Fantastic experience: I went here on 2/11/26 at 12:30PM. The one staff member there was kind and helped me with what I needed. I like this store, the prices are really good. Unfortunately, some of the items by the front, including most of the DVDs, are faded by the sun. Still a great store!

Fantastic experience: Very welcoming. And friendly staff! Came into the store a couple of weeks ago with my nephew. For some nintendo games and the young man with glasses helped him. Find the right game and he was very forthright and helpful to. Us. Prices were a bit higher than i would have liked but still a nicely run store for anyone who Enjoys media.

Negative experience: I am writing this because I am beyond disappointed and genuinely disturbed by what took place today. Every interaction I had with the staff in the beginning was kind and pleasant, which is why today’s experience was so shocking. When I went in to return my third NS system that, again, did not work, a man named Nelson walked in already visibly agitated. Without any conversation or clarification, he immediately became aggressive toward me accusing me of lying, claiming I had been rude to his staff, and suggesting I was “trying to get over” on him. I was stunned. I had *literally* just said to him that the staff had been nothing but sweet and helpful. I calmly told him he must be confusing me with someone else, because his accusations had absolutely no basis. Instead of listening, he became louder, condescending, and extremely unprofessional. When I asked for store credit, he insisted I hadn’t paid the $120, even though I absolutely did. His response was childish at best l “show me then.” I told him I would bring my bank statement, as I didn’t have my phone on me, and he responded with a sarcastic, “How convenient.” At that point, I told him I was done engaging because his behavior was immature and inappropriate especially in front of my child. He continued to be sarcastic, continued to escalate, and repeatedly delayed completing my store credit. I asked several times, very clearly, “Please just issue the store credit.” He would not stop with the comments until I finally had to say, “Can you stop? I’m not discussing anything further with you. You are not acting professional.” To make matters worse, he suddenly claimed the controllers needed to be returned despite the fact that I purchased them separately with the original system. At this point, the entire situation made absolutely no sense. I admittedly was pushed out of character and now met him raising my voice but I quickly caught myself, lowered my voice and that is when I asked, can I have store credit. And when I pointed out that the staff had been pleasant, he tried to twist it into, “So you’re saying they’re lying?” No, I said he was wrong. I praised the woman who helped me and the gentleman who assisted me originally. The woman was right at the counter and I asked her if she felt I was rude and she looked just as confused as me. The only other confusion was regarding when I last spoke to someone, and if I misspoke on the exact day, it was an honest mistake not grounds to be immediately labeled a liar or treated with hostility. Whether he was having a bad day or simply lacks professionalism altogether, the way he chose to approach me with zero communication, immediate aggression, and blatant disrespect was completely unacceptable. If the staff actually misrepresented my behavior, I am even more disappointed. But I have a very hard time believing that, considering how well those interactions went. If there are cameras in the store, they will clearly show that I was not rude, aggressive, or disrespectful to the encounters with staff previously, the all helped me and were kind. In fact, I was laughing and talking pleasantly with the staff. What happened today was entirely unnecessary and frankly humiliating, especially in front of my child. I hope this matter is taken seriously.

Fantastic experience: Be prepared to shop... If you love gaming consoles... Card games.. comic books... Vinyl records... Collectibles and more... This is the spot for you!! We have found some gems here thanks to the talented staff... Definitely recommend with 5 stars

Positive experience: The people here are always nice and helpful. The place is always clean and I'll always find something new here. My only gripe is with the Funko Pops. They're left right next to the window which then causes a lot of them to get sun bleached. There was a few I was considering getting but because of that and the prices with them I ultimately decided not to. Maybe getting some sun shade stickers might help

Negative experience: Don’t go here to buy console they’ll over price it just to sell you a console with missing screws and corrupt hardware

Positive experience: They have a variety of cards, games, movies, toys. Unfortunately my son didn’t find something worth collecting, that he would like to buy.

Fantastic experience: I love game exchange it has a variety of retro games, new games, DVDs and many other pop culture things to choose from. I would highly recommend coming here if you are looking for a game you used to play back in the day or a movie you can't find at target or Walmart.

Positive experience: I went there looking for Atari 2600 games and could not find any. The workers double checked and and asked there manager and they told me that they got rid of all of them. Workers were very nice.

Negative experience: Unacceptable idk who they are hiring in this place but selling broken items is kinda crazy everytime i come to this game xchange or orange i have to go back for something i just wanted a ps2 now im stuck w a broken ps2 “with no cash refund” i got the credit for it and got to keep it but at the same time i just wanted a ps2 not to drive 40 minutes to exchange fyi the Waterbury store had 3 ps2’s all 3 the disc drives were bad lmao i could test stuff better closing my eye's don’t shop at stores like this they don’t care about the gamer they just wanna sell stuff been a long time customer not going back for a while retro games plus in newington is a way better store

Negative experience: I went to the place and I was gonna trade in a game for cash and then they gave me a dollar for it but on this display they had it for $50

Negative experience: When to sell some Pokemon games but they try to scam me. They offered me $40 dollars for a soul silver when they have one for $139.99 on display same with playstation pro they offered me $90 but they going to sell it for $299.99. these people are scammers.

Fantastic experience: Marvelous place. I got three games and an action figure for about $40. A much better deal than GameStop ever gave me. They also have just about anything anyone could want: records, DVDs, games for every system on the planet, very friendly staff, and the kicker is they give you a FREE warranty, something GameStop charges you money for.

Negative experience: Was there for a controller found a nice FireTV controller just to find out from Amazon support that it will no longer work and was discontinued I explained this to the person there so they don't go selling it to someone else but he didn't seem to care I wanted a refund instead they couldn't give me my money back but in store credit I just wanted my money back to go somewhere else and buy the item I wanted

Negative experience: Honestly really do love this place but was just to wear a mask and im not doing that. So from here on out you lost a loyal customer.

Fantastic experience: I bought a Wii U console here a few weeks ago and it works great and is in excellent condition for much less than I would have paid online. Everybody was very friendly and helpful. Couldn’t be happier!

Fantastic experience: I really prefer this location out of most in my state, probably because of the Manager Dave and Tom. They are extremely knowledgeable of video games and the consoles. When I bring my 6-year-old daughter and three year old son, they are always treated as if they were a taller adult customer. If they change the management at this location and the staff anymore; I'll probably go elsewhere. I also feel I have a really big say when it comes to running a retail environment as I own two LLCs myself and some of you know I am "Rocco the Retro Repairman". I know retro very well

I only have a problem with the pricing on other peripherals like controllers, I visited the day of this review and saw a broken Playstation 1 controller for $20. The staff is friendly, but whoever is in charge of pricing things needs to make adjustments.
