan, you can find very old and classic game here. The owner and staffs are kind and willing to help. They are dedicated into the game community. Must come to this legendary place if you are a true gamer.
Experiencia fantástica: Best experience ever!! Great staff that helped with choosing a Fighting stick to play tekken 8 and SF6 , also great choice on the Yakuza games and looking into buying a copy of Tales of Abyss. Thank you for your patience and kindness!
Experiencia fantástica: A great video game store for video game enthusiasts or collectors. They have well defined sections of games ranging from the N64 era to the modern day, with also many collectible editions of games and merchandise. The prices are reasonable and make sense for the rarer titles.
Experiencia fantástica: I’ve been into almost all the video game stores in New York and I can say that this one is definitely the best. The staff knows everything and the shop… it’s just beautiful
Experiencia fantástica: Lots of selection for geeks run by geeks. More Nintendo stuff then Nintendo NYC itself (no offense Nintendo NYC) I wish they carried more Miku games, normally Nintendo products go for $50+ but they had burnout paradise for around 40$ they have the OG stuff like the atari, the Gameboy, the NES N64, Sega Genesis. I just wish they still carried Miku mega mix :( lots of other imports from Japan though! 10/10 already recommended
Experiencia positiva: Bought a game from them at Too Many Games. We did not get to see the game before purchasing. Would appreciate it if they were transparent about the game region type they are selling and reciept indicates no refunds for any reason. No idea what the store is like. This review is strictly on their booth at Too Many Games.
Experiencia fantástica: One of the best video game stores I've ever visited. Everything was so tidy and clean. Tons of really rare gems in there. The guys of the store were also kind and helpful.
Experiencia positiva: Long Review: The best thing about Videogamesnewyork is the community and staff, they're all absolutely wonderful and everytime I go, I've always had great conversations and a good time. My biggest complaint comes from the pricing of consoles, compared to other video game retailers in the 5 boroughs, the use of third party video cables and power supplies, and the use of cheaply made 3rd party sticks. I'll break everything down below. Price of consoles: Manhattan is a very expensive place, almost unaffordable in terms of expenses. So to some extent I do expect prices higher than average but some are substantial differences. Ps2, PSP, and Vita systems are the ones that come to mind. The difference between VGNY and other retailers can sometimes be as high as 60 or more dollars so definitely do your research and contact stores within NYC to check pricing. Ebay isn't bad either but there's those who want to shop locally so there's always an inherent price bump when doing so. It's always best to be informed. Third party parts: VGNY really recommends the use of OLD SKOOL products. Sometimes they can be decent, usually the controllers are decent, but the power supplies and AV cables leave alot to be desired. Tested using a Sony KV-20TR23, PVM JVC, and a Retrotink 5x both at 1080p and 1440p, most consoles using OLD SKOOL power supplies exhibit some form of visual interface, more often than not it is jailbars. N64, Gamecube, and Xbox 360 over component has been the most apparent in my testing. All consoles have been recapped and tested with OEM products as to ensure the issue is not with the console itself. As for video cables, I used OEM AV, S-video, and component cables for testing, same with the power supplies. For those that use Composite only on a crt, it's very easy to mask these visual issues. I see countless posts all throughout the internet and on repair servers about jailbars and other visual issues, more often then not, it's the power supply or a cheap AV cable. Amazon unbranded stuff isn't good either. I also asked around other stores and some either outright don't carry old skool or they don't reccomended it unless your on a budget. When you buy a console from VGNY they usually supply a third party controller, this isn't inherently bad unless you want a OEM controller then there's an added fee. Most other stores do not do this, I'm really not a fan of this. Third party sticks: N64 and Gamecube in particular are the most effected, most commonly mass produced third party sticks are garbage, either they fail accuracy tests, wore down quickly, or lack the same feel and responsiveness of an original, it's very apparent if you have a OEM controller near you. If this is your only controller then it's not horrible, but be mindful that the stick itself is not an original. They do this as most controller's they receive have loose or failing sticks, so it's understandable to some extent, but for the case of N64, there's quite a few alternatives to repairing a broken stick, and quite a few alternatives for Gamecube 3rd party sticks aswell, usually from the community so it's hard to get them in mass but quality or quantity anyday. Method of testing is using homebrew software to compare the values of an original stick vs the third party sticks. The n64 stick they use is a OLD SKOOL Sharpshooter n64 stick, it's roughly $20 but isn't great. As for the gamecube sticks, I'm not too sure where they source them but when referencing other third party sticks, it seems they bulk order the usual cheap sticks you find on ebay or amazon. Most tests they use comes from general gameplay testing, Golden Eye is a good example, but it doesn't really portray the whole picture. Usually they lack the sensitivity and responsiveness of other sticks, or on the other hand, they can be too sensitive. A major positive about VGNY though is their repair services, speed, and reliability. I have to end my review here but check the store out! Just be mindful of the caveats I mentioned. I still go when I'm looking for a new release but that's it.
Experiencia negativa: Brought in some rare retro games to sell but was extremely lowballed. Was offered $40 for a CIB game that goes for $250+. They probably assumed I didn’t know what I have so I walked out but definitely not a good way to handle clientele.
Experiencia positiva: Very cool place, a video game, heaven. The only thing was a bit overpriced, but I guess it was understandable because of the area. The store was almost impossible to walk through. It was small and very narrow. I didn't like that one of the guys was eating lunch & it was something smelly, so the whole place smelled of that food. Guys at the front were cool & friendly. I recommend not to go at their busiest times. Then you will definitely enjoy this store.
