Negative experience: Prices are way higher then they should be. You can find pretty much anything in the shop on local market places for about half what they are selling for, and to add insult to injury they only give you about 20% of that they think your item is worth if you're selling. A few of the staff can be very rude but at least the manager is nice

Negative experience: Don't go if you're of a darker hue. Called before to check on selling of games, I have a lighter hue sounding voice. When went in guy just made an excuse and didn't even look what I brought in to sell. Just said the smelled like smoke, which I've never heard before about gaming material. Very unsettling. Other games were also playing board games, which i like too, and I think he was more interested to be involved with them.

Fantastic experience: We went in with a younger cousin looking for MtG cards to help teach him to play. We didn't get any dirty looks or hostile treatment (which is uncommon taking kids into game stores). Instead, when I told the chap behind the counter we were looking for starter decks, he gave us not one, but five starter packs without charge, of his own volition. He treated our cousin kindly, and was kindly to the rest of us, not making us wait despite being in the middle of a big deal with another customer. I'm not remotely local, and it's unlikely I'll be able to return, but if you're ever in Tampa and are looking for some retro video games or quick Magic cards, make these guys a priority.

Negative experience: Who ever the bigger gentleman is behind the desk at about 6pm today- we drove all the way to this store after being told/promised one thing on the phone just to get there and this guy tell us no and then low ball us. I can tell this guy is just one of those guys. Avoid this place... get more bang for your buck somewhere else.

Negative experience: Never coming back to the store. They know exactly what happened. I called around other gaming stores looking for Mario Kart Double Dash for an out of town trip as we needed it in person. No one in town had it except for this store. I called at 11:40am asking to reserve and hold the game as I specifically told him I would pick it up after work around 6 to 6:30-7pm and the ASSociate confirmed that he could do this. I come to the store after work like I said for the pick up and individual is looking nervous looking around for the game to finally tell me he sold it to somebody else. He says I asked the guy if you were the one that called for the game?? Of course the person would say yes. If this was the case how would someone else know the game was being held?? Another associate asks him did you get his name which he did not. All they say is we’re sorry about that. Incompetence is the word. Thanks for nothing

Jon and his staff provide top notch customer service and have an extensive knowledge of both retro and modern video games. I highly recommend shopping here for games to add to your collection.

Negative experience: Don't put too much faith in online orders. Despite being advised you will be contacted after completing checkout (you won't), they also apparently reserve the right to simply cancel your order without any warning. It's a shitty way to do business, I tried to repurchase the item and it's now out of stock, clearly they prioritise in person checkout rather than customers who paid in advance online... Still waiting for my payment to be refunded as well.

Fantastic experience: This store (and the other branches) go above and beyond for their customers. I purchased a GameCube game for my son from the Tampa store. When it didn’t work (as what happens to used equipment at times) they tried to polish the disc in hopes it would fix the issue. When that didn’t work, I had just assumed a refund and hopefully it would be available another time. But, no, one of their employees said he had the same game at home and offered it to my son! He came in on his day off and just gave him the game. The joy my son had was something I couldn’t explain. Never EVER go anywhere else for your gaming needs. The customer service at this store is exceptional. This story isn’t the only time they have done something amazing, only the most recent.

Fantastic experience: As a long-time customer for my own personal gaming needs, I always check with a M&M location near me when I'm in need of something new; or looking to trade games in from my collection. Today however, I came in looking for an item that is no longer made for Xbox One (a Xbox One Kinect Sensor; & a Kinect adapter kit for Xbox One S &/or X) to utilize with my Elementary School Students. The guys working today went 'above and beyond' to assist me. Very much appreciated fellas; thank you so much again!!!

Fantastic experience: Updated review 8/24 Writing an updated review since my old one was no longer valid or accurate. I hadn't been into an M&M location for a couple years, but checked out the Largo and Clearwater locations again recently. Experience at both was great! I never had a bad experience at the Clearwater location, the store was always great, the pricing was just high. But that no longer seems like the case. The quality of the games at both locations was really great, people were awesome as always, and the pricing was much more competitive. Especially with the deals they run now. Will definitely be back!

