Positive experience: I thought the staff were friendly and prices overall good. Sure, you might save a few bucks shopping eBay/Amazon but then you have to wait for shipping and risk a bad copy. It’s nice to actually shop around, see all the games, manuals, artwork, and the cases and discs in person before your purchase. I would recommend this store for vintage video games and was happy with ~$100 purchase of a few GameCube gems What's preventing 5 stars is just the lack of a loyalty program. Everything else they’re doing is great. Positive vibes all around!

Positive experience: Retro Video Game store and had recently moved to a new location. Old pictures have Blu Ray for sale but wasnt any for sale at the new location.

Fantastic experience: Great store. Staff are super helpful, super awesome. If they don't have it, they'll help you find it. Games are reasonably priced. I prefer to do business with Voltage vintage Games than any other store.

Fantastic experience: Been shopping at Voltage since 2017. I LOVE THE PLACE!!!! I always had a good experience even after buying defected products. And I'll be honest, way better than GameStop. They sell all sorts of games and accessories both old and new and my favorite part, imported games too. I recommend Voltage Games to any and everyone and I'll be coming any and EVERY chance I get.

Fantastic experience: Best video game store in CNY. I sold my entire collection I’ve had for years to Zachary and Dave …. They were very reasonable with me and it was a smooth transaction. The only reason I gave them my business to begin with… is because of their customer service. Zachary is one of a kind… something you don’t see much today. Hats off to everyone at Voltege games. I would easily do business with them again in the future. One stop shop for current and retro video games.

Negative experience: Went in to see what the store had to offer since I read all the good reviews. After my experience I can say most the reviews are not what they seem. Went in with a sealed Pokémon Oled system to see what they would offer on it. Employee behind the counter offered me 120$… called Pokémon(one of nintendos biggest franchises) niche. Definitely a rip off. Would recommend micro game or even Pawn King/Pawn Pro.

Fantastic experience: Always have a positive experience with Joey, Zachary , Ellie , Matt, and Johanas are very dedicated workers. Isaac Noah, and Shia is very supportive, diverse, focused, quick learner, experienced, knowledgeable, learning quick without a doubt passionate, patient, consistent helpful in the Gaming Community very sincere. Fantastic experience: I just so happen to walk by this cool video game shop and was highly intrigued! So I went in to browse a bit, with no goal in mind, I happened to spot a shelf of PSP games, I still have my PSP 3000 but haven't had a battery in years! So I asked about batteries for a PSP and was pleasantly gifted a battery by Zack! (I believe that was the gent's name) I'll definitely be back next time I'm in town! Would absolutely recommend to anyone looking for older as well as new gen games! Kind staff as well!

Fantastic experience: Not much to say other than I was visiting Syracuse area on Saturday. I had issac help me out as I really wanted an SNES for really old time sake. Even though I didn’t buy one he was very friendly, put no pressure on me to make a sale at that moment, and I hopefully will be back to make the purchase next weekend when I’m ready. 5 stars for both the collection and the customer service I received!!

Fantastic experience: EASILY the best video game store in the entire state. I first went to this store back in 2016 to sell my entire game library due to facing some financially difficult times. Sold my PS2/PS3/XBox 360, Nintendo GameCube, and 3DS, and about 110 games. Got at least $900 out of it all. And then continued to use mostly their Manlius store for some years until that closed down. Friendly and knowledge workers, INSANE collection of everything gaming and then some, great prices. This is THE game store to go to, no question about it.

Fantastic experience: Wow!! awesome experience. I have been in there 2 times b4 but this was a whole new thing. I ran into an old friend izak who used to run another business I would go to. he stepped out from behind the counter to talk to me about what i was looking for. he was energetic excited and eager to help. wat really made me love the experience was he could’ve upsold me to spend probably 150 on something I didn’t want. instead of being a salesman he behaved like a professional and sold me what I was looking for. thanks to that I’ll be going back there more often and will probably spend more overall than i would on one sale! his coworker was helpful at helping too when izak wasn’t sure of questions. i loved the enthusiasm and knowledge. the two guys there clearly love what they do and aren’t trying to make money before making sure the customer gets what they need. Everybody go here for your video game needs!!!!!

Fantastic experience: With my new job I’ve started going to multiple different “second hand” video game stores including larger than life, multiple games stops, and micro games. I don’t leave many reviews but this store deserves one. Zachary and Isaac where such sweet guys and never once talked over the gentlemen I brought in who was looking for a new system. Isaac cashed us out answering all of questions in full detail and at a level that was easy to understand without making us feel stupid. I actually had asked if I could buy a Pokémon card they had on display on their mini fridge because it reminded me of my childhood and the only Pokémon I can relate with my family and Zachary just gave it to me!! If I have to go to any store like this again I will be going here first! Thank you for making it a great experience.

If video games shaped you at any point in your life, check out Voltage. For those of us who were raised on video games, Voltage is like a warm hug of nostalgia.

I paid more for a system than I would have on marketplace BUT you get the guarantee, the positive interaction, and the expertise. That is its weight in gold! I highly recommend them for all your used gaming needs.

Negative experience: Bad customer service!! When I went in there the other day the people just completely ignored me but then went to help other customers who came in after me so I walked right out. They will never see my face in the establishment anymore!!

Fantastic experience: I travel for work and go to retro stores all over the country. This is one of my favorite. These guys were awesome, extremely helpful and understanding. Even nice enough to swap a couple cracked jewel cases for nicer shaped ones for some titles I bought. Absolutely great store, with very reasonable prices.