Experiencia negativa: I could not discourage people from coming to this store more! They're whole business model is over pricing and selling faulty products with no refund. I purchased a Retron SQ from them. Took it home to set it up and the console did not power on. Tried many adapters and cables and it did not work. Took it back to the store and the clerk tried and it still failed. After selling me a broken product they claimed all sales final and refused to give me a refund (seems like a hustle.) so I was stuck with $85 in store credit and a store fairly far from me. Went it to use me store credit but the selection is very limited to mostly games you can find in the garbage. Purchased Klonoa 2 for gba which I was told is like Kirby. Just cause it's a platform game does not make it "like Kirby". Purchased the game for $85 only to go on price charting and find out the games worth maybe $50. Do your research and stay away from places like this. They are bad for the community
Experiencia fantástica: Great store! I bought a master system 2 yesterday
Experiencia fantástica: I like this place. Found many throwback games that took me back to memory lane. Some reasonable prices can’t complain. A lovely friend gifted me a ps2 from there including some games. I Purchased a ps4 game for a cheap price. This is my spot for now on.
Experiencia fantástica: Don’t let the small space fool you here- they have a HUGE selection! You could spend hours browsing around in here. Lots of new stuff, older, and rare finds! Staff was welcoming & asked if we needed any help! A must stop in for ANY gamer or vintage game fan!
Experiencia fantástica: Amazing selection, workers were just ok.
Experiencia fantástica: My favorite retro game store in NYC. Good size store by Manhattan standards with a large inventory of modern and retro games, gaming systems and other video game related items. The store is well organized and the people working there are nice. In my experience the prices have been fair to the market value of the games. Usually the prices you pay at physical stores are more expensive than what you could get online. I bought a game (Sly Cooper) that had come in earlier that day and wasn't priced yet. The owner looked online to see the market value, showed me, and charged me that exact amount.
Experiencia fantástica: This place is the history of video game consoles in a tiny storefront. It's been organized too since I was last here a while ago. You can pretty much find anything from any console era (Nintendo, Sega, Switch, PS, XBox, GameBoy, etc.) as well as the most recent games, controllers/equipment and some collectors stuff. The staff are knowledgeable and nice. I came looking for an original Xbox power block and cord from 2008 (it is a weird hard to find part) and lo and behold they rooted around and found one! Another customer was there at the same time and had his PS2 repaired by them and it wasn't super expensive. A classic NYC store. <3
Experiencia fantástica: I walked in needed help with my PS2 "Jay" without hesitation and enjoying his coffee assisted me and took great care of it. Always enthusiastic and understanding. Great place great customer service thank you
Experiencia fantástica: I loved this place. My fav place for retro games in New York. Pricing might not be great but they have great collections.
Experiencia fantástica: The store is in a remote location but they can't be beat when it comes to tasty prices on import and indie video games. They also publish their own games. Definitely worth a trip if you're a gamer.
Experiencia fantástica: Nice store with a lot choice . Affordable prices.
Experiencia positiva: Very cool store to look around! Lots of unique items and video game history. Console prices are extremely high but some good deals on games can be had.
Experiencia positiva: The store is small and cute. They have a lot of game including the Atari system and the Nintendo gloves!!! Some stuff are a bit overpriced, but you’re paying for what you love.
Experiencia fantástica: A great place to browse and buy games. They have a very large stock, including a bunch of sealed GBA games. Downside is, the amount of stock they have combined with the store size makes the walking areas quite thin. Prices were fair, or at least for what I checked. Can't speak to the sealed games at all as I don't intentionally collect sealed.
Experiencia fantástica: Awesome video game store with pretty much every classic game. Nice staff.
Experiencia fantástica: Awesome store. Such a unique little place with everything an old school to current gamer could want. They build new systems and repair old ones and have soooo much rare video game loot. I wish they had one of these in Arizona where I’m from. Nice woman working up front too.
Experiencia negativa: Sold us totally messed up disks and it took us going to another local game store to figure out that these games were beyond repair. Reprinted case as well. Total rip off. I think some of the staff are just clueless about retro games because they kind of restored the bottom of the disk (to remove scratches) without realizing that the data is on the top of the disk and there were deep scratches in that, leading to both of the disks being useless. I’d recommend you THOROUGHLY check your games/systems before leaving the store.
Experiencia fantástica: We always find all the old PS games here at a good price.
Experiencia fantástica: Always an amazing place to visit whenever I'm in the city. I've honestly never had a bad interaction here from staff. Shout out to Charles, super nice dude. Very helpful and patient with my wife and I. If I already wasn't a fan of what this store is all about, his interactions with me today would of made me a life long customer.
Experiencia fantástica: Awesome experience! Although it's a small establishment, one feels like a kid in a candy store with all the unique games, consoles and memorabilia they have on hand. Needless to say, they also repair gaming systems! % place to visit!
Experiencia positiva: Great store, staff was friendly and knowledgeable. My only complaint is that they fully stuck a sticker onto the disc of a GameCube game they sold me. I'm not sure how I'm supposed to remove it without damaging the disc art or data, which sucks. Usually stores only apply less than a quarter of the sticker so that it can be easily taken off without leaving any residue. I'm hoping it was just a mistake. 7/10, would visit again.
Experiencia negativa: Ok store, fun to look around. The prices are absurd, even for Manhattan. The staff also has horrendous attitudes, and are completely unhelpful, often times rude. This place is a fun relic of a time before the internet. Almost everything they sell can be easily found elsewhere, without having to deal with the trash customer service.