Negative experience: Pros: • Clean environment • impressive selection from almost every major console in the last 30 years • items conditions are labeled clearly • all items are in protective packaging or in a case • staff is mostly friendly • not entirely overwhelming Cons: • pricing is random and or non negotiable for some items that are high above market value and exceeds price charting and eBay ‘sold listings’ (which is a horrible method for obvious reasons) • every visit I’ve been here, the staff has been inattentive beyond a greeting and will be on their phones on discord talking to others, watching YouTube videos, and sometimes talking with other staff (obviously fine for the last thing) • I’ve heard some weird offhand comments to customers from the staff that range from rude and aggressive to sexist, and borderline creepy. • got into an argument with the staff at this location a few weeks back when I bought a game and said I was glad the price went down for this game and they replied “you’re just trying to buy us cheap and resell aren’t you?” (As if this business doesn’t do that…but that’s how the game market is with these media influencer gen x - millennial - zoomer investor types) • reading other reviews and talking with friends regarding the usage of staff using their system to track down customer info for their own solicitation is beyond inexcusable. Especially that review of the owner’s friend who used the number of the customers account to find their discord and to attempt to hit them up. That’s beyond weird and I hope in time the presentation of the store in high quality will be the standard of high quality needed for customer interaction and hospitality. Stop using sold eBay listings that aren’t confirmed sales for your prices as well as unrealistic price chart pricing. I understand yall need to make a profit, and yall do price items fairly on most stuff that’s modern, but I guess it takes months to years for yall to update some of your prices and it feels less like a store and more a museum.

Regardless if I previously believed the issue to be resolved behind closed doors, I feel it's important to speak up. This isn't a personal attack. My review was to point out an employee who misused your resources and crossed the line by acting on that information. No company I know of would tolerate such behavior, especially a small business like yours that can't afford a blunder like this on its reputation. Unless you have a personal relationship with Devon, it's perplexing why you are so defensive of his employment and actions. With blatant proof of misuse of your resources, Devon is dragging your reputation down with reviews like mine and bringing problems to your business, like dealing with a pissed-off husband. I'm not the one who stalked a woman and decided to engage her. I am not in the wrong for speaking out for my wife. Furthermore, it’s concerning that you seem very involved with Devon's personal life to bring up a personal incident that happened nowhere near your store. So if you would like to keep doubling down, by all means. But I have no responsibility to you, Devon, or your business that supports this behavior. Good luck with your business, Jon. I hope readers will take the following information seriously and not dismiss it as an unwarranted complaint. This pertains to the Clearwater location of M&M Games, where my wife and I had a concerning experience. While I believe each store should be reviewed until the issue is appropriately addressed, our incident occurred on August 5th of last year, and I regret not speaking out sooner. I am deeply troubled by the conduct of an employee named Devon at M&M Games. Despite providing personal information such as phone numbers and names to the shop for account purposes, Devon used this information to stalk my wife online. He proceeded to add and message her on Discord not even an hour after our visit, a matter I have documented with attached photos. Upon discovering this, I promptly presented all evidence to the owner, Jon, and discussed the matter over the phone. While Jon initially seemed to take the matter seriously, even admitting Devon was doing this during working hours, he was defensive of Devon more so, but assured me he would address the situation. Unfortunately, it appears no action has been taken, as I recently discovered Devon still works at M&M Games. Devon has even publicly boasted about his relationship with the owner, claiming Jon supports him. It is concerning that someone close to the owner would risk the business's reputation in this manner. Especially claiming Jon is his "best friend." I feel it is important to alert others: M&M Games can not be trusted with your personal information while Devon remains employed there. I strongly advise everyone to avoid engaging with him. It is disheartening that despite these issues, he continues this behavior even while in a relationship. Thank you for taking the time to read this important message. I understand this may provoke strong reactions, but I felt compelled to share our experience for the sake of transparency and the safety of others.

Positive experience: Drove a little over an hour to check this place out. Called before the drive to make sure they were open. Arrived to a sign on the door stating “be back in 5-10 mins” waited around a while for nothing. Checked the door just in case they forgot to take the sign down. Unfortunately we left without going in. Luckily it allowed us to check out some of the other cool video games stores around the area.

Fantastic experience: I sell all my Pokemon cards to them and always have gotten fair deals for my cards. The owner and all the stuff up straight with customers.