Fantastic experience: Place is really cool, games are expensive but thats what you gotta pay for the classics, still seems a little crazy though, people are super friendly and informative and will literally answer all your questions no problem. Ill eventually buy a classic again just so many options to choose from.

Fantastic experience: I was in town recently attending Retro Game Con and spotted this gem on my way back from dinner. It was such a cute store. I found all of the employees working very friendly and I was able to pick up a few games on my wish list that I wasn't able to find at the con for a very good price. The person who rang me out bonded with me over our love of Kirby and I felt very welcome there. I highly recommend this store to anyone in the market for new and retro games. I only wish I didn't live 2 hours away from it :(

In a world of vastly diminished retail customer service, these folks remind me of the assistance and courtesy that make small businesses successful beyond one year.

Fantastic experience: Popped in late in the day with my seven year old and four year old. My kids had saved their money to buy a video game. The staff were incredibly kind and patient working with my very young children. They demonstrated games and hand held gaming systems, and patiently answered my son's many questions. I really appreciated the time they took to work with my kids. It seemed like they had a ton of games and fair prices. We will definitely be back to shop with this great small biz!!

Fantastic experience: An epic selection of games and systems with some truly exotic hardware for sale (at similarly exotic prices). The staff are friendly and helpful and the overall atmosphere in the store is chilled and welcoming. Retro game prices are high (that’s just the market I guess). I’m not going to mark the store down based on this but I will warn you that ‘bargains’ are very hard to find anywhere and that includes here.

Fantastic experience: I came into Voltage Video Games to trade-in all of my old PSVita and Nintendo New 3DS XL consoles, games, and accessories. I was treated fairly by a professional staff and was satisfied with the value of my trade-ins. If you are into retro games and live in the Syracuse area, you should visit Voltage Video Games; I know that I am glad I did.

The staff were friendly and knowledgeable as well. They said they get new games in every day. You can also trade your games in there. Will definitely be going back and highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: The prices are fair and better than what I could have gotten online. The employees are very helpful and polite. I bought a GameCube and everything it came with, and a memory card. It only cost me $108. When buying the GameCube, you get a discount on the memory card. I am 100% going back here when buying games.

Fantastic experience: Love this place! Guys here are super cool and seem to know a lot about the industry. They are also pretty fair when buying stuff from you if you don’t bring them broken or super dirty items (no duh right!?)!

Positive experience: The first time I walked in it was dark and kind of funky, most people wouldn't care, but it really is a weird vibe and not a great first impression. They have an awesome selection of retro and current games, most are used and fairly priced. I first purchased a n64 controller for my computer and I called them and they had a very friendly and informative response to questions about pricing and compatibility. It was priced much lower than something on amazon or Ebay, and I was surprised by the quality, sadly it was used and the joy stick can be very touchy and not work for some games but overall I was satisfied. I then decided to just browse again with a friend and he went to the counter to ask for some quarters for the arcade machine and the employee had a very nasty response to my friend just asking for quarters. I'm not sure If he worked there or was just a friend of the other employees, he still acted very rude even though my friend was being polite and respectful, and he really did not make us want to come back after that interaction. Overall it's the best video game store in Syracuse and I probably will be returning.

Fantastic experience: I dropped off a copy of Pokemon Crystal in 2019 for a battery replacement and forgot to pick it up until today. I called the store and despite the length of time since drop off and the significant price increase, the store still honored the replacement and gave me a copy straight from their display case!

Fantastic experience: Great local game store that has a nice, extensive and diverse set of merchandise ranging from games, guides, consoles and controllers, Amiibos and more. They are friendly and willing to work with you on matching price with current sales and offer pretty generous trade in value for preowned items. Definitely worth popping in and checking out if you're in the area an enjoy games.

I browsed around for a while and after totaling everything gave me a very good deal on the games that I brought in. I looked around and found a few games that I was interested in. Ben was extremely helpful and gave me a very good deal on the video games that I purchased as well as replacing some discs with markings on them with cleaner discs free of charge. Fantastic experience: I can’t comment for this location, but from what I can tell it’s a regional chain that loves what they sell. I frequented their FM location and they do a great job at communicating with the community. I’ve been lucky bc I’ve found a few esoteric grabs at their locations, but more so their staff are always accommodating and very pleasant!! This sounds like a shill review, but more so it’s someone who wants more volatages and less gamestops. Thank you guys keep doin the good deed

Your phone said closed on Sundays. Completely forgot about the convention thing.

Fantastic experience: The place was huge, with tons of games - retro and newer. Just about all systems covered - even saw some Vetrex! Have a few homebrews as well. The guys there all seem to enjoy the retro game hobby. Was even able to find an old code book I used to read from my childhood - nostalgia!

Im visiting family in NY, and I live in KY, so I always make it up to see this story when I visit. They Dont treat me any different then any male. Gamestop has told me I was a woman and wouldnt like certain videogames or any video games...sigh but as I was saying great staff and great selections!

Fantastic experience: Pros: Huge high quality stock of games for most consoles Tons of consoles, accessories and controllers Excellent pricing Fantastic, knowledgeable and personable staff Great accessible location Cons: Feels a little tight (Narrow path with high shelves) At this point in my travels, I've been to dozens of gamestores across NA, and this is one of the few that stood out to me. It was just fun to look at everything. So many oddities in accessories, fun custom art for loose games on the shelf. And my favourite use or repro carts I've seen. Fair priced high quality repros physically branded so they can't be passed off as authentic, never seen that before and was super impressed. One of my favourite stores I've been to for sure.