Fantastic experience: Drove out a little ways to their Clearwater store ready to pick up Sapphire. It was in even better condition than they described, but there was an issue with the game. Jon and Birdo went WELL above and beyond to remedy the situation to an incredible degree. I am ecstatic and recommend this store to anyone, they have one of the best selections of rare and unique titles, as well as standards and classics, in the area

Negative experience: HORRIBLE customer service! Went to trade in a 3DS and got rejected because i forgot to uninstall a leftover from removing Custom Firmware, gave them proof it was uninstalled and uninstallable, and they told me to get out. Go to the one on Belcher Rd instead!

I went in just looking for some older games for my Wii and Gamecube, found a couple of good ones, sadly when I got home the games didn't work, went back and the guy that helped me was able to work out something super nice for me. Fantastic experience: Loved this place. Definitely the cleanest and most well-organized stores I've been to in a long time. It reminded very much of the game stores I visited in Japan - all the games we individually sealed in a bag, games and cases were in great condition, èach game was priced, each system had it's own shelf display, cool and rare items were in display cases. They also had a couple tables for collectible card game events. The employee was nice and helpful. The only downside is you won't find any bargains here - everything is pretty much priced at its current value. It's great if you are looking for some specific games, in excellent condition, for your collection.

Fantastic experience: As a console and game collector I find m and M games to be amazing when it comes to the sheer variety of both consoles and games. Everything I buy here is in great working order. Every Nintendo cartridge , Sega, Game Boy cartridge I have ever bought here looks as good as it did when it came out. This is the same with all of the disc games that I have purchased from here . they're all clean work well and can barely tell they were previously owned. The highlight of this store is the owner and employees. If on rare occasions they don't have what I want the knowledgeable helpful staff take my name down and what I'm looking for and when it comes in I'm always notified. If I have questions about anything from cards( pokemon , Magic)or games old and new ,console,handheld gaming ect . The staff is always friendly knowledgeable and helpful. On more than one occasion I've had questions about games I would like to play and a staff member has looked up the game in question and pulled up videos of gameplay for me to see. After showing me the game I was interested in then went and found it on the shelf for me. I'm always welcomed and helped and always leave with something amazing,fun and collectable. To sum it all up I'd recommend M&M video games,to anyone looking for collectable older consoles and games as this is truly one of the few places like this I've been to with such good condition games and consoles . But it's also amazing for new(er) games as well and the consoles. I will often buy an item for my collection of games ,then grab a more than reasonably priced ps4 or Xbox game and head home to fatten my collection and play a new game . M&M also has pokemon cards and magic cards/games played there however I just don't know about it . But if you do have any questions the staff there has got you . they're always there welcoming and friendly. Again highly recommend.

Negative experience: I showed up wanting to buy some games but the 3 people that were there couldnt help me. It seemed all they cared about was their pokemon cards they had. Im sure out of the 3 people there only one was a employee and the other 2 were friends. I liked the store when it was about old games not old virgins talking about their pokemon cards they have.

Fantastic experience: I walked in the store and I was impressed at the layout and beautiful display of the games and consoles in spite of it being a small store. I ended up buying the original ps2 fat model and I gotta say, I was impressed with the price, all over online I found they ran for 200+ dollars. However it only cost me about 150 for console and controller. Excellent customer service as well, the guy helping me even threw in a free OEM ps2 memory card. The console was in wonderful condition for the price and it, most importantly, plays games smoothly! Very pleased with the visit, definitely returning and I highly recommend checking it out :).

Other than that, the employees seemed friendly and helpful and I managed to find a Nintendo Switch game for a decent price, I would recommend this store if you're down in Tampa visiting or if you just live in Tampa in general. Negative experience: I have a pretty extensive game collection. Even by my standards, they have a lot of rare games, but unfortunately most of it is extremely overpriced. A lot of things I checked on were 50-100% higher than the current average value on pricecharting, and certainly much more than what you could find an equivalent item for on eBay. It could be a great shop if they priced things more fairly, but as it stands, I can’t see too much reason to go back

Fantastic experience: Best vintage game store I've ever visited (and I visit a lot of them). The staff are friendly and highly knowledgeable! They clearly make an effort to stock interesting pieces that are in especially good condition. I especially appreciate their interesting and rare Sega stock. They are right when they say "we cater to collectors." This is going to be my first stop for all my vintage game needs!
